3GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
This Floormate is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial or industrial use.
1. This Floormate is for use on hard floors only.
2. Only use the Floormate indoors and keep the area you’re cleaning well lit.
3. Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing from moving parts and openings whilst using the Floormate.
4. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
5. Please refer to floor manufacturer’s care recommendations before use, and test your flooring by running the Floormate over
a small hidden area, if no damage or discolouration occurs continue cleaning. Not suitable for use on water
sensitive flooring.
6. Only Hoover recommended tools and accessories should be used with this Floormate.
7. Don’t use this Floormate if it has been dropped, damaged, immersed in water or left outdoors.
8. Don’t run over the power cord or use Floormate if the power cord or plug is damaged.
9. Don’t handle the plug or use the Floormate with wet hands.
10. Don’t pull or carry this Floormate by the power cord. Don’t use the power cord as a handle, pull the power cord around
corners or sharp edges or close a door over the power cord.
11. Don’t unplug Floormate by pulling on the power cord.
12. Don’t attempt to remove blockages with sharp objects as this may cause damage to your Floormate.
13. Don’t use the Floormate with incorrect voltage as this may result in damage or injury to the user. The correct voltage is
listed on the ratings label.
14. Don’t vacuum up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches or smoking hot burning items or use in an area where there may be
harmful fluids (chlorine, bleach, and ammonia drain cleaner).
15. Always make sure filter and recovery tank are fitted correctly before using your Floormate.
16. Always turn off and unplug the Floormate before carrying out any maintenance.
17. The clean water tank should only be filled with warm water (max 40°C). Filling the clean water tank with hot or boiling
water may damage your machine and invalidate your guarantee.
18. Turn off all controls on the Floormate before disconnecting or connecting the power cord, after use always wrap the
power cord around the cord clips provided.
19. Always protect the power cord from heated surfaces or near open flames.
20. Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cords may overheat. Care should be taken to
arrange the extension cord as it can be a trip hazard.
21. Always carry the Floormate by the handle.
22. Always use the Floormate in an upright position. To prevent motor damage from dirty water, never hold the Floormate
upside down or lay on its side.
23. Store your Floormate in a cool, dry area. Before storing your Floormate please ensure all water/detergents tanks and
filters are thoroughly clean and dry.

To remove the clean water
tank, squeeze release
button and pull to remove.
Twist tank cap counter
clockwise and lift to remove.
Using the water tank cap
as a measuring cup, pour
in the required amount of
detergent (approx. 60ml
per 1 litre of water).

OPERATION
Please read General Safety Information at the beginning before use.
Please remove any large objects or debris and it is advisable to then vacuum your hard floor prior to using your
Floormate Edge.
Important: Only use Hoover hard floors cleaning detergent. Using other detergents may cause excess foaming.
Excessive foam will prevent the machine from working effectively.
Warning: Always switch the machine off and unplug before carrying out any maintenance.

Place base of machine on the
floor and lock machine body
into place.
Lock handle into place. Turn handle release dial in to
‘locked’ position.

Note: The recovery tank has an automatic shut off to prevent the
tank from overflowing. If this is activated, the machine will not pick
up and the sound of the motor will change. The recovery tank will
need to be emptied.

Pour cleaning detergent
into tank. Top up tank to
fill line with warm water
(Max 40°C).
To remove recovery
tank, press down on
release button and pull.
Twist the tank cap into place
to secure.
Unclip latches on
recovery tank lid,
remove lid to empty.
Place the bottom of the
Clean water tank onto the
machine first and click the
top into place.
Pour dirty water
into sink.
Place the bottom of the
recovery tank onto the
machine first and click
the top into place.

Push switch to turn machine on, push switch again to
turn machine off.
Step on handle release pedal to recline machine.
Cleaning the filter

Rinse under water to remove
debris (max. 40°C) and leave
for at least 24 hours or until
fully dry before replacing in
the machine.
After each use clean the water tank filter. Pull open the clean
water tank lid, gently remove filter.
The mode selector allows you to choose DRY mode or WASH mode.
To wet clean with spinscrub brushes turned on, turn the dial
to the WASH position.
DRY mode raises the Spinscrub brushes off the floor and also stops them
spinning to allow the water to be picked up.
To move your machine from
room to room, with the
handle in the upright
position and tilt the machine
back on the rear wheels.

The machine may be moved
by using the carry handle at
the front of the machine.
In WASH mode slowly move the machine forward to arms length
squeezing the trigger to release the detergent. Release trigger
and pull back the machine to pick up.
Nozzle can be removed for easy
cleaning. Slide the two nozzle
release latches outwards.
Pull spinscrub brush bar out.
The brushes can be rinsed
under water to remove debris
(Max 40°C). To replace
spinscrub brushes press firmly
and lock into place then click
nozzle latches back into
place.
Remove nozzle by pulling
straight out and rinse under
running water to clean.
Warning: Always remove the tanks before carrying out brush/nozzle maintenance.
Tip: The tanks should be emptied and cleaned after each use and before storage.

FAQs
Why won’t my Floormate switch on?
• Check the fuse in the plug. Always replace the fuse in the plug with a 13amp fuse.
Why won’t my Floormate pick up?
• Empty recovery tank, remove any debris from filter. If washing filter allow 24 hours to fully dry before refitting.
• The recovery tank has an automatic shut off to prevent the tank from overflowing. If this is activated, the machine
will not pick up and the sound of the motor will change. The recovery tank will need to be emptied.
• Make sure the recovery tank is locked into place
• Nozzle may not be locked into position
Why won’t the water/detergent dispense?
• Clean water tank may not be locked in position.
• Clean water tank may be empty and need to be refilled.
• Mode selector switch is set to Dry mode, change to WASH
• Check the spinscrub brushes for blockages and clear
Why won’t the brushes spin?
• Mode selector switch is set to PICK UP, change to WASH.
• Check the brushes for blockages and clear.
Warning: Always unplug the Floormate before performing maintenance/troubleshooting checks.
