Installation of DSL connection
and DSL modem Glitel GT-5802W

Installation of DSL connection
1) Disconnect the cable from the phone jack, which are accompained
by other devices, such as phone, other phone sockets, fax, modem.
Disconnected end of the cord, connect into the port marked PHONE.
2) With the cable attached in the installation package (RJ 11) connect
a phone socket to the port marked LINE (both cable ends are the same).
3) With another cable attached in the installation package (RJ 11)
connect DSL modem with splitter. One end of the cord put into the port
on the back of the DSL modem marked DSL and the other end of
the cord put into the port of splitter marked MODEM.
Note: If you have internet connection without telephone line, omit point 1.
The scheme of whole DSL connection
Identification of the public telecommunica-
tions network interfaces:
ADSL modem GT-5802W connects to the
public telecommunications network connects
via an approved ADSL splitter. Allows connec-
tion to analog and ISDN line as well through
two-wire cable.

Installation of DSL modem Glitel GT-5802W
Connection of modem Glitel GT-5802W to PC:
1. Connect an ethernet cable with the same connectors (RJ 45), attached in
the installation package, one end of the cord into port of network card of
your PC and the other end of the cord connect into Ethernet port on the
back panel of the modem Glitel GT-5802W.
2. Put power adapter into the power grid (230 V). Cable of the power
adapter put into the modem and switch on modem with the button of the
back of modem.
3. Modem Glitel GT-5802W is now switched on and ready to configure. You
will know it by that LED PWR is continuously lighted and the LED LAN light
is flashing. On your modem must be continuously lighted LED DSL as well,
it means that the modem is synchronized with your DSL line.
If LED DSL is flashing, read the chapter on page 7 "Checking connection“.
Warning before installing:
If you already had internet connection on
your PC, set up your web browser
(for example Internet Explorer) for not
using internet connection through dial-up.
If you use Internet Explorer, do the
following:
Run Internet Explorer (by clicking on
Internet Explorer icon).
In menu „Tools" click on „Internet Options".
Then click on „Connections".
Select option „Never dial a connection".
Click on the button „OK", or remove
dial-up connection from white window.

For the proper functioning of
modem Glitel GT-5802W is need to
set properties of a network card in
your PC.
The simplest solution is to set the
properties of TCP / IP protocol so
that the system received an IP
address from a DHCP server to
which your modem is Glitel
GT-5802W.
Connected is also necessary to set
the system to request DNS server
address automatically.
1. Click on the button „Start".
2. Select item „Settings".
3. Select item „Control panel".
4. Click on icon „Network connecti-
on".
5. With right button of mouse click
on icon „Local Area Connection"
and select item „Properties".
6. Click on item „Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP)" and then on the button
„Properties".
7. Select „Obtain an IP address
automatically".
8. Select „Obtain DNS server
address automatically".
9. Click on the button „OK".
Setting up of network card in your PC

Setting up of network card in
Windows Vista and Windows 7:
1. Click on icon „Start ".
2. Select item „Control panel".
3. Select icon „Network and Internet".
4. Select „Network and Sharing Center".
5. In menu Tasks select „Manage network connections“
(in Windows 7 „Change adapter settings“).
6. With right button of mouse click on „Local Area Connection" and
select item „Properties".
7. Click on item „Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and then
click on button „Properties".
8. Select „Obtain an IP address automatically ".
9. Select „Obtain DNS server address automatically ".
10. Click on button „OK“.

Entering login informations
Insert the enclosed installation CD into your computer.
If you can not open its contents automatically, run SetupWizard.exe.
Then you will appear on the screen the following window:
Then click on button Start and continue by instructions.

Checking connection
Telephone – checking the functionality of telephone/digital line
In handset of your phone / fax you have to hear a dial tone. Try to call and check
the sound quality of handset. If you installed the device correctly, the sound quality
in the telephone handset should not be other to the state before installing.
Possible problems:
- do not hear a dial tone
- from the phone to hear disturbing sounds (noise, cracking)
- can not make a call
During the installation of DSL connection may cause to outage of the telephone
line, digital line can be fucntional until 1 minute after connecting to NT splitter. If
such failure is not remedied even after re-checking connection by manual, contact
the hotline service.
Modem – checking functionality of DSL connection
Check state of indicator lights on your modem and compare their state with
description.
Modem should be in a calm state.
PWR - light, if modems has power supply
DSL - light, if modem is synchronized with DSL line
ACT – flashing by data traffic, light in a calm state
LAN - flashing, when the network interface is active
Possible problems:
- on modem is not lighting any LED
- a state of LEDs does not match of a calm state of modem
- PC did not find modem
If you find any discrepancies, please, check again the whole installation procedure.
If you can not solve the problem, contact Technical Support.

Before installation check the functionality of your traditional telephone or ISDN
line, functionality of network card in your PC and check the content of the package.
We assume no responsibility for the proper installation of the operating system and
secure your PC against security threats associated with the use of the Internet,
before connecting the PC to the Internet so you should install on your computer
appropriate security programs.

Your PC must meet the following minimum requirements:
Windows 98SE/2000/ME/NT/XP/Vista/Windows 7, Linux, Mac OS, network card
10/100/1000 Mb, Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer
If you are even following the procedure in this guide can not connect the internet,
we recommend to reset modem with button „RESET“ on the back of the modem.
Reset of modem Glitel GT-5802W with button RESET
a) Switch off DSL modem with button ON/OFF (button set to state OFF)
b) On the back of DSL modem find the hole, over is marked „RESET“. Push, for
example with ballpoint pen tip into the hole (which is also a reset button) and hold
throughout the process.
c) While holding the button „RESET“, switch on the DSL modem with button
ON/OFF (button set to state), but still hold pressed the button „RESET“ min. 10
seconds.
You have made a complete reset and your modem has factory settings:
1. IP address 192.168.1.1
2. User name: admin
3. User password: adslroot
After reseting modem has been cleared all your settings and also your login infor-
mation. Is therefore necessary to put them again as described in 1. page 6.

GLITEL Stropkov, s.r.o. offers to a buyer the guarantee of quality and
functionality of the product. The warranty applies only in the country
where the product was purchased. The warranty period for the product is
12 months.
The warranty period begins from the date of sale of the product which
was recorded in the warranty card.
The warranty period shall be extended for a period when the product is
in warranty repair.
In the event of product failure or defect within the warranty period, which
was not the fault of the buyer or the person using the product, the product
will be repaired under the conditions recorded in the warranty card,
which is the part of device package.
If by the repair of the product were found defects which are not included
in the guarantee, the price of repairs shall be fully borne by the buyer.
