Overview:
The FN-300ULX is a power supply that converts a 115VAC / 60Hz input to a 12VDC or 24VDC regulating output
(see specifications below).

Installation Instructions:
Theunitshouldbeinstalledinaccordancewitharticle760ofTheNationalElectricalCodeaswellasNFPA72andall
applicableLocalCodes.
1. Mountunitinthedesiredlocation. Markandpredrillholesinthewalltolineupwiththetoptwokeyholesinthe
enclosure.Installtwoupperfastenersandscrewsinthewallwiththescrewheadsprotruding.Placetheenclosure’s
upperkeyholesoverthetwoupperscrews;levelandsecure.Markthepositionofthelowertwoholes.Removethe
enclosure.Drillthelowerholesandinstalltwofasteners.Placetheenclosure’supperkeyholesoverthe two upper
screws.Installthetwolowerscrewsandmakesuretotightenallscrews(Enclosure Dimensions, pg. 4).
2. SettheFN-300ULXtothedesiredDCoutputvoltagebysettingSW1(Fig. 1, pg. 2, Fig. 2c, pg. 3) to the appropriate
position(refer to Power Supply Voltage Output Selections chart).
3. ConnectACpower(115VAC60Hz)toterminalsmarked[L,G,N](Fig. 2, pg. 3).Use14AWGorlargerforall
powerconnections(Battery,DCoutput,ACinput).Use22AWGto18AWGforpower-limitedcircuits
(ACFail/LowBatteryreporting).
Keep power-limited wiring separate from non power-limited wiring (115VAC / 60Hz Input, Battery Wires).
Minimum 0.25” spacing must be provided.
CAUTION: Do not touch exposed metal parts. Shut branch circuit power before installing or servicing equipment.
There are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer installation and servicing to qualified service personnel.

5. Measureoutputvoltagebeforeconnectingdevices.Thishelpsavoidpotentialdamage.
6. ForAccessControlapplications,batteriesareoptional.Whenbatteriesarenotused,alossofACwillresultinthe
lossofoutputvoltage.Whentheuseofstand-bybatteriesisdesired,theymustbeleadacidorgeltype.
Connectbatterytoterminalsmarked[+BAT–](Fig. 2, pg. 3).Usetwo(2)12VDCbatteriesconnectedinseriesfor
24VDCoperation(batteryleadsincluded).
7. ConnectappropriatesignalingnotificationdevicestoACFAIL&BATFAIL(Fig. 2a, pg. 3) supervisory relay outputs.
Note:Whenusedinfirealarm,burglaralarmoraccesscontrolapplications,“ACFail”relayshouldbe
utilizedtovisuallyindicatethatACpowerison.Todelayreport6hourscut“ACDelay”jumper(Fig. 2b, pg. 3).
8. Pleaseensurethatthedoorissecuredwiththeprovidedcamlock.
Wiring:
Use14AWGorlargerforallpowerconnections.
Note:Takecaretokeeppower-limitedcircuitsseparatefromnonpower-limitedwiring(115VAC,Battery).
Maintenance:
Unitshouldbetestedatleastonceayearfortheproperoperationasfollows:
Output Voltage Test:Undernormalloadconditions,theDCoutputvoltageshouldbecheckedforpropervoltagelevel
(refer to Power Supply Voltage Output Specifications chart).
Battery Test:Undernormalloadconditionscheckthatthebatteryisfullycharged,checkspecifiedvoltagebothat
batteryterminalandattheboardterminalsmarked[+BAT–]toensurethatthereisnobreakinthebattery
connection wires.
Note:Maximumchargingcurrentunderdischargeis0.7amp.
Note:Expectedbatterylifeis5years,howeveritisrecommendedchangingbatteriesin4yearsorlessifneeded.
