GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING. Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless)
power tool.
1. WORK AREA SAFETY
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3. PERSONAL SAFETY
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the
off position before plugging in. Carrying power tools with
your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times. This enables better control of the power tool
in unexpected situations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of these devices
can reduce dust related hazards.
4. POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job

better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn
it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool
or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Always unplug your power tool when leaving
unattended. Such preventative safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally
by untrained users.
f. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power tools
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
g. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
h. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.,
in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the particular type of power
tool, taking into account the working conditions and
the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in
a hazardous situation.
5. SERVICE
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Additional safety rules for sanders
WARNINGS. Before connecting a tool to a power source
(mains switch power point receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure
that the voltage supply is the same as that specified on the
nameplate of the tool. A power source with a voltage greater
than that specified for the tool can result in serious injury to
the user, as well as damage to the tool. If in doubt, do not
plug in the tool. Using a power source with a voltage less
than the nameplate rating is harmful to the motor.
Always remove the plug from the mains socket before
making any adjustments or maintenance, including
changing the sanding belt.
• Fully unwind cable drum extensions to avoid potential
overheating.
• When an extension cable is required, you must ensure
that it has the right ampere rating for your power tool
and is in safe electrical condition.
• After long working periods external metal parts and
accessories could be hot.
• If possible, always use clamps or a vice to hold your work.
• Always switch off before you put the sander down.
•Do not force the sander; let the tool do the work at
a reasonable speed. Overloading will occur if too
much pressure is applied and the motor slows
resulting in inefficient sanding and possible damage
to the sander motor.
• When sanding wood, always connect the dust bag
or use a dust extraction system.
• Before using the sander with metal, always remove
the dust bag from the outlet as sparks may ignite the
dust or the bag.
• Do not continue to use worn, torn or heavily clogged
sanding belts.
• Do not touch the moving sanding belt.
• Ensure that you have removed foreign objects such as nails
and screws from the work before commencing sanding.
• Rags, cloths, cord, string and the like should never be left
around the work area.

• Use safety equipment including safety goggles
or shield, ear protection, dust mask and protective
clothing including safety gloves.

The tool must be used only for its prescribed purpose.
Any use other than those mentioned in this Manual will
be considered a case of misuse. The user and not the
manufacturer shall be liable for any damage or injury
resulting from such cases of misuse.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any changes made
to the tool nor for any damage resulting from such changes.
Even when the tool is used as prescribed it is not possible to
eliminate all residual risk factors. The following hazards may
arise in connection with the tool’s construction and design:
• Damage to the lungs if an effective dust mask is not worn.
• Damage to hearing if effective earmuffs are not worn.
Unpacking
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your GMC Power Tool is faulty or that a part is missing.
If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the
parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.

Switching on and off
1. Pull the on/off trigger (5) upward to start the sander (Fig. A).
2. By pulling the switch on and pressing the lock-on button
(4), you can lock the sander on (Fig. B).
3. Pulling the switch on again and releasing it turns the
sander off.
Adjusting the speed
The speed can be adjusted to
suit the material being sanded.
1. To adjust the speed, move the
variable speed control (13)
until you are satisfied that the
speed is what you need for the
job in hand (Fig. C).
Attaching a sanding sheet
CAUTION: Switch off the sander and disconnect it from the
power point.
1. Turn the belt tension lever (7)
to release the tension on the
belt and slide off the old belt
(Fig. D).
2. Check that the replacement
belt has a good join and is not
frayed at the edges.
3. Slip the new belt into position
with the rotation arrow on the
inside of the belt pointing in the same direction as the
arrow on the sander (Fig. E).
4. Turn the belt tension lever (7) anti-clockwise to re-tension
the belt (Fig. F).
5. Plug the sander into a power
point and with the sander held
tight, pull the on/off trigger
switch (5) and allow the belt to
rotate for a short period (Fig.G).
6. Whilst the belt is running,
adjust the tracking knob (10)
to align the belt to the centre
of the roller (6). Repeat the
trigger action and tracking
adjustment until the belt is
correctly aligned. Run the
sander for a minute or so
to ensure correct alignment
before using the sander on a
workpiece (Fig. H).
WARNING: Do not continue to
use the sander with a sanding
belt that is overworn or damaged.
WARNING: Do not use the same sanding belt for wood and
metal. Metal particles become embedded in the belt and will
scour a wooden surface.
Selecting the right grade of sanding belt
Different grades of sanding belt can be purchased from your
local hardware store. Typical grades are Coarse (40 grit),
Medium (80 and 100 grit) and Fine (120 grit).
Use Coarse grade to remove rough finishes, Medium grade
to smooth the work and Fine grade to finish it off. It is best

to make a trial run on a scrap piece of material to determine
the optimum grades of belt for a particular job.
In order to take full advantage of your sander, always
purchase good quality belts.
Note. After sanding with a belt sander, an orbital sander
should be used to give a better surface finish.
Sanding
1. The sander is designed for sanding wood, metal, plastic
and similar materials. It is used mainly for quickly removing
a large amount of material. Do not use this sander for
sanding magnesium.
2. Ensure that the belt is in
good condition.
3. Plug in the tool to the
power socket.
4. Bring down the sander onto
the work piece and apply
light pressure (Fig. I).
5. Pull up the trigger switch (5)
and allow the belt to reach
full speed before moving it
across the work (Fig. J).
6. Press the lock-on button (4) if
you require continuous operation.
7. Sand with the grain, in parallel
overlapping strokes.
8. To remove paint or smooth
very rough wood, sand
across the grain at 45º in two
directions, and then finish
parallel with the grain.
9. Use the front roller (8) only
to sand corners or irregular
shapes (Fig. K).
10. Lift the sander off the work
before switching off.
11. Remember to keep your hands away from the moving
belt, as it will continue to move for a short time after the
machine is switched off.
12. Wear safety goggles, a dust mask and earmuffs.
Dust extraction
1. Disconnect the plug from the power supply.
2. To remove the dust extraction
adaptor and canister squeeze
the two catches on either side
of the dust extraction adaptor.
The canister and adaptor will
release (Fig. L).
3. Pull the canister away from the
adaptor, remove the dust bag
and empty it (Fig. M & N).
WARNING: For optimum dust removal, empty the dust bag
when it is no more than half full.
Do not use the dust bag when sanding metal. The hot
metal particles could cause residual wood dust or the bag
itself to catch fire. A vacuum cleaner adaptor can be used
to connect a household vacuum cleaner or workshop dust
extraction system to the sander. The adaptor fits into the
dust extraction port (11).
IMPORTANT. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected
supply with a residual tripping current of 30mA or less. Use
of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight.
• The supply cord of the tool and any extension cord used
should be checked frequently for damage. If damaged,
have the cordset replaced by a power tool repair centre.
Replace the extension cord if necessary.
Cleaning
1. Keep the tool’s air vents unclogged and clean at all times.
2. Remove dust and dirt regularly. Cleaning is best done
with a soft brush or a rag.
3. Re-lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
4. If the body of the sander needs cleaning, wipe it with
a soft damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but
nothing like alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.
5. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
CAUTION: Water must never come into contact with
the sander.

Algemene veiligheidsregels
WAARSCHUWING. Lees alle instructies door. Het niet
opvolgen van alle instructies die hieronder vermeld staan,
kan resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of
ernstig letsel. De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle
hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op
uw op de stroom aangesloten (met een snoer) elektrische
gereedschap of uw met een accu (snoerloos) bediende
elektrische gereedschap.
Bewaar deze instructies
1. Werkgebied
a. Houd het werkgebied schoon en zorg voor een goede
verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak
tot ongelukken.
b. Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve
omgevingen, zoals bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid
van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen
kunnen doen ontbranden.
c. Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding kunt u
de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2. Veiligheid met betrekking tot elektriciteit
a. De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap
moeten passen bij het stopcontact. U mag op geen
enkele manier de stekker aanpassen. Gebruik geen
adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het
gebruikmaken van ongewijzigde stekkers en bijpassende
stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een elektrische
schok.
b. Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde
oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en
koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt
toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.
c. Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden.
Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d. Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit
om te dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het
stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer verwijderd van
hitte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Door
beschadigde of in de knoop geraakte snoeren neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e. Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt,
maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt
is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Het gebruik van een snoer
dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis vermindert het
risico op een elektrische schok.
3. Persoonlijke veiligheid
a. Blijf alert, houd uw aandacht gericht op wat u aan
het doen bent en gebruik uw gezonde verstand
wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik
het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent
of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Eén
moment van onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van
elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk
letsel.
b. Maak gebruik van veiligheidsmateriaal. Draag altijd
oogbescherming. Veiligheidsmateriaal dat onder
de juiste omstandigheden gebruikt wordt, zoals een
stofmasker, niet-slippend veiligheidsschoeisel, een helm
of oorbescherming, vermindert persoonlijk letsel.
c. Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt
gestart. Kijk of de schakelaar in de uit-stand staat
voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het
dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de
schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch
gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d. Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het
elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van
het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot
persoonlijk letsel.
e. Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo
houdt u meer controle over het elektrische gereedschap
in onverwachte situaties.
f. Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende
kleding of sieraden. Houd uw haar, kleding en

handschoenen weg van bewegende delen. Loshangende
kleding, sieraden of lang haar kunnen in bewegende
delen terechtkomen.
g. Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en
stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan
aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik
van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stofgerelateerde
ongelukken verminderen.
4. Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a. Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik
elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk dat
u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt
beter en veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de
schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt. Elk
elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met
de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c. Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
instellingen aanpast, accessoires verandert of
het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke
voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d. Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is
op buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen die
niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of
met deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap
niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de
handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e. Haal altijd de stekker van het elektrisch gereedschap
uit het stopcontact indien u dit onbeheerd achterlaat.
Dergelijke preventieve veiligheidsmaatregelen
verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het
elektrische gereedschap door ongeoefende gebruikers.
f. Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op
foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van bewegende
delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap
zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische
gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren
voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden
veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden elektrisch
gereedschap.
g. Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed
onderhouden scherp snijdende snijwerktuigen slaan
minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
h. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, de accessoires
en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en
zoals is bedoeld voor elk specifiek type elektrisch
gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met
de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren
werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor
werkzaamheden die verschillen van die waarvoor het
apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot een gevaarlijke
situatie.
5. Onderhoud
a. Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden
door een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen
identieke vervangende onderdelen. Zo bent u er zeker
van dat de veiligheid van het elektrische gereedschap
gewaarborgd blijft.
Bijkomende veiligheidsregels voor
schuurmachines
WAARSCHUWINGEN. Voordat u gereedschap met de
stroom verbindt (stopcontact, verlengsnoer, etc.), dient u
ervoor te zorgen dat het voltage gelijk is aan wat op het
gegevensplaatje van het gereedschap wordt vermeld.
Indien het voltage van de stroombron hoger is dan op het
gereedschap vermeld staat, kan dit leiden tot ernstig letsel
voor de gebruiker en schade aan het gereedschap. Verbind
het gereedschap niet met de stroom indien u twijfelt. Indien
u een stroombron gebruikt met een voltage dat lager is dan
op het gegevensplaatje staat vermeld, is dit schadelijk voor
de motor.
Haal altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
instellingen aanpast of onderhoud pleegt, inclusief het
vervangen van de schuurband.
• Rol verlengsnoeren op een kabelhaspel volledig uit om
mogelijke oververhitting te voorkomen.
• Indien u een verlengsnoer nodig hebt, dient u ervoor te

zorgen dat het de juiste ampère heeft voor uw elektrische
gereedschap en in goede staat is.
• Na langdurig gebruik kunnen accessoires en metalen
delen aan de buitenkant heet zijn.
• Gebruik indien mogelijk altijd een klem of bankschroef om
uw werk vast te houden.
• Schakel de schuurmachine altijd uit voordat u hem
neerlegt.
• Forceer de schuurmachine niet; laat het gereedschap
het werk doen op een redelijke snelheid. Er ontstaat
overbelasting als u teveel druk uitoefent en de motor
draait langzamer, wat resulteert in minder efficiënt
schuren en mogelijke schade aan de motor van de
schuurmachine.
• Wanneer u hout schuurt, dient u altijd de stofzak te
bevestigen of een stofafzuigsysteem te gebruiken.
• Voordat u de schuurmachine op metaal gebruikt, dient u
altijd eerst de stofzak te verwijderen, omdat vonken het
stof of de zak kunnen doen ontbranden.
• Blijf versleten, gescheurde of zwaar dichtgeslibde
schuurbanden niet gebruiken.
• Raak een bewegende schuurband niet aan.
• Zorg ervoor dat u vreemde objecten zoals spijkers en
schroeven uit het werk hebt verwijderd voordat u begint
met schuren.
• Lappen, kleden, snoeren, koorden en dergelijke mogen
nooit in het werkgebied rondslingeren.
• Maak gebruik van veiligheidsmateriaal, inclusief
een veiligheidsbril of -schild, gehoorbescherming,
stofmasker en beschermende kleding inclusief
veiligheidshandschoenen.

Het gereedschap mag alleen gebruikt worden voor het
voorgeschreven doel. Elk ander doel dan vermeld staat
in deze handleiding wordt beschouwd als misbruik. De
gebruiker en niet de fabrikant is vervolgens aansprakelijk
voor eventuele schade of eventueel letsel ten gevolge van
dergelijke gevallen van misbruik.
De fabrikant is niet verantwoordelijk voor eventuele
wijzigingen die gedaan worden aan het gereedschap, noch
voor eventuele schade die het resultaat is van dergelijke
wijzigingen.
Zelfs wanneer het gereedschap gebruikt wordt zoals
is voorgeschreven, is het niet mogelijk alle resterende
risicofactoren te elimineren. De volgende gevaren kunnen
zich voordoen met betrekking tot de constructie en het
ontwerp van het gereedschap:
• Longschade indien er geen goed werkend stofmasker
wordt gedragen.
• Gehoorschade indien er geen goed werkende
gehoorbeschermers worden gedragen.
Uitpakken
Vanwege de moderne massaproductietechnieken is het niet
waarschijnlijk dat uw GMC-gereedschap gebreken vertoont
of dat er een onderdeel ontbreekt. Als u ziet dat er iets
niet in orde is, gebruik het gereedschap dan niet totdat de
onderdelen vervangen zijn of het defect is hersteld. Indien u
dit niet doet, kan dit leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel.

Aan- en uitschakelen
1. Trek de aan/uit-trekkerschakelaar (5) naar boven om de
schuurmachine te starten (Afb. A).
2. Door de schakelaar aan te trekken en de vergrendelknop
(4) in te drukken, kunt u de schuurmachine vergrendelen
(Afb. B).
3. Door opnieuw aan de schakelaar te trekken en deze
weer los te laten, schakelt de schuurmachine uit.
De snelheid instellen
U kunt de snelheid aanpassen
aan het materiaal dat wordt
geschuurd.
1. Om de snelheid in te stellen,
beweegt u de variabele
snelheidsknop (13) tot u de
gewenste snelheid voor uw
werkstuk hebt gevonden
(Afb. C).
Schuurpapier bevestigen
LET OP: Schakel de schuurmachine uit en haal de stekker
uit het stopcontact.
1. Draai aan de hendel
bandspanning (7) zodat de
spanning op de band afneemt
en schuif de oude band eraf
(Afb. D).
2. Controleer of de vervangende
band een goede verbinding
heeft en niet gerafeld is langs
de randen.
3. Schuif de nieuwe band op zijn plaats waarbij de rotatiepijl
aan de binnenkant van de band in dezelfde richting moet
wijzen als de pijl op de schuurmachine (Afb. E).
4. Draai de hendel bandspanning (7) linksom om de band
weer op spanning te brengen (Afb. F).
5. Steek de stekker in het
stopcontact, houd de
schuurmachine goed
vast, trek aan de aan/uit-
trekkerschakelaar (5) en laat
de band korte tijd roteren (Afb.
G).
6. Terwijl de band loopt, stelt
u de spoor-stelknop (10) zo
in dat de band op één lijn
ligt met het midden van de
cilinder (6). Herhaal de actie
met de trekkerschakelaar en
de spoor-stelknop totdat de
band goed is uitgelijnd. Laat
de schuurmachine ongeveer
een minuut lopen om er zeker
van te zijn dat hij correct
is uitgelijnd voordat u de
schuurmachine gebruikt op een werkstuk (Afb. H).
WAARSCHUWING: Blijf de schuurmachine niet gebruiken
met een schuurband die versleten of beschadigd is.
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik niet dezelfde schuurband voor
hout en metaal. Metalen deeltjes gaan in de band vastzitten
en zullen over een houten oppervlak schuren.

De juiste kwaliteit schuurband kiezen
U kunt verschillende soorten schuurtrommels kopen bij uw
plaatselijke leverancier. Kenmerkende kwaliteiten zijn Grof
(40 grit), Medium (80 en 100 grit) en Fijn (120 grit).
Gebruik grove kwaliteit voor een grove afwerking, medium
om het werk glad te maken en fijn om het af te werken. U
kunt het beste testen op een stuk afval van het materiaal
om te bepalen welke schuurband het beste is voor een
bepaald werkstuk.
Koop altijd schuurbanden van goede kwaliteit om uw
schuurmachine optimaal te kunnen benutten.
Let op. Na het schuren met een bandschuurmachine kunt u
met een vlakschuurmachine het oppervlak nog verbeteren.
Schuren
1. De schuurmachine is bestemd
voor het schuren van hout,
metaal, plastic en dergelijke
materialen. De machine wordt
voornamelijk gebruikt om
grote hoeveelheden materiaal
snel te verwijderen. Gebruik
deze schuurmachine niet om
magnesium te schuren.
2. Zorg ervoor dat de band in
goede conditie is.
3. Steek de stekker van
het gereedschap in het
stopcontact.
4. Zet de schuurmachine op het
werkstuk en oefen lichte druk
uit (Afb. I).
5. Trek de trekkerschakelaar (5)
omhoog en laat de band op
volle snelheid komen voordat
u hem over het werk beweegt
(Afb. J).
6. Druk op de vergrendelknop (4)
als u continu wilt doorschuren.
7. Schuur met de nerf mee, in parallelle, overlappende
stroken.
8. Om verf te verwijderen of erg ruw hout glad te maken,
schuurt u 45o dwars op de nerf in twee richtingen, daarna
eindigt u met een parallelle strook met de nerf mee.
9. Gebruik de cilinder voor (8) alleen om hoeken of
onregelmatige vormen te schuren (afb. K).
10. Til de schuurmachine van het werk voordat u hem
uitschakelt.
11. Vergeet niet uw handen weg te houden van de
bewegende schuurband, deze blijft namelijk nog enige
tijd bewegen nadat de machine is uitgeschakeld.
12. Draag een veiligheidsbril, een stofmasker en
gehoorbeschermers.
Stofafvoer
1. Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact.
2. Om de stofafvoeradapter
en -opvang te verwijderen,
knijpt u in de twee grepen
aan beide kanten van de
stofafvoeradapter. De opvang
en de adapter komen dan los
(Afb. L).
3. Trek de opvang van de
adapter, verwijder de stofzak
en leeg deze (Afb. M en N).
WAARSCHUWING: Voor de beste stofafvoer dient u de
stofzak te legen als deze nog maar half vol is.
Gebruik de stofzak niet wanneer u metaal schuurt. De
hete metalen deeltjes kunnen restjes houtstof of de zak

zelf vlam doen vatten. U kunt een stofzuigerhulpstuk
gebruiken om een huishoudstofzuiger of een professioneel
stofafvoersysteem te verbinden met de schuurmachine. Het
hulpstuk past in de stofafvoeropening (11).
BELANGRIJK. Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch
gereedschap te gebruiken in een vochtige omgeving,
gebruik dan een energiebron die beschermd wordt door een
reststroomapparaat (RCD) met een afschakelaar bij 30 mA
of minder. Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert het risico
op een elektrische schok.
Algemene controle
• Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsschroeven nog
goed vast zitten.
• U dient het snoer van het gereedschap en een
eventueel verlengsnoer regelmatig te controleren
op beschadigingen. Indien het snoer beschadigd
is, dient u de snoerenset te laten vervangen in een
reparatiecentrum voor elektrisch gereedschap. Vervang
indien nodig het verlengsnoer.
Reinigen
1. Houd de ventilatieopeningen van het gereedschap altijd
schoon en open.
2. Verwijder regelmatig stof en vuil. Reinigen gaat het beste
met een zachte borstel of een doek.
3. Smeer alle bewegende delen regelmatig.
4. Als de behuizing van de schuurmachine gereinigd moet
worden, neem deze dan af met een zachte, vochtige
doek. U mag een mild reinigingsmiddel gebruiken,
maar geen stoffen als alcohol, benzine of andere
reinigingsmiddelen.
5. Gebruik nooit bijtende middelen om plastic onderdelen te
reinigen.
LET OP: De schuurmachine mag nooit in contact komen
met water.
