JBL PD6000 SERIES README FILE
INTRODUCTION
JBL PD6000 Series presets are designed to provide optimum system performance for the PD6000 Series
loudspeakers when used with Crown -Tech HD, -Tech 4x3500HD and DriveCore nstall Network Series
(DCiN) amplifiers.
Disclaimer: PD6000 limiter settin s are intended to provide a startin point for optimum system
performance while ensurin reliable system protection. The end user is, however, ultimately
responsible for system operation in the field and standard warranty conditions apply in the event of
component dama e.
PROGRAMMING GUIDELINES
Before downloading the PD6000 device and speaker tuning files, please check for the latest version of
HiQnet Audio Architect Software on http://hiqnet.harmanpro.com/downloads.php
After downloading and installing Audio Architect software, JBL PD6000 device files are located in the
following directory:
\\My Documents\Harman Pro\JBLDeviceFilesAndPreset–AA1.XX\ nstalledSound\PD6000 Series
INSTALLING DSP INTO I-Tech HD and I-Tech 4x3500HD DEVICES
To load presets into your -Tech HD amplifier, it is possible to copy the device file onto a USB key and
manually load the entire device file or individual presets from the front panel of the unit. Please see
your Crown -Tech HD manual for complete details.
Presets can also be downloaded using Audio Architect or by establishing network connectivity then
performing the following steps:
Audio Architect:
1) Wait for Audio Architect to discover the devices (as indicated in Venue Explorer to the left of the
venue):
a. f auto-populate is enabled, wait for the venue to populate with the discovered devices
b. f auto-populate is not enabled, drag and drop the discovered devices into the venue
from the Venue Explorer
2) Double-click the -Tech HD power amplifier to be programmed
3) On the amplifier menu bar, select: File / Open / Device File
4) Navigate to the ‘PD6000 Series’ device file folder
5) Select the device file suitable for your application:
6) ‘Name Change’ panel opens: f you wish to update the amplifier name, select ‘Replace’
7) Go online by selecting ‘Go Online’ on the top ribbon under ‘Offline Design’. (Note: if you are
already online, the device file will load automatically)
8) Select ‘S’ (send) for the relevant amplifier to send DSP setting to the device.

PRESET RECALL INSTRUCTIONS
1) Double-click the desired -Tech HD amplifier
2) Select ‘Recall’ on the top of the amplifier panel
3) Select the desired preset for your application and press ‘OK’
4) The desired preset will load within a few seconds
Manually via the front panel for I-Tech HD
1) Press the ‘Menu/Exit’
2) Press ‘Next’ two times to navigate to the ‘Preset’ menu
3) Use the rotary knob next to the display panel to scroll through the presets until the desired
preset is highlighted.
4) Press the rotary knob to select. A prompt ‘Confirm Load (Press & Hold)’ will appear. (Note: this
will change to ‘change cancelled’ after approximately 3 seconds)
5) Press and hold the rotary knob for 1-2 seconds, until ‘Loading Preset…’ is displayed
6) ‘Preset Loaded’ message appears for several seconds, after which the current preset name will
be displayed
7) Press ‘Menu / Exit’ to navigate back to the main menu
Manually via the front panel for I-Tech 4x3500HD
1) Press ‘Menu/Exit’
2) Highlight ‘1. Presets’ by either using the rotary knob to the left of the screen or the arrows on
the screen.
3) To select, either press the rotary knob to touch ‘1. Presets’ on the screen
4) Touch ‘Recall’ on the screen
5) Scroll through the presets until the desired preset is highlighted in the middle of the screen by
either turning the rotary knob, pressing ‘Prev’ and ‘Next’ buttons to the right of the screen or
touching and dragging the presets on the screen
6) To select, either press the rotary knob or touch the desired preset on the screen
7) A prompt will display: ‘Do you want to recall Preset <Number>:<Preset Name>?’. To select,
press either the rotary knob, the ‘Menu / Exit’ button or the green checkbox symbol to the
bottom left of the screen
8) Once the preset is loaded, the active preset name will display
9) Press ‘Menu / Exit’ twice to navigate back to the main display

INSTALLING DSP INTO DCiN DEVICES
DCiN amplifiers utilize ‘Speaker Tuning’ Libraries. This allows for superior flexibility in programming the
DCiN amplifier with regard to channel assignments. Each preset represents a single DSP channel and can
be loaded onto any DCiN amplifier channel.
t is recommended that DCiN series amplifiers are set to 28dB amplifier gain. This can be set via the
following steps:
1) Wait for Audio Architect to discover the devices (as indicated in Venue Explorer to the left of the
venue):
a. f auto-populate is enabled, wait for the venue to populate with the discovered devices
b. f auto-populate is not enabled, drag and drop the discovered devices into the venue
from the Venue Explorer
2) Double-click the DCiN power amplifier to be programmed
3) Double-click CH1 nput block
4) Double-click ‘ nput Configuration’
5) Under ‘Analog nputs’ and ‘Gain Mode’ select 28dB
To load DSP data into DCiN amplifier channels:
6) With the main amplifier panel open, on the top menu bar select: File / Open / Speaker Tuning
7) Select the Speaker Tuning library suitable for your application
8) On the main amplifier panel, double-click the ‘SPKR’ panel
9) Select ‘Recall’
10) Under ‘Preset’ highlight and select the desired preset for the selected amplifier channel and
select ‘OK’. The selected DSP is now loaded onto that amplifier channel. Repeat this for all
amplifier channels as needed.
11) f not already online, go online by selecting ‘Go Online’ on the top ribbon under ‘Offline Design’.
12) Select ‘S’ (send) to send DSP setting to the device. (Note: presets can be loaded in both ‘Online’
and ‘Offline’ mode)
PRESET STORE AND RECALL INSTRUCTIONS
Once each channel has been programmed with the correct ‘Speaker Tuning Preset’, all the channels can
be stored as an overall amplifier preset. These presets can be saved as a ‘Device File’ which contain up
to 20 discrete presets.
1) To store an amplifier preset, select ‘Store’ to the right of the preset name from the main
amplifier page.
2) Type in the preset name and select ‘Store’ to store the preset.
3) To Recall a previously stored amplifier preset: Double-click the desired DCiN amplifier
4) Select ‘Recall’ on the top of the amplifier panel
5) Select the desired preset for your application and press ‘OK’
6) The desired preset will load within a few seconds

for your configuration.
