PRÉSENTATION
Le MICRO-K est un appareil autonome isolant, à circuit fermé, destiné à permettre l'évacuation ou un
dégagement d'urgence, des personnels lors d'un incendie de forêt où l'air devient irrespirable. Cet appareil
est composé d'une cartouche de KO2 et d'un sac respiratoire monté sur un demi-masque. Le tout scellé
dans un sac en film aluminisé étanche et rangé dans une sacoche en toile portable à la ceinture. Ce
système assure l'alimentation du porteur en oxygène pendant plus de 6 minutes.
LIMITES D'UTILISATION
Le MICRO-K est uniquement destiné à l'évacuation de pompiers dans leur lutte contre les incendies
de forêts. C'est un appareil à usage unique, après utilisation il faut impérativement le jeter ou le faire
reconditionner par un personnel qualifié. Le MICRO-K ne doit être porté et utilisé que par un personnel
ayant subit une formation pratique et un entraînement adapté. Pour cette formation utiliser l'appareil
MICRO-K d'entraînement référence 1799002 ou 1799011 (avec crochets pour casque F2). Ces appareils
d'entraînement, pour être bien distingués des MICRO-K standards, sont présentés en sac orange.
Le MICRO-K doit être utilisé uniquement dans un espace plein air.
CONSIGNES D'UTILISATION
Lorsque l'utilisateur se retrouve en atmosphère irrespirable, appliquer la procédure suivante :
Ouvrir le sac toile du MICRO K.
Si le sac contient un "PONCHO" (option), le sortir et l'enfiler.
Sortir le sac en film aluminisé contenant le MICRO-K.
Déchirer le sac aluminisé : une amorce de déchirure est prévue sur la partie supérieure du sac.
Appliquer le demi-masque sur le visage : Partie la plus pointue vers le haut.
Sans ôter le casque passer la bride élastomère par dessus la tête en positionnant le milieu de celle-ci
au niveau de la nuque.
Si l'utilisateur ne possède pas de casque, procéder de la même manière puis serrer l'ensemble en tirant
sur les extrémités de la bride.
Si le micro-K possède des crochets, passer la bride élastomère par-dessus le casque et la positionner
sur la nuque. Insérer les crochets dans les zones appropriées du casque. Brider ensuite en tirant vers
l’avant les extrémités de la bride.
Inspirer fortement et expirer afin de gonfler le sac respiratoire.
Respirer normalement et évacuer la zone irrespirable.
Avertissements
L'augmentation progressive de la température de l'air inspiré est normale, en aucun cas ôter
l'appareil.
Toujours s'assurer que l'équipement de protection respiratoire est adapté aux risques
encourus.
Tout appareil dont le scellement est cassée et/ou le sac en film aluminisé déchiré doit
impérativement être reconditionné après échange de la cartouche de KO2.
Le KO2 longuement exposé à l'air libre en absorbe l'humidité et se dégrade en saumure
fortement basique. De ce fait, pour éviter des risque de brûlures, il ne faut jamais utiliser un
appareil donc le sac aluminisé est percé ou déchiré.
Le MICRO-K ne doit pas être utilisé pour l'évacuation de locaux, comme appareil
d'intervention ou comme appareil de protection de l'homme au travail.
ENTRETIEN, STOCKAGE
Entretien
Cet appareil est à usage unique et de ce fait ne réclame aucune intervention d'entretien.
Contrôle périodique.
Le contrôle périodique consiste à vérifier que l'appareil n'a pas pris l'humidité. Pour cela :
Ouvrir la sacoche en toile et sortir l'appareil conditionné dans son sac en film aluminisé.

Appareil stocké
Avant le stockage, puis tous les ans.
Avant la mise en service.
Appareil porté
Mensuellement si non intervention au feu.
Avant et après chaque intervention au feu.
Stockage
Durée maximale de stockage est de 5 ans, conservé dans son emballage d'origine non détérioré.
A l'échéance de cette durée il est nécessaire de faire procéder à un reconditionnement par le Service
Après Vente HONEYWELL RESPIRATORY SAFETY PRODUCTS ou un autre organisme habilité.

INTRODUCTION
The MICRO-K is a self-contained, closed circuit, isolating breathing apparatus intended to enable
evacuation or emergency clearance of people during a forest fire where the air becomes unbreathable. This
apparatus comprises a KO2 cartridge and a breathing bag mounted on a half-face mask. The assembly is
sealed in an airtight aluminised plastic bag and stored in a portable canvass bag worn on the belt. This
system provides the wearer with an oxygen supply for more than 6 minutes.
LIMITATIONS FOR USE
The MICRO-K is only intended for evacuating firemen fighting forest fires. It is a single use device;
after use it must be discarded or reconditioned by qualified staff. The MICRO-K must only be worn by
people having undertaken practical training and appropriate practice. For this training use MICRO-K training
apparatus reference 1799002 or 1799011 (with hooks for helmet F2). To distinguish them from standard
MICRO-K apparatus, these training devices are packed in an orange bag.
The MICRO-K must only be used in the open air.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The wearer should apply the following procedure when in an unbreathable atmosphere:
Open the MICRO-K canvass bag.
If the bag contains a "PONCHO" (option), take it out and put it on.
Take out the aluminised film bag containing the MICRO-K.
Tear open the aluminised bag: a tearing guide is provided on the top of the bag.
Put the half-face mask on the face: pointed part uppermost.
Without removing the helmet, pass the elastomeric strap over the head, positioning the strap on the
nape of the neck.
If the user is not wearing a helmet, proceed in the same way and then tighten the assembly by pulling
the ends of the strap.
If the Micro-K has hooks, pass the elastomeric strap over the helmet and position it in the nape of the
neck. Insert the hooks into the appropriate parts of the helmet. Now tighten it by pulling forwards on the
ends of the strap.
Breathe in and out deeply in order to inflate the breathing bag.
Breathe normally and leave the area where breathing was impossible.
Warnings
It is normal for the temperature of breathed air to increase; do not remove the apparatus
under any circumstances.
Always make sure that the respiratory protection equipment is suitable for the risks
experienced.
Any apparatus with a broken seal and/or torn aluminised film bag must be repackaged after
changing the KO2 cartridge.
KO2 extensively exposed to the air absorbs moisture from it and deteriorates into a strongly
alkaline brine. As a result, to avoid the risk of burns, an apparatus with a punctured or torn
aluminised bag must never be used.
The MICRO-K must not be used to evacuate premises, as fire-fighting equipment or an
protective equipment for men working.
MAINTENANCE, STORAGE
Maintenance
This apparatus is for single use only and as a result requires no maintenance.
Periodic check.
The periodic check consists of confirming that the apparatus has not taken in moisture. To do this:
Open the canvass bag and take out the apparatus packed in its aluminised film bag.

Before putting into storage, then every year.
Before putting into use.
Apparatus carried
Monthly if there is no fire fighting activity.
Before and after each fire fighting activity.
Storage
Maximum storage period is 5 years, stored in its undamaged original packaging.
At the end of this period, the apparatus must be repacked by the HONEYWELL RESPIRATORY SAFETY
PRODUCTS After Sales Service department or another approved organisation.
