Guide to the upgrades added in the V version.

Guide to the new features.
The new EPIC PRO V has added video functions including
time-lapse, motion time-lapse, and video panning.
To access the new features from the main menu select
"new video pan" to do a sweeping pan or “360 Panorama”
for a complete 360˚rotation. Connect your camera to the
remote port of the Gigapan.

Time Lapse settings.
After selecting new video pan you will see this screen
Move the Gigapan to the start position of the time lapse using the movement arrows. Keep in
mind it moves both horizontally and vertically, which allows for diagonal movements as well.
Once you are in position, push the “OK”button to set.
Next you will see this screen.
Move the Gigapan to the end position and select “OK”.
Next you will see the duration screen. You can set the duration time the time lapse will run in
days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Once set, hit the “OK”button.

The last setting is the number of images that your camera will take in the time lapse. Keep in
mind the number of pictures your camera is capable of taking per charge. It is possible to pause
the time lapse to change your camera’s battery and then continue. There is, however, no
programmed way to do this, so it will be necessary to monitor your camera’s battery power
level. Once you’ve programed in the number of images, hit the OK button to set.
At this point the Gigapan will ask if you would like to see the pan. Selecting “Yes”will cause the
unit to go to the start position, then move through to end position to show a preview of the
motion. If you select “No”, it will ask if you have turned on your camera, locked the focus, set
White balance, exposure, and turned off your flash. After pressing “OK” for each of these
prompts, it will then ask if you would like to start the pan. Pressing “OK”starts the sequence.
Time-Lapse 360 settings
In the New Video Pan menu, select New 360 video pan.
Move to the start position with the direction Arrows, then hit ok.

Use the up and down arrow to select the height of the finish position, then hit “OK”.
Select clockwise or counter-clockwise for the direction of the time-lapse.
Next you will see the duration screen. You can set the duration of time the time lapse will run in
days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Once set, hit the “OK”button.

Video settings and features.
The video features of the Epic Pro V are designed to create a fluid panning motion for
your camera. It does not start nor stop the video, which must be done manually. To set
up a video pan, select “New Video Pan”from the main menu.

Move the camera to your start position and hit “OK”.
Next you will see this screen.
Move the Gigapan to the end position and select “OK”.
Next you will see the duration screen. You can set the length of the video pan in days, hours,
minutes, and seconds. Once set, hit the “OK”button.
At this point the Gigapan will ask if you would like to see the pan. Selecting “Yes” will cause the
unit to go to the start position, then move through to finish location to show a preview of the
motion. If you hit “X”, it will ask if the camera is on and move to the start position. Then it will
ask if you have started the video recording. Once you hit “OK”, it will then ask if you want to
start. Pressing “OK” starts the pan. Once the pan is complete, you will need to stop the video
manually.
Setting a 360 video pan is done the same way as a regular video pan except for the clockwise and
counter clockwise setting.
