Thank you for having purchased a GOLD NOTE® product.

Introduction

The GOLD NOTE® manufactures a wide range

of prestigious and sophisticated design audio

products featuring unique and innovative

technical and aesthetic characteristics. The

Bellavista Maggiore is the single plinth top

class turntable of the rigid series.

The turntable is carefully made of parts

exclusively manufactured for Gold Note with

the highest standards and quality materials to

reach superior sonic performance.

The Bellavista Maggiore features an innovative

30mm thick extra light composite multilayer

plinth covered with real Italian leather. The

plinth handles a 20mm thick platter made of

solid black polyvinyl. Underneath the platter there are 9 chromed weights to increase the peripheral mass of the

platter.

Such new turntable concept plinth features a natural dampening ability enables the Bellavista to

performincredible level of dynamicwith super extendeddetailsboth in the bass and highs with a natural

smoothness and realism hardly available on heavy traditional turntables.

The platter bearing/spindle system is designed to achieve the best possible performance.

The bronze platter bearing is threaded externally to allow convenient in axis fixing to the plinth. The platter

bearing is machined, rectified and properly polished to find the greatest tolerance with the spindle. The 2 pieces

rectified hard steel Split-Spindle™ clamps the platter to eliminate and keep the platter perfectly coupled to the

mechanical set up.

At the bottom of the platter bearing a special thrust washer made of Arnite© allows a smoother turntable rotation

and eventually a VTA further adjustment.

The Bellavista Maggiore also employs a high precisionaluminium pulley to guarantee perfect speed capability.

Construction features

-The Bellavista Maggiore is a rigid design turntable that featuring a extra lighted composite plinth covered with real leather helps

dampening to reduce the acoustic feedback vibration problem.

-The plinth lays on 3 aluminium feet having conical shape to ensure greater insensitivity to vibrations. Each foot has a recessed spike

may be used to couple rigidly the turntable on its shelf.

-The turntable platter is made of “extruded” polyvinyl, an ideal very deaf dampening material. Below the platter there are 9 chromed

weights, which increase the peripheral inertia to improve the rotational stability.

-The 80mm long spindle is made of Hard-Steel; it is rectified & polished to achieve very strict mechanical tolerances. A large

longitudinal groove is located on its axis, which allows the lubricating oil to run in constant manner. The much long spindle eradicates

any pendulum effect and distributes the inertial energy along its entire axis, virtually annulling any type of lateral friction.

-When the turntable is new the spindle will tend to “clean” any residual dirt in the bearing making a possible slight rubbing noise. In this

way even the tiniest residual friction built up after only a couple hundred hours operation will be completely eliminated.

-The bearing that houses the spindle is made of bronze featuring a thrust washer made of

ARNITE

® located at its bottom that allows:

-Perfect coupling.

-Adjustment of the platter height.

-The possibility of replacing the thrust washer keeps the turntable plinth perfectly shaped as new ever.

-Besides the platter bearing is threaded on the outside in order to be tightly anchored to the plinth of the turntable on its axis. The

bearing is locked onto a brass ring support specially designed to obtain a perfect flat matching.

-The Bellavista Maggiore features an aluminium record clamp that is been designed to achieve perfect coupling with the vinyl records.

-The motor is a customised AC synchronous 24 pole featuring very high torque coefficient. The Motor performs the innovative HDM

(Highly Dampened Motor) system to drastically reduce vibrations

-The pulley enables 33⅓/45 speed

N.B.: Polyvinyl is an inert, rigid material that makes it ideal for absorbing vibrations. With its extremely elevated technical characteristics

this material is easily subjected to small surface scratches. Particular care must therefore be paid to clean the platter and the turntable with

a very soft cloth. Avoid the use of any type of solvent.

Besides the real leather also requires particular care and to be cleaned exclusively with soft cotton cloth and eventual gentle soap. Real

leather may present some minor aesthetic imperfections guarantees the originality of the material.

Set-up Instructions

1) Remove the turntable and parts from the box and check all the parts of the content list is available.

2) Place the Bellavista Maggiore plinth on the levelled surface chosen for it. We recommend a wall shelf, as they are the sturdiest

and immune to footfall, but a well made equipment rack should give satisfactory results also.

3) Remove the adhesive cap from the platter bearing of the Bellavista Maggiore.

4) Before inserting into the bronze bearing of the turntable, remove the small jar of oil and slightly wet a bit the platter spindle

using your finger.

5) Installing the spindle into the bearing requires particular care, also because the strict tolerance it may need some time before the

spindle fully drops down into the bearing well. Please notice that the platter bearing features an adjustable thrust washer that

allow fine adjustment of the platter height. Upon installation, a small amount of oil may leak out past the threads on the white

screw due to the pressure of the compressed air.

6) Remove the platter from the foam and carefully place it into the spindle with the brass weights facing down.

7) Remove the Aluminium record clamp from the foam and place it on top of the platter centre.

8) Install the black belt wrapping the outer diameter of the platter and the required pulley groove.

9) The pulley on the Bellavista Maggiore is a 33⅓/45rpm pulley. Notice there are 3 grooves in the pulley. The mid smaller groove is

for 33⅓rpm, and the lower larger groove is for 45rpm.

10) Before attempting to mount a tone arm you must level the platter using a spirit level. Be sure to level the platter both front to

back, and side-to-side.

11) Install your selected 12” arm following the manufacturer instruction. Gold Note manufactures fine tone-arms such as the 12” U-

312 fit perfectly the Bellavista Maggiore.

Dust Cover (optional)

The Dust Cover is available for the Bellavista Maggiore as optional.

Because the special design and shape of the turntable it is available the Dust Cover is a hand made acrylic item manufactured to be

positioned on the unit without any hinges.

Positioning the Bellavista Maggiore

The Bellavista Maggiore turntable must be protected from variations of temperature and humidity. Avoid to use it close to heat sources,

electrical and electronic motors, mobile phones etc. The location by other audio gears is not critical, nevertheless it is necessary to pay

attention to do this. The levelling and positioning on a solid shelf, as explained in the previous chapter, are fundamental elements to ensure

the maximum sound performances.

PLEASE NOTE: Check that the correct voltage is indicated on your turntable. Incorrect voltage could cause irreparable damage.

Wrapping the belt in the smaller mid position groove of the motor pulley, the turntable will run at 33⅓rpm, while in the larger lower

groove it will run at 45 rpm. This positioning must be changed manually. The pulley may be covered by a chromed high mass brass cover

available as optional.

Turning on

The On/Off switch is located on the left bottom corner of the turntable plinth. Once the switch has been turned to ON (1) the turntable

will start working at the selected speed selection.

To validate the warranty is necessary to register the unit on the Gold Note internet web site within 15 days from the purchase:

If the unit is not registered correctly or is been purchased from a different country of the purchaser origin/home the unit will not be covered

by any warranty and the eventual registration refused.

The warranty does not cover in any case: Tubes, Phono Cartridge Styli and Batteries.

All GOLD NOTE® products are the result of meticulous technological research, and consequently their correct functioning is guaranteed. In

spite of this it is possible that problems may emerge which non-specialist users cannot resolve. In this case, contact your dealer who will

advise you on how to resolve the problem.

Do not return any object directly to the factory or to the national distributor without being authorized in write. In such cases both GOLD

NOTE® and the distribution agents operating within your territory decline responsibility of any kind.

Troubleshooting

Adjustment

ACTION DESCRIPTION HOW TO ADJUST IT

LEVELLING THE TURNTABLE 

The Turntable is not levelled

With a spirit level, only level the Turntable

Platter through its shelf layer eventually screwing its feet

just for very fine adjustment, take care of levelling the

platter on its vertical and horizontal lines



The Turntable is not levelled

Be sure that the turntable layer is enough solid

and rigid to support the weight of the turntable easily

VTA ADJUSTMENT 

VTA tone arm is not adjustable

The 3 arm board collar hex bolts are screwed

into the collar too much and do not let the arm shaft gets

in it; unscrew the hex bolts before inserting the arm



VTA tone arm is not adjustable

The tone arm shaft is too big to get into the

collar; ask your local dealer to have a custom made collar

may fit such arm



VTA tone arm is hard to adjust

Once the proper height of the arm is been

approximately reached, fix the shaft with just a hex bolt

before screwing properly all the 3 hex bolts of the collar;

then once all the other adjustment are properly set fix

well, but not too tighten all the 3 hex bolts

CLEANING THE TURNTABLE 

The Turntable is dirty and

needs to be cleaned

Only use soft cotton cloths to clean the

turntable.

Any liquid may ruin the turntable finish
