9 Care and service
Before cleaning or any other maintenance task the unit must be
disconnected from the mains supply
9.1 Cleaning
Clean the outside of the unit with a damp cloth. Domestic detergents may be used to
remove stubborn dirt.
Before using any other cleaning or decontamination method, check with Grant
Instruments or your local representative to make sure that the proposed method will not
damage the equipment.
9.2 UV lamp lifetime and replacement
The two UV lamps have a lifetime of 9000 hours. The unit will display an amber warning
when there are 500 hours of life remaining. When the lifetime has expired completely the
unit will display a flashing red warning.
The UV lamps are replaceable by a competent person. Grant Instruments offer
replacement UV lamps as part of a service pack. Contact
salesdesk@grantinstruments.com.
Attempted replacement of the UV lamps may result in exposure to
dangerous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation may, even in small doses,
cause harm to the eyes and skin
9.3 Filter lifetime and replacement
The internal HEPA filter has a limited lifetime. The performance of the filter will depend
on the cleanliness of the environment. The performance can be maximised by keeping
the area around the ap360 clear of dust and lint.
Grant Instruments recommends the filter is replaced at the same time as the UV lamps.
Grant Instruments offer replacement filters as part of a service pack which can be fitted
by a competent person. Contact salesdesk@grantinstruments.com
If you do not replace the filter when recommended the performance of
the ap360 will be severely affected

Operating Manual Page 13

9.4 Fuses
The fuses are internal and are not user replaceable.
9.5 Replacing the mains cord
Any replacement mains cord-set used with the unit must meet the same specification as
the one originally supplied with the unit to maintain the safety of the unit.
For Europe (including the UK), the cable must have the following markings; <HAR>,
HO5VV-F 3Gx1mm2 and be rated to carry 10A. The mains plug and IEC connector must
carry approvals from a European certification body (e.g. BSI, VDE or equivalent).
For Australia the cable must have the following markings; HO5VV-F 3Gx1mm2 and be
rated to carry 10A. The mains plug, lead and IEC connector must carry approvals from
an Australian regional authority (e.g. N, NSW or equivalent).
For North America, the cable must have the following markings; SVT, 3x 18AWG, VW-1,
75°C, 300V, FT2 and be rated to carry 10A. The mains plug, lead and IEC connector
must carry 3rd party approval marks for Canada and the US (e.g. CSA and UL marks/file
numbers).
9.6 Routine safety tests
If routine tests are to be made, we recommend a test of the integrity of the protective
earth conductor and an insulation test at 500 V DC. Routine flash tests are not
recommended for any electrical equipment, because repeated high voltage tests degrade
insulation materials.
9.7 Customer support and service
Grant have a dedicated in-house technical support and service department on hand to
manage product support enquiries, service, and repairs.
For the ap360, Grant offer replacement part kits for UV lamp and filter replacement.
If repair is required, switch off the ap360 and contact Grant or your local representative.
