1 SAFETY WARNINGS
1.1 General warnings
⚠ The instrucon manual is an integral part of the supply; must
be carefully stored and stored accessible for immediate con-
sultaon.
⚠ The manual is approached to transfers, the owner, safety
managers, users and maintenance workers.
⚠ The manual provides guidance on the correct use of the
liers, on the technical characteriscs and precauons for
the security; this manual, however, can never be appropriate
user experience.
⚠ If on receipt you noce damage caused by the transport, the
device must not be used; you have to contact technical sup-
port for vericaon and inspecon of the device.
⚠ The device must be used by people who are able to physical-
ly to control the mass of the device or person transported.
⚠ The device conductor must have become fully aware of the
contents of this manual.
⚠ Before each use always check the eciency of the parts
brakes and all safety.
⚠ The conductor must hold both hands rmly on the Handle-
bar.
⚠ The device should be used by observing the following Re-
quirements:
−holder over the age of 18.
−Do not use the aid as a means of transporng things dier-
ent.
−The person transported must not holding other things o
extra weights.
−The conductor must never leave the lier while a person
is on board
−Do not use the device on uneven surfaces.
⚠ The device is not intended for use by people (including
children) whose physical, sensory or mental abilies are
reduced, or with a lack of experience or knowledge, unless
they have been able to benet, through the intermediary of
a responsible responsible for their safety, surveillance or in-
strucons concerning the use of the device.
 Persons transported and drivers must not smoke to avoid
damage or re of clothes, upholstery or in any case damage
to people.
 ⚠ The drivers of the device must hold the handlebars with both
hands to ensure constant control of the lier.
 ⚠ Assembly and adjustments must be carried out exclusively
by authorized personnel.
 ⚠ Never li the device with the passenger on board.
 ⚠ The device cannot be used exposed to water splash or bad
weather condions.
 ⚠ The driver and the paent must pay aenon to do not wear
long scarves or slow dresses; these can become entangled
and be a source of danger.
 ⚠ Before using the aid, make sure that the weight of the person
transported does not exceed the maximum allowed value.

transport the person from a room to the other.

The manufacturer reserves the right to make any changes to the
product and its instrucon manual without the obligaon to no-
ce or updang of previous producons.
The manufacturer is deemed to be relieved of liability for dam-
age resulng from misuse by untrained personnel, unauthorized
modicaons or intervenons, the use of unauthorized spare
parts, exceponal events, total non-compliance or instrucons
in this manual.
2 UNPACK
• When using a trolley to move the packaged product, take care
to avoid pping injuries.
• Open the packaging and take out its contents with cauon,
careful not to damage it.
• Aer unpacking the device, make sure it is not damaged.
• Any damage must be reported to the carrier within 24 hours.

2.1 Advices on environmental protecon
The packaging material is 100% recyclable. For disposal follow
local regulaons. The packaging material (plasc bags, polysty-
rene parts, etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children as a
potenal source of danger.
In accordance with Art. 13 of Legislave Decree No 151 of 25
July 2005 “implementaon of Direcves 2002/95/EC, 2002/96/
EC and 2003/108/EC on the reducon of the use of hazardous
substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as
waste disposal.”
• The crossed-out bin symbol on the equipment or its packaging
indicates that the product will eventually life must be collected
separately from other waste.
• The separate collecon of this end-of-life equipment is orga-
nized and managed by the manufacturer.
• The user who wants to get rid of this equipment must then
contact the manufacturer and follow the system that this has
been adopted to allow the separate collecon of the equip-
ment that has come to an end of life.
• The appropriate separate collecon for the subsequent start-
up of the disused equipment for recycling, treatment and en-
vironmentally friendly disposal helps to avoid possible adverse
eects on the environment and health and promotes reuse
and/or recycling of the materials of which the equipment is
composed.
• The illegal disposal of the product by the holder involves the
applicaon of the administrave penales provided for from
current legislaon.
3 DESCRIPTION
The electric lier allows a disabled person to be lied by linear
actuator acon to transfer it from the bed to a pram and vice ver-
sa. The operaon takes place through a cloth harness equipped
with a hooking belt.

4. ASSEMBLY

4.1 Frame Assembly
4.1.1 Take the paent hoist out of the box and check that all the
items have been delivered and that the individual parts do not
have any visible defects. If there is any damage, please contact
your sales oce.
4.1.2 Before assembly, nd the base rst and put on the caster
brakes to make sure that the li cannot be moved unintenon-
ally. Push the caster brake plate down gently to its end stop with
the front of your foot. To release the brake, push the brake plate
gently back up again with the front of your foot unl the caster
is free.
4.1.3 Use tools to connect and x the main frame and the base,
place it in as the following gure illustrates (3 sets of M10 * 50
screws and nuts), penetrate screws and washers, lock them ght
and cover the caps;
4.1.4 Use tools to connect and x the main frame and the arm,
press the two decorave domes into the end of the canlever
rack as is illustrated (Cauon: put the two iron gaskets on both
sides of the plasc parts) place it in as the following gure illus-
trates (1 set of M12 * 65 screws and nuts), penetrate screws and
washers, lock them ght and cover the caps;
4.1.5 Use tools to install the pump, connect the pump respec-
vely with the main frame and the arm, place it in as the follow-
ing gure illustrates (2 sets of M10 * 45 screws and nuts), pen-
etrate screws and washers, lock them ght and cover the caps;

4.1.6 Use tools to connect the hook and the arm, place it in as
the following gure illustrates (1 set of M10 * 45 screws and
nuts), penetrate screws and washers, lock them ght and cover
the caps;

6 USE INTENDED
6.1 Use Expected
The daily use of the device is authorized only provided that all
security elements and funconal parts are ecient.
• The li is intended to li and transfer disabled people from
the bed to the wheelchair and vice versa; could not be used to
transport the person from room to room.
• The li is a gentle aid so it should not be used for uses other
than those for which it was designed.
The aid can proceed only on at surfaces with a stable boom.
The use is exclusively the one described in this manual; we there-
fore recommend that you carefully read the present instrucons
to become familiar with the funconality of the device.
6.2 Prohibion of Use
It cannot be used for liing things other than people
It cannot be used if the person’s weight exceeds the maximum
permissible load (150 kg)
It cannot be used if the size or pathology of the subject to be li-
ed is not well secured by the harness supplied. If in doubt contact
the manufacturer or his representave.
It cannot be used by drivers with a slender physical structure or
otherwise unable to control the mass total.
It cannot be used in environments subject to splashes of water or
crical or unfavorable weather condions.
It should also not be used in all cases where the principles de-
scribed in Chapter 2 are not respected.
It should not be used if defects are noced: these could generate
unpredictable dangerous situaons.
6.3 Residual Risks
Risk of crushing of the holder’s feet if the requirements laid
down in this manual are not adopted.
Risk of entangling clothing if it falls and reaches the boom of
the aid.
Risk of falling of the transporter if all the necessary precauons
are not taken to conduct the vehicle and upright and stable
posture.
7 USE
7.1 Liing and lowering the liing arm
The liing or lowering of the paent is carried out by means of
the Hydraulic pump (1), manually operated by means of the ap-
propriate lever (2).
Closed Open
• To li the paent, close the drain valve by turning the throle
(3) clockwise (CLOSED) and manually operate the lever (2) unl it
reaches the desired liing posion.
• To lower the paent, slowly open the drain valve, turning the
throle (3) counterclockwise (OPEN). Once the desired level is
reached, close the exhaust valve by turning the throle (3) clock-
wise (CLOSED).

7.2 Use of Slings
For the use of the harness refer to the following procedure:
• Apply the harness (1) to the paent or disabled person. ( the
drawings below are purely indicave of the applicaon to lying
paent or sing paent )
• Lower the li arm unl it reaches the desired level.
• Aach the harness ( 1) to the harness support barbell hooks (2)
and li the paent.
Before liing, adapt the harness (1) to the needs of the paent,
appropriately choosing the buonholes (3) idened by dier-
ent colors for each of them to be aached to the hooks.
A dierent color scheme of the aachment ring between the
head side and the leg side of the harness will result in a dierent
inclinaon and posion of the paent when lied.
7.3 Open the li base
The spread of the base of the li is done by means of a special
pedal system placed in the back, press the pedal (A) to open,
press the pedal (B) to close.
8 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
The lier needs ordinary maintenance like any other product, in
order to keep it in perfect condion eciency, even aer years
of use.
Daily remove leovers of food, hair and any elements that can ac-
cumulate, such as dust; you can use a domesc vacuum cleaner.
The next table shows how oen maintenance operaons should
be performed. Constant control and aenon should encourage
the user to perform the necessary operaons according to the
real needs

8.1 Cleaning metal parts
Painted metal parts can be cleaned with commercial sprays for
domesc use but be careful that they do not contain alcohol or
solvents, these can discolor or damage the paint itself.
Chrome parts can be cleaned with normal household products
and then dried well.
Do not use jets or splashes of water
8.2 Cleaning plasc parts
For cleaning plasc parts use a common plasc detergent for
commercial use, following the instrucons and contraindicaons
given in the instrucons accompanying the product. Avoid sol-
vent or alcohol products.

8.3 Cleaning wheels
Periodically clean the wheels, also depending on the type of en-

vironment where the device is used.
Remove from the surfaces any solid parts that may wedge themselves in the gum, threads and hair that may be wrapped around the
hub making it dicult to rotate.
Clean the mechanism of the snares using a toothbrush.
9 TROUBLE SHOOT
When operaons are represented by this symbol they must be carried out by qualied
personnel only.

10 WARRANTY
The product is covered under a legal 12-month warranty starng
from the delivery date
(d. legs 24/2002) to the customer of Longway Medical and Dir. CE
1999/4 against any kind
of manufacturing defect.
Throughout the duraon of warranty, the maintenance of the
device is guaranteed enrely at
the expense of the manufacturer when it is established that the
problem is a manufacturing
defect. Warranty will be invalid should roune maintenance be
neglected.
Warranty does not cover parts that tend to get worn during
normal use (wheels, etc.)
Warranty does not cover:
1. Damages from misuse or dierent use than the one specied
in this manual.
2. Damages from incorrect assembly by the customer.
3. Damages from alteraon, repair and mishandling by unautho-
rized personnel.
4. Shipping and packaging of the product under warranty are at
the expense of the dealer
or the manufacturer.
Warranty does not entle the customer to demand compensa-
on in any way.
Spare parts are available for 5 years from the date the product
is disconnued.
If customers detect problems, they must immediately inform the
authorized dealer, providing
informaon on the detected problem using data from the specif-
ic data decal on the device,
lling the given defect and failure reporng form.
The customer, aer making arrangements with the authorized
dealer, will take care of the
shipment of the product for warranty repair.
Throughout the duraon of warranty, technical intervenon will
be made by the manufacturer
who will make sure that the problem is a manufacturing defect
and not a fault of a dierent
nature.
This manual must be kept by the owner and must stay with the
device for the exercise of
guarantee.
Warranty starts from the delivery date.
Expected lifespan
The average lifespan of your Electric Lier is 5 years. Depending
on the frequency and way of use and maintenance, the lifespan
of your homecare bed will increase of decrease.
