HomeMatic Komponenten in Betrieb nehmen.
Bewahren Sie die Anleitung zum späteren Nachschla-
gen auf!
Wenn Sie das Gerät anderen Personen zur Nutzung
überlassen, übergeben Sie auch diese Bedienungs-
anleitung.

Öffnen Sie das Gerät nicht. Es enthält keine

Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur in Innenräumen
und setzen Sie es keinem Einuss von
Feuchtigkeit, Vibrationen, ständiger Sonnen-
oder anderer Wärmeeinstrahlung, Kälte und
keinen mechanischen Belastungen aus.
Das Gerät ist kein Spielzeug, erlauben Sie
Kindern nicht damit zu spielen. Lassen Sie das
Verpackungsmaterial nicht achtlos liegen.
Plastikfolien/-tüten, Styroporteile, etc., könnten
für Kinder zu einem gefährlichen Spielzeug
werden.
Das Gerät darf nur an eine leicht zugängliche
Netz-Steckdose angeschlossen werden. Bei
Gefahr ist der Netzstecker zu ziehen.
Reinigen Sie das Gerät mit einem trockenen
Leinentuch, das bei starken Verschmutzungen
leicht angefeuchtet sein kann. Verwenden Sie
zur Reinigung keine lösemittelhaltigen
Reinigungsmittel. Achten Sie darauf, dass
keine Feuchtigkeit in das Geräteinnere gelangt.
Jeder andere Einsatz als in dieser Bedienungs-
anleitung beschrieben ist nicht bestimmungs-
gemäß und führt zu Garantie- und Haftungsaus-
schluss. Dies gilt auch für Umbauten und
Veränderungen. Das Gerät ist ausschließlich für
den privaten Gebrauch gedacht.
3 Funktion
Der HomeMatic Kongurationsadapter LAN ermöglicht
die Konguration der Funktionen von bis zu 1000
HomeMatic Komponenten von einem PC aus, ohne
eine HomeMatic Zentrale einsetzen zu müssen.
Der Anschluss des Kongurationsadapters erfolgt
über eine Netzwerkverbindung (LAN), die HomeMatic
Komponenten werden über die im HomeMatic System
übliche Funkverbindung erreicht.
Die Konguration der Komponenten sowie die
Anbindung des Kongurationsadapters erfolgen über
eine PC-Software. Weiterhin kann der Kongurations-
adapter LAN zur Verlängerung der Reichweite einer
HomeMatic Zentrale (CCU1) eingesetzt werden. Dies
ist ab WebUI Version 1.500 der Zentrale möglich.

5 Allgemeine Hinweise zum
Funkbetrieb
Die Funk-Übertragung wird auf einem nicht exklusiven
Übertragungsweg realisiert, weshalb Störungen nicht
ausgeschlossen werden können.
Weitere Störeinüsse können durch Schaltvorgänge,
Elektromotoren oder defekte Elektrogeräte hervorge-
rufen werden.
Die Reichweite in Gebäuden kann stark von
der im Freifeld abweichen. Außer der
Sendeleistung und den Empfangseigenschaf-
ten der Empfänger spielen neben Umweltein-
üssen wie Luftfeuchtigkeit bauliche/
abschirmende Gegebenheiten vor Ort eine
wichtige Rolle.
Hiermit erklärt die eQ-3 Entwicklung GmbH, dass sich
dieses Gerät in Übereinstimmung mit den grundle-
genden Anforderungen und den anderen relevanten
Vorschriften der Richtlinie 1999/5/EG bendet.

6 Inbetriebnahme/Installation
6.1 Systemvoraussetzungen
Die Kongurationssoftware verlangt nur minimale
Systemvoraussetzungen. Für ihren Betrieb ist ein PC
mit MS Windows XP/Vista/7/8 sowie ein installierter
Microsoft®Internet Explorer 8 oder höher notwendig.
6.2 Installation
• Geben Sie die URL www.homematic.com in Ihren
Browser ein und öffnen Sie die Website.
• Klicken Sie im unteren Bereich der Startseite auf
den Button „Downloads“ (Sie werden weitergeleitet
auf den Downloadbereich der eQ-3 AG).
• Suchen Sie in der Eingabemaske nach der aktu-
ellsten Softwareversion für den HomeMatic Kongu-

rationsadapter, indem Sie als Suchbegriff „HM-CFG-
LAN“ eingeben, die Suchkategorie auf „HomeMatic“
stellen und als Download-Art „Software“ auswählen.
Klicken Sie anschließend auf „Suche starten“.
• Wählen Sie in der Ergebnisliste die aktuellste
Softwareversion aus und klicken Sie auf den
Download-Button. Laden Sie die Software herunter
und installieren Sie diese.
• Nachdem die Installationsdateien heruntergeladen
wurden, entpacken Sie zunächst den zip.-Ordner.
• Schließen Sie jetzt den Kongurationsadapter über
das mitgelieferte Netzteil an das 230-V-Netz an. Die
Kontrollleuchte „Status” leuchtet für einige Sekun-
den auf (Initialisierung).
• Schließen Sie dann den Kongurationsadapter über
das mitgelieferte Netzwerkkabel an Ihren Netzwerk-
Router oder den Netzwerk-Switch an. Der ordnungs-
gemäße Anschluss wird durch das Aueuchten bzw.
unregelmäßiges Blinken der Kontroll-Leuchte „Link”
quittiert.
• Starten Sie die Installation über die Datei „Se-
tup_HMCFG.exe” und folgen Sie den Anweisungen,
um das Programm „HomeMatic Kongurator“ zu
installieren.
• Beim ersten Start der Software wird automatisch die
Verbindungswahl abgefragt. (Dies können Sie spä-
ter im Programmmenü unter „Datei” über die Option
„Einstellungen” und dort im Fenster „Verbindungs-
auswahl” auch nachträglich aufrufen.) Wählen Sie
die Option „HomeMatic-LAN-Interface” an:
• Geben Sie im Fenster „Einstellungen für LAN-
Interface” die Seriennummer und den Zugriffscode
ein, die auf dem Etikett auf der Unterseite des
Kongurationsadapters aufgedruckt sind:

• Wählen Sie im Fenster „Verbindungsauswahl be-
stätigen” die Option „Fertig stellen” an. Damit ist der
Kongurationsadapter angemeldet:
• Mit dem Hilfsprogramm „HomeMatic LAN-Interface
Congurator” können Sie die Netzwerkeinstellungen
des Kongurationsadapters kontrollieren und bei
Bedarf modizieren:

Nutzung einer anderen Zentrale
Wollen Sie eine angelernte HomeMatic Komponente
aus dem System entfernen, an andere Nutzer weiter-
geben oder aber die HomeMatic Zentrale CCU einset-
zen, sind alle betroffenen HomeMatic-Komponenten
vom Kongurationsadapter abzulernen. Lesen Sie
dazu die Beschreibung im WebUI Handbuch.
Wurde ein System-Sicherheitsschlüssel vergeben,
sind die angelernten HomeMatic-Komponenten in den
Auslieferungszustand zurückzusetzen. Lesen Sie dazu
die Beschreibung im WebUI Handbuch.
9 Statusmeldungen
Die Kontrollleuchten des Kongurationsadapters
können folgende Zustände anzeigen:

10 Wartung und Reinigung
Das Produkt ist wartungsfrei. Überlassen Sie eine
Reparatur einer Fachkraft.
Reinigen Sie das Produkt mit einem weichen,
sauberen, trockenen und fusselfreien Tuch. Für die
Entfernung von stärkeren Verschmutzungen kann
das Tuch leicht mit lauwarmem Wasser angefeuchtet
werden. Verwenden Sie keine lösungsmittelhaltigen
Reinigungsmittel, das Kunststoffgehäuse und die
Beschriftung kann dadurch angegriffen werden.

HomeMatic components. Keep the manual so you can
refer to it at a later date if you need to. If you hand
over the device to other persons for use, please hand
over the operating manual as well.

2 Hazard information
We do not assume any liability for damage to
property or personal injury caused by improper
use or the failure to observe the safety
instructions. In such cases any claim under
guarantee is extinguished! For consequential
damages, we assume no liability!
Do not open the device. It does not contain any
parts that can be maintained by the user. In the
event of an error, please return the device to
our service department.
Do not use the device if there are signs of
damage to the housing, control elements or
connecting sockets, for example, or if it
demonstrates a malfunction. If you have any
doubts, have the device checked by an expert
or by our service department.
For safety and licensing reasons (CE),
unauthorized change and/or modication of the
product is not permitted.
The device may only be operated indoors and
must be protected from the effects of moisture,
vibrations, solar or other methods of heat

The device is not a toy; do not allow children to
play with it. Do not leave packaging material
lying around, plastic lms/bags, pieces of
polystyrene etc., can be dangerous in the
hands of a child.
The device may only be connected to an easily
accessible power socket outlet. The mains plug
must be pulled out if a hazard occurs.
Use a dry linen cloth to clean the device. If the
device is particularly dirty, you can slightly
dampen the cloth to clean it. Do not use any
detergents containing solvents for cleaning
purposes. Make sure that no moisture will
ingress into the housing.
Using the device for any purpose other than
that described in this operating manual does
not fall within the scope of intended use and
shall invalidate any warranty or liability. This
also applies to any conversion or modication
work. The device is intended for private use
only.
3 Function
The HomeMatic Conguration Adapter LAN enables
the functions of up to 1000 HomeMatic components
to be congured from a PC, without having to use a
HomeMatic Central Control Unit.
The conguration adapter is connected via a network
(LAN), whilst the HomeMatic components are ac-
cessed via the wireless connection that is standard in
the HomeMatic system.
Components are congured and the conguration
adapter is connected by means of PC software. It can
also be used to extend the range of a HomeMatic Cen-
tral Control Unit (CCU1). This feature is supported as
of rmware version 1.500 of the Central Control Unit.

HomeMatic system
This device is part of the HomeMatic home control
system and works with the bidirectional BidCoS®
wireless protocol. All current technical documents and
updates are provided under
www.homematic.com.

5 General information about radio
operation
Radio transmission is performed on a non-exclusive
transmission path, which means that there is a pos-
sibility of interference occurring. Switching operations,
electrical motors or defective electrical devices can
also cause interference.
The range of transmission within buildings can
differ greatly from that available in the open air.
Besides the transmitting power and the
reception characteristics of the receiver,
environmental factors such as humidity in the
vicinity have an important role to play, as do
on-site structural/screening conditions.

6 Start-up and installation
6.1 System prerequisites
The conguration software has only minimal system
prerequisites. To run the software you will need a PC
with MS Windows XP/Vista/7/8 that has Microsoft®
Internet Explorer 8 or higher installed on it.
6.2 Installation
• Enter the URL www.homematic.com into your
browser to open the website.
• At the bottom of the page, please click on "Down-
loads" (you will be re-directed to the download area
of eQ-3 AG).
• You can search for the most current software ver-
sion of the HomeMatic Conguration Adapter by en-
tering the keyword "HM-CFG-LAN" into the search
eld and selecting "HomeMatic" and "Software".
Then click on “Start search”.
• In the result list below please select the most current
software version and click on the "Download" button.
Start the software download and install the software.
• After the installation les have been downloaded,
the zip le has to be unziped.
• Now connect the conguration adapter to the
230 V mains via the supplied power supply unit. The

“Status” indicator light comes on for a few seconds
(during initialisation).
• Now use the network cable supplied to connect
the conguration adapter to your network router or
network switch. If the “Link” indicator light comes on
or ashes with an irregular frequency, this shows
that the conguration adapter has been connected
correctly.
• Start the installation of the software via the le
"Setup_HMCFG.exe" and follow the instructions to
install the program "HomeMatic Congurator".
• When the software is started for the rst time the
connection type will be requested automatically.
(The connection type can be selected also after-
wards in the program menu under "File", "Settings"
and there in the window "Select connection".) Select
the option "HomeMatic LAN interface".
• In the “Settings for LAN interface” window enter the
serial number and the access code printed on the
label underneath the conguration adapter:
• In the “Conrm connection selection” window click
“Finish”. The conguration adapter has now been
registered:

gurator” utility program to check the conguration

adapter’s network settings and to modify them, if
necessary:

found in the WebUI Manual, available for download
in the download area at www.homematic.com.
8 Teaching-out components /
using a different CCU
If you want to remove a taught-in HomeMatic compo-
nent from the system, pass it on to other users or use
the HomeMatic Central Control Unit instead, all the
HomeMatic components concerned must be taught-
out from the conguration adapter. For information
about this procedure, refer to the description of the
WebUI manual.
If a system security key has been assigned, the
taught-in HomeMatic components must be reset to
their initial state. For information about this procedure,
refer to the description of the WebUI Manual.
9 Status messages
The indicator lights of the conguration adapter can
represent the following states:

10 Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance. Enlist
the help of an expert to carry out any repairs. Clean
the product using a soft, lint-free cloth that is clean and
dry. You may dampen the cloth a little with lukewarm
water in order to remove more stubborn marks. Do not
use any detergents containing solvents, as they could
corrode the plastic housing and the label.
