The OBD-II port is a 16 pin plug which is
common in most late model vehicles and
light trucks from 2006 onwards.
Before you begin the installation make sure you have all the following
components to complete the install.
Only required if mounting the device behind the dash or kick panel.
The OBD-II port is usually located under the dashboard, beneath the
steering wheel column (1 - 3 in the diagram below).
Note: If not located beneath the steering column, look for the port in
the areas indicated by numbers 4-6.

Choose a location where the vehicle is outdoors and NOT underground.
eg. carpark or garage. In a single motion, push the RoadScout device
firmly all the way into the OBD port.
Choose a location where the vehicle is outdoors and not underground
like a carpark or garage. Remove the cover of the kick panel or side of
the dashboard on the driver side.
ŸPlug the OBD extension cable into the OBD port.
ŸIMPORTANT ensure you mount the device with the label facing up
to the sky or inside of the cabin. Making sure no metal is covering
the label on the device.
ŸFind a usually the inside of the chassis flat rigid surface or frame
wall, or up high under the dash with the label facing up and mount
the RoadScout securely using cable ties.
ŸPlug the optional OBD extension cable in the RoadScout device.
ŸReinstall the kick panel cover.

Ensure the excess cabling is rolled up and cable tied
ensuring the cable can’t drop down at the drivers feet.

Ensure the device does not protrude out or interfere
with the driver entering or existing the vehicle.

Once the vehicle is running call GPSi Support Team on 1300 438 477
to confirm the device is communicating and operating as expected.
It is law that any vehicle being monitored must have a notice that is
clearly in view of the driver that indicates that the vehicle has a
telematics device installed. Place the sticker high on the inside corner of
the windscreen.
You would’ve received the link to the Online Installer Form when the
installation was booked. Follow that link to complete the installation
process. Remember to take photos of the RoadScout device OBD and
connection for the photos to be uploaded.
Start the vehicle
Apply the GPS Notice Sticker
Complete the Online Installer Form
