Safety and accident prevention rules
2.1 General safety instructions for power tools
Read all safety instructions and instructions for use. Failure to follow the warnings and
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Keep all warning notices
and instructions for later reference! The term “power tool(s)” in the warnings refers to both
mains-operated (corded) power tools or battery-operated (cordless) power tools.
Safety in the work area
oKeep work areas clean and well lit. Untidy or dim areas increase the risk of
accidents.
oDo not operate power tools in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools produce sparks that
can ignite dust and fumes.
oKeep children and uninvolved persons away while operating your power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical safety
oAvoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, stoves, and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electrocution when your body comes
into contact with the earth (ground).
oDo not expose power tools to rain or moisture. The risk of electric shock
increases when water enters a power tool.

Operating Instructions
7306010
4
oAlways hold the power tool by its insulated gripping surfaces when performing
any operation where the fastener may contact concealed wiring or its own cable.
Fasteners that come in contact with live wires can energize exposed metal parts
of the power tool and electrocute the operator.
Personal safety
oBe attentive, pay attention to what you are doing, and act reasonably and
responsibly when operating the power tool. Do not operate power tools when you
are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A single moment
of inattention when operating power tools can result in serious injury.
oBe sure to wear your personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment for the appropriate conditions, such as a dust mask, non-
slip safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection, reduce the risk of injury or its
severity.
oPrevent unintentional starting. Make sure that the switch is in the off position
before connecting the tool to the mains or battery, picking it up or carrying it.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or turning on power tools
where the switch is already engaged increases the risk of an accident.
oDo not lean too far forward. Always maintain firm footing and balance. This
allows proper control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
oWear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair,
clothing and gloves away from the moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery and
long hair can get caught in moving parts.
Use and care of power tools
oDo not use excessive force with the power tool. Use the right power tool for your
job. The right power tool will do the job better and safer at the speed it is
designed for.
oDo not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power
tool that cannot be controlled with the switch provided is a hazard and must be
repaired.
oDisconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery from the power
tool before making adjustments, changing accessories or storing the power tool.
oSuch preventive safety measures reduce the risk of accidental start-up of the
power tool.
oKeep power tools that are not in use out of the reach of children. Do not allow
persons who are not familiar with the power tool or these instructions to operate
this power tool. Power tools can be dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
oMaintain power tools regularly. Check the power tool for misalignment and for
any jamming of moving parts, broken parts, and any other condition that may
affect the operation of the tool. If the power tool is damaged, have it repaired
before using it. Accidents are often caused by poorly maintained tools.
oKeep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges jam less often and are easier to control.
oOnly use the power tool, accessories and tool heads etc. in accordance with these
instructions and while taking into account the working conditions and the work to
be carried out. Using the power tool for work other than that for which it is
intended can result in hazardous situations.

Use and care of the battery pack
oOnly charge the battery using the charger specified by the manufacturer. Using a
charger that is not designed for a particular type of battery pack may cause a fire
when used with another type of battery pack.
oOnly use power tools with specially designed battery packs. The use of other
batteries may cause injury and fire.
oWhen the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects such
as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can
connect from one terminal to the other. Short-circuiting the battery terminals can
cause burns and fire.
oImproper use may cause liquid to leak from the battery; avoid contact. If
accidental contact occurs, rinse the area with water. If liquid gets into the eye,
rinse the eye immediately with clear - preferably running - water and seek
medical attention immediately. Liquid leaking from the battery may cause
irritation or burns.
Maintenance
oYour power tool should only be repaired by qualified personnel using identical
spare parts. This ensures that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
oProduct-related safety instructions
Do not remove any installed covers or screws in order to ensure the intended
function of power tools.
Operate the power tool with a lower power consumption than indicated on the type
plate, otherwise the surface may be damaged and the working efficiency can be
reduced by overloading the motor.
Do not wipe plastic parts with solvents. Solvents such as petrol, thinner, benzene,
carbon tetrachloride, alcohol, ammonia and chlorinated oil can damage and crack
plastic parts. Do not wipe plastic parts with such solvents. Wipe plastic parts gently
with a soft cloth that has been lightly moistened with soapy water.
Use clamps or other convenient devices to secure and support the workpiece on a
stable platform. Holding the workpiece in your hand or against your body makes it
unstable and may cause it to slip out of your control.
Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories
that are not suitable for one appliance may pose a risk of injury when used on
another appliance.
2.2 Important safety instructions for charger and battery pack
Caution:To reduce the risk of injury, only charge the specific type of battery pack.
Other types of battery packs can burst and cause injury and claims.
Read all instructions and warnings on the battery packs and chargers before using
the charger.
Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
To minimise the risk of damage to the plug and cable, pull on the plug and not the
cable when disconnecting the charger.
Use of accessories not recommended or sold by the charger manufacturer may result
in fire, electric shock or injury.
Make sure that the cable is laid in such a way that it cannot be stepped on or tripped
over or otherwise damaged or stressed.
Do not operate the charger with a damaged cable or plug. Replace damaged
components immediately.

Operating Instructions
7306010
6
Do not operate the charger if it has received a hard blow, been dropped or otherwise
damaged.
To minimise the risk of electric shock, unplug the charger from the wall socket before
carrying out any maintenance or cleaning. Switching off the controls does not reduce
this risk.
Do not disassemble the charger and battery –take it to a qualified service centre if
repair is required. Improper assembly may result in electric shock and fire.
2.3 Additional safety instructions for charger and battery pack
Do not charge the battery pack if the temperature is below 0°C (32°F) or above
40°C (104°F).
Do not attempt to use a transformer, motor generator or DC socket.
Make sure that the charger’s ventilation openings are not covered or blocked.
Always cover the battery pack terminals with the battery pack cover when the
battery pack is not in use.
Do not short-circuit the battery pack.
Do not touch the connections with conductive material.
Do not store the battery pack in a container with other metal objects such as nails,
coins, etc.
Do not expose the battery pack to water or rain. A short circuit of the battery pack
can lead to excessive current flow, overheating, burns and failure.
Do not store the unit and battery pack in locations where the temperature may reach
or exceed 50°C (122°F).
Do not burn the battery pack, even if it is badly damaged or completely worn out.
The battery pack may explode in the event of a fire.
Do not drop or shake the battery pack.
Do not charge the battery in a closed box or other container. The battery pack must
be placed in a well-ventilated area during charging.
Do not leave batteries unused for a long period of time. Charge the battery every
3~6 months and bring the Li-ion battery to a charge level of 40~80% before
storage.
Li-ion batteries are sensitive to high temperatures and should be stored in a cool, dry
place away from direct light. The ideal temperature for operation and storage is
below 25°C (77°F).
To prolong battery life, the lithium-ion battery is equipped with a protection function
that stops discharge.
Using this product as described below may cause the motor to stop even if you have
switched on the appliance.
This is not a malfunction, but the result of a protective function.
oThe motor will stop when the remaining battery power is running low.
oIf the unit is overloaded, the motor may stop.
oIn this case, release the switch on the device and eliminate the cause of the
overload. You can then use the unit again.
If the battery overheats when overloaded, battery power may stop. In this case, stop
using the battery and let it cool down. You can then use the unit again.
This product is equipped with an undervoltage protection that protects the tool from
over-discharge and prolongs the life of the battery.

Disposal
On a product, the symbol of a dustbin with a cross through it means that the product cannot
be disposed of with the household waste. In the case of batteries or rechargeable
batteries/accumulators containing mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb), the chemical
symbol is shown under the crossed-out dustbin symbol. The end user has an obligation to
return the batteries or rechargeable batteries/accumulators. These can be handed in free of
charge to the retailer or at any collection point. Electronic devices and rechargeable
batteries/accumulators should be handed in separately to each other. Make sure that the
batteries or accumulators are in a discharged state or, if necessary, protected against short
circuits. When purchasing products, try to ensure that the products have a long service life.
to minimise the amount of waste produced. If your electric or electronic device contains
personal data, you are responsible for deleting it.
Incorrect disposal of batteries or rechargeable batteries/accumulators can, because of the
substances they contain, harm the environment and human health. Special care should be
taken when handling lithium batteries. Products should be checked to see if they can be re-
used, for example, by being repaired, before you dispose of them.
!!! Always observe local disposal regulations!!!
