IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Special Warning for Installation of Furnace or Air Handling Units in
Enclosed Areas such as Garages, Utility Rooms or Parking Areas
Carbon monoxide producing devices (such as an automobile, space
heater, gas water heater, etc.) should not be operated in enclosed areas
such as unventilated garages, utility rooms or parking areas because of
the danger of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning resulting from the exhaust
emissions. If a furnace or air handler is installed in an enclosed area such
as a garage, utility room or parking area and a carbon monoxide producing
device is operated therein, there must be adequate, direct outside
ventilation.
This ventilation is necessary to avoid the danger of CO poisoning which
can occur if a carbon monoxide producing device continues to operate in
the enclosed area. Carbon monoxide emissions can be (re)circulated
throughout the structure if the furnace or air handler is operating in any
mode.
CO can cause serious illness including permanent brain damage or death.

Media Air Cleaner. For use with currentarchitectural greyGoodman® and Amana® Brand 96% variable speed,
modulating furnace models.The Amana (AMU*) and Goodman (GMU*) Media Air Cleaner is a high efficiency
airfiltration device designed to remove dirt, dust,pollen and othermicroscopicparticles from the air passing
through it.Flexible performance range up to 2,000 CFMcapacity. The air cleaner should be installed in the
system so that all the system air is circulated through the air cleaner.The air cleaner will onlyremove the
airborne contaminants delivered to it.Maximum performance is obtained when the system blower is setfor

are available for the following furnace widths:17.5" wide (CFB17), 21"wide (CFB21) and 24"wide (CFB24).
The kits must be used to preventexcessive temperature from reaching combustible materials, ifthe furnace is
installed on a combustible floor.This subbase effectivelyseparated the furnace base and plenum from
combustible materials.To ensure safe installation, do notinstall the counterflow floor base directlyon
carpeting, tile, or other combustible material other than wood flooring.

provides positive ON-OFFsettings for manual operation.The control is a normallyclosed switch thatopens on
