• TheArcoRailisnottobeusedasarestraint,ortopreventpeople
fromfallingoutofbed.TherearecorrectlydesignedBedRailsfor
thesepurposes.
• ENTRAPMENT:Entrapmentdescribesasituationwhereaperson’s
neck,head,chestortorsocangettrappedinthespacebetween
themattressandhorizontalbarorbetweentheverticalbarand
thesideofthemattress.Themattressmustbetightagainstthe
verticalbarandshouldbecheckeddaily.Asaferwaytoprevent
gapsbetweenthemattressandtheverticalbaristoinstall
twoArcoRails,oneoneithersideofthemattress.Extrasafety
measuresandprecautionsshouldbeusedwithhigh-riskpeople.
• TheArcoRailisnotintendedtosupportthefullweightoftheuser
andissuitableforpeopleweighingupto300lbs(135kgs)

USING THE ARCORAIL
TheArcoRailhorizontalbarcanrotate360°,lockingsafelyandrmlyin
four90°positions.
1. Changing the direction of the horizontal bar.
2. Entering and Exiting the bed.
Toenterorexitthebedholdontoboththeverticalbarandthe
horizontalbar.Itwillbeeasierifyousitonthebedbesidethe
ArcoRailawayfromtheheadofthebed.
3. Using the ArcoRail to sit up or reposition on the bed.
TheArcoRailcanbeusedtositup,move,repositionorlaydown
onthebed.SwiveltheArcoRailtothemostcomfortableposition
foryouandgrabittoassistyouwhenyouaremoving.
4. Maintenance:
• Regularmaintenanceandcleaningwillimprovethesafety
anddurabilityofyourArcoRail.
•Periodicallymakesurethatalltheboltsaretight.
• Alwaysmakesurethatthemattressistightagainstthe
verticalpost.

Please read the following instructions before you start to assemble the Arcorail bedside handrail.
This document contains important safety information.
Regular Home Style beds have
ANGLE IRON FRAMES that are
horizontal and at at the bottom.

Pre-Assemble These Parts
Mark the bed frame 36” from the head of the bed
INSTALLATION TIP:
Make sure that the snap buttons in
part H are in the respective holes.
INSTALLATION TIP:
Put the Post in place now Note: Two connector tubes (H) replace AR18

Put the ANCHOR ASSEMBLY
under the bed frame 36” from
the head of the bed.
Hook anchor handle into
bed frame rail as shown
Take opposite end and hook it onto the bed frame.
Proceed to tightening bolts in step 4.

Ensure all parts are attached firmly (to simulate one solid part) and install in numeric
order as shown.

Safety-Check:
Set height of Arcorail for safety (do not allow a gap greater than 3 inches (75mm) – see
below for important details) and check to ensure all bolts and parts are firmly fastened
before placing mattresses onto the bed frame and periodically tighten as required.
