The purpose of this manual is primarily to acquaint the operator
with the principles of handling the product, with its assembly/installation,
with safety rules during use, maintenance, storage and transport. The manual,
which is an integral part of the product, must be kept in a safe place
so that the necessary information can be found in the future. When passing
the product to another person, it is necessary to pass on the manual as well.
If in doubt, contact the importer or the shop where the product was purchased.

des Produkts an eine andere Person muss auch diese Gebrauchsanleitung

If you notice any damage during transport or unpacking, notify your supplier immediately. DO
NOT PUT INTO OPERATION.
SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE
This product is exclusively intended for the use:
- to work with soil (digging holes for small trees, fence ground stakes and the like)
- according to the corresponding descriptions and safety instructions in these operating
instructions.
Any other use is not as intended.
If the product is used for any purpose other than the intended purpose or if unauthorized
modification is made, the statutory warranty and statutory responsibility for defects as
well as any liability on the part of the manufacturer will be void.
Do not overload! Use the product only for the powers it was designed for. The product
designed for a given purpose performs it better and safer than one that has a similar function.
Therefore, always use the correct one for a given purpose.
Please keep in mind that our products are not designed for commercial, trade or industrial use
according to their intended purpose. We accept no liability if the product is used in these or
comparable conditions.
Where it is required, follow the legal guidelines and regulations to prevent possible
accidents during operation.

is lent to another person, it is necessary to lent this instruction manual with it.
TRAINING
CAll operating personnel must be adequately trained in the use, operation and
setting and especially familiar with prohibited activities.
• Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of
the equipment. Spend a few moments to familiarize yourself with your machine before each
use.
• Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local
regulations can restrict the age of the operator.
• This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety.
• Never work while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
• Keep in mind that the operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to
other people or their property.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORKING WITH EARTH AUGER
• Operate the earth auger under good visibility and daylight conditions only.
• Never operate the machine with defective guards, or without properly installed safety
devices in place.
• Start the engine carefully according to instructions and with feet well away from the auger.
• Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts.
• Do not tilt the machine when the engine is running.
• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
• Wear close-fitting work clothes, work boots with non-slip soles, gloves, goggles, ear
protection and safety helmet.
• The earth auger should be operated by one person.
• Always hold the earth auger firmly with both hands. Wrap your fingers tightly around
the handles, keeping the handles cradled between your thumb and fingers.
• Make sure your earth auger handles and grip are in good condition and free of moisture,
pitch, oil or grease.
• Do not try to force the auger into the ground with your body weight.
• Work carefully. Reactive power of machine you can drag and cause serious damage or
injury, when you drill using a rotary motion.
• Striking something hard in the earth, such as a rock or gravel, may cause the drilling tool to
slow down suddenly or stop. In such a situation, some or all of the rotational force (reactive

force) is transferred to the the the power unit and handle frame of the earth auger which can
cause the auger powerhead and handles to rotate suddenly in a counterclockwise direction.
• If the auger jam, release switch button and stop the engine immediately.
• To reduce the risk of injury from reactive forces, the operator must have a firm grip on
the machine and a good foothold.
• If you feel or hear the drilling tool strike a solid object, release the switch button switch and
stop engine immediately and remove the object before drilling is continued.
• When drilling in heavy clay soil, bore max.1/3 way and remove the auger from the hole.
Clean off auger then continue in slow steps frequently clearing drill.
• Contact with electrical cables or wires can cause serious injury or death as a result of electrical
shock. To reduce the risk of electrocution and damage to property, always be alert for
underground pipes and cables and for overhead wires. Before drilling, obtain the necessary
plans and permits. Contact your local utility company or your locator service, for information
as to cable and pipe locations. Where necessary, confirm actual location by use of devices
such as cable detectors and/or by carefully dug trenches.
• Replace the bit immediately if any cracks or other damage are present.
• Never attempt to carry out servicing or repairs that are not part of the routine maintenance.
Call specialised and authorised workshops only. When replacing parts or components, use
only original spare parts.
• This machine is not designed for working with ice, excessively rocky ground and especially
in an area which with underground electric, gas, water, or telephone lines.
• This machine is not designed for use in any position other than the auger bit is in upright.
• Take into account the effect of the machine vibrations. While working take frequent rest breaks.
• After selecting the place for drilling clean the ground from bushes and other material that
could be captured by drilling and rotating drill.
• The machine can be assembled by such drilling tools or accessories only that Hecht company
authorized for this machine. Use the original accesories Hecht only.
• Switch off before changing accessories.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
• Wear approved eye protection! The operation of machine can result in foreign objects being
• thrown into your eyes which may result in severe eye damage. Normal glasses are not sufficient
• for eye protection. For example, corrective glasses or sunglasses do not provide adequate
protection because they have not special safety glass and aren’t enough closed from the sides.
• Wear adequate noise protection equipment! The impact of noise can cause hearing damage
or hearing loss. Take frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of exposure per day.
• Always wear sturdy shoes with nonslip soles. Risk of damaging the legs or risk of slipping on
wet or slippery ground. This protects against injuries and ensures a good footing.
• While working, always wear long trousers. Do not operate the machine when barefoot or
wearing open shoes.
• Wear gloves when working with earth auger. Risk of cuts.
• Safety equipment such as a dust mask or hard hat used for appropriate conditions will
reduce personal injuries, especially when the machining operation creates dust or there is
a risk of hitting your head on protruding or low level obstructions.

• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.

• Check the landscape where the machine will be used and remove all objects such as stones,
toys, sticks and wires, which could be caught and thrown away. Damage of the machine or
operator’s injury could be caused.
• Do not operate this machine in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases, or dust. Machine create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating the machine. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.
PERSONAL SAFETY
• This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine.
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating this machine.
• Do not use this machine while you are tired, ill or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or
medication, or during pregnancy. A moment of inattention while operating this machine
can cause you to lose control and may result in serious personal injury.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control
of the tool in unexpected situations.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the machine on. A wrench or a key that
is left attached to a rotating part of the machine may result in personal injury.
• Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as a dust mask,
non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will
reduce personal injuries.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
• Prolonged use of the machine may lead to disorders of blood circulation in hands caused by
vibration. These effects can be worsened by low ambient temperatures and/or by gripping
the handgrips excessively tightly. Period of use you can extend with appropriate gloves or
regular breaks. Take frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of exposure per day.
PETROL TOOL USE AND CARE
WARNING!B
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive.
• Store fuel in containers specifically designed for this purpose.
• Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while refueling.
• Add fuel before starting the engine. Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or add petrol
while the engine is running or when the engine is hot.
• If petrol is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine but move the machine away from the area
of spillage and avoid creating any source of ignition until petrol vapors have dissipated.
• Replace all fuel tank and container caps securely.
• Do not operate the engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon monoxide can collect.
• Do not force the petrol tool. Use the correct petrol tool for your application. The correct
petrol tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the petrol tool if the main switch does not work. Any petrol tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

• Turn tool off completely before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing
petrol tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the petrol tool
accidentally.
• Store idle petrol tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with
the petrol tool or these instructions to operate the petrol tool. Petrol tools are dangerous in
the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain petrol tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may affect the petrol tool’s operation. If damaged, have the petrol
tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained petrol tools.
• Use the petrol tool, accessories and tool bits etc., In accordance with these instructions and
in the manner intended for the particular type of petrol tool, taking into account the working
conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the petrol tool for operations different
from intended could result in a hazardous situation.
SERVICE
• Have your petrol tool serviced by a qualified repair personnel using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the petrol tool is maintained.
PERSON PROTECTION
CAUTION!A
Be prepared! Have about one following things at least:
• Suitable fire extinguisher (Dry Powder).
• Fully equipped first-aid kit, available easily for machine operator and accompanying person.
It should contain enough pieces of bandage for lacerated/cutting wounds.
• Mobile phone or another device for quick calling of rescue service.
CAUTION!A
Don´t work alone. There must be around another person who knows principles of
the first aid.
The accompanying person must keep safe separation distance from your workplace,
but he/she must be able to see you the whole time! Work only on such places where
you are able to call the rescue service quickly!
• In case of any injury always proceed in accordance with the principles of first aid.
• If someone is cut, cover the wound with a clean cloth and press hard to stop the flow of blood.
• Carbon Monoxide poisoning may lead to death! Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning
resemble flu-like symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and/or nausea. If you have these
symptoms, get fresh air at once! If it´s necessary seek medical help.
• Do not let petrol or oil come in contact with your skin. Keep petrol and oil away from
the eyes. If petrol or oil comes in contact with the eyes, wash them immediately with clean
water. If irritation is still present, see a doctor immediately.
• Individuals with poor circulation who are exposed to excessive vibration may experience injury
to blood vessels or the nervous system. Vibration may cause the following symptoms to occur

in the fingers, hands or wrists: “Falling asleep” (numbness), tingling, pain, stabbing sensation,
alteration of skin colour or of the skin. If any of these symptoms occur, see a physician!
PUT SAFETY FIRST IN THE CASE OF FIRE:
• If fire comes from the engine or smoke appears from any area other than the exhaust vent,
turn off the machine and distance yourself from the product to ensure your physical safety.
• Use foam fire extinguisher on the fire to prevent it from spreading.
• DO NOT PANIC. Panic can cause even more damage.
• Spilled petrol and its vapours can become ignited from cigarette sparks, electrical arcing,
exhaust gases and hot engine components such as the muffler.
• Heat will expand fuel in the tank which could result in a fire.
• Operating the tool in an explosive environment could result in a fire.
• Muffler exhaust heat can damage painted surfaces, melt any materials sensitive to heat (such as
siding plastic, rubber or vinyl) and damage live plants. Keep hot tool away from other objects.
• Improperly stored fuel could lead to accidental ignition. Fuel improperly secured could get
into the hands of children or other unqualified persons.
ADDING FUEL:
• Shut off engine and allow it to cool before adding fuel to the tank.
• Use care when filling the tank to avoid spilling fuel. Move tool away from fuelling area
before starting engine.
• Keep maximum fuel level 20mm below top of tank to allow for expansion.
• Operate and refuel in well ventilated areas free from obstructions.
• Store fuel in a approved container for petrol. Store in a secure location away from the work
area. Make sure the container is clearly marked “fuel”.

• Operate tool in a well ventilated area. Avoid enclosed areas.
• Never operate unit in a location occupied by other people or animals.

RESIDUAL RISKS
• Even if the device is used according to instructions, it´s impossible to eliminate all the risks
associated with its operation. The following risks may occur arising from device construction:
• Mechanical hazard, caused by cut and throw off.
• Electrical hazard caused by touch with parts under high voltage (direct contact) or with
parts, which came under a high voltage due to failure of the device (indirect contact).

• Heat hazard resulting in burning or scalding and other injuries caused by possible contact
with high temperature objects or materials including heat sources.
• Noise risk resulting in loss of hearing (deafness) and other physiological disorders (e.g. loss
of balance, loss of consciousness).
• Vibration risk (resulting in vascular and neurological harm in the hand-arm system, for
example so called “white finger disease”).
• Dangers caused by contact with harmful liquids, gas, mist, smoke and dust or by their
inhalation, relate to emissions (for example breathing in).
• Danger of fire or explosion relate to spilling of fuel.
• Dangers caused by failing in ergonomic principles by construction of the machine, for
example dangers caused by unhealthy position of body or excessive overcharge and unnature
to the anatomy of the human hand-arm, relate to construction of handle, equilibrium of
the machine and using of toothrest.
• Dangers caused by unexpected starting, unexpected exceeding of engine revs caused by
defect/failure of control system, relate to the defects by the handle and placing of drivers.
• Dangers caused by impossibility to stop the machine in best conditions, relate to solidity of
the handle and placing of engine shut down device.
• Dangers caused by defect of machine control system, relate to solidity of the handle, placing
of drivers and marking.
• Dangers caused by tearing (of the chain) during running.
• Dangers caused by shooting up of subjects or splashing of liquids.
UNPACKING
• Carefully remove the product from the box.
• Carefully inspect all parts. If any part is damaged or missing, contact your dealer or
authorized service center.
• Do not throw away packaging materials until you have not reviewed carefully if they did not
remain a part of the product.
• Parts of the packaging (plastic bags, paper clips, etc.) do not leave within reach of children,
could be a possible source of danger. Do not let children play with plastic bags, foils or small
parts. There is a danger of swallowing or suffocating!
• Disposal must be made in accordance with the regulations in force in the country in which
the equipment was installed.
• Make sure that bags and containers of plastic material are left strewn freely in the environment
because they pollute it.
• If you have any doubt do not use the machine, but have it checked by an authorized service center.

This product requires assembly. The device must be assembled correctly before use.
If you notice transport damage or while unpacking, notify your supplier immediately. Do not
operate the machine! We recommend save the package for future use. The packaging materials
must still be recycled or disposed of in compliance with the relevant legislation. Sort different
parts of the packaging according to material and hand it to the appropriate collection sites. For
further information contact your local administration.

ASSEMBLY

Use the device only if it is completely assembled.
The auger bit must be assembled before using the machine. Follow the operating instructions
step-by-step and use the pictures provided as a visual guide to easily assemble the machine.
1. Put the auger into the output shaft of the auger bit (fig. 2).
2. Insert locking pin (or bolt - according to the version).
3. Lock it with the split pin (or nut - according to the version) (fig. 3).
WIND SCOOPER
For comfortable working in a hot environment can be connected the wind scooper - a grid that
draws heated air from the engine away from the operator. Put wind spoiler as shown (fig. 4, 5).
FILLING UP WITH FUEL AND OIL

Petrol is very flammable. Avoid smoking or causing any sparks or flames near fuel.
Make sure that you stop the motor and allow it to cool before refuelling the machine.
Select outdoor bare ground for fuelling and move at least 3 m away from the fuelling
point before starting the motor.
• Only use oil that is expressly labelled for use with air-cooled 2-stroke engines (API TC / JASO FD). DO
NOT use BIA or TCW (2-stroke water-cooling type) mixed oil. The recommended mixing ratio is
OIL 1 : PETROL 40.
• Poor quality petrol or oil may damage sealing rings, fuel lines or the fuel tank. Do not use
wasted or regenerated oil, it can damage the oil pump.
CAUTION!A
To maximise the lifetime of the engine, avoid the following: Do not use raw petrol
(without 2-stroke oil), it will severely damage the engine very quickly. This damage
will not be covered under warranty.
• Do not run the tank dry, as this will cause damage to the engine.
• Do not use oil meant for 4-stroke engines, it will cause spark plug fouling, exhaust blocking
and piston ring sticking.
• Do not use fuel mixtures that have been left standing for 14 days or more, they can damage
the engine.
• Before storing the chainsaw for an extended period, empty the fuel tank, clean it then run
the motor to empty the carburettor.
Note:I
Do not discard an unwanted fuel container with household waste. It must be taken
to an authorised repository site.
