WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A) and limit the time of exposure
if necessary. If sound levels are uncomfortable, even with ear protection, stop using the tool immediately and
check the ear protection is correctly fitted and provides the correct level of sound attenuation for the level of
sound produced by your tool.
WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch, numbness, tingling and
reduced ability to grip. Long-term exposure can lead to a chronic condition. If necessary, limit the length of
time exposed to vibration and use anti-vibration gloves. Do not operate the tool with hands below a normal

General Safety
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced,
physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated
(cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter
plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of
electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk
of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a
cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do
not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power
source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on
the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the
power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these
are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool
will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool
repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking
into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Grinder Safety
a) This power tool is intended to function as a grinder, sander, wire brush or cut-off tool. Read all
safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with the power tool. Failure
to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
b) Operations such as polishing are not recommended to be performed with this power tool.
Operations for which the power tool was not designed may create a hazard and cause personal injury.
c) Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and recommended by the tool
manufacturer. Just because the accessory can be attached to your power tool it does not assure safe
operation.
d) The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the maximum speed marked on the
power tool. Accessories running faster than their rated speed can break and fly apart.
e) The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must be within the capacity rating of
your power tool. Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be adequately guarded or controlled.
f) The arbor size of wheels, flanges, backing pads or any other accessory must properly fit on the
spindle of your power tool. Accessories with arbor holes that do not match the mounting hardware of
the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively and may cause loss of control.
g) Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use inspect the accessory such as abrasive wheels
for chips and cracks, backing pad for cracks, tear or excess wear, wire brush, wire, wire brush
for loose or cracked wires. If power tool or accessory is dropped, inspect for damage or install
an undamaged accessory. After inspecting and installing an accessory, position yourself and
bystanders away from the plane of the rotating accessory and run the power tool at maximum
no-load speed for one minute. Damaged accessories will normally break apart during this test time.
h) Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use faceshield, safety goggles or
safety glasses. As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves and workshop apron
capable of stopping small abrasive or workpiece fragments. Eye protection must be capable of
stopping flying debris generated by various operations. The dust mask or respirator must be capable of
filtrating particles generated by your operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise may cause
hearing loss.
i) Keep bystanders a safe distance away from the work area. Anyone entering the work area must
wear personal protective equipment. Fragments of workpiece or of a broken accessory may fly away
and cause injury beyond immediate area of operation.
j) Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, when performing an operation where the
cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a ‘live’
wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool ‘live’ and could give the operator an electric shock.
k) Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory. If you lose control, the cord may be cut or snagged
and your hand or arm may be pulled into the spinning accessory.
l) Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to a complete stop. The spinning
accessory may grab the surface and pull the power tool out of your control.
m) Do not run the power tool while carrying it to your side. Accidental contact with the spinning
accessory may snag clothing, pulling the accessory towards your body.
n) Regularly clean the power tool’s vents. The motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the housing and
excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.
o) Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite these materials.
p) Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. Using water or other liquid coolants may result in
electrocution or shock.

Kickback and Related Warnings
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating wheel, backing pad, brush or any other
accessory. Pinching or snagging causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory which in turn causes the
uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the direction opposite of the accessory’s rotation at the point of the
binding.
For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched by the workpiece, the edge of the wheel that is
entering into the pinch point can dig into the surface of the material causing the wheel to climb out or kick
out. The wheel may either jump towards or away from the operator, depending on direction of the wheel’s
movement at the point of pinching. Abrasive wheels may also break under these conditions.
Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be
avoided by taking proper precautions as given below.
a) Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your body an arm to allow you to resist
kickback forces. Always use auxiliary handle, if provided, for maximum control over kickback or
torque reaction during start up. The operator can control torque reactions or kickback forces, if proper
precautions are taken.
b) Never place your hand near the rotating accessory. Accessory may kickback over your hand.
c) Do not position your body in the area where power tool will move if kickback occurs. Kickback will
propel the tool in the direction opposite to the wheel’s movement at the point of snagging.
d) Use special care when working corners, sharp edges etc. Avoid bouncing and snagging the
accessory. Corners, sharp edges or bouncing have a tendency to snag the rotating accessory and cause
loss of control or kickback.
e) Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed saw blade. Such blades create frequent
kickback and loss of control.
Safety Warnings Specific for Grinding and
Abrasive Cutting-Off Operations
a) Use only wheel types that are recommended for your power tool and the specific guard designed
for the selected wheel. Wheels for which the power tool was not designed cannot be adequately
guarded and are unsafe.
b) The guard must be securely attached to the power tool and positioned for maximum safety, so the
least amount of wheel is exposed towards the operator. The guard helps to protect the operator from
broken wheel fragments, accidental contact with wheel, and sparks that could ignite clothing.
c) Wheels must be used only for recommended applications. For example: do not grind with the side
of the cut-off wheel. Abrasive cut-off wheels are intended for peripheral grinding; side forces applied to
these wheels may cause them to shatter.
d) Always use undamaged wheel flanges that are of correct size and shape for your selected wheel.
Proper wheel flanges support the wheel, thus reducing the possibility of wheel breakage. Flanges for
cut-off wheels may be different from grinding wheel flanges.
e) Do not use worn down wheels from larger power tools. Wheels intended for larger power tools are not
suitable for the higher speed of a smaller tool and may burst.
Additional Safety Warnings Specific for
Abrasive Cutting-Off Operations
a) Do not ‘jam’ the cut-off wheel or apply excessive pressure. Do not attempt to make an excessive
depth of cut. Overstressing the wheel increases the loading and susceptibility to twisting or binding of
the wheel in the cut and the possibility of kickback or wheel breakage.
b) Do not position your body in line with and behind the rotating wheel. When the wheel, at the point of
operation, is moving away from your body, the possible kickback may propel the spinning wheel and the
power tool directly at you.
c) When wheel is binding or when interrupting a cut for any reason, switch off the power tool
and hold the power tool motionless until the wheel comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to
remove the cut-off wheel from the cut while the wheel is in motion otherwise kickback may occur.
Investigate and take corrective action to eliminate the cause of wheel binding.
d) Do not restart the cutting operation in the workpiece. Let the wheel reach full speed and
carefully re-enter the cut. The wheel may bind, walk up or kickback if the power tool is restarted in the
workpiece.
e) Support panels or any oversized workpiece to minimise the risk of wheel pinching and kickback.
Large workpieces tend to sag under their own weight. Supports must be placed under the workpiece near
the line of cut and near the edge of the workpiece on both sides of the wheel
f) Use extra caution when making a ‘pocket cut’ into existing walls or other blind areas. The
protruding wheel may cut gas or water pipes, electrical wiring or objects that can cause kickback.
Safety Warnings Specific for Sanding
Operations
a) Do not use excessively oversized sanding disc paper. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations,
when selecting sanding paper. Larger sanding paper extending beyond the sanding pad presents a
laceration hazard and may cause snagging, tearing of the disc, or kickback.
Safety Warnings Specific for Wire
Brushing Operations
a) Be aware that wire bristles are thrown by the brush even during ordinary operation. Do not
overstress the wires by applying excessive load to the brush. The wire bristles can easily penetrate
light clothing and/or skin.
b) If the use of the guard is recommended for wire brushing, do not allow any interference of the
wire wheel or brush with the guard. Wire wheel or brush may expand in diameter due to work load and
centrifugal forces.
Additional Grinder Safety
WARNING: When using straight and depressed centre cutting-off wheels (type 41 and 42) plus grinding
wheels that grind on the edge only (type 1), a cutting guard or cut-off guard must be fitted.
WARNING: DO NOT operate a grinder without the appropriate guards in place. Reset the guard if the
work angle or the position of the person operating the machine changes.
WARNING: Always check for an expiry date of the grinding or cutting disc before use (remove from tool
if necessary). This will be either printed on the label or stamped on the inner steel ring of the disc. DO NOT
use an expired disc as it may shatter in use.
• The grinding surface of the centre depressed wheels must be mounted below the plane of the
guard lip. An improperly mounted wheel that projects through the plane of the guard lip cannot be
adequately protected
• Do not touch grinding or cutting discs after use until they have cooled down
• Reset the on/off switch of the tool to the ‘off’ position whenever the power is interrupted
• The machine can be subject to overload if too much application force is exerted. Overload can lead
to overheating and damage of the power tool. After use, continue to run the tool at no-load for several
minutes in order to cool it down by using the fan of the motor
• When operating the grinder, it is an essential safety requirement that the correct type of guard is
installed for each application to prevent injury. For example, a cutting guard must be installed when
using a cutting or diamond disc, and a grinding guard must be used with grinding discs
• Grinding tool accessories must be mounted, used and stored in compliance with the
manufacturer’s recommendations
• Use the correct type of cutting or grinding disc for the task and material. Check the label on the disc
or accessory to find out if it is appropriate to use on the workpiece
• If discs are supplied with blotters they must be fitted and used correctly. Not fitting blotters may
cause the disc to shatter in use and be a safety risk
• Ensure the cutting/grinding disc or accessory is fitted correctly and securely before use. Run the
machine with the disc or accessory fitted, but without load, for a reasonable time before attempting to
cut/grind. If excessive vibration occurs, stop the machine, investigate and correct the cause before use.
Seek professional guidance if you are in doubt about how to operate the machine safely
• Do not allow discs to become wet or contaminated with oil. If you suspect a disc has degraded in
storage, or if you are unsure whether its expiry date has passed, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD
• Do not attempt to cut or grind magnesium or any alloy that has high magnesium content
• Hold the machine appropriately to ensure that debris produced does not land on skin or clothing
• Do not touch the spindle lock button while the tool is operating
• A grinding disc will gradually wear down during use, reducing its size. If a disc becomes too small
to work with easily, stop using it and replace it with a new disc

Additional Safety For Super Abrasives
• Superabrasives are generally inflexible and could shatter, so must be handled with the utmost
care. Damaged or improperly mounted superabrasives are dangerous and can cause SEVERE injury to the
user and other people in the vicinity
• Types of superabrasive wheels include diamond cutting discs, welded metal discs, CBN discs etc.
Choose your superabrasive tool carefully, taking into consideration the workpiece material, the machine
dimensions and capabilities. Make sure the machine does not exceed the maximum operating speed of
the superabrasive disc
• NEVER use superabrasive cutting discs for side grinding, as this might lead to the disc shattering
• Superabrasive wheels have to be carefully inspected and tested before mounting. Metal wheels
should be subjected to a sound test: hold the wheel on a mandrel or with a finger inserted through the
bore, then tap it with a non-metallic object at several points and listen each time to the sound produced.
An intact wheel will produce a clear ‘bell like’ metallic sound. Damaged wheels will give a dull, chattering
sound. If in doubt, DO NOT USE, MARK AS DAMAGED AND DISCARD
• Make sure the machine’s mounting flange is compatible with the superabrasive wheel. Refer to the
manufacturer’s mounting instructions
• ALWAYS conduct a test run after mounting, with no load for at least 30 seconds, to determine
if the wheel runs balanced and does not produce excessive vibration. If it does, switch off
IMMEDIATELY, remove the disc, inspect, re-mount and re-test if no damage is detected
• If planning on using the superabrasive wheel with a coolant, liquid dust suppressant or lubricant,
first check if the wheel, machine and workpiece are compatible with wet cutting and with the
compound to be used. Always apply liquid to an already running wheel, never to a non-moving tool, as
the unbalance could lead to the rupture of the wheel. When switching off, remove the liquid supply first
and let the machine run at no-load, until centrifugal forces have drained all liquid from the wheel. Dry off
the wheel after use, and prevent liquid from being absorbed into the wheel

Intended Use
Angle grinder suitable for light to medium duty grinding of metal and other materials with a fitted disc of the
correct type. Suitable for cutting various materials when fitted with the supplied cutting guard. Also suitable
for wire brushing and sanding applications with the optional purchases of compatible accessories.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged
have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Always unplug the grinder from the mains supply before attempting to fit or replace any
attachment. Never fit any attachment with a maximum speed lower than the no load speed of the machine.
• All discs and accessories must be subjected to a visual inspection prior to installation, to ensure they are
in good condition and within their expiry date. If in doubt, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD
• Always check all parts and attachments are secure, and that rotating parts will not foul on guards or
machine case
• Always hold the machine, using both hands, by the handles provided
• Be aware that the cast metal gear housing may get hot during use
• Hot air will be emitted from the ventilation holes
• Ensure that the ventilation holes are not obscured in any way
• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the task. Use of this machine requires ear

Fitting the auxiliary handle
WARNING: To ensure operator safety, ALWAYS use the Auxiliary Handle (8). Install it at the most appropriate
position for the individual task.
1. Screw the Auxiliary Handle clockwise into one of the three mounting points of the gear housing (Image C).
Tighten by hand
Note: The Auxiliary Handle can be mounted to the left or right hand side, or on top of the gear housing
(Image B).
2. Unscrew anti-clockwise to remove the Auxiliary Handle
Adjusting, removing and installing the wheel guards
WARNING: The correct guard MUST be installed for each application before operation commences. This is an
essential safety requirement.
WARNING: NEVER install a cutting disc or superabrasive cutting wheel without the correct cutting wheel
guard in place.
Note: The guard must be adjusted so that it is situated between the disc and the operator. Reset the guard if
the work angle or the position of the operator changes. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure how to
operate the guards or any other safety features of the machine correctly.
Note: The grinder is supplied with the Grinding Guard (9) pre-installed.
Adjusting the guard
1. Open the Quick-Release Clamp (1)
2. The guard can be moved through a range of approximately 90°, so that it can be placed between the disc
and the operator at any required work angle
3. Close the Quick-Release Clamp (Image D)
Note: If the Quick-Release Clamp is too loose or too tight, open completely and adjust the lever-tightening
screw.
Removing the guard
Note: Skip Step 1 if no disc is installed.
1. Depress the Spindle Lock Button (2), rotate the Spindle (11) until you feel the lock engage, use the Pin
Spanner (14) to remove the Outer Flange (12) and remove the disc
2. Open the Quick-Release Clamp (1), rotate the guard until the protrusions on the band of the guard are
aligned with the notches on the gear housing, and remove the guard (Image E)

Installing guard
1. Loosen the Quick-Release Clamp (1)
2. Align the protrusions on the wheel guard band with the notches on the gear housing
3. Push the guard onto the gear housing and adjust position
4. Close the Quick-Release Clamp
Note: If the clamp is too loose or too tight, open completely and adjust the lever-tightening screw.
Fitting a grinding, cutting or flap disc
Note: Ensure you have the correct guard installed for the disc you plan to install.
1. Ensure that the Inner Flange (13) is in place on the Spindle (11) and positively engaged
2. Place the cutting or grinding disc onto the Inner Flange
Note: If using depressed centre discs, ensure that the depression is positioned towards the Inner Flange.
Note: Ensure the direction indicator on the disc top surface is the same direction as the arrow indicator on the
front of the gear casing.
3. Screw the Outer Flange (12) onto the Spindle (11). The raised centre of the Outer Flange should face
towards the disc when installing a grinding disc, and away when installing a cutting disc
4. Depress the Spindle Lock Button (2) and rotate the Spindle until you feel the lock engage
5. You can now use the supplied Pin Spanner to fully tighten the Threaded Flange. When tight, release the
Spindle Lock Button. The grinder is now ready for use
6. To remove a disc, depress the Spindle Lock Button, rotate the Spindle until you feel the lock engage, and
use the Pin Spanner to remove the Threaded Flange
Fitting a wire cup brush
Note: When using the angle grinder with wire cup brushes, it may be beneficial to fit the Grinding Guard (9)
and rotate it beneath the Auxiliary Handle (8) purely for the benefit of protecting the operator’s hand.This will
depend on the design of the wire cup brush and the operation being performed.
1. Remove the Outer Flange (12), Grinding Disc (10) (if installed) and Inner Flange (13) from the Spindle (11)
2. Screw cup brush directly onto Spindle
3. Depress the Spindle Lock Button (2) and rotate the Spindle until you feel the lock engage
4. Tighten the cup brush with a suitable spanner. Release the Spindle Lock Button. The machine is now
ready for use
5. To remove a cup brush, depress the Spindle Lock Button, rotate the Spindle until you feel the lock engage,
then use a suitable spanner to remove the cup brush
Adjusting the swivel-action handle
Note: The main handle position of this angle grinder can be adjusted to suit the individual application and user
preference for different work positions. This increases operator safety and comfort dramatically when working
with heavy angle grinders.
1. Depress the Swivel-Action Button (3) (Image F)
2. Rotate the Rear Handle (4) into the desired position
Note: The Rear Handle rotates 90° clockwise or anticlockwise from its standard position (Image G).
3. Ensure the Rear Handle is firmly locked in position and the Swivel-Action Button has been released
Note: Change the Auxiliary Handle (8) to a position that best complements the orientation of the main Rear
Handle and suits the application.
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing protection, as well as suitable
gloves, when working with this tool.
Switching on and off
WARNING: Due to this angle grinder’s high power rating it is necessary to completely unwind the cable
of any extension leads or cable reels used to connect this device to the mains power supply.
Note: Do not switch the machine on/off when the disc is in contact with the workpiece.Always allow the motor
to reach its full speed before applying load, and to stop completely before placing the grinder down. Always
hold the machine securely, using both hands, on the handles provided
Note: Switching off the angle grinder under load will significantly reduce the service life of the on/off switch.
1. Start the machine by gripping the Rear Handle (4) and Auxiliary Handle (8) firmly
2. Shift the Lock-Off Device (6) forward and squeeze the On/Off Trigger Switch (5) (Image F)
3. Release the On/Off Trigger Switch to stop the machine
Grinding
• Only use discs specifically manufactured for grinding operations. Stone and metal grinding discs are not
interchangeable, use the correct disc for your application
• When grinding, keep the tool at approximately 15 to 30° to the workpiece surface (Image A)
Note: Do not apply too much pressure to the machine whilst grinding. Excessive pressure does not result in
more effective removal of material, but will in fact cause premature wear of the grinding disc and increase
wear and tear on the machine.
Cutting
WARNING: Always ensure the Cutting Guard (15) is fitted when using cutting discs.
Note: This machine is not designed for wet cutting.
• Only use discs specifically manufactured for cutting operations. Stone and metal cutting discs are not
interchangeable, use the correct disc for your application
• Never use cutting discs for grinding operations. The disc might shatter and produce projectiles that could
injure the operator and bystanders
• When cutting, always keep the angle of the disc constant. Do not apply any sideways force to cutting
discs, as this might lead to the disc becoming jammed in the cut and shattering
WARNING: Do not apply too much pressure to the machine whilst cutting. Excessive pressure does not result
in more effective or faster cutting, but will in fact cause premature wear of the cutting disc and increase wear
and tear on the machine.
Note: The cutting disc will wear during use, and the disc diameter will gradually reduce in size.The smaller
the disc becomes, the more strain will be placed on the motor. To avoid damage to the machine, only use
cutting discs that are no less than 75% of their original size.
Using a wire cup brush or wire wheel
Warning: Always check that the no-load speed of the grinder does not exceed the maximum speed of the cup
brush or wire wheel.
• Ensure that no part of the cup brush or wire wheel can come into contact with the machine housing
• Run the grinder, with cup brush or wire wheel attached, for at least 30 seconds before use to check that
the cup brush or wire wheel is secure, and properly balanced
• When using a wire cup brush or wire wheel, avoid applying excess pressure. Using greater force will not
make the cup brush or wire wheel more effective, but will bend the wires out of shape and damage the
brush

Maintenance
WARNING: Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before carrying out any maintenance/
cleaning.
WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when cleaning this tool.
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten the
device’s service life
• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufficient, a mild detergent on a
damp cloth is recommended
• Water must never come into contact with the tool
• Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it
• If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes (where applicable)
• Do not clean with organic solvents which is harmful to the power tool body material
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
• To replace the brushes, remove the Brush Access Covers (7) from both sides of the machine. Remove the
worn brushes and replace with new. Replace Brush Access Covers
• Alternatively, have the machine serviced at an authorised GMC service centre
Note: Always replace carbon brushes in pairs.
Storage
• After cleaning, always return the angle grinder and accessories to its bag or case (if supplied) for storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer functional and are
not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), with household

WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen van gehoorbescherming en

Algemene veiligheid
WAARSCHUWING Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet opvolgen van alle
voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met een verminderde mentale
of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de persoon wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een
persoon verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op uw
elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een snoer) of met een accu wordt gevoed
(snoerloos).
1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden
vaak tot ongelukken.
b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid
van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of
dampen kunnen doen ontbranden.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding
kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) Elektrische veiligheid
a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het stopcontact. Pas de stekker niet
aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde
stekkers en passende stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en
koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.
c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch gereedschap te dragen, te
trekken of om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie,
scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigd of in de knoop geraakt snoeren verhoogt het risico
op een elektrische schok toe.
e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat
geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis
om het risico op een elektrische schok te verminderen.
f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken in een vochtige omgeving, gebruik
dan een energiebron met een aard lek beveiliging (Residual Currency Device). Het gebruik van een
RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
g) WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de machine in Australië of Nieuw-Zeeland gebruikt wordt, met een
lekstroom van 30 mA of lager, is het gebruik van een aardlekschakelaar aanbevolen
3) Persoonlijke veiligheid
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik
het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of
medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril. Passende bescherming
voor de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende veiligheidsschoenen een helm of
gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op persoonlijk letsel.
c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart. Controleer of de schakelaar in de ‘uit’
stand staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met
uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar
ingeschakeld kan tot ongelukken leiden.
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot
letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer controle over het elektrische
gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden. Houd haren, kleding en
handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding, sieraden en los hangende
haren kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan aan en
gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stofgerelateerde
ongelukken verminderen.
4) Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk
dat u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt.
Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd
worden.
c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen aanpast, toebehoren verwisselt of het
elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen
die niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met deze instructies het elektrische
gereedschap niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van
bewegende delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking die de werking van het
elektrische gereedschap zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische gereedschap beschadigd
is, moet u het laten repareren voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door
slecht onderhouden elektrisch gereedschap.
f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden snijwerktuigen met scherpe messen slaan
minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, toebehoren en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en
volgens bestemming voor het specifieke type elektrisch gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening
met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor
werkzaamheden die verschillen van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke
situaties.
5) Onderhoud
a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen
identieke vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid van het elektrische gereedschap
gewaarborgd blijft.
Veiligheidsvoorschriften voor haakse
slijpmachines
Algemene waarschuwingen voor slijpen, schuren, borstelen en
snijen
a) De machine is bestemd voor gebruik als slijpmachine, schuurmachine, borstelmachine en
snijmachine. Neem alle waarschuwingen, aanwijzingen, afbeeldingen en gegevens die u bij de
machine ontvangt in acht. Als u de volgende aanwijzingen niet in acht neemt, kunnen een elektrische
schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel het gevolg zijn.
b) De machine is niet geschikt voor polijstwerkzaamheden. Toepassingen waarvoor de machine niet is
voorzien, kunnen gevaren en verwondingen veroorzaken.
c) Gebruik uitsluitend accessoires dat door de fabrikant speciaal voor de machine is voorzien en
geadviseerd. Het feit dat u het accessoires aan de machine kunt bevestigen, waarborgt nog geen veilig
gebruik.
d) Het toegestane toerental van het inzetgereedschap moet minstens even hoog zijn als het maximale
toerental dat op de machine vermeld staat. Accessoires dat sneller draait dan toegestaan, kan breken
en wegvliegen.
e) De buitendiameter en de dikte van het inzetgereedschap moeten overeenkomen met de
maatgegevens van de machine. Inzetgereedschappen met onjuiste afmetingen kunnen niet voldoende
afgeschermd of gecontroleerd worden.
f) Inzetgereedschappen met schroefdraadinzetstuk moeten nauwkeurig op de schroefdraad van de
uitgaande as passen. De gatdiameter van met een flens gemonteerde inzetgereedschappen moet
passen bij de opnamediameter van de flens. Inzetgereedschappen die niet nauwkeurig op de machine
bevestigd worden, draaien ongelijkmatig, trillen sterk en kunnen tot verlies van de controle leiden
g) Gebruik geen beschadigde inzetgereedschappen. Controleer voor het gebruik altijd
inzetgereedschappen zoals slijpschijven op afsplinteringen en scheuren, steunschijven op
scheuren of sterke slijtage en draadborstels op losse of gebroken draden. Als de machine of het
inzetgereedschap valt, dient u te controleren of het beschadigd is, of gebruik een onbeschadigd
inzetgereedschap. Als u het inzetgereedschap hebt gecontroleerd en ingezet, laat u de machine een
minuut lang met het maximale toerental lopen. Daarbij dient u en dienen andere personen uit de
buurt van het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap te blijven. Beschadigde inzetgereedschappen breken
meestal gedurende deze testtijd

h) Draag persoonlijke beschermende uitrusting. Gebruik afhankelijk van de toepassing een volledige
gezichtsbescherming, oogbescherming of veiligheidsbril. Draag voor zover van toepassing een
stofmasker, een gehoorbescherming, werkhandschoenen of een special schort dat kleine slijp- en
materiaaldeeltjes tegenhoudt. Uw ogen moeten worden beschermd tegen wegvliegende deeltjes die bij
verschillende toepassingen ontstaan. Een stof- of adembeschermingsmasker moet het bij de toepassing
ontstaande stof filteren. Als u lang wordt blootgesteld aan luid lawaai, kan uw gehoor worden beschadigd
i) Let erop dat andere personen zich op een veilige afstand bevinden van de plaats waar u werkt.
Iedereen die de werkomgeving betreedt, moet persoonlijke beschermende uitrusting dragen.
Brokstukken van het werkstuk of gebroken inzetgereedschappen kunnen wegvliegen en verwondingen
veroorzaken, ook buiten de directe werkomgeving.
j) Houd het gereedschap alleen aan de geïsoleerde greepvlakken vast als u werkzaamheden uitvoert
waarbij het inzetgereedschap verborgen stroomleidingen of de eigen stroomkabel kan raken.
Contact met een onder spanning staande leiding kan ook metalen delen van het gereedschap onder
spanning zetten en tot een elektrische schok leiden.
k) Houd de stroomkabel uit de buurt van draaiende inzetgereedschappen. Als u de controle over de
machine verliest, kan de stroomkabel worden doorgesneden of meegenomen en uw hand of arm kan in het
ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap terechtkomen.
l) Leg de machine nooit neer voordat het inzetgereedschap volledig tot stilstand is gekomen. Het
draaiende inzetgereedschap kan in contact komen met het oppervlak, waardoor u de controle over de
machine kunt verliezen
m)Laat de machine niet lopen terwijl u het draagt. Uw kleding kan door toevallig contact met het
draaiende inzetgereedschap worden meegenomen en het inzetgereedschap kan zich in uw lichaam boren.
n) Reinig regelmatig de ventilatieopeningen van de machine. De motorventilator trekt stof in het huis en
een sterke ophoping van metaalstof kan elektrische gevaren veroorzaken
o) Gebruik de machine niet in de buurt van brandbare materialen. Vonken kunnen deze materialen
ontsteken
p) Gebruik geen inzetgereedschappen waarvoor vloeibare koelmiddelen vereist zijn. Het gebruik van
water of andere vloeibare koelmiddelen kan tot een elektrische schok leiden
Terugslag en bijbehorende waarschuwin-
gen
Terugslag is de plotselinge reactie als gevolg van een vasthakend of geblokkeerd draaiend inzetgereedschap,
zoals een slijpschijf, steunschijf, draadborstel, enz.Vasthaken of blokkeren leidt tot abrupte stilstand van
het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap. Daardoor wordt een ongecontroleerd elektrisch gereedschap tegen de
draairichting van het inzetgereedschap versneld op de plaats van de blokkering.
Als bijvoorbeeld een slijpschijf in het werkstuk vasthaakt of blokkeert, kan de rand van de slijpschijf die in
het werkstuk invalt, zich vastgrijpen. Daardoor kan de slijpschijf uitbreken of een terugslag veroorzaken.
De slijpschijf beweegt zich vervolgens naar de bediener toe of van de bediener weg, afhankelijk van de
draairichting van de schijf op de plaats van de blokkering. Hierbij kunnen slijpschijven ook breken.
Een terugslag is het gevolg van het verkeerd gebruik of onjuiste gebruiksomstandigheden van de machine.
Terugslag kan worden voorkomen door geschikte voorzorgsmaatregelen, zoals hieronder beschreven
a) Houd de machine goed vast en breng uw lichaam en uw armen in een positie waarin u de
terugslagkrachten kunt opvangen. Gebruik altijd de extra handgreep, indien aanwezig, om de
grootst mogelijke controle te hebben over terugslagkrachten of reactiemomenten bij het op
toeren komen. De bediener kan door geschikte voorzorgsmaatregelen de terugslag- en reactiekrachten
beheersen
b) Breng uw hand nooit in de buurt van draaiende inzetgereedschappen. Het inzetgereedschap kan bij de
terugslag over uw hand bewegen
c) Mijd met uw lichaam het gebied waarheen de machine bij een terugslag wordt bewogen. De
terugslag drijft de machine in de richting die tegengesteld is aan de beweging van de slijpschijf op de
plaats van de blokkering
d) Werk bijzonder voorzichtig in de buurt van hoeken, scherpe randen, enz. Voorkom dat
inzetgereedschappen van het werkstuk terugspringen en vastklemmen. Het ronddraaiende
inzetgereedschap neigt er bij hoeken, scherpe randen of wanneer het terugspringt toe om zich vast te
klemmen. Dit veroorzaakt een controleverlies of terugslag
e) Gebruik geen kettingblad of getand zaagblad. Zulke inzetgereedschappen veroorzaken vaak een
terugslag of het verlies van de controle over de machine
Bijzondere waarschuwingen voor slijp- en
snijwerkzaamheden
a) Gebruik uitsluitend het voor de machine toegestane slijpaccessoires en de voor dit slijpaccessoires
voorziene beschermkap. Slijpaccessoires dat niet voor de machine is voorzien, kan niet voldoende
worden afgeschermd en is niet veilig
b) Gebogen slijpschijven moeten zodanig gemonteerd worden dat hun slijpoppervlak niet boven
de rand van de beschermkap uit steekt. Een onjuist gemonteerde slijpschijf die over de rand van de
slijpschijf uitsteekt, kan onvoldoende afgeschermd worden
c) De beschermkap moet stevig op de machine zijn aangebracht en voor een maximum aan veiligheid
zodanig zijn ingesteld dat het kleinst mogelijke deel van het slijpaccessoires open naar de bediener
wijst. De beschermkap helpt de bediener te beschermen tegen brokstukken en toevallig contact met het
slijpaccessoires evenals tegen vonken die de kleding kunnen doen ontbranden
d) Slijpaccessoires mag alleen worden gebruikt voor de geadviseerde toepassingsmogelijkheden.
Bijvoorbeeld: slijp nooit met het zijvlak van een snijschijf. Snijschijven zijn bestemd voor
materiaalafname met de rand van de schijf. Een zijwaartse krachtinwerking op dit slijpaccessoires kan het
accessoires breken.
e) Gebruik altijd onbeschadigde spanflenzen in de juiste maat en vorm voor de door u gekozen
slijpschijf. Geschikte flenzen steunen de slijpschijf en verminderen zo het gevaar van een slijpschijfbreuk.
Flenzen voor snijschijven kunnen verschillen van de flenzen voor andere slijpschijven.
f) Gebruik geen versleten slijpschijven van grotere machines. Slijpschijven voor grotere machines zijn
niet geconstrueerd voor de hogere toerentallen van kleinere elektrische machines en kunnen breken.
Overige bijzondere waarschuwingen voor
snijwerkzaamheden
a) Voorkom blokkeren van de snijschijf en te hoge aandrukkracht. Slijp niet overmatig diep. Een
overbelasting van de snijschijf vergroot de slijtage en de gevoeligheid voor kantelen of blokkeren en
daardoor de mogelijkheid van een terugslag of breuk van het slijpaccessoires
b) Mijd de omgeving voor en achter de ronddraaiende snijschijf. Als u de snijschijf in het werkstuk van
u weg beweegt, kan in het geval van een terugslag de machine met de draaiende schijf rechtstreeks naar
u toe worden geslingerd
c) Als de snijschijf vastklemt of als u de werkzaamheden onderbreekt, schakelt u de machine uit
en houdt u het rustig tot de schijf tot stilstand is gekomen. Probeer nooit om de nog draaiende
snijschijf uit de groef te trekken. Anders kan een terugslag het gevolg zijn. Stel de oorzaak van het
vastklemmen vast en maak deze ongedaan
d) Schakel de machine niet opnieuw in zolang het zich in het werkstuk bevindt. Laat de snijschijf
eerst het volledige toerental bereiken voordat u het snijen voorzichtig voortzet. Anders kan de schijf
vasthaken, uit het werkstuk springen of een terugslag veroorzaken
e) Ondersteun platen of grote werkstukken om het risico van een terugslag door een ingeklemde
snijschijf te verminderen. Grote werkstukken kunnen onder hun eigen gewicht doorbuigen. Het
werkstuk moet aan beide zijden worden ondersteund, vlakbij de slijpgroef en aan de rand
f) Wees bijzonder voorzichtig bij invallend frezen in bestaande muren of andere plaatsen zonder
voldoende zicht. De invallende snijschijf kan bij het snijen van gas- of waterleidingen, elektrische
leidingen of andere objecten een terugslag veroorzaken
Bijzondere waarschuwingen voor schuur-
werkzaamheden
a) Gebruik geen schuurbladen met te grote afmetingen, maar houd u aan de voorschriften van
de fabrikant voor de maten van schuurbladen. Schuurbladen die over de rand van de steunschijf
uitsteken, kunnen verwondingen veroorzaken en kunnen tot blokkeren, scheuren van de schuurbladen of
terugslag leiden.

Bijzondere waarschuwingen voor
werkzaamheden met draadborstels
a) Houd er rekening mee dat de draadborstel ook tijdens het normale gebruik draadstukken verliest.
Overbelast de draden niet door een te hoge aandrukkracht. Wegvliegende draadstukken kunnen
gemakkelijk door dunne kleding en/of de huid dringen.
b) Als het gebruik van een beschermkap wordt geadviseerd, dient u te voorkomen dat beschermkap
en draadborstel elkaar kunnen raken. Vlakstaal- en komstaalborstels kunnen door aandrukkracht en
centrifugaal krachten hun diameter vergroten.
Veiligheid slijpmachines
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van snijschijven met een verzonken midden (type 41 & 42) en slijpschijven
die op de rand slijpen (type 1) is het gebruik van een beschermkap verplicht
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de machine NIET zonder het gebruik van voorziene beschermkappen. Reset de
beschermkappositie wanneer de werkhoek of de werkpositie van de gebruiker tijdens het gebruik van de
machine veranderd
WAARSCHUWING: Controleer de vervaldatum van de snij-/slijpschijf voor gebruik en verwijder van de
machine wanneer de vervaldatum verlopen is. Het gebruik van schijven met een verlopen vervaldatum
resulteert mogelijk in het breken van de schijf
• Laat de snij-/slijpschijf na gebruik volledig afkoelen voordat u het aanraakt
• Wanneer de stroomtoevoer onderbroken wordt, schakelt u de aan-/uitschakelaar in de uit-stand
• Bij te grote drukuitoefening raakt de machine mogelijk overbelast. Overbelasting resulteert mogelijk in
oververhitting en machine beschadiging. Laat de machine na gebruik voor een aantal minuten onbelast
draaien voor het afkoelen van de motor
• Bij het gebruik van een slijpmachine hoort het juiste type beschermkap bevestigt te zijn om persoonlijk
letsel te voorkomen. Bij het gebruik van een snijschijf hoort een snijbeschermkap bevestigt te zijn en bij
het gebruik van een schuurschijf hoort een schuurbeschermkap bevestigt te zijn
• Accessoires horen juist gemonteerd, bevestigd en opgeborgen te worden
• Gebruik het juiste type snij-/slijpschijf voor het uit te voeren werk
• Wanneer de schijf voorzien is van dempers, dan dient u deze juist te gebruiken. Wanneer de dempers niet
gebruikt worden breekt de schijf mogelijk tijdens gebruik wat kan resulteren in persoonlijk letsel
• Zorg ervoor dat de snij-/slijpschijf juist en veilig is gemonteerd. Laat de machine met gemonteerde snij-/
slijpschijf zonder belasting gedurende 30 seconden draaien voor u met slijpen begint. Indien te veel
trillingen optreden, zet u de machine uit en verhelpt u de trillingen voor gebruik
• Snij-/slijpschijven mogen niet in contact komen met water of vet. Wanneer u vermoedt dat de schijf
tijdens opberging verzwakt is, gebruikt u deze niet
• Slijp geen magnesium of legeringen met een hoog magnesiumgehalte
• Houdt de machine stevig vast en zorg ervoor dat afval niet op de huid en kleding terecht komt
• Druk de as vergrendelknop niet in wanneer de machine in gebruik is
• Een snij-/slijpschijf zal door gebruik verslijten en kleiner worden. Vervang de steen wanneer deze te klein
wordt voor een gemakkelijk gebruik
Veiligheidsregels bij het gebruik van super
abrasieve schuurmiddelen
• Super abrasieven zijn over het algemeen stug en aan stukken te springen, en horen daarom voorzichtig
gehanteerd te worden. Beschadigde en onjuist gemonteerde super abrasieve schijven zijn erg gevaarlijk
en kunnen serieus letsel aan de gebruiker en omstanders veroorzaken
• Type abrasieve schijven zijn onder andere diamant snijschijven, las metaal schijven, CBN schijven,
etc. Selecteer uw gereedschap zorgvuldig. Denk aan het uit te voeren werk en de afmetingen en
eigenschappen van de machine. Zorg ervoor dat de maximale snelheid van de snijschijf niet overschreden
wordt
• Gebruik super abrasieve snijschijven NIET voor slijpwerkzaamheden waar dit de snijschijf mogelijk
beschadigd
• Super abrasieven schijven horen zorgvuldig geïnspecteerd en getest te worden voordat deze op een
machine gemonteerd mogen worden. Houd de schijf met uw vinger door de kern vast en tik een aantal
maal, op verschillende plaatsen, met een niet- metaalachtig voorwerp op de schijf. Een onbeschadigde
schijf produceert een helder bel-achtig geluid. Beschadigde schijven produceren een dof geluid. Bij enige
twijfel gebruikt u de schijf niet
• Zorg ervoor dat de montageflens van de machine geschikt is voor de snijschijf
• Controleer op een juiste montage door de machine voor ongeveer 30 seconden onbelast te laten lopen.
Wanneer de schijf overmatige geluids- en trillingsniveaus produceert, haalt u de schijf onmiddellijk van
de machine. Inspecteer de schijf, bevestig deze terug op de machine en controleer opnieuw op een juiste
montage
• Bent u van plan een koelmiddel of smeermiddel te gebruiken, controleer of de schijf, de machine en het
werkstuk compatibel zijn met nat snijden en het te gebruiken middel. Vloeistoffen mogen nooit op een
stilstaande schijf aangebracht worden. Bij de uitschakeling van de machine neemt u de vloeistoftoevoer
af en laat u de machine onbelast lopen tot al
• het vloeistof van de schijf is gecentrifugeerd. Droog de schijf na gebruik af

3. Schroef de buitenflens (12) op de as (11). Het verhoogde center van de buitenflens hoort bij het gebruik
van een slijpschijf naar de schijf toe te wijzen en hoort bij het gebruik van een snijschijf van de schijf af te
wijzen
4. Druk de as vergrendelknop (2) in en roteer de as met de hand tot de vergrendeling ingrijp
5. Nu kunt u de pinsleutel gebruiken om de buitenflens volledig vast te draaien. Wanneer de draadflens vast is
gedraaid, laat u de as vergrendelknop los. De machine is nu klaar voor gebruik
6. Om een schijf te verwijderen houdt u de as vergrendelknop ingedrukt en draait u de as tot de vergrendeling
ingrijpt. Gebruik de pinsleutel om de buitenflens te verwijderen
Het bevestigen van een komborstel
Let op: Bij het gebruik van komborstels is het aanbevolen de slijpbeschermkap (9) te bevestigen en onder
het hulphandvat (8) te roteren voor het beschermen van de gebruikershanden. Dit hangt echter af van het
komborstelontwerp en het uit te voeren werk
1. Verwijder de buitenflens (12), schijf (10) en binnen flens (13) van de as (11)
2. Schroef de komborstel direct op de as
3. Druk de as vergrendelknop (2) in en roteer de as met de hand tot de vergrendeling ingrijp
4. Draai de komborstel met behulp van een moersleutel vast. Laat de vergrendelknop los. De machine is nu
klaar voor gebruik
5. Om een komborstel te verwijderen houdt u de as vergrendelknop ingedrukt en draait u de as tot de
vergrendeling ingrijpt. Gebruik een moersleutel om de komborstel te verwijderen
Het verstellen van het draaihandvat
Let op: De positie van het hoofdhandvat kan versteld worden voor een comfortabel gebruik bij elk uit te
voeren werk. Dit verhoogd de gebruiksveiligheid en het gebruikscomfort aanzienlijk bij het uitvoeren van
zware slijpwerkzaamheden
1. Druk de handvat draaiknop (3) (Afbeelding F)
2. Draai het handvat in de gewenste positie
Let op: Het hoofdhandvat draait 90°, zowel links als rechts vanuit de standaard positie (Afbeelding G)
3. Zorg ervoor dat het hoofdhandvat in positie is vergrendeld en de draaiknop verlost is
Let op: Stel het hoofdhandvat in een positie die het beste past bij het uit te voeren werk
Gebruik
Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van de geschikte beschermende uitrusting,
waaronder gehoorbeschermers en beschermende handschoenen aanbevolen
Let op: Schakel de machine niet in wanneer de schijf het werkstuk raakt. Laat de motor volledige op snelheid
komen voordat u de machine belast. Laat de machine volledig tot stilstand komen voordat deze neergelegd
wordt. Houd de machine stevig, met beide handen bij de handvaten vast.
Let op: Het uitschakelen van de machine wanneer deze belast wordt verminderd de levensduur van de
schakelaar
1. Om de machine te starten pakt u de handvaten (4+8) stevig vast
2. Druk de uit-stand vergrendelknop (6) in en knijp in de trekker schakelaar (5) in (Afbeelding F)
3. Om de machine te stoppen laat u de trekker schakelaar los
Slijpen
• Gebruik enkel schijven die speciaal zijn ontworpen zijn voor slijptoepassingen. Steen en metaal
slijpschijven zijn niet uitwisselbaar, gebruik de juiste schijf voor de juiste toepassing
• Houdt het gereedschap tijdens het slijpen in een hoek van ongeveer 15 tot 30° op het werkoppervlak

Let op: Oefen niet al te veel druk op de machine uit. Een overmatige druk zorgt niet voor een efficiëntere
materiaalverwijdering, maar resulteert in een snelle schijf en motor slijtage
Snijden
WAARSCHUWING: Zorg ervoor dat de snij beschermkap (15) op de machine bevestigd is
WAARSCHUWING: Oefen niet al te veel druk op de machine uit. Een overmatige druk zorgt niet voor een
efficiëntere materiaalverwijdering, maar resulteert in een snelle schijf en motor slijtage
Let op: De machine is niet geschikt voor nat-snijden
• Gebruik enkel schijven die speciaal zijn ontworpen zijn voor snijtoepassingen. Steen en metaal slijpschijven
zijn niet uitwisselbaar, gebruik de juiste schijf voor de juiste toepassing
• Gebruik geen snijschijven voor slijpwerkzaamheden. Een verbrijzelde schijf produceert mogelijk
rondvliegende delen wat de gebruiker en omstanders serieus kan verwonden
• Houd de machine tijdens gebruik in een constante hoek en oefen geen zijwaartse druk op de schijf uit. De
schijf blokkeert mogelijk in de snede wat leidt tot verbrijzeling van de schijf

Let op: De schijf zal tijdens gebruik slijten wat de diameter van de schijf verminderd. Een kleinere schijf zorgt
voor een grotere last op de motor. Om schade aan de machine te voorkomen gebruikt u enkel schijven met
een maximale slijtage van ongeveer 25%
Het gebruik van een komborstel/draadwiel
WAARSCHUWING: Losse haren/draden van komborstels kunnen tijdens gebruik afgevuurd worden. Bij het
gebruik van de machine is het dragen van een geschikte veiligheidsbril, stofmasker, gehoorbescherming en
werkhandschoenen aanbevolen.
• Zorg ervoor dat de maximale snelheid van de komborstel / het draadwiel de onbelaste snelheid van de
slijper niet overschrijdt
• Laat de slijpmachine met de komborstel/ draadwiel bevestigd tenminste 30 seconden voor gebruik draaien
om te controleren dat de komborstel / het draadwiel stevig vastzit en juist is gebalanceerd.
• Indien u een kom staaldraadborstel / draadwiel gebruikt, vermijd dan overmatige druk. Het toepassen van
overmatige druk maakt de komborstel/ het draadwiel niet effectiever maar zorgt voor voortijdig buigen en
beschadigen van de borstelharen
Accessoires
• Verschillende accessoires, waaronder slijp- en snijschijven, komborstels en draadwielen, zijn verkrijgbaar

Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING: Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u de machine schoonmaakt of enig
onderhoud uitvoert
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van de geschikte beschermende uitrusting,
waaronder een veiligheidsbril en werkhandschoenen aanbevolen
• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doen de interne onderdelen snel slijten, wat de
levensduur aanzienlijk vermindert
• Maak de machine met een zachte borstel of droge doek schoon
• Gebruik geen bijtende stoffen voor het schoonmaken van plastic onderdelen
• De machine mag niet in contact komen met water
• Zorg ervoor dat de machine volledig droog is voordat u deze gebruikt
• Gebruik wanneer mogelijk zuivere, droge perslucht om door de luchtgaten te blazen
• Gebruik geen organische oplosmiddelen die schadelijk zijn voor de machine behuizing
Koolstofborstels
• Na verloop van tijd zullen de koolborstels in de motor verslijten.
• Bij overmatige slijtage van de borstels verliest de motor mogelijk vermogen, start het niet meer, en/ of
produceert het overmatig vonken.
• Om de borstels te vervangen, verwijdert u de toegangsdoppen (7) van beide zijden van de machine.
De versleten borstels kunnen verwijderd worden en vervangen worden door de nieuwe. Bevestig de
toegangsdoppen terug op de machine
• Als alternatief laat u de borstels bij een erkend servicecenter vervangen.
Let op: De borstels dienen samen vervangen te worden
Opberging
• Plaats de machine en accessoires na het schoonmaken in de opbergtas of koffer (wanneer bijgeleverd)
• Berg de machine op een droge en veilige plek, buiten het bereik van kinderen op
Verwijdering
Bij de verwijdering van elektrische machines neemt u de nationale voorschriften in acht.
• Elektrische en elektronische apparaten en accu’s mogen niet met uw huishoudelijk afval worden
weggegooid
• Neem contact op met uw gemeente voor informatie betreffende de verwijdering van elektrisch
gereedschap
