Thank you for purchasing this HiB product. Please read through these instructions
carefully and refer back to them during installation to ensure that your product is fitted
correctly and that it retains its high quality finish.
This user’s guide contains important information regarding the installation of the
product and the usage of the technical functions. Please read all instructions carefully
to ensure optimal performance. HiB assumes no liability if the instructions in this user’s
guide are ignored!
Please retain this leaflet for future reference.
Before assembling and operating the RadioStar Mirror, please check that the contents
are complete. Included in the package:
- RadioStar Mirror (CR2032 Battery Included)
- Remote Control (CR2025 Battery Included)
- Fixings (4x 8mm wall plugs, 4x 25mm screws)

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS DEFINITION OF SYMBOLS
RECOMMENDED TOOLS
All installations must comply with guidelines which are based on a zonal concept.
The colour coded diagram below illustrates this concept and must be followed to
ensure the safe installation of bathroom lighting. These regulations apply to domestic
installations only. Installations must be made in accordance with the current IEE wiring
regulations and relevant building regulations. HiB recommends that all electrical
bathroom products should only be fitted by a suitably qualified, Part P registered
electrician.
Do not place the mirror on the floor without edge protectors! Use a soft cover
to prevent damage to the edges.
The use of electronic high-frequency devices such as hairdryers or mobile phones
next to the RadioStar Mirror can interfere with the reception.
For optimal reception, please fix the RadioStar Mirror next to a window.
The mirror is splash-proof and has IP44 certification. However, please avoid
unnecessary splashes and moisture. This applies especially for the side-mounted
loudspeakers, the remote control and the inside of the metal casing.
All safety precautions are marked with this symbol.
Please read them carefully to avoid personal and material damage!
Please switch off or disconnect all electrical fuses in the area in which you
are working
Components and devices marked with this symbol cannot be disposed of in
domestic waste.
The following tools are recommended for assembly:
- Spirit-level
- Pencil
- Impact drill
- Phillips screwdriver
- Insulated screwdriver

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
- Remove the RadioStar Mirror, the
remote control and the fixing kit from the
packaging.
- Carefully lay the mirror flat on the
floor and check that the contents are
complete.
- Take off the mirror surface carefully and
place it flat on a soft cloth to prevent
damage.
- Switch off the electrical fuses for the
area in which you are working.
- Remove the four screws at the sides or
top / bottom the mirror with a Phillips
screwdriver.
- Hold the steel casing to the wall in the
desired position.
- Adjust the position with the spirit level
to ensure that the mirror is straight.
- Mark the position of each of the fixing
points with a pencil.
- Ensure that there are no electrical wires
or water pipes in the wall.
- Drill the holes using an 8mm drill bit at
the four marked positions.
- Insert the wall plugs.
- Connect the domestic power cable
to the electric terminal of the RadioStar
Mirror.
- Please use an insulated screwdriver.
- Make a hole in the rubber grommet
on the back of the casing for the power
cable.
- Lift the steel casing, pull the power
cable through the hole and screw the
steel casing to the wall.
- Replace the mirror surface and secure
it to the steel casing by tightening the
screws on the sides or top / bottom of
the mirror.
- Peel the protective film from the mirror
and switch on the electrical fuses.

REMOTE CONTROL
LIGHTING
The RadioStar Mirror is equipped with LED illumination for optimal and energy-saving
performance. The lifetime of the LEDs is approximately 50,000 operating hours.
MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY
The easily viewable LED multi-function display shows the time, the station frequency
and additional features.
CONTROL PANEL / REMOTE CONTROL
The side-integrated control panel and the remote control allow for functional and
uncomplicated use.
The radio memory is secured by a continuous power from an additional 3-volt lithium
battery (CR2032 - included).
The remote control requires a 3-volt lithium battery (CR2025 - included).
The settings offer a 10-station memory, an alarm mode and a sleep timer.

SETTINGS
Remove the plastic tab from the bottom of the remote control to establish the
battery connection.
On / Off
Press ‘POWER’ to switch the FM radio on / off.
Volume Control
Volume up with ‘VOL+’ or ‘V+’ / Volume down with ‘VOL-’ or ‘V-’.
Antenna
The antenna consists of the telescopic antenna, the integrated frame antenna and the
external antenna connection.
- Frame antenna: The steel casing of the RadioStar Mirror is used.
- Telescopic antenna: A telescopic antenna is mounted on top of the steel casing.
When the antenna is half-extended, it can be clamped.
In most cases, the antenna can be hidden from view.
- External connection: There is an external antenna connection on the base of the
telescopic antenna.
This alternative should only be used if reception is not
satisfactory, even after adjusting the telescopic antenna.
Starting the Station Scan Automatically
Start the station scan by pressing ‘TUN+’ or ‘TUN-’ for approximately 3 seconds.
Starting the Station Scan Manually
Press ‘TUN+’ or ‘TUN-’ in short intervals to adjust the stations manually.
The FM radio reception can be optimized by adjusting the telescopic antenna.
Station Memory with the Control Panel
You can save up to 10 radio station presets. First, select your preferred FM station.
Press ‘TIME’ for 3 seconds, and then select where to save it by pressing ‘PRESET’
repeatedly.
Press ‘TIME’ again to finish.
Station Memory with the Remote Control
You can save up to 10 radio station presets. First, select your preferred FM station.
Press ‘TIME’ for 3 seconds, and then select where to save it by pressing the number
buttons ‘1-10’.
Press ‘TIME’ again to finish.
Station Memory Changing
If you try to save a new station under a preset that has already been assigned, the
previous station will be deleted and the new one will be saved in its place.
Selecting Saved Stations
By pressing ‘PRESET’ on the control panel, or by pressing the number buttons ‘1-10’
on the remote control, the saved station will be selected.
Setting the Time Mode 12 / 24 Hours
The clock display can be set in 12 or 24 hours mode. Start by turning off the radio.
Activate the clock mode by pressing ‘TIME’ for 3 seconds. By pressing ‘PRESET’
you can choose between 12 / 24 hours mode. Time will be displayed in the 12 hour
mode if a dot appears in the upper left of the display. You are in 24 hour mode if the
dot is not displayed.
To save the selected time mode, press ‘TIME’.
Setting the Time
First, turn off the radio.
Activate the clock mode by pressing ‘TIME’ for 3 seconds.
Adjust the minutes by pressing ‘TUN-’.
Adjust the hours by pressing ‘TUN+’.
Press ‘TIME’ to save the time.
Setting the Radio Alarm Clock
To have the radio automatically turn on at a specific time, the clock must be set first.
Turn off the radio, and activate the radio alarm clock mode by pressing ‘VOL-’ or ‘V-’
for 3 seconds.
Adjust the minutes by pressing ‘TUN-’. Adjust the hours by pressing ‘TUN+’.
Press ‘VOL-’ or ‘V-’ to save the turn on time. The radio will turn on automatically to
the most recently used frequency at the selected time.

SETTINGS TROUBLESHOOTING
Setting the Acoustic Alarm Clock
To have the acoustic signal sound at a specific time, the clock must be set first.
Turn off the radio, and activate the acoustic alarm clock mode by pressing ‘VOL+’ or
‘V+’ for 3 seconds.
Adjust the minutes by pressing ‘TUN-’. Adjust the hours by pressing ‘TUN+’.
Press ‘VOL+’ or ‘V+’ to save the turn on time. The acoustic signal will sound at the
selected time and will turn off automatically after one minute; to turn the acoustic signal
off sooner, press any button.
The radio alarm clock / acoustic alarm clock settings are only possible with
the power supply connected. If you have connected the RadioStar Mirror to
a light switch in your bathroom, make sure that the light switch is turned on,
otherwise no alarm will sound.
Turning the Radio Alarm Clock On/Off
Once set, you can switch the radio alarm clock on or off by pressing ‘VOL-’ or ‘V-’.
Turning the Acoustic Alarm Clock On/Off
Once set, you can switch the acoustic alarm clock on or off by pressing ‘VOL+’ or ‘V+’.
Setting the Sleep-Timer
The automatic shutdown function of the radio can be set for a specified time frame.
The sleep timer will be displayed by pressing ‘SLEEP’. If you press ‘SLEEP’ again,
you can choose the minutes (minimum 10 minutes up to a maximum of 90 minutes)
after which the radio will shut down automatically.
The time will be displayed in ten minute intervals.
The settings are automatically saved after 4 seconds.
To deactivate the sleep timer, press ‘SLEEP’ until the word ‘OFF’ appears in the
display to confirm the deactivation.
iPod/MP3 Connection
By using an FM transmitter (not supplied), available from any good electrical retailer,
you can tune the radio to the FM transmitter and listen to your iPod or MP3 player.

There is a sketch on the back of the remote control which demonstrates how to
replace the battery (CR2025).
To preserve the high quality finish of your HiB product, please ensure you regard the
following care and cleaning recommendations:
- wipe off all water spillages as soon as possible
- mirrors and glass can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth.
- scourers and scouring agents should not be used, as they may cause damage to
the surface of the product
- do not use sharp blades or solvent to peel off the protective film
To support the station memory and the
clock memory, even when the mirror is not
connected to a power supply, a lithium battery
is installed in the radio unit. On average, this
battery lasts for two years. To change the
battery, follow the instructions below:
- Switch off the electrical fuses in the area that
you are working.
- Loosen the screws on the sides of the steel
casing with a Phillips screwdriver. Take off the
mirror surface carefully and place it flat on a
soft cloth to prevent damage.
- Open the battery case in the radio unit by
sliding it to the right.
- Take out the lithium battery and replace it
with a new one (CR2032).
- Reverse all previous instructions to
reassemble the RadioStar Mirror.
