3.2.3 Reading the LCD routing configuration
Easy to understand routing information is displayed on the LCD. The inputs are
variable, but the outputs are static and never change.
In the above example, the routing configuration can be understood from the output
end as follows:
Output 1 is tied to Input 1
Output 2 is tied to input 1 and so on ...
The same configuration can be analyzed from the input end as follows:
Input 1 is tied to both Output 1 and 2
Input 2 is tied to both Output 3 and 4 and so on...
3.2.4 Turning the unit on and off
Press the power button any time to turn ON the matrix. To turn the unit OFF, hold
the power button for 3 seconds.
3.2.5 Making AV Routing or "Ties" from the Front Panel
Routing is possible from both the input and output end. It is easier to route from
the output.

3.2.6 Making a tie starting from the output
To tie an output to an input, perform the following steps.
1. Select an output. This shows the currently tied input (if any) in solid LED.
Note that you can use navigation keys to view the next output routing
configuration. Use up and down arrows to move back and forth across the
outputs.
2. Select an input you want to tie to. This will make the selected input button
blink until the SET button is pressed. Note that you can cancel the selection
by clicking the same button or selecting another input.
3. The tie between the input and the output is established only when the SET
button is pressed.
Example: Route output 1 to input 2
3.2.7 Making a tie starting from input
Routing from the input end allows to tie multiple outputs to an input in a single step
multi selection process. Note that any input can be routed to more than one output
or none at all.
1. Press one of the input channel buttons. That button will light up in solid
along with ALL the outputs routed from that input. Use navigation keys to
view the routing configuration across each input.
2. Select the outputs you wish to tie. Selected outputs can be multiple with
all the new selections blinking until the SET button is pressed. To remove
an Output from the selection press the blinking output again.
3. Press SET to apply the changes.

blinking. Selecting a new output will exit the "Blanking Mode". Note that
multiple outputs cannot be blanked at the same time.
2. Press SET to apply the changes. The blanked Output will be crossed on the
LCD, indicating that it is blanked.
Example: Blanking output 1
3.2.9 Blanking from Input end
1. To blank an Input, hold the input for 3 seconds. Note that if the input is
tied to all the multiple outputs, all tied outputs will be blanked.
2. Press SET to apply the changes. All the affected output ports and blanked
input will be crossed on the LCD display.
Example: Blanking output 1

3. As explained in the previous example, blanking an Input will blank all the
Outputs tied to it. To remove a certain number of outputs tied to an Input,
select the input which shows the routing configuration of the input.
4. Hold the outputs you want to remove for 3 sec or until the led starts
blinking. Note that multiple outputs can be selected at the same time.
5. Press SET to apply the changes. All selected outputs will be blanked shown
as crossed on LCD.
Example: Blanking output 1 and 2 from the previous example
3.3 Presets (Routing Patterns)
The number of presets accessible from the front panel is the same as the total # of
input buttons. Each front panel input button can memorize a pattern. Therefore,
you can recall 8 presets.
Presets are extremely useful when managing multiple routing patterns. HSM-88-4K
can save 4 presets and allows the user to save, recall, and edit the presets from the
front panel on the fly.
3.3.1 Saving ongoing configuration as preset
1. To save ongoing configuration as a preset, hold PRE button for 3 seconds
until it blinks.
2. Select preset number by selecting the input.
3. Press SET to save the ongoing configuration as a preset.

13
4.1 EDID Configuration
This option allows the user to upload a custom defined EDID to a selected input
source. HSM-88-4K has 16 custom EDIDs saved in the internal memory and has the
ability to copy the EDID from any of the eight output ports to any input.
Press MENU and navigate to "Compute EDID" and press SET.
Browse through the 16 different EDIDs saved in the unit and eight EDIDs of
the current outputs.
Press SET to select the EDID.
Select an input to copy the EDID.
Press SET to load the EDID to selected input.
4.2 Compute EDID
The compute EDID functionality is very useful while displays of different native
resolution is connected to a single input source. Enabling "Compute EDID" results
in copying the lowest resolution EDID among the outputs to the input so that there is
a video on all the displays.
To compute EDID, press MENU and navigate to "Compute EDID" and press SET.
Use this option when you have different kinds of displays connected to the matrix.
5.0 Software GUI (HSM-88-4K Matrix Controller)

need to allow this application in your firewall to communicate over network. The
GUI updates in real time to the changes made to the unit from the front panel,
RS232 and telnet. The following are some of the major feature available in
Windows GUI.
Control the matrix using Serial RS232 or the network. The status of the
input and output HDMI can be seen under Device Information in the
setup tab.
Matrix tab shows the current routing configuration and updates in real
time. The user can also enable/disable Audio Return Channel (ARC) for
each output.
Presets tab includes preset save, preset edit and preset recall.
EDID tab lets you load a custom EDID to any source connected to the
matrix’s input ports. You can also copy the EDID from any display
connected to the output to an input. All the EDID management can be
done from the EDID tab.
