1 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 PURPOSE OF THE MANUAL
The purpose of this manual is to describe the operations re uired to use the lift.
For any lifts with specifications other than those given in this manual, please contact GMV S.p.A.
1.2 RECIPIENTS
The manual is intended for lift users. It contains topics that refer to correct operation of the lift.
It is the lift owner’s responsibility to keep this documentation intact so that it can be consulted at any time.
1.3 SUPPLY AND STORAGE
The manual is provided in electronic format and can also be downloaded from https://www.gmv.it/
All additional technical documentation (maintenance manual, lift installation manual and attachments, wiring
diagrams) is provided with this manual.
Keep this manual supplied with the lift in the electrical cabinet so that it can be easily consulted by installers and
maintenance personnel.
The manual is an integral part of safety, therefore:
•it must be kept intact (in all its parts). If it is lost or damaged, a copy should be re uested immediately.
•it must accompan the lift until it is demolished (even if it is moved, sold, etc.);
The attached manuals are an integral part of this documentation and the same re uirements/instructions apply to
them as to this manual.
The Manufacturer accepts no liability for improper use of the lift and/or for damage caused as a result of operations
not covered by the technical documentation.
1.4 UPDATES
If the lift needs functional modifications or replacements, the Manufacturer is responsible for reviewing or updating
the manual. The Manufacturer is responsible for delivering the updated manual.
Furthermore, the user is responsible for ensuring that, should this document be changed by the Manufacturer, only
updated versions of the manual are actually present at the points of use.
1.5 LANGUAGE
The original manual is written in Italian.
Any translations into additional languages must be done from the original instructions.
The Manufacturer is responsible for the information in the original instructions; translations into other languages
cannot be fully verified, so if any inconsistency is found, the original language text must be followed or you can

1. GLOSSARY OF TERMINOLOGY USED
A few specific terms are used throughout this manual. They are listed below with their meaning:
TERM
DESCRIPTION
Authorised person Person with the lift owner’s permission to enter restricted areas for
maintenance, inspection or rescue operations.
Skilled person Person who is trained, ualified and has the necessary instructions to safely
carry out the re uired maintenance, inspection and user rescue operations.
Installer Natural or legal person who takes responsibility for assembling and delivering
the lift to its final location in the building.
Maintenance technician
Person from the maintenance company who is authorised, skilled, trained and
ualified to safely carry out user rescue, maintenance and lift inspection
operations.
Car Part of the lift intended to hold people and/or other loads.
Headroom Part of the well between the highest floor served by the car and the well ceiling.
Machiner room Machinery space completely enclosed with ceiling, walls, floor and door(s)
containing all or part of the machinery.
Lift owner Natural or legal person who has the power to dispose of the lift and who is
responsible for its use and operation.
Passenger Any person carried in the lift car.
Pit Part of the well located below the lowest floor served by the car.
Rated load Load intended to be transported in normal operation which may include
movement devices.
Rescue or recover
operations
Specific actions re uired of skilled persons to safely free people trapped in the
car and in the well.
Rescuer Authorised and skilled person who is trained, ualified and has the necessary
instructions to safely carry out user rescue operations.
User Person using the services of a lift system, which includes passengers, people
waiting at floors and authorised people.
Well Volume within which the car, counterweight or balancing mass moves. This volume is
usually physically delimited by the bottom of the pit, the walls and the well ceiling.

1.9 DESCRIPTION OF THE LIFT
Thank you for choosing this product that GMV S.p.A., a company with an innovative spirit, a leader in the world of
design, manufacture and sale of hydraulic components for lifts, has developed, with the aim of offering its customers
technical and economic benefits, but above all, to provide daily users with greater safety and comfort.
Namely, the lift offers:
•Reduced lift system costs;
•Reduced dimensions of the well and occupied spaces;
•Reduced dimensions of the machinery room, if placed in a cabinet or in the well;
•Reduced overall assembly times;
•For hydraulic systems, increased safety thanks to a double shut-off valve;
•Greater comfort with the soft-stop system that ensures a smooth and precise stop at the floor;
•An innovative car that offers the possibility of subse uent adaptations based on the needs and tastes of the
customer without having to intervene on the lift;
•A reliable, prefabricated electrical part that is easy to install and repair.

2 USE
2.1 INTENDED (correct) USE
The lift is intended for the movement of persons and/or objects within a specified rated load.
IMPORTANT!
It is not permitted to exceed the number of persons or the maximum permissible load in the car.
The lift is designed and built to work safely if:
•it is used within the limits stated in the contract and in this manual;
•the procedures in the operation manual are followed.
2.2 REASONABLY FORESEEABLE MISUSE
Reasonabl foreseeable misuse is listed below:
•using the machine differently to that specified in the “Intended (correct) use” section.
Any use of the lift other than that for which it is intended must first be authorised in writing by the Manufacturer. In
the absence of such written authorisation, use is deemed as “improper use”; the Manufacturer therefore accepts no
liability for any damage to property or persons and considers any type of lift warranty to be null and void.

Improper use of the lift exempts the Manufacturer from an liabilit .
CAUTION!
Using the lift for an other purpose than that intended b the Manufacturer could cause serious
damage to persons and/or propert and/or animals. GMV S.p.A. shall not be held liable for an

2.3 OBLIGATIONS AND PROHIBITIONS
OBLIGATIONS
In order to ensure complete user safety when using the lift, the following obligations must be fulfilled:
•Wait until the doors are fully open before entering/exiting the lift.
•Avoid sudden and unsteady movements while travelling. If there are pets in the lift, make sure that they cannot
make uncontrolled movements and are kept under control at all times.
•In the presence of a wheelchair or pram/pushchair, make sure that it is braked before starting the lift.
PROHIBITIONS
In order to ensure complete user safety when using the lift, the following prohibitions must be fulfilled:
•Do not press more than one button at a time.
•Do not insert fingers or any object between the car doors, landing doors and well.
•Do not drop foreign objects between the car and the well.
•Do not try to open the doors while travelling.
•Do not exceed the lift’s rated load indicated inside the car. The load-sensing device prevents the lift from
travelling if the rated load is exceeded.
•It is forbidden for children to use the lift unless accompanied by an adult who knows how to use it (refer to
national regulations).
•Do not take flammable materials into the car.
•Do not smoke in the car.
•Never use the lift in the presence of external hazards (e.g. earth uake, fire).

2.4 MACHINERY ROOM
ROOM SPECIFICATIONS
The lift’s machinery room can be classified as follows:
A) Machinery room inside the well with external electrical panel in a cabinet
In any case, the following conditions must be fulfilled:
•Instructions on how to carry out the manual emergency operation and use the emergency key for the
landing doors must be displayed in the machinery room;
•The machinery room must always be kept locked to prevent unauthorised persons from entering;
•Authorised persons are: members of any Inspection Bodies and the lift maintenance company’s personnel.
The custodial personnel of the building or the lift owner may only enter in an emergency, and only if properly
instructed, to carry out the emergency operation and evacuate the passengers from the car.
•No foreign material must be stored in the machinery room.
•The temperature in the machinery room must be between 5 and 40 °C to prevent damage to the e uipment,
in accordance with regulations.
PRECAUTIONS FOR THE WELL
The lift is designed so that people are not endangered by its moving parts or can reach (directly or holding objects)
the e uipment in the well and impair its operation.
To this end, the well is fitted with panelled protections in accordance with the technical regulations in force.

2.5 CLEANING
Purpose
The areas that eed clea i g are: the i terior of the car, the la di g doors a d door frames, the butto s a d i dicator
plates a d the sill of the car a d la di g doors.
Responsibility
Clea i g operatio s must be carried out exclusively by perso el authorized by the ow er a d trai ed for the purpose
by the mai te a ce compa y a d i a y case i the prese ce of compete t perso el from the mai te a ce
compa y.
Safety Precautions
Whe usi g electrical clea i g equipme t i side the car, care must be take so that the la di g doors a d cabi doors
do ot close while the electrical applia ce is co ected to the power supply.
Instructions
Whe clea i g, the followi g rules must be observed:
1. Never use clea i g products co tai i g solve ts or abrasives,
2. All materials ca be easily clea ed with a damp cloth.
3. Whe clea i g differe t materials, always use the product a d clea i g method suitable for the most
delicate material.
Avoid letti g the water flow i to the cabi , i to the shaft a d i to the pit.
Clea the sills a d door grooves with a vacuum clea er. Use slow-steami g solve ts such as white spirit or kerose e to
dissolve solidified dirt a d the remove it with a brush. If ecessary, scrape off solidified dirt.
Clea the car pa els, car doors a d la di g doors with products appropriate for each material.
Materials with a textured surface, or which show sig s of fi ish (brushi g, grai , etc.), must be clea ed i the directio
of the surface fi ish. Clea i g across the fi ishes may damage the surface.
Stainless steel
Recomme ded clea i g products: specific clea i g age ts for stai less steel, such as isopropyl alcohol.
Polished stainless steel has a very delicate fi ish. Follow the rules listed below for clea i g:with a stai less steel
polishi g compou d, spray the surface a d clea with a white cotto cloth. Polish with a other cotto cloth.
The molded / engraved stainless steel is aesthetic a d resista t to va dalism. Follow the rules listed below for
clea i g:
clea the surface with a damp cloth usi g warm soapy water (do ot use deterge ts).
Ri se usi g a damp cloth a d cold, clea water.
Allow to dry a d the polish with a clea , dry white cotto cloth.
Colored stainless steel requires special care. For clea i g, follow the same procedure used for modeled / e graved
stai less steel.

Wood and veneer
Recomme ded clea i g products: liquid degreasi g a d clea i g age ts. Apply with a soft cotto cloth or spo ge,
polish a d wipe dry.
Glass and mirrors
Recomme ded clea i g products: commercially available glass clea i g fluids. White spirit diluted with water. Apply
with a soft cotto cloth, polish a d wipe dry.
Synthetic resin panels
Recomme ded clea i g products: commercially available plastic clea i g age ts (co tai i g alcohol). Clea with a
soft cotto cloth. Apply clea i g age ts i moderatio . Clea , polish, dry.
Painted finishes
Recomme ded clea i g products: degreasi g a d mild liquid age ts based o alcohol or hydrocarbo s. It is advisable
to test the reactio o a small hidde surface before usi g it o all the material. Clea with a soft, dry cotto cloth.
Plastic laminates
Recomme ded clea i g products: commercially available plastic clea i g age ts co tai i g alcohol o ly. It is
advisable to test the reactio o a small hidde surface before usi g it o all the material. Clea with a soft, dry cotto
cloth.
Carpets
Recomme ded clea i g products: commercially available carpet clea i g products or solve ts based o
hydrocarbo s, chlori ated hydrocarbo s or alcohol. Clea with a vacuum clea er, lather a d ri se with a wet spo ge.
Let it dry well.
Synthetic / rubber floor coverings
Recomme ded clea i g products: liquid clea i g a d degreasi g age ts or alcohol (eg propyl alcohol). Wipe with a
damp floor cloth.
Stones and tiles
Recomme ded clea i g products: soapy water (o wet cloths).
Seals of the thresholds and decking surfaces
Recomme ded clea i g products: wet cloths (do ot use deterge ts).
Brush the cha els to remove dirt a d dust. Use a vacuum clea er if ecessary.

chemicals, especially for plastic surfaces.
Ma y products are made of polycarbo ate, ABS, methacrylate or ylo 66. The use of clea i g products co tai i g
eve mi imally ammo ia, hydrocarbo s, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, itric acid, acetic acid, ethyl alcohol, methyl
alcohol are absolutely prohibited.

-Microfiber cloth;
-a pair of cotto gloves (recomme ded);
It is important to keep your hands clean throughout the cleaning phase.
Avoid touchi g parts of the lift soiled with oil or grease. Eve if you wear
gloves, avoid getti g them dirty;
1. Positio yourself with the cabi o the top floor a d start clea i g the ropes starti g from the top.
Spray the product o the cloth a d pass the cloth over a sectio of a rope. The operatio must be
do e with the car stationary.
The rope is clea whe the cloth makes friction on the rope;
2. Move o to the ext rope. Place the cloth behi d the rope to be clea ed, spray the product a d
pass the cloth over the rope. The ropes must be clea ed one at a time;

3 PUSH-BUTTON PANELS
The following push-button panels can be installed in the lift:
•Push-button panels for lift with universal operation;
•Push-button panels for lift with collective down operation;
•Push-button panels for lift with collective up-down operation.
3.1 PUSH-BUTTON PANELS FOR LIFT WITH UNIVERSAL OPERATION
The push-button panel for a lift with universal operation consists of the following.
The following buttons and indicators (minimum supply) are provided on the floors:
•Call button, which the user must press to call the lift;
•In use signal or blue indicator, showing that the lift is not immediately available.
The following buttons and indicators are in the car:
•Button with floor number;
•Yellow alarm button with bell symbol;
•Door reopening button with outline of double arrow;
•Luminous car position signal;
•Luminous and audible car overload signal.
3.2 PUSH-BUTTON PANELS FOR LIFT WITH COLLECTIVE DOWN
OPERATION
The push-button panel for a lift with collective down operation consists of the following.

4 OPERATION

The lift is designed so that people are not endangered b its moving parts or can reach (directl
or holding objects) the equipment in the well and impair its operation.
To this end, the well is fitted with panelled protections in accordance with the technical
regulations in force.
4.1 TYPES OF OPERATION
The lift can operate with the following logics or types of operation:
•Universal
•Collective down
•Collective up and down
It may be in one of the following statuses during operation:
STATUS DESCRIPTION
FREE Car stopped and landing doors closed.
IN USE / BUSY Car moving or landing doors open.
