Appendix B Installation of B68 Cabinet
Note:
Except for the height, B68-18 (1.8m in height) cabinet and B68-22 (2.2m in height)
cabinet have the same installation requirements in space planning, cabinet positioning,
and fixing.
Therefore, the B68 cabinet installation flow will be described only taking the B68-22
cabinet as an example.
B.1 Installation Overview
B.1.1 Precautions
1) The site should be correctly marked off prior to the installation. .
2) The cabinet must be handled with care to prevent damage to any components.
3) After the installation, make the all-around check on the cabinet so as to find the
defects and make the timely handling. Clean the stains resulting from the
installation.
B.1.2 Introduction to the Installation
According to different floors in the equipment room, the B68-22 cabinet can be installed
on the cement ground or on the raised floor. The brief installation procedure includes:
1) Cabinet foot installation (If the installation is on the raised floor, the support and
slide rail should be installed)
2) Cabinet Installation
3) Quakeproof reinforcement
B.2 Cabinet Installation on the Cement Ground
The B68-22 cabinet is installed on the cement ground with the anchor plates pressing
against the cabinet feet, and the anchor plate kit is used for the B68-22 cabinet. The
cabinet feet are height-adjustable.

Caution:
The feet are insulated. The anchor plate components include insulating units. During
construction, make sure that the insulating units are correctly installed so that the whole
set of equipment is insulated from the ground before the ground wire is connected, thus
effectively meeting the insulation requirement.
B.2.1 Introduction to Anchor Plate
The anchor plate of the B68-22 cabinet is shown in Figure B-1, and the installations of
the anchor plate and cabinet feet are shown in Figure B-2.

B.2.3 Cabinet Positioning
I. Planning the installation position of cabinet
Before the installation, first plan the available space. There should be sufficient space
for maintenance and operation at the front and rear doors of the cabinet, as shown in
Figure B-4 and Figure B-5. At least 800mm clearance is required around the B68-22
cabinet.
II. Drawing lines
According to the reference dimension and cabinet foot location dimension in the
construction plane design diagram, determine the location of the cabinet installation
hole, measure several marking-out points, mark out two lines which are parallel with the
reference and whose spacing is 720mm. According to the design requirements,
determine the installation hole location and cabinet foot location used for the first
cabinet on the two lines. Then take the hole as the reference point, and mark out the
installation holes and cabinet foot location marks used for other cabinets one by one. To
avoid faults, after being marked out, all hole location lines should be measured again so
as to ensure the proper dimension. Figure B-4 shows the installation holes and cabinet
foot location marks of a single cabinet, and Figure B-5 shows the installation holes and
cabinet foot location marks of two cabinets.

III. Drilling holes
Use a percussion drill with 16 bit to drill holes for the installation of the expansion bolts
to fix the anchor plate.
When using the percussion drill, be sure to hold the bit perpendicular to the ground.
Hold the drill handle firmly with both hands to control the direction. Do not shake the drill
to avoid tilted holes or prevent damage to the floor.
The depth of the hole should be within the range of 52mm~60mm, and the depth of all
holes should be the same. Clean the hole before measuring the net-depth. When a
hole is drilled, use a vacuum cleaner to clean the dust.
If it is difficult to position the drill bit when the ground is too hard or slippery, chisel a pit
at the hole-mark to help position the bit.
Marking and drilling are the fundamental work for hardware installation. Any poor
precision may cause great inconvenience for the follow-up jobs.
Caution:
Keep the depth of the hole between 52mm and 60mm. Otherwise, the expansion bolt
cannot be installed and fastened properly.
IV. Installing expansion bolts
Prior to installation, clean the dust inside and outside the hole with vacuum cleaner and
then measure the spacing between holes. Relocate and drill before installing expansion
bolt in case of poor accuracy.
Take down the expansion tube and expansion nut, put them into the hole vertically (the
guide rib on the expansion nut has to be inserted into the guide trough of the expansion
tube in advance), and then punch the expansion tube with rubber mallet until the
expansion tube is completely driven into the ground. Figure B-6 shows the installation
of expansion tube and expansion nut.

Caution:
The guide rib of expansion nut must be inserted in advance into the guide trough of the
expansion tube, or the expansion bolt cannot be installed and fastened properly.
B.2.4 Cabinet Leveling
I. Locating the cabinet
Move the cabinet to the planned location with its feet aligned with the corresponding
foot location marks.
II. Leveling the cabinet
Place a horizontal ruler in two orthogonal directions on top of the cabinet to check the
cabinet levelness. If the cabinet is not leveled, loosen the retaining nuts on the cabinet
feet with a wrench and turn the cabinet foot finely to adjust the cabinet height to make it
leveled. Meanwhile, align all of the cabinets, and then lock the retaining nuts on the
cabinet feet until they are pressed tightly against the bottom plane of the cabinet.

B.2.5 Cabinet Combination Connection
Note:
If two or more cabinets are used, it is required to combine them. Skip this section if not
necessary.
When combining cabinets, first remove the top covers of the cabinets as shown in
Figure B-8, and then rotate the combining plates on top of the cabinets by 180o. After
fastening, use flat washer, spring washer, bolt and nut to connect the combining plates
of two neighbor cabinets, as shown in Figure B-9. Figure B-8 shows the position of the
combining plate before it is rotated, and Figure B-9 shows its position after it has been
rotated.

Caution:
It is required to remove the top covers before combining cabinets. After combination,
top covers are to be installed again.
B.2.6 Cabinet Fastening
I. Installing anchor plate
Install the anchor plate of the B68-22 cabinet according to Figure B-10. Press the
anchor plate against the cabinet feet. Two anchor plates are required for one cabinet.
Caution:
The anchor plate must be installed in the direction as shown in Figure B-10.

II. Installing insulating parts and fixing anchor plate
First put the insulating washer under the anchor plate and align it with the expansion
bolt hole (one anchor plate needs 2 insulating washers). Then screw the M12 ×70 bolt
into the expansion bolt hole through the anchor plate. Install the accessories (such as
insulating covering and big flat washer) according to Part A in Figure B-11, and then
fasten the bolt force moment to 45 Nm.

III. Fastening retaining nut of anchor plate
Fasten the retaining nut of the anchor plate according to part B in Figure B-11.
B.2.7 Insulation Test
Measure the resistance value between the fixing bolt M12 ×70 and the anchor plate
with a Multimeter. If the resistance value measured is larger than five meg-ohm, it
means the insulation is normal. Otherwise, it means that the cabinet is not insulated

from the earth. In this case, remove all anchor plate parts to check whether the
insulating covering or insulating washer is installed or whether the insulating parts are
damaged. Afterwards, reinstall the anchor plate and repeat the insulation test. Figure
B-12 shows the installation of a single cabinet on the cement ground, and Figure B-13
shows the installation of two cabinets on the cement ground.

B.3 Cabinet Installation on Raised Floor
When the B68-22 cabinet is installed in the equipment room with the raised floor, the
H800 series supports are adopted.
Caution:
The feet are insulated. The anchor plate components include insulating units. During
construction, make sure that the insulating units are correctly installed so that the whole
set of equipment is insulated from the ground before the ground wire is connected, thus
effectively meeting the insulation requirement.

B.3.1 Introduction to Support and Slide Rail
I. Brief Introduction to Support
The support is to raise the cabinet for the convenience of floor paving and cable wiring
in the equipment room. The support is welded with steel sheet.
1) Number of the supports used
In the combined cabinets’ installation, N cabinets in one row will be supported with the
N+1 supports, as shown in Figure B-14.

3) Installing support components
There are four models of H800 series supports, three of which are height-adjustable
and the other one is of fixed-height. The adjustable ranges of the models are shown in
Table B-1.

Note:
The height of the raised floor refers to the distance between the upper plane of the
raised floor and the cement ground.
The models I, II and III of the H800 series can be freely regulated in their setting ranges
by moving oppositely the upper and lower supports.

The model IV of the H800 series is a fixed height support, which is suitable for the ultra
high and ultra low supports. The suitable lowest floor height of the component is
100mm.
II. Brief Introduction to slide rail
The equipment can move along the slide rail for the convenience of location adjustment.
The slide rail integrates several supports and cabinets together so as to keep the
cabinet level and enhance the connection. The dimensions of the slide rail are shown in
Figure B-16. Each is 600mm long, and two are used for each cabinet.

B.3.3 Support Positioning
