2.4 DRIVING
The Goldfish 28 Tender has a class leading hull shape that is the culmination of more than 20 years of
making the world’s finest and most efficient high performance boats. The result is a very stable hull
with exceptionally low fuel consumption, high speed with comparatively modest engine sizes, a virtually
non-existent planing angle, and driving characteristics in a class of its’ own. A key apsect of the design
brief was to create safe handling and easy maneuvering capabilities; two points that we are proud to
have accomplished. That being said, there are some points that can help first-time Goldfish owners get
the most from their boating experience;
GOLDFISH GUIDE TO MAXIMIZING YOUR BOATING PLEASURE:
1. Always have the engine cut-off cord aached to your body and wear a suitable life vest.
2. Trimming the engine down before accellerating reduces the planing time.
3. Try to avoid sharp turns at high speed.
4. Always adhere to the law, and remember that common sense is the best thing to bring on your
boat.
5. Remember that most people are not familiar with travelling at speed at sea. Always keep an eye
on your passengers, and make sure that they are comfortable and feel safe on board.
6. Try to keep your steering and throle inputs smooth and consistent.
7. Always be 100% sure of where you are and where you are going. If in any doubt, reduce your
speed and get up to date.
8. Never expect that other boaters behave in the same manner as yourself. Keep a safe distance to
other boats, and have full control of objects ahead of you. Remember that your Goldfish can cover
ground faster than most other boats, and objects in the distance can be in your vicinity a lot faster
than you think.
9. Always try to prepare mooring ropes and/or fenders before mooring. Remove ropes and fenders
immediately aer leaving the mooring site; there is no excuse for driving with the fenders out.
10. Keep calm and in control at all times.
11. Remember to check weather forecasts for longer crossing.
12. Always help other boaters in distress.
We highly recommend owners that lack experience to get suitable training to maximize the
driving pleasure and ownership of your Goldfish. You find more tips on handling your Goldfish in
the tutorials on our website.

2.4 MOORING
Aer mooring make sure that your Goldfish is properly fastened using the boat’s cleats. If necessary
use fenders to protect the boat - remember that fenders are also used to protect other boats from
damage from your boat.
Trim up the drive to avoid corrosion and growth on the engine.
Switch the main power switch to the OFF position whenever leaving the boat for more than 24 hours.
Check that all lockers are closed.
Put rear backrest in sunbed position and put on the harbor cover to protect the boat.
2.5 FUEL & OIL
The fuel filler for the Goldfish 28 Tender is located on the a
base of the rear seat.
To remove the fuel filler cap, use the special tool that is
provided with your boat and unscrew the cap. Your 28 Tender
will run on ordinary unleaded petrol.
If your Goldfish 28 Tender is equipped with one or two two-
stroke engine a seperate oil tank is fied to give an optimal
fuel/oil mixture at all times. This oil tank is located under the
hatch immediately in front of the fuel filler cap, and an alarm
willsoundwhentheoillevelislow.Pleaserefillwithappropriate
two-stroke oil when the alarm goes off. Simply unscrew the
filler cap on top of the oil tank and pour oil according to your
engine specification in the tank.

6. TOWING & STOWAGE
6.1 TOWING YOUR GOLDFISH (UNLIKELY)
If for any reason you should need to tow your Goldfish, make sure to secure the towing line to the towing
hook mounted on the bow of the boat:
NOTE! Make sure that you do not use a self-tightening knot, as it will be
very difficult to untie aer the tow. We recommend using the bowline
knot (Pålestikk in Norwegian):
6.2 TOWING YOUR FRIEND (MORE LIKELY)
As only a small percentage of boats are made by
Goldfish, it is very likely that you will encounter
other boats in need of towing from time to time:).
For this purpose, the 28 Tender is fied with two
towing hooks a - one on either side.
As far as possible, try to secure the towing line to
both towing hooks a.This makes for a much safer
and more stable towing.
There are a number of useful tips to keep in mind
when towing:
Towing hook

OWNER’S MANUAL
GOLDFISH 28 TENDER
Page 15
USEFUL TIPS FOR TOWING:
»Secure the towing line before the other boat approaches, so that everything is ready.
»Use a long line for towing; preferably at least 20 meters long
»If possible, make sure that the towing boat makes a v-shaped rope aached to at least 2
strong points, and that the towing line is fastened to the middle of this rope. Use a sheet bend
(Flaggstikk in Norwegian) or similar knot that does not allow slip.
»If possible, try to position the knot at the end of this V-shape so that it is around 0,5 meters
ahead of the propellor of the towing boat. If not, you will have difficulties maneuvering the boat.
SAFETY PRECAUTION
Make sure that the towing rope is intact and of suitable strength before towing, and check
all knots before starting the tow. If the rope for any reason should break loose, the boat will
lunge forward and may cause injury.
6.3 STOWING
When stowing your 28 Tender it is important to ensure that the boat is secure and stable. Use at least
two supports a (one on each side) and one placed centrally at least 1/3rd from the bow.
Some usefull tips when stowing your boat:
»Remove boom plug when stowing - remember to insert before launching.
»Disconnect baery, conserve engine and wax gelcoat before stowing.
»Custom fied stowage cover from Goldfish is recommended.
