General Safety
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or
knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children must be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a powered tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating
a powered tool. Do not use a powered tool while you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while
operating a powered tool may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position when not
operating the tool and make use of other safety features which prevent
unintentional starting
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the powered tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal
injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair
can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection
can reduce dust-related hazards.

3) Tool use and care
a) Maintain tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage
of parts and any other condition that may affect the tool’s operation. If
damaged, have the tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained tools.
b) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
c) Use the tool’s accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the tool for operations different from those intended could result
in a hazardous situation.
4) Service
a) Have your tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the tool is maintained.
Internal Combustion Safety
Dangerous environment
• Do not use petrol tools in damp or wet conditions, or expose them to rain. Provide
adequate surrounding work space and keep area well lit
• Do not use petrol tools where there is a risk of explosion or fire from combustible
material,
flammable liquids, flammable gases, or dust of an explosive nature
Switch off
• Ensure that the engine has stopped before attaching any accessories to the tool
• If the tool stops unexpectedly ensure that the power is switched off and the engine
is not running before attempting to check the tool
Running-in the engine
• New tools should be used at moderate speed
• Do not maintain high engine speed until the engine is completely run-in
• The engine will not be capable of developing maximum power until the end of the
running-in period
• When first using the tool, periodically stop and check that all nuts and screws are
securely fastened and tighten them as necessary
• Do not use fuels containing methanol or ethanol, as these may cause internal
damage to the fuel tank and fuel lines
Warning
• Never leave the tool running unattended
• Never leave the machine unattended when parts are still hot
Servicing
• We recommended that your tool is serviced shortly after its first use
• In normal use, have the tool serviced regularly
• Do not modify any of the components of this tool. To do so would invalidate your
guarantee, and could result in injury to yourself or others around you
• Always have your tool serviced at an authorized service centre

Storage
• Clean the tool completely after use
• Be careful not to damage the fuel tank, or fuel lines, when it is placed on the
ground
• Ensure that the tool will not be subject to impact damage; any damage could
cause the tool to become unsafe
• Store the tool away from direct sunlight
• Ensure that fuel and oil is stored in a safe place, away from heat, direct sunlight or
any source of ignition
• Whenever the machine is likely to be out of use for an extended period of time,
proceed as follows:
• Empty the fuel tank completely
• Protect all metal engine parts from corrosion by coating them with oil
• Remove the spark plug, put a few drops of oil into the cylinder and then pull
the recoil starter 2 to 3 times in order to distribute the oil evenly
• Replace the spark plug
• Never store the machine where children may gain access to it

Hedge Trimmer Safety
• ALWAYS use adequate protective equipment, including cut-resistant gloves, eye
protection, solid shoes and cut-resistant trousers when working with this hedge
trimmer
• DO NOT use the hedge trimmer in the rain or in damp conditions
• Keep hands and fingers well away from the blades
• Always hold the hedge trimmer securely with both hands on the handles when
working with the device
• Turn the hedge trimmer off and ensure that the ignition lead is disconnected from
the spark plug before cleaning, removing obstructions or carrying out maintenance.

• This product requires the use of two hands to ensure safe operation
• Never allow untrained users or children to use the hedge trimmer
• Inspect the area to be cut before starting. Remove any objects or debris that could
be thrown, jammed or become entangled in the blades
• Adopt a stable stance always keeping the hedge trimmer in front of your body
• Grip the front handle bar switch with one hand. With the other hand grip the rear
handle and with your fingers squeeze the trigger switch
• Allow the cutting blades to reach full speed before commencing the cut
• When cutting always move in a forward direction. Never move backwards while
operating the hedge trimmer in case you could fall over unseen obstacles
• Never work towards people or solid objects such as walls, trees or vehicles etc.
• If the blade stalls during cutting, stop the hedge trimmer immediately and
disconnect the ignition lead before investigating the cause. Remove any jammed
debris from the blades and examine them for damage before re-commencing
cutting. Always replace any damaged blades.

Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your new tool. Familiarise yourself with all its
features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are
missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: To prevent accidental starting, ensure the Ignition Lead is disconnected
before attaching or changing any accessories, or making any adjustments.
Handle adjustment
WARNING: Do not attempt to use the hedge trimmer without the Rotating Handle
(14) locked into one of the three predetermined positions. Doing so could cause the
operator to lose control of the trimmer.
Note: The Rotating Handle can be moved 90° in either direction and locked into
position.
1. Press down on the Handle Adjustment Switch (10) to unlock the Rotating Handle
from its current position

2. Move the Rotating Handle left or right until it ‘clicks’ into position
3. Try moving the Rotating Handle to ensure it is safely locked into position
Preparing 2-stroke mix
Note: This hedge trimmer is powered by a 2-stroke engine that requires a petrol/oil
fuel mixture.
WARNING: ALWAYS use dedicated, fully synthetic 2-stroke oil. DO NOT use regular
engine oil for 2-stroke mix.
1. Use a suitable 2-stroke fuel mixing bottle to measure the required amount of oil,
see mixing chart below

WARNING: DO NOT pour oil directly into the Fuel Tank (15). The 2-stroke mix needs
to be prepared and thoroughly mixed in a separate container, prior to being poured
into the trimmer.
2. Pour the required amount of 2-stroke oil, followed by unleaded petrol, into the Fuel
Mixing Bottle. Close and shake until thoroughly mixed
Note: 2-stroke mix must not be stored for long-term periods. ONLY mix the amount
required for immediate consumption. Refer to the ‘Storing Fuel’ section for further
information.
Filling with fuel
WARNING: Danger of fire and burn injuries. Take extra care when fuelling this
machine.
WARNING: NEVER fill with fuel whilst the engine is running. Switch off the engine and
wait until it has cooled before refuelling.
WARNING: ONLY refuel the hedge trimmer outdoors, in well-ventilated areas.
WARNING: ALWAYS open the fuel tank carefully to allow potential pressure build-up
inside the tank to release slowly. Never open the fuel tank while the engine is running.
• Always use extreme care when handling fuel. Fuel is highly flammable
• Never attempt to fuel the hedge trimmer if the fuel system components are
damaged or are leaking
• Never attempt to refuel the engine while it is running or still warm; allow it to cool
before fuelling
• Never smoke or light fires near the hedge trimmer or fuels
• Always transport and store fuels in an approved container
• Never place flammable material close to the engine exhaust
• Do not use petrol which contains ethanol or methanol as it may damage the fuel
lines and other engine parts
• Mix only enough fuel for immediate needs. If fuel must be stored longer than 30
days, it should first be treated with a stabiliser or similar product
1. Premix the fuel in a suitable 2-stroke fuel mixing bottle, following the guidelines
under ‘Preparing 2-stroke mix’
2. Place the unit on a secure, flat surface and wipe away any debris from around the
Fuel Cap (16)
3. Unscrew the Fuel Cap and pour the mixture into the tank with the aid of a funnel
Note: Be careful not to spill any of the fuel mixture. If this happens, wipe the spill with
a clean rag.
• In order to avoid risk of fire, start up the engine at least three metres away from the
area where the Fuel Tank has been filled
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing
protection, as well as suitable gloves, when working with this tool.
WARNING: The blade will continue to move for a few seconds after the engine has
stopped.
Running in the engine
Note: During run-in and cold starts in colder climates, it may be necessary to change
the fuel/oil ratio to 25:1.
• During the first 5 hours of use, run the engine at a moderate speed
• The engine will reach its maximum power output at the end of the run-in period
Switching on and off
1. Move the Ignition Switch (X) into the ‘on’ position by sliding it forwards towards the
Front Handle (4) (Image A)
2. If the engine is being started from cold, move the Choke (7) into the ‘closed’
position before starting (Image B)
3. Press the Primer Bulb (17), roughly 6 times, until the bulb is filled with fuel (Image
C)
4. Pull the Recoil Starter (9) 2-3 times until the engine begins to start
Note: It may be required to pull the Recoil Starter more; depending on the ambient
temperature and the fuel status.
5. Move the Choke into the ‘open’ position, back towards the Rotating Handle (14)
6. Allow the engine to run at idle for 10 seconds to allow trimmer to warm up
• To switch the hedge trimmer off, move the Ignition Switch into the ‘off’ position, by
pushing it towards the rear
• To operate the hedge trimmer, squeeze the Safety Lock to release the Trigger (13)
(Image D)
• Squeeze the Trigger to accelerate the hedge trimmer
Using the hedge trimmer
WARNING: This hedge trimmer is designed for the trimming of hedges, bushes and
shrubs. If it is used for any other purpose not expressly permitted by these operating
instructions, there may be a risk of damage to the hedge trimmer or serious injury to
the user.
WARNING: This product requires the use of both hands to ensure safe operation.
• Inspect the area to be cut before starting. Remove any objects or debris that could
be thrown, jammed or become entangled in the blades
• Allow the cutting blades to reach full speed before commencing the cut
• When cutting always move in a forward direction and never backwards
• Never work towards bystanders or solid objects such as walls, trees or vehicles
• If during cutting the blade stalls, stop the hedge trimmer immediately by switching
the Ignition Switch (X) to ‘off’ before investigating the cause
• Remove any jammed debris from the blades and examine them for any damage
before re-commencing cutting. Always replace any damaged blades.
• The hedge trimmer can be used for trimming soft and new growth on hedges,
shrubs and bushes.

• When cutting:
• Assume a secure position, using two hands to hold the trimmer
• Trim both sides of the hedge, starting at the bottom
• Pass the blade lightly through the surface of the hedge. Do not attempt to cut
too deep
• Trim the top of the hedge
• For older hedges that require cutting back substantially, use pruning shears to
cut the thicker branches and then finish the job with the hedge trimmer
WARNING: Do not let the blade come into contact with fencing wire or any other
object that could damage it.

Maintenance
WARNING: Ensure the Ignition Lead is disconnected before attaching or changing any
accessories, or making any adjustments, to prevent accidental starting.
WARNING: ALWAYS wear adequate personal protective equipment, including eye
protection and oil/fuel-resistant gloves, when carrying out maintenance on this tool.
ALWAYS ensure proper ventilation.
WARNING: Maintenance not covered by this manual MUST be carried out by an
authorised GMC technician. Attempting such maintenance or repairs will void the
warranty.
Cleaning the air filter
WARNING: Never run this tool without the air filter element fitted, as this would lead
to rapid wear of internal components, causing permanent engine damage and shorten
the service life of this tool.
1. Remove the Air Filter Fastener (8) from the air box to release the cover
2. Pull the cover away from the air box to reveal the air filter (Image E)
3. Remove the air filter element from the air box
WARNING: DO NOT use petrol or other flammable solvents to clean the filter element,
as this could lead to fire or explosion.
4. Wash the air filter element thoroughly in a solution of warm water with non-foamy
household detergent, or clean with a specialised non-flammable solvent
WARNING: DO NOT wring out the element, as this would damage the sponge
material.
WARNING: NEVER install a wet filter element, as water in the air intake will lead to
permanent engine damage.
5. Immerse the dried filter element in clean engine oil, or alternatively, apply
specialised air filter oil to the filter element. Gently squeeze (but DO NOT wring
out) to remove excess oil.
6. Reinstall the air filter element and air box cover
Spark plug maintenance
Note: Before installing a new spark plug, ensure the gap is correctly set to 0.5 –
0.7mm. Not doing so could cause the piston to conflict with the spark plug, damaging
internal components.
1. Remove the Ignition Lead (5) to reveal the spark plug
2. Remove the spark plug using the provided Spark Plug Combi Tool (19)
3. Clean or replace the spark plug
4. When installing the spark plug, turn the plug by hand until resistance is felt, then
continue to turn (using the Spark Plug Combi Tool) another 1/3 of a turn
Carburettor adjustment
Note: It may be necessary to adjust the idle speed, dependant on climate, ambient
temperature and elevation.
1. Remove the Air Filter Fastener (8) from the air box to release the cover
2. Pull the cover away from the air box to reveal the idle adjustment screw (Image F)
• Using the Spark Plug Combi Tool (19) turn the idle adjustment screw clockwise
to increase the engine idle speed, or anti-clockwise to decrease the engine idle
speed

General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight
• Inspect the fuel tank and lines of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear.
Repairs should be carried out by an authorised GMC service centre. This advice
also applies to extension cords used with this tool
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear
quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine
with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow
through the ventilation holes
• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use
alcohol, petrol or strong cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
Lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Preparation for long-term storage
• Whenever the hedge trimmer is out of use for an extended period of time, proceed
as follows:
1. Give the unit an overall cleaning and a thorough check
2. Clean the air filter element
3. Drain the fuel system
4. Remove the spark plug, fill about a spoonful of 2-stroke oil into the cylinder through
the spark plug hole, and pull the Recoil Starter (9) gently two to three times to

Specificaties
De geluidsintensiteit voor de bediener kan 85 dB(A) overschrijden en de
gehoorbescherming is noodzakelijk.
Met het oog op onze aanhoudende productontwikkeling kunnen de specificaties
van GMC producten zonder voorafgaande kennisgeving worden gewijzigd.
WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen
van gehoorbescherming en het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd vereist. Bij
oncomfortabel hoge geluidsniveaus, zelfs met het dragen van gehoorbescherming,
stopt u het gebruik van de machine onmiddellijk. Controleer de pasvorm en het
geluiddempingsniveau van de bescherming.
WAARSCHUWING: Blootstelling aan trilling resulteert mogelijk in gevoelloosheid,
tinteling en een vermindert gripvermogen. Langdurige blootstelling kan leiden
tot chronische condities. Limiteer de blootstellingsduur en draag anti-vibratie
handschoenen. Vibratie heeft een grotere invloed op handen met een temperatuur
lager dan een normale, comfortabele temperatuur. Maak gebruik van de informatie in
de specificaties voor het bereken van de gebruiksduur en frequentie van de machine.

Algemene veiligheid
WAARSCHUWING Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet
opvolgen van alle voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in een
elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting. Rommelige
en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak tot ongelukken.
b) Gebruik het gereedschap niet in explosieve atmosferen, als in de aanwezigheid
van vlam bare vloeistoffen, gassen en stof.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Door afleiding kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) Persoonlijke veiligheid
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of
onder invloed bent van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens
het bedienen van elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril.
Passende bescherming voor de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-
slippende veiligheidsschoenen een helm of gehoorbescherming, vermindert het
risico op persoonlijk letsel.
c) Voorkom onopzettelijk starten. Zorg ervoor dat de schakelaar in de uit-stand
staat wanneer het gereedschap niet gebruikt wordt en maak gebruik van andere
voorzorgsmaatregelen om onopzettelijk starten te voorkomen
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische gereedschap
inschakelt. Een moer- of stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het
elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer controle
over het elektrische gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden.
Houd haren, kleding en handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen.
Loshangende kleding, sieraden en los hangende haren kunnen vast komen te
zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden meegeleverd,
sluit deze dan aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze
onderdelen kan het risico op stof gerelateerde ongelukken verminderen.
WAARSCHUWING: Bloodstelling aan trilling kan leiden tot gevoelloosheid, tintelen
en verminderde grip bekwaamheid. Op de lange termijn kan het leiden tot chronische
condities. Limiteer de lengte van blootstelling aan trilling. Gebruik de gegevens in de
specificaties van het gereedschap om de gebruiksduur en –frequentie te berekenen.
De 2002/44-EEG richtlijn met betrekking tot trilling in de werkruimte bevat mogelijk
bruikbare informatie. Bij een oncomfortabel gebruik ten gevolge van trilling stopt u
onmiddellijk met het gebruik van het gereedschap
WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer het geluidsniveau boven de 85 dB(A) reikt is het dragen
van gehoorbescherming een must. Wanneer geluidsniveaus, zelfs tijdens het dragen
van gehoorbescherming, oncomfortabel hoog zijn, stop dan met het gebruiken van het
gereedschap en controleer of het juiste dempingsniveau gegeven wordt
3) Gebruik en verzorging
a) Het onderhouden van gereedschap. Controleer op een verkeerde uitlijning
of binden van bewegende onderdelen, beschadiging aan onderdelen en
andere condities wat het gebruik beïnvloed. In geval van beschadiging,
vervangt u het gereedschap onmiddellijk. Vele ongelukken worden veroorzaakt
door slecht onderhouden gereedschap
b) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden snijwerktuigen met
scherpe messen slaan minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
c) Gebruik de accessoires in overeenstemming met deze instructies, waarbij
rekening gehouden wordt met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren
werk. Het gebruik van het gereedschap voor taken, anders dan waarvoor het
bestemd is, kan resulteren in gevaarlijke situaties
4) Onderhoud
a) Laat uw gereedschap onderhouden door een gekwalificeerde vakman en
gebruik alleen identieke vervangstukken.
Veiligheid interne verbranding
Gevaarlijke omgeving
Gebruik benzinegereedschap niet in vochtige of natte omstandigheden, en stel
het niet bloot aan regen. Zorg voor voldoende werkruimte en verlichting. Gebruik
benzinegereedschap niet op plaatsen met ontploffings- of brandgevaar omwille van
brandbaar materiaal, vloeistoffen, gassen of stof van explosieve aard.
Uitschakelen
Zorg ervoor dat de motor is uitgeschakeld voordat u accessoires op het gereedschap
bevestigd. Als het gereedschap onverwacht stopt, wacht dan tot de motor gestopt is
met draaien voordat u het gereedschap inspecteert.
Inlopen van de motor
• Laat de motor wanneer het gereedschap nieuw is op een matig toerental draaien.
• Laat de motor pas op volle toeren draaien als hij volledig is ingelopen.
• De motor zal pas aan het eind van de inloopperiode op maximaal vermogen lopen.
• Wanneer u het gereedschap voor het eerst gebruikt, controleer dan of alle bouten
en moeren goed zijn aangedraaid en draai ze zo nodig alsnog aan.
• Gebruik geen methanol of ethanol bevattende brandstoffen omdat deze de
brandstoftank en de brandstofleidingen intern kan beschadigen.
Waarschuwing
• Laat het gereedschap nooit achter wanneer het ingeschakeld is
• Laat het gereedschap nooit achter wanneer onderdelen heet zijn
Onderhoud
• Wij raden aan om het gereedschap kort na het eerste gebruik een
onderhoudsbeurt te laten geven.
• Zorg bij normaal gebruik regelmatig voor een onderhoudsbeurt.
• Modificeer de onderdelen van dit gereedschap niet. Daarmee vervalt niet alleen de
garantie maar het kan tevens leiden tot letsel aan uzelf of mensen om u heen.
• Onderhoud moet altijd worden uitgevoerd door een bevoegd persoon.

Opbergen
• Maak het gereedschap na gebruik helemaal schoon.
• Zorg ervoor dat u de brandstoftank en de brandstofleidingen niet beschadigd raken
als u het toestel op de grond is geplaatst.
• Laat het gereedschap niet vallen waar schade resulteert in een onveilig gebruik
• Berg het gereedschap buiten bereik van direct zonlicht op.
• Zorg ervoor dat brandstof en olie op een veilige plaats, buiten bereik van hitte,
direct zonlicht, ontstekingsbronnen en kinderen worden opgeborgen.
• Doe het volgende als de machine gedurende langere tijd niet in gebruik is:
• Maak de brandstoftank volledig leeg.
• Bescherm alle metalen motoronderdelen tegen roestvorming door ze in te smeren
met olie.
• Verwijder de bougie, druppel een kleine hoeveelheid olie in de cilinder en trek 2 of
3 maal aan het startkoord om de olie gelijkmatig te distribueren.
• Breng de bougie weer aan.
• Laat de machine nooit onbeheerd achter wanneer er kinderen bij kunnen.

Heggenschaar veiligheid
• De vereiste beschermende uitrusting, waaronder handschoenen, een
veiligheidsbril, stevige schoenen en een werkbroek, hoort te allen tijde gedragen
te worden
• Gebruik de machine niet in de regen of in vochtige omstandigheden
• Houd uw handen en vingers uit de buurt van het blad
• Houd de heggenschaar stevig met beide handen op de handvaten vast
• Schakel de machine uit en ontkoppel de ontstekingskabel van de bougie voordat u
de machine schoonmaakt, obstructies verhelpt of enig onderhoud uitvoert. Verhelp
een vastgelopen blad niet voordat de ontstekingsbron ontkoppeld is
• Schakel de machine uit en ontkoppel de ontstekingskabel van de bougie wanneer
het werk voltooid is, of onderbroken wordt. Wanneer het werk onderbroken wordt,
maakt u de handeling af voordat u de machine uitschakelt
• De machine is ontworpen voor het snoeien van zachte, nieuwe groei en mag niet
gebruikt worden voor het snoeien van dikke takken
• Voor een veilig gebruik houdt u de machine met beide handen vast
• Ongetrainde personen en kinderen mogen de machine niet gebruiken
• Inspecteer het te snoeien gebied voordat u met het werk begint. Verwijder enige
voorwerpen die door/in de machine weggeschoten, gegrepen en gewikkeld
kunnen worden/raken
• Zorg dat u stevig staat en de machine te allen tijde voor u houd
• Houd de schakelaar op het voorste handvat met de ene hand vast en knijp de
trekker schakelaar met de vingers van de andere hand op het andere handvat in

• Beweeg te allen tijde in een voorwaartse beweging. Beweeg nooit achterwaarts,
waar u over onopgemerkte voorwerpen kunt struikelen

ontkoppeld u de ontstekingskabel van de bougie voordat u accessoires verwisselt of
aanpassingen maakt
Handvat verstelling
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de heggenschaar enkel met het roterende handvat
(14)vergrendelt in één van de drie bepaalde posities. Wanneer het handvat niet
vergrendeld is, is de kans op persoonlijk letsel erg groot
Let op: Het roterende handvat kan 90° in beide richtingen gedraaid worden

machine uit en wacht tot deze volledig afgekoeld is
WAARSCHUWING: Vul de brandstoftank buiten, in een goed geventileerde ruimte
WAARSCHUWING: Open de brandstoftank voorzichtig om mogelijk opgebouwde druk
langzaam te laten ontsnappen. Open de brandstoftank niet wanneer de motor loopt

• Gebruik geen ethanol of methanol bevattende brandstoffen. Deze brandstoffen
kunnen de brandstofleidingen en andere motoronderdelen beschadigen
• Wanneer brandstof langer dan 30 dagen opgeborgen gaat worden, dient een
stabilisator toegevoegd te worden

buurt van de plek waar de brandstoftank gevuld is
Gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van de geschikte
beschermende uitrusting, waaronder beschermende handschoenen aanbevolen
WAARSCHUWING: Nadat u de motor stopt beweegt het blad voor een aantal
seconden door
Het inlopen van de motor
Let op: Tijdens het inlopen van de motor en het starten in koudere omstandigheden is
het mogelijk nodig de brandstof/olieverhouding te veranderen naar 25:1
• Laat de motor tijdens de eerste 5 uur op een gematigde snelheid lopen
• De motor bereikt het maximale uitgaande vermogen aan het eind van de
inloopperiode
Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine
1. Plaats de ontstekingsschakelaar (11) in de aan-positie door deze naar voren, in de
richting van het voorhandvat (4) te schuiven (Afb. A)
2. Wanneer de motor gestart wordt wanneer deze koud is, plaatst u de choke (7) in
de ‘gesloten’ positie voordat u de motor start (Afb. B)
3. Druk de brandstofpomp (17) ongeveer 6 keer in, tot de bel gevuld is met brandstof
(Afb. C)
4. Trek aan de repeteerstarter (9) tot de motor start
Let op: Het is mogelijk vereist meerdere malen aan de repeteerstarter te trekken,
afhankelijk van de omgevingstemperatuur en brandstof hoeveelheid
5. Schuif de choke in de ‘open’ positie, terug in de richting van het roterende handvat

6. Laat de motor 10 seconden onbelast lopen zodat deze kan opwarmen
• Om de machine uit te schakelen plaatst u de ontstekingsschakelaar in de uit-stand
• Om de machine te gebruiken knijpt u de veiligheidsvergrendeling (12) in zodat u
de trekker schakelaar (13) in kan knijpen (Afb. D)
• Knijp de trekker schakelaar in om het blad te laten accelereren
Het gebruiken van de heggenschaar
WAARSCHUWING: De heggenschaar is ontworpen voor het snoeien van heggen,
bosjes en struiken. Wanneer de heggenschaar gebruikt voor doeleinden, anders
dan die beschreven in deze handleiding, bestaat het risico op beschadiging aan de
heggenschaar en persoonlijk letsel
WAARSCHUWING: De machine vereist beide handen tijdens het gebruik
• Inspecteer het te snoeien gebied voor dat u het werk begint. Verwijder objecten
en afval wat door de machine afgevuurd kan worden of wat in het blad vast kan
komen te zitten
• Laat de bladen op volle snelheid komen voordat u begint met snoeien
• Beweeg de machine te allen tijde in een voorwaartse beweging
• Werk nooit in de richting van personen of vaste voorwerpen als muren, bomen en
voertuigen
• Wanneer het blad tijdens gebruik stopt, stopt u de machine onmiddellijk door de
ontstekingsschakelaar in de uit-stand te plaatsen

• Verwijder enig blokkerend afval en controleer of de bladen beschadigd zijn voordat
u het snoeien voortzet. Vervang beschadigde bladen
• De machine is te gebruiken voor het snoeien van zachte en nieuwe groei op
heggen, bosjes en struiken
• Bij het snoeien:
• Zorg ervoor dat u stevig staat
• Snoei beide zijden van de heg, van onder naar boven
• Maak meerdere lichte doorgangen in plaats van één diepe doorgang
• Snoei de bovenzijde van de heg
• Maak bij het snoeien van dikke heggen gebruik van een hand snoeischaar
voordat u de machine gebruikt
WAARSCHUWING: Het blad mag niet in contact komen met metaaldraad, of enig
ander materiaal wat de machine kan beschadigen

Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING: Zorg ervoor dat de ontstekingskabel ontkoppeld is voordat
u accessoires wisselt of enige aanpassingen maakt, om de kans op accidentele
inschakeling te voorkomen
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het onderhouden van de machine is het dragen van de
geschikte beschermende uitrusting, waaronder een veiligheidsbril en beschermende
handschoenen aanbevolen
WAARSCHUWING: Onderhoud wat niet beschreven wordt in deze handleiding, dient
uitgevoerd te worden door een geautoriseerd GMC service center. Het uitvoeren van
dit soort onderhoud ontkracht de garantie
Het schoonmaken van de luchtfilter
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de machine nooit zonder luchtfilter. Dit resulteert in een
snelle slijtage van interne onderdelen wat de motor permanent beschadigd en de
levensduur verkort
1. Verwijder de luchtfiltermoer (8) van de luchtfilter kap
2. Neem de kap van de machine behuizing (Afb. E)
3. Verwijder het filterelement
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik geen benzine of ander ontvlambare vloeistof om de filter
schoon te maken
4. Was de luchtfilter grondig in warm water met een niet-schuimend oplosmiddel, of
een speciaal niet-ontvlambaar middel
WAARSCHUWING: Wring de filter niet uit waar dit de filter kan beschadigen
WAARSCHUWING: Plaats de filter enkel terug wanneer deze volledig droog is. Het
water van een vochtige filter resulteert in permanente motorbeschadiging
5. Dompel de filter in schone motorolie of een speciale luchtfilterolie en knijp in de
filter om overmatige olie te verwijderen
6. Plaats de filter terug in de machine en vergrendel de kap met de bout
Bougie onderhoud
Let op: Voordat u een nieuwe bougie plaatst, zorgt u ervoor dat de elektrodeafstand
0,5-0,7 mm bedraagt. Als u dit niet doet kan de zuigerstang de bougie storen, wat de
interne onderdelen kan beschadigen
1. Ontkoppel de ontstekingskabel (5) om de bougie vrij te geven
2. Verwijder de bougie met gebruik van de bougiesleutel (19)
3. Maak de bougie schoon of vervang deze
4. Plaats de schone/nieuwe bougie met de hand terug totdat u weerstand voelt. Draai
de bougie nu met de sleutel 1/3 slag zodat deze volledig vast zit
Carburateur verstelling
Let op: Het is mogelijk vereist de stationaire snelheid aan te passen, afhankelijk van
het klimaat, de omgevingstemperatuur en de hoogteligging
1. Verwijder de luchtfiltermoer (8) van de luchtfilter kap
2. Neem de kap van de machinebehuizing om de stationaire snelheid schroef vrij te
geven (Afb. F)
• Draai de schroef met behulp van de bougiesleutel rechtsom om de motorsnelheid
te verhogen. Draai de schroef linksom om de motorsnelheid te verlagen

Algemene inspectie
• Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsmiddelen nog goed vast zitten. Door
vibratie kunnen ze na enige tijd los gaan zitten
• Inspecteer de brandstoftank en leidingen voor elk gebruik op slijtage en
beschadiging. Reparaties dienen uitgevoerd worden bij een geautoriseerd GMC
service center
Schoonmaak
• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doen de interne onderdelen
snel slijten, wat de levensduur aanzienlijk vermindert. Maak de machine met een
zachte borstel of droge doek schoon. Gebruik wanneer mogelijk zuivere, droge
perslucht om door de luchtgaten te blazen
• Maak de behuizing met een vochtige doek en een licht schoonmaakmiddel
schoon. Gebruik geen alcohol, benzine of hardnekkig schoonmaakmiddel
• Gebruik geen bijtende stoffen voor het schoonmaken van plastic onderdelen
Smeren
• Smeer alle bewegende onderdelen regelmatig met een geschikt smeermiddel
Opberging
• Berg de machine op een droge en veilige plek, buiten het bereik van kinderen op
Voorbereiding op langdurige opberging
• Wanneer de heggenschaar voor langere tijd niet gebruikt gaat worden, volgt u de
volgende stappen op:
1. Maak de machine grondig schoon en check voor enige beschadigingen
2. Maak de luchtfilter schoon
3. Verwijder alle brandstof
4. Verwijder de bougie, giet een lepel 2-takt olie door het bougiegat in de cilinder
en trek 2-3 keer voorzichtig aan de repeteerstarter (9) om de olie te verspreiden.
Schroef de bougie vast
5. Trek voorzichtig aan de repeteerstarter totdat u weerstand voelt. De zuigerstang
gaat omhoog in de compressieslag, en zowel het inlaat- als uitlaatventiel is
nu gesloten. Berg de machine in deze positie op om interne roestvorming te
voorkomen
6. Bescherm alle metalen onderdelen tegen roestvorming door deze te voorzien van
een oliecoating
Het opbergen van brandstof
• Berg 2-takt mengsels ALLEEN in speciaal ontworpen containers voor brandstof
opberging op
• Berg brandstof op een donkere plek, met een constante lage temperatuur op
Verwijdering
Bij de verwijdering van machines die niet langer functioneel en niet te repareren zijn,
neemt u de nationale voorschriften in acht
• Machines met een interne verbrandingsmotor dienen niet met uw huishoudelijk
afval weggegooid te worden. Deze machine dienen juist gerecycled te worden,
volgens de landelijke milieubeschermingseisen
• Benzine, olie en mengsels zijn schadelijk en dienen als schadelijk behandelt te
worden. Olie en brandstoffen dienen niet met uw huishoudelijk afval weggegooid
te worden. Onjuiste verwijderen wordt mogelijk gezien als een crimineel misdrijf.
Neem contact op met uw plaatselijke autoriteiten betreft een juiste verwijdering van
olie en brandstoffen
