Water Leak Detector
Govee Water Leak Detector is a device that sounds an alarm
once detecting water drip or leak. Connecting to Wi -Fi via the
gateway, it instantly sends you alert notifications of water
leaking by app or email whether you are at home or outside.
* 433 is a co mm uni ca tion protocol with a frequen cy of 433MH z.

Installing Your Device
0 Plug the gateway into a power outlet;
f) Lay the water leak detector flat.
Not ic e: Keep distance between the gateway and the
detector less than

Preparation Before Connecting
0 A Wi-Fi router supporting the 2.4GHz (NOT SGHz) and 802.11
b/g/n bands.
(Notice: Most
of SGHz routers can al so be set to 2.4GHz
band or dual band .)
f) Make sure Wi-Fi name and password are correct.
f) A smartphone or tablet supporting 2.4GHz network.
0 Download the app named Govee Home from the App Store
(iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices).
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
0 Connect your phone to 2.4GHz network;
Not ice : Android device u sers should turn on Loc at i on and
iOS users should tap Settin g- Govee Home - Loc ation -
Always in your phone.
f) Open Govee Home, tap"+" ic on in the top right corner and
se lect "HS040";

E) Press and hold Wi-Fi Pairing Button" Ill" for 3s.The gateway
will get ready to connect to Wi-Fi when the indicator flashes
blue slowly;

hold for 3s.
Flash blue slowly.
0 Follow on-screen instructions in the app to complete the
co nn ect ion;
0 Connected to Wi-Fi successfull y. The indicator keeps solid
blue and you can find the water leak detector in the devi ce list;
Notice: If you ca nnot find the detector, please swipe down the
device list page to refresh or refer to "Add or Re-add Water
Leak Detector" below to add the detecto r.

Notification Setting
App notif ication: Open app, se lect "water leak detector" in
the device list, and tap setting icon in the top right corner.
Receive information push
Turn
on/off notification push for water leak.
Sound alarm
Turn on/off the so und of app notification.
Vibration alarm
Turn on/off the vibration of app notification.
Email notification: Open app, and tap "My Profile" .:. in the
lower rightcorner ---"Notification settings".
Receive information push
Turn on/off email notification for water leak.

Add or Re-add Water Leak Detector
Notice: The detector is added by default when the gateway
connects
to Wi-Fi successfully.

f) Put the detector nearby the gateway. Press the Push
Button and the detector will send pairing signal;

0 Swipe down the device list page in app to refresh and you
can find the new-added device;

e If the gateway fails to pair to the detector in 30s, its indicator
wi ll flash blue quickly and it will exit the pairing mode.
e There's 1s delay for beep sound after you press the Push
Button.
e Please check the above steps and try again if pairing fa il s.
Troubleshooting
0 The gateway cannot connect to Wi-Fi. I The connection is
unstable.
a. SGHz network is not supported. The device only supports
2.4GHz.
b. Check the name of the network and password.
c. Place the gateway within coverage of the router signa l.
d. No obstructions like metal door or wall between the
gateway and the detector are suggested. 10

6 The water leak detector ca nnot work.
a. Pull out the insulation sheet before using.
b.Open the back cover via a PHOO/PHO sc rewdriver, remove
and re-install the battery.
c. Check whether the battery is running low.
6 No/Delayed notification in the app.
a. Make sure that Android device users t urn on Location
and i
OS users select "Setting- Govee Home- Location-
Always" in the phone.
b. Keep the distance between the gateway and the detector
as close as possible.
c. No obstructions between the gateway and the detector is
su ggested.
d. The time interval between two water detection should be
longer than 90s, otherwise the app won't push
notification.
e. Check whether the indicator of the gateway flashes when
the detector is triggered. If not, please re-add the
detector.
Warning
0 Keep devices work temperature within 32 • F- 140•F and
hum i dity below 90%RH.
6 Do not disassemble devices violently.
