1 SAFETY WARNINGS
1.1 General warnings
The instrucon manual is an integral part of the supply; must
be carefully stored and stored accessible for immediate consul-
taon.
The manual is approached to transfers, the owner, safety manag-
ers, users and maintenance workers.
The manual provides guidance on the correct use of the liers,
on the technical characteriscs and precauons for the security;
this manual, however, can never be appropriate user experience.
If on receipt you noce damage caused by the transport, the de-
vice must not be used; you have to contact technical support for
vericaon and inspecon of the device.
The device must be used by people who are able to physically to
control the mass of the device or person transported.
The device conductor must have become fully aware of the con-
tents of this manual.
Before each use always check the eciency of the parts brakes
and all safety.
The conductor must hold both hands rmly on the Handlebar.
The device should be used by observing the following Require-
ments:
holder over the age of 18.
Do not use the aid as a means of transporng things dierent.
The person transported must not holding other things o extra
weights.
The conductor must never leave the lier while a person is on
board
Do not use the device on uneven surfaces.
The device is not intended for use by people (including children)
whose physical, sensory or mental abilies are reduced, or with
a lack of experience or knowledge, unless they have been able to
benet, through the intermediary of a responsible responsible
for their safety, surveillance or instrucons concerning the use
of the device.
Persons transported and drivers must not smoke to avoid damage
or re of clothes, upholstery or in any case damage to people.
The drivers of the device must hold the handlebars with both
hands to ensure constant control of the lier.
Assembly and adjustments must be carried out exclusively by
authorized personnel.
Never li the device with the passenger on board.
The device cannot be used exposed to water splash or bad
weather condions.
The driver and the paent must pay aenon to do not wear
long scarves or slow dresses; these can become entangled and
be a source of danger.
Before using the aid, make sure that the weight of the person
transported does not exceed the maximum allowed value. This
value is wrien in the liing arm.
The li is intended to li and transfer people disabled people
from bed to wheelchair and vice versa, must not be used to
transport the person from a room to the other.
The li is a gentle aid so it should not be used for uses other than
those for which it was designed.

The manufacturer reserves the right to make any changes to the

modicaons or intervenons, the use of unauthorized spare
parts, exceponal events, total non-compliance or instrucons
in this manual.
2. UNPACK
When using a trolley to move the packaged product, take care to
avoid pping injuries.
Open the packaging and take out its contents with cauon, care-
ful not to damage it.
Aer unpacking the device, make sure it is not damaged.
Any damage must be reported to the carrier within 24 hours.
2.1 Advices on environmental protecon

The packaging material is 100% recyclable. For disposal follow
local regulaons. The packaging material (plasc bags, polysty-
rene parts, etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children as a
potenal source of danger.
In accordance with Art. 13 of Legislave Decree No 151 of 25
July 2005 “implementaon of Direcves 2002/95/EC, 2002/96/
EC and 2003/108/EC on the reducon of the use of hazardous
substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as
waste disposal.”
• The crossed-out bin symbol on the equipment or its packaging
indicates that the product will eventually life must be collected
separately from other waste.
• The separate collecon of this end-of-life equipment is organi-
zed and managed by the manufacturer.
• The user who wants to get rid of this equipment must then
contact the manufacturer and follow the system that this has
been adopted to allow the separate collecon of the equip-
ment that has come to an end of life.
• The appropriate separate collecon for the subsequent start-
up of the disused equipment for recycling, treatment and en-
vironmentally friendly disposal helps to avoid possible adverse
eects on the environment and health and promotes reuse
and/or recycling of the materials of which the equipment is
composed.
• The illegal disposal of the product by the holder involves the
applicaon of the administrave penales provided for from
current legislaon.
3 DESCRIPTION
The electric lier allows a disabled person to be lied by linear
actuator acon to transfer it from the bed to a pram and vice ver-
sa. The operaon takes place through a cloth harness equipped
with a hooking belt.

6 USE INTENDED
6.1 Use Expected
The daily use of the device is authorized only provided that all
security elements and funconal parts are ecient.
• The li is intended to li and transfer disabled people from
the bed to the wheelchair and vice versa; could not be used to
transport the person from room to room.
• The li is a gentle aid so it should not be used for uses other
than those for which it was designed.
The aid can proceed only on at surfaces with a stable boom.
The use is exclusively the one described in this manual; we there-
fore recommend that you carefully read the present instrucons
to become familiar with the funconality of the device.
6.2 Prohibion of Use
• It cannot be used for liing things other than people
• It cannot be used if the person’s weight exceeds the maximum
permissible load (150 kg)
• It cannot be used if the size or pathology of the subject to be
lied is not well secured by the harness supplied. If in doubt
contact the manufacturer or his representave.
• It cannot be used by drivers with a slender physical structure or
otherwise unable to control the mass total.
• It cannot be used in environments subject to splashes of water
or crical or unfavorable weather condions.
• It should also not be used in all cases where the principles de-
scribed in Chapter 2 are not respected.
• It should not be used if defects are noced: these could gene-
rate unpredictable dangerous situaons.

6.3 Residual Risks
• Risk of crushing of the holder’s feet if the requirements laid
down in this manual are not adopted.
• Risk of entangling clothing if it falls and reaches the boom
of the aid.
• Risk of falling of the transporter if all the necessary precauons
are not taken to conduct the vehicle and upright and stable
posture.
7 USE
Before daily use of the device, always check the status and
overall eciency of the aid and baery charge.
7.1 Baery charge

Charging indicaons
• The baery must be charged using only the supplied cables.
•The use of extensions, adapters or other devices is to be
avoided.
•The battery’s charging status is directly visible on the con-
trol unit
• Baeries do not require maintenance.
• Connect the connector to the socket on the machine.
• Connect the charger plug to the electrical network
• Charging the baery from the reserve or fully discharged state
takes about 1.5 hours.
If the device is intended to remain unused for a
long-term (over one month) it is necessary to provide
to recharge the baery every month
7.2 Liing funcon
• Make sure the baery is charged.
• Check that the security buon is unlocked
• Press the buon on the remote control to
operate the liing
7.3 Safety ring funconality
In the face of potenal malfuncons of the electrical group of the
machine, or crical situaons, such as unexpected shutdowns due
to a low baery, it is possible to adjust the height of the liing arm
and consequently of its barbell, simply by acng on the appropri-
ate safety ring located at the end of the linear actuator.
OPERATING MODE OF THE RING SYSTEM:
Faced with potenal malfuncons of the electrical group of the
machine, or crical situaons such as unexpected stops due to a
low baery, it is possible to adjust the height of the liing arm
and consequently of its rocker, simply by acng on the appropri-
ate safety ring placed at the end of the linear actuator.

The red knob (a) located at the top of the actuator can be manu-
ally moved downwards by passing it from the posion of g. 1 to
that of g. 2, at this point it is possible to rotate it manually thus
acvang the manual ascent or descent of the liing arm, the li
is also equipped with safety against accidental crushing due to
the arm of the device, in pracce, if the liing arm encounters
during its motorized movement downwards an obstacle in order
to avoid causing damage to people or things automacally, it will
move to the posion referred to in gure 2 and will always auto-
macally cease the downward thrust (the actuator motor even
if the control buon was pressed for the downward movement
will work empty)

For the use of the harness refer to the following procedure:
• Apply the harness (1) to the paent or disabled person. ( the
drawings below are purely indicave of the applicaon to lying
paent or sing paent )
• Lower the li arm unl it reaches the desired level.
• Aach the harness ( 1) to the harness support barbell hooks (2)
and li the paent.
Before liing, adapt the harness (1) to the needs of the paent,
appropriately choosing the buonholes (3) idened by dier-
ent colors for each of them to be aached to the hooks.
A dierent color scheme of the aachment ring between the
head side and the leg side of the harness will result in a dierent
inclinaon and posion of the paent when lied.
Open the li base
The spread of the base of the li is done by means of a special
pedal system placed in the back, press the pedal (A) to open,
press the pedal (B) to close.
8 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
The lier needs ordinary maintenance like any other product, in
order to keep it in perfect condion eciency, even aer years
of use.
Daily remove leovers of food, hair and any elements that can ac-
cumulate, such as dust; you can use a domesc vacuum cleaner.
The next table shows how oen maintenance operaons should
be performed. Constant control and aenon should encourage
the user to perform the necessary operaons according to the
real needs

8.1 Cleaning metal parts
Painted metal parts can be cleaned with commercial sprays for
domesc use but be careful that they do not contain alcohol or
solvents, these can discolor or damage the paint itself.
Chrome parts can be cleaned with normal household products
and then dried well.
Do not use jets or splashes of water
8.2 Cleaning plasc parts
For cleaning plasc parts use a common plasc detergent for
commercial use, following the instrucons and contraindicaons
given in the instrucons accompanying the product. Avoid sol-
vent or alcohol products.

8.3 Cleaning wheels
Periodically clean the wheels, also depending on the type of en-
vironment where the device is used.
Remove from the surfaces any solid parts that may wedge them-
selves in the gum, threads and hair that may be wrapped around
the hub making it dicult to rotate.
Clean the mechanism of the snares using a toothbrush.

10 WARRANTY
The product is covered under a legal 12-month warranty starng
from the delivery date
(d. legs 24/2002) to the customer of Longway Medical and Dir. CE
1999/4 against any kind
of manufacturing defect.
Throughout the duraon of warranty, the maintenance of the
device is guaranteed enrely at
the expense of the manufacturer when it is established that the
problem is a manufacturing
defect. Warranty will be invalid should roune maintenance be
neglected.
Warranty does not cover parts that tend to get worn during
normal use (wheels, etc.)
Warranty does not cover:
1. Damages from misuse or dierent use than the one specied
in this manual.
2. Damages from incorrect assembly by the customer.
3. Damages from alteraon, repair and mishandling by unautho-
rized personnel.
4. Shipping and packaging of the product under warranty are at
the expense of the dealer
or the manufacturer.
Warranty does not entle the customer to demand compen-
saon in any way.
Spare parts are available for 5 years from the date the product
is disconnued.
If customers detect problems, they must immediately inform the
authorized dealer, providing
informaon on the detected problem using data from the specif-
ic data decal on the device,
lling the given defect and failure reporng form.
