Replacing the Battery
Battery replacement at recommended at 5 years. You can order a new battery for your AED7000 on
our website by clicking here (or go to: https://www.heartsaver.co.nz/products/heart-saver-aed7000-
replacement-battery). Please follow the below instructions to replace the battery. You can also watch
a short video here.
PLEASE NOTE: Use only M&B Part No. CR123A-4x2 non-rechargeable lithium batteries. Use of any
other battery can damage the AED7000.
When you have installed the new battery, the AED unit will take a minute or two to boot back up.
When it has completed its self-test, please check the LED screen on the front of the unit - you
should be able to see “OK” and two black-shaded boxes (covering the spanner and battery icons).
To replace the battery follow the steps below:
1. Write the date of installation on the “New
Battery Installed” sticker.
2. Open the battery compartment (located near
the bottom of the backside of the AED7000)
by removing the thumbscrews. Slip the plate
up before pulling plate off.
3. Unplug the existing battery by gently pulling
out the white battery connector.
4. Turn the unit over and press the ON/OFF
button. Wait until LED screen goes blank (you
will still be able to see the battery/spanner
icons). Leave unit like this for 60 seconds.
5. Connect the new battery by pushing the 3-pin
battery connector onto the contact pins.
6. Place the battery into the battery
compartment .
7. Replace the battery cover by sliding the cover
back so that the screw holes are aligned.
8. Replace the thumbscrews.
