Please read this instruction man-
ual thoroughly prior to using this
appliance! Follow all safety in-
structions in order to avoid dam-
ages due to improper use!
Keep the instruction manual for
future reference. Should this ap-
pliance be given to a third party,
then this instruction manual must
also be handed over.

any other utensils away from
the appliance during operation

after the charging process,

appliance or the charging unit.

appliance should be connected
to a household residual current
device with a maximum rating of
30 mA. Consult your electrician

become wet. Please contact a
service centre in this case.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new
GRUNDIG rechargeable stick vacuum cleaner
VCH 9530.
Please read the following user notes carefully to
ensure you can enjoy your quality GRUNDIG
product for many years to come.

HEPA filter
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air.
HEPA filters are particulate air filters, which filter
more than 99.9% of all dust particles larger than
0.1 to 0.3 micrometres out of the air. Viruses,
respirable dusts, mite eggs and mite excrement,
pollen, smoke particles, asbestos, bacteria,
diverse toxic dusts and aerosols are removed
from the air.

PREPARATION _____________________________
Installing the parts
Lift the handle A and bring it to the vertical
position till it clicks.
Place the body D in a way to match with the slot
on the brush. Attach the brush till it clicks.
Press brush removal button to remove the body D
from the brush.
Charging the appliance
Note
7 For the first 3 uses, charge the appliance for
12 hours.
7 For the following uses, you can charge the ap-
pliance for 5 hours.
7 When the vacuum cleaner is in power shortage,
red light on the indicator board will be flashing.
Appliance needs to be charged promptly.

OPERATION _______________________________
1 Attach the thin tip of the charging adapter to
the charging port on the body D and then
plug the charging adapter in the socket.

– Charge indicator LEDs E flash white.
– When the charge indicator LED E light
white constantly, charging is completed.
2 Remove the thin tip of the charging adapter
and unplug it from the socket.
Switching on and off your
appliance
Press On/Off button B to switch on and off the
appliance.
Note
7 During operation the LEDs E on the body light
up white, LED at the brush lights up blue.
Warning:
7 While charging, the appliance will not start to
operate even if you press On/Off button B.
7 When a big object is trapped by the brush, the
appliance is switched off automatically for your
safety.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE _____________
Cleaning the dust container
Notes
7 It is recommended to clean the dust container
after every use.
Warning
7 Do not clean the appliance while it is running.
1 Press the dust container removal button to
remove the dust container.
2 Remove the filter from the dust container.
3 Empty the full dust container into a bin.
4 Separate HEPA filter, sponge filter and cyclone
element.

5 Clean the cyclonic filter, HEPA, sponge filter
and dust container under the running water.
6 Clean the body D of the appliance with a soft
damp cloth.
7 After all parts are dried, place the HEPA and
sponge filter into the cyclonic filter.
8 Place the cyclonic filter into the dust container.
9 Place the dust container into the body of the
appliance.
Cleaning the brush
1 Open the cover by using a screwdriver.

2 Remove the cover, pull out the brush and clean
it.

3 After cleaning and drying the brush roll, re-
attach it and secure the cover again with a
screwdriver.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE _____________
Storage
Store the appliance in a vertical position or with
its handle folded.
1 If you want to store the appliance with its
handle folded, press the handle folding button
C and fold the handle downwards.
INFORMATION ____________________________

The battery may be flat. Charge it.

The dust container may be full. Empty the dust container.

Plug in the power cord to the socket.
You may have forgotten to attach the
thin tip of the charging adapter to the
charging port.
Attach the thin tip of the charging
adapter to the charging port.
The appliance stays
in operation for a
very short time after
being charged.
The appliance may not be charged
enough.
Charge the appliance for 5 hours.
Service life of the battery may be
reduced.
Contact your GRUNDIG authorised
service.

Environmental note
This product has been manufactured with high-
quality parts and materials which can be re-used
and are suitable for recycling.
Therefore, do not dispose of the product
with normal domestic waste at the end
of its service life. Take it to a collection
point for the recycling of electrical and
electronic equipment, where the battery
is taken out of the device and disposed sepa-
rately. This is indicated by this symbol on the
product, in the operating manual and on the
packaging.
Please consult your local authorities to find out
where the nearest collection point is.
Help protect the environment by recycling used
