into a bathtub or other water container.
6. Extremecaution is necessary when any heaterisused by, ornear
childrenorinvalids,andwhenever theheaterisleftoperatingand
unattended.
7. Always unplug the heater when not in use.
8. When unplugging, be sure to pull by the plug and not the cord.
9. DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or
exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or
damage the heater.
10.DONOToperate heaterwith adamagedcord orplug, or afterthe
heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to manufacturer for examination,
electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
11.A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. DO NOT
use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are
used or stored.
12.Use appliance only for intended household use as described
in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturermay cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
The use of attachments not recommended or sold by The Holmes
Group may cause hazards.
13.DO NOT use outdoors.

any manner. DO NOT use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where

15.To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug
from outlet.
16.Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord
may overheat and cause a risk of fire. However, if you have to
useanextensioncord,thecordshallbeNo.14AWGminimumsize
and rated not less than 1875 watts.
17.If the heater will not operate, see specific instructions on Auto
Safety Shut-off.
18.DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical
functionson thisunit. Doingso willvoid yourwarranty.Theinside
oftheunit contains no user serviceable parts. All servicing should
be performed by qualified personnel only.

AUTO SAFETY SHUT-OFF WITH CERAMIC CONTROL
This heater is equipped with a patented, technologically-advanced,
safety system that requires the user to reset the heater if there is a
potential overheat situation. When a potential overheat temperature is
reached, the system will automatically shut the heater off. It can only
resume operation when the user resets the unit.
To Reset the Heater:
1. Unplug the unit.
2. Wait 10 minutes for the unit to cool down; press the RESET button.
3. Plug the unit in again and operate normally.
Tip-Over Shut Off:
When the unit is accidentally knocked over, it will instantly shut off.
To reset,simply place the heater in an uprightposition ona level surface.
MAXFLOW™ HEATING SYSTEM
The patented MaxFlow™ Heating system incorporates a top mounted fan
andinternalshroudto provide maximumheatdispersion.TheMaxFlow™
Heating system delivers a combination of instant, penetrating warmth in
theimmediate area,as wellas forcing heatout forentire roomcoverage.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Carefully remove your heater from the box. (please save the carton
for off-season storage).
2. Place heater on firm level surface.
3. Avoid overloading your circuit by not using other high wattage
appliancesinthesameoutlet.At1500watts,thisunitdraws12.5amps.
Note: This unit is for floor use only.
ALCI (Appliance Leakage Current Interrupter) SAFETY DEVICE: This device provides
protectionagainst electricshockdue togroundfault currentsbyautomatically shutting
offthe power. To test theoperation ofthe ALCISafety Device,switch theheater ONat
eithertheHIorLOsetting.PresstheTESTbuttonontheALCIdeviceattachedtothe plug
end of the line cord. The heater and fan should stop operating and the Power light
should be extinguished. Press the RESET button on the ALCI device to resume normal
operationof theheater.Thisdevise shouldnot beused onON/OFF operationswitch.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Your heater is equipped with a technologically advanced 1TouchTM
electronic thermostat. You can set the heater to run continuously in
manualmode or setthe 1TouchTM Thermostattoyour desired temperature
setting. The 1TouchTM thermostat will automatically turn the heater ON or
OFF depending on the preset comfort level. The comfort level ranges
between 60º and 80º Fahrenheit.
Manual Mode Instructions:
1. Plug the heater into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
2. To start the unit, push the MODE/OFF button once for the HIGH
manual setting. (See Fig. 1 and 2)
3. Pressthe buttonagainfor theLOW manualsetting. (See Fig.1 and2)
4. To stop the unit, press and hold the button for two seconds or keep
pressing the button until all the temperature indicators are OFF.
Note: The Power Light will remain lit during operation. In Manual Mode,
only the LOW or HIGH power light will be lit.
1TOUCHTM THERMOSTAT INSTRUCTIONS
To take advantage of the 1TouchTM Thermostat continue to press the
MODE/OFF button until the desired temperature is set in either the HIGH
or LOW setting. When ambient temperature rises above the set
temperature, the heater will stop. When the ambient temperature drops
below the set temperature, the heater will turn on automatically.
Note:When the1TouchTM thermostatisset, eitherthe HIGHor LOWpower
light, and the set temperature light will remain lit during operation.

Note: It is normal for the heater to cycle ON and OFF as it maintains the
preset temperature. To prevent the unit from cycling, you need to raise
the thermostat setting.
Note: 1TouchTM has memory. The 1TouchTM thermostat will remember the
previoustemperature setting afterthe unithasbeen turnedoff. However,
if the unit is unplugged, the 1TouchTM thermostat will be reset and will no
longer remember the previous temperature setting.
Note: This unit is equipped with a thermister located on the power cord.
This thermister is never to be tampered with in any way. It is responsible
forreading temperatures and adjusting thethermostat accordingly.It will
be most accurate when placed away from any heat source.
CLEANING/MAINTENANCE
During Season Care:
Always unplug the heater, before moving or cleaning.
1. Carefullywipetheunitwithasoft,dampcloth.Pleasebe verycautious
near the motor and heating elements.
2. Aftercleaning,besuretocompletelydrytheunitwithaclothortowel.
After Season Care:
1. Store heater in a cool, dry location.
2. Holmes recommends that you store the unit in its original carton.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If your heater fails to operate:
•Make sure the electrical outlet or circuit breaker is working.
• Check for obstructions. If you find an obstruction turn the heater OFF,
and UNPLUG THE UNIT. Carefully remove the obstruction and follow
the reset instructions.
• Thethermostatmight be settoolow.Pressthe MODE/OFFbuttonuntil
the heater restarts.
