●Usethespecifiednon-flammablerefrigerant(R410A)fortheoutdoorunitintherefrigerantcycle. Charge
onlyR410Aintotheunit.Donotchargeothermaterialsintotheunitsuchashydrocarbon refrigerants
(propane),oxygen,flammablegases(acetylene)orpoisonousgaseswheninstalling, maintainingand
movingtheunit.Theseflammablesareextremelydangerousandmaycausean explosion,afire,or
injury.Asoriginallymanufactured,thisunitcontainsrefrigerantinstalledbyHisense/HITACHI. Hisense/
HITACHIusesonlyrefrigerantsthathavebeenapprovedforuseintheunit’sintended countryormarket.
Hisense/HITACHI’sdistributorssimilarlyareonlyauthorizedtoproviderefrigerants that havebeen
approvedforuse inthecountriesormarketstheyserve.Therefrigerantusedinthisunit is identifiedon
theunit’sfaceplate and/orintheassociatedmanuals.Anyadditionsofrefrigerantintothis unitmust
complywiththecountry’s requirementswithregardtorefrigerantuseandshouldbeobtained from
Hisense/HITACHIdistributors.Useof unapprovedrefrigerantsubstituteswillvoidthewarranties andcan
causeinjuryordeath.
● Donotpourwaterintotheindoororoutdoorunit.Theseunitsareequippedwithelectricalparts.
Exposuretowatermaycauseaseriouselectricalshock.

● Ifthecircuitbreakerorfuseisoftenactivated,stopthesystemandcontactyourservicecontractor.
● Checkthatthegroundwiringissecurelyconnected.Iftheunitisnotcorrectlygrounded,itmaycause
electricshock.Donotconnectthegroundwiringtogaspiping,condensatepiping,lightingconductoror
groundwiringfortelephones.
●Beforeperforminganybrazingwork,checktoensurethatthereisnoflammable materialaround.
Whenusingrefrigerant,besuretowearleatherglovestopreventinjuryfromcold.
● Insulateelectricalwiring,condensatepiping,andelectricalcomponentsfromthreatsposedbyburrowing
animalsandtemperatureextremes.Failuretodosocan,overtime,deterioratesystemperformance.
● Securethecables.Externalforcesontheterminalscouldleadtoafire.
●Tightentheflare nutwithatorquewrenchinthespecifi dmanner.Donotapplyexcessiveforcetothe
flare nutwhentightening.Ifyoudo,theflare nutcancrackandrefrigerantleakagemayoccur.
● Whenmaintaining,relocatingordisposingoftheunit,dismantletherefrigerantpipingafterthecompressor
stops.
● Highlydangerouselectricalvoltagesareusedinthissystem.Carefullyrefertothewiringdiagramand
theseinstructionswhenwiring.Improperconnectionsandinadequategroundingcancauseseriousinjury
ordeath.
● Performallelectricalworkinstrictaccordancewiththisinstallationandmaintenancemanualandall
relevantregulatorystandards.
● Usespecifiedcablesbetweenunits.
●Besuretoinstallcircuitbreakers(groundfaultinterrupter,isolatingswitch,moldedcasecircuitbreaker
andsoon),withthespecified capacity.Ensurethatthewiringterminalsaretightenedsecurelyto
recommendedtorquespecificationsIfacircuitbreakerorfuseisfrequentlyactivated,shutdownthe
systemandcontactyourservicecontractor.
● Clampelectricalwiressecurelywithacableclampafterallwiringisconnectedtotheterminalblock.
Inaddition,runwiressecurelythroughthewiringaccesschannel.
● Wheninstallingthepowerlines,donotapplytensiontothecables.Securethesuspendedcablesat
regularintervals,butnottootightly.
●Afterstoppingoperation,besuretowaitatleastfive minutesbeforeturningoffthemainpowerswitch.
Otherwise,waterleakageorelectricalbreakdownmayresult.Disconnectthepowersupplycompletely
beforeattemptinganymaintenanceforelectricalparts.Checktoensurethatnoresidualvoltageispresent
afterdisconnectingthepowersupply.
● Insulatetherefrigerantpipeconnectiontopreventcondensation.
●Besuretoattachthecoversothatitfits securelyontheelectricalboxwithoutanygaps.Securethe
cover withscrews.

environment to avoid fire or an explosion.
