Caring for the Environment
Responsible disposal of the packaging
The packaging of your appliance has been selected from environmentally friendly
materials and can usually be recycled. Please ensure these are disposed of correctly.
Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, please
ensure all packaging materials are out of reach and are safely disposed of. Please
ensure they are offered for recycling rather than throwing these materials away.
Responsible disposal of the appliance
At the end of its working life, do not throw this appliance out with your household
rubbish. An environmentally friendly method of disposal will ensure that valuable raw
materials can be recovered and used again.
Electrical and electronic appliances contain materials and substances which, if handled
or disposed of incorrectly, could be potentially hazardous on the environment and
human health.
Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical consumer goods and
dispose of it appropriately for recycling and recovery of the refrigerant. This appliance
contains the flammable refrigerant isobutane (R600a) and cyclopentane (R141b) in the
cabinet insulation, and must be disposed of in a separate waste collection. Contact your
local authorities for advice on recycling facilities in your area.
Take care not to damage the pipework at the back of the appliance before or during
transportation so that the refrigerant gas cannot escape.
The plug must be rendered useless and the cable cut off directly behind the appliance or
the machine to prevent misuse.
DANGER. Risk of child entrapment: When discarding a fridge or freezer, make sure to
take off the door and the spring action or bolt catch. Leave the shelves in place so that
children cannot easily climb in, get trapped inside and suffocate.

Energy Saving Tips
•The appliance should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat
producing appliances or heating ducts and out of direct sunlight.
•Allow hot food to cool to room temperature before placing it in the appliance.
Overloading the appliance forces the compressor to run longer. Foods that freeze too
slowly may lose quality or spoil.
•Be sure to wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry before placing them in the
appliance, this will cut down on frost build-up inside the appliance.
•The storage bin should not be lined with aluminium foil, wax paper or paper towelling.
Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the appliance less efficient.
•Organise and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as
many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.

Getting Started
Cleaning Before Use
Wipe the inside of the appliance with a weak solution of bicarbonate soda. Then rinse
with warm water using a ‘wrung-out’ sponge or cloth. Wash the compartments in warm
soapy water and dry completely. Clean the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.
Before Using Your Appliance
Do not damage the power cord under any condition so as to ensure safe use, do not use
when the power cord is damaged or the plug is worn. Do not put flammable, explosive,
volatile and highly corrosive items in the appliance to prevent damages to the product
or fire accidents. Do not place flammable items near the appliance to avoid fires. To
prevent damage to the power cord and any consequent incidents, the power cord should
not be covered by the appliance or other objects.
Do not place items such as bottled or sealed containers of fluid such as beverages in the
appliance to prevent bursts and other losses. Before placing any food in your appliance,
turn it on and wait for 24 hours, to make sure it is working properly and to allow it time
to fall to the correct temperature. The appliance should not be overfilled.
Before Plugging in the Appliance
You must check that you have a socket which is compatible with the plug supplied with
the appliance.
Before Turning on the Appliance
Do not turn on until two hours after moving the appliance.
Noise Inside the Appliance
You may notice that your appliance makes some unusual noises. Most of these are
perfectly normal, but you should be aware of them.
These noises are caused by the circulation of the refrigerant liquid in the cooling system.
It has become more pronounced since the introduction of CFC free gases. This is not a
fault and will not affect the performance of your appliance. This is the compressor motor
working, as it pumps the refrigerant around the system.

11
Operation Instructions
Thermostat Control
Setting to “OFF”: switch off the compressor only (not to switch off the unit)
Setting between “OFF” and “MAX”: normal operation (adequate for most situations)
Setting to “MAX”: coolest temperature
•For first time installation of your appliance, set the thermostat between “OFF” and
“MAX”.
•During high ambient temperatures, e.g. on hot summer days, it may be necessary
to set the thermostat to the coolest setting (position “MAX”). This may cause the
compressor to run continuously in order to maintain a low temperature in the cabinet.
•Give your appliance time to cool completely before placing food. It is best to wait 24
hours for the appliance to cool before placing food.
•To switch off the appliance, unplug from the mains socket.
•It is not recommended to set the thermostat beyond “MAX”.

12
Hints and Tips
•Hot food should be cooled to room temperature before placing it in the appliance.
•To minimise the amount of time the door is open and to save energy, label containers
and store similar foods together.
•Do not place food too close to the airflow outlet or inlet and leave space between
containers to allow cold air to circulate. Ensure all parts of the unit are kept cool.
•Cooked meats/fishes should always be stored on a compartment above raw meats/
fishes to avoid bacterial transfer. Keep raw meats/fishes in a container which is large
enough to collect juices and cover it properly. Place the container on the lowest
compartment.
•To prevent transfer of flavours and drying out, pack or cover the food separately. Fruit
and vegetables do not need to be wrapped.
•Always let pre-cooked food cool down before you put in the unit. This will help to
maintain the internal temperature of the unit.
•To prevent cold air escaping from the unit, try to limit the number of times you open
the door. We recommend that you only open the door when you need to put food in
or take food out.
•The refrigerator will emit heat when operating, especially in Summer. The sides and
back can become quite hot due to heat radiating from the condenser which is quite
normal.
•Condensation will be detected on the exterior surface and door seals of the
appliance when the ambient humidity is large, this is a normal phenomenon, and the
condensation can be wiped away with a dry towel.
•Buzz sound will be generated when running compressor especially during starting up
or shutting down.

13
