Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the
Hobbistar .60 Select. You have ade the right
decision by purchasing a “real” odel airplane
with an O.S.®.65 LA engine and a genuine Futaba®
6-channel radio.
There are two parts to this anual. The first part is a
short, easy-to-follow asse bly section. The second
part, Setup, takes you through the initial
adjust ents and flight preparation. Do not overlook
any of the i portant setup procedures and be sure
to follow the instructions all the way to the end of
this anual.
We urge you to join the AMA (Acade y of Model
Aeronautics) and a local R/C club. The AMA is the
governing body of odel aviation and e bership is
required to fly at AMA clubs. Though joining the AMA
provides any benefits, one of the pri ary reasons to
join is liability protection. Coverage is not li ited to
flying at contests or on the club field. It even applies to
flying at public de onstrations and air shows. Failure
to co ply with the Safety Code (excerpts printed in the
back of the anual) ay endanger insurance coverage.
Additionally, training progra s and instructors are
available at AMA club sites to help you get started the
right way. There are over 2,500 AMA chartered clubs
across the country. Contact the AMA at the address or

IMPORTANT!!!
Two of the most important things you can do to
preserve the radio controlled aircraft hobby are to
avoid flying near full-scale aircraft and avoid flying
near or over groups of people
1. Your Hobbistar .60 Select should not be
considered a toy, but rather a sophisticated,
working odel that functions very uch like a full-
size airplane. Because of its perfor ance
capabilities, the Hobbistar .60, if not asse bled
and operated correctly, could possibly cause injury
to yourself or spectators and da age to property.
2. You ust asse ble the odel according to the
instructions. Do not alter or odify the odel, as
doing so ay result in an unsafe or unflyable odel. In
a few cases the instructions ay differ slightly fro the
photos. In those instances the written instructions
should be considered as correct.
