1. Limited Lifetime Warranty (“Warranty”).Horizon Global ("We", “Us” or “Our”) warrants to
the original consumer purchaser only ("You" or “Your”) that the product will be free from
material defects in both material and workmanship, ordinary wear and tear excepted. The
Warranty is valid only if: (a) the products are returned to Us for inspection and testing; (b)
Our inspection discloses to Our satisfaction that any alleged nonconformance are material
and have not been caused by misuse, neglect, wear and tear, improper installation,
unsuitable storage, improper repair, alteration, or accident; and (c) the products were
installed, maintained and used in accordance with Our instructions. THE WARRANTY IS
MADE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (OTHER THAN THE
WARRANTY OF TITLE AS PROVIDED BY THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE IN EFFECT IN
MICHIGAN), INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY

2. Obligations of Purchaser. To make a Warranty claim, contact Us at our principal address of

by model number, and follow the claim instructions that will be provided. Any returned
product that is replaced by Us becomes our property. You may be responsible for return
shipping costs. Please retain your purchase receipt to verify date of purchase and that You
are the original consumer purchaser. The product and the purchase receipt must be
provided to Us in order to process Your Warranty claim.
3. Exclusive Remedy. Product replacement is Your sole and exclusive remedy under this
Warranty. We shall not be liable for service or labor charges incurred in removing or

2018 Hyundai Elantra
*Note: If rear bumper fascia does not have a lower panel that can be removed see 2019 Hyundai Elantra installation instructions.
1. Remove Plastic Cover –(Driver Side) Using a 10mm socket remove (4) nuts and using a flathead screwdriver remove (3) plastic push pins.
2. Remove Lower Fascia –Using a phillips-head screwdriver remove (2) screws (1) per side and using a flathead screwdriver remove (3) plastic push pins. Then
remove the plastic fascia attachment with a phillips-head screwdriver, (1) screw per attachment and return to owner. (See Figure 4)
3. Lower Exhaust –Using an exhaust hanger removal tool remove the rubber isolators from the hanger.
Note: Support the exhaust before lowering.
Note: Removal of the heat shield is not required but can be removed to assist with modification. Cut or bend the area around the rearmost stud to make
clearance for the hitch. Make sure to leave the hole in the heat shield so that it may be reattached. If removed modify and reattach. (See figure 5)
4. Remove Existing Hardware –Remove the existing 10mm bolts (2) each side from the bulk head.
5. Fish Wire –Attach items jand kto item nand follow the instructions in Figure 2. Leave item nattached until the hitch is raised into position.
Note: If plastic caps are covering the access hole remove and return to owner.
6. Install Hitch –Raise hitch into position, be careful not to push the hardware into the frame.
a) USA built models: Secure hitch to vehicle using supplied 10mm bolts, item o(2) per side and 7/16” conical washers, item l(teeth side toward hitch).
b) Korean built models: Secure hitch to vehicle using supplied 8mm bolts, item p(2) per side and 3/8” conical washers, item q(teeth side toward
hitch). Then remove item nand attach item land mto item j.
7. Trim Lower Fascia –In the center of the lower fascia cut a 3-inch-wide by a 5-inch-long section to give clearance for the receiver tube of the hitch. (See Figure 3)
8. Reinstall Lower Fascia and Plastic Cover –Snap the lower fascia into to place and reinsert the (2) screws removed in step 2. Then reinstall the plastic cover with
the (4) 10mm nuts and (3) plastic push pins removed in step 1.
9. Torque Hardware –Tighten all 8mm fasteners to 27 Lb-Ft. (37 N*M), all 10mm fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M), and all 7/16 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
10. Raise Exhaust –Raise the exhaust back into position by reattaching the rubber isolators to the hangers.

2019 Hyundai Elantra
*Note: If rear bumper fascia has a lower panel that can be removed see 2018 Hyundai Elantra installation instructions.
1. Remove Taillights –Open trunk. Remove access panel from behind taillight. Using a 10mm socket, remove (2) hex nuts that secure taillight. Unplug the electrical connector and push wiring
with rubber grommet through hole in body. Remove the taillight by gently pulling horizontally rearward. Repeat on other side of vehicle.
Note: During taillight removal, filler panel on side of light assembly may detach from taillight. Ensure panel is reinstalled before taillights are reinstalled on vehicle.
2. Remove Underbody Panel –Using a 10mm socket and flat head screwdriver, remove (4) hex nuts and (3) push pin rivets from underbody panel on the driver's side of vehicle.
3. Lower Exhaust –Using an exhaust hanger removal tool (or pry bar) remove the rubber isolators from hangers.
Note: Support the exhaust before lowering.
Note: Removal of the heat shield is not required but can be removed to assist with modification. Cut or bend the area around the rearmost stud to make clearance for the hitch arm.
Make sure to leave the hole in the heat shield so that it may be reattached. If removed, modify and reattach. (See Figure 5)
4. Remove Fascia and Bumper Beam Assembly –
a) Under taillight: Remove (2) push pin rivets and (1) phillips head screw from fascia under taillight area. Repeat on other side of vehicle.
b) Fender wells: Using a phillips head screw driver, remove (3) screws and one 8mm hex head screw from wheel well liner and fascia. Repeat on other side of vehicle.
c) Underside of fascia: Using a flat head screw driver, remove (3) push pin rivets from bottom edge of fascia. (2) located by passenger side rear tire, (1) located by driver side rear tire.
d) Bumper fasteners: Using a 12mm socket, remove (2) bolts holding bumper beam to end panel. Repeat on other side of vehicle. Return bolts to vehicle owner.
e) Unclip fascia: Using a plastic trim tool, remove the fascia and bumper beam assembly starting at the outer edges near wheel wells while gently pulling rearward on the fascia.
Disconnect the wiring harness, located near driver side taillight.
5. Disassemble Fascia –
a) Remove signal lights: Remove (4) phillips screws, unhook electrical connection, disengage retention clip. Set lamp assembly aside. Repeat on other side of vehicle.
b) Remove center section: Disengage retention clips around perimeter of fascia center section. Set fascia section aside.
c) Remove support brackets: Using a phillips head screw driver and flat head screwdriver, remove screw and push pin rivet from fascia support bracket. Remove (3) plastic fascia
support brackets from bumper beam and return to vehicle owner.
6. Trim Fascia –On underside of fascia, measure between outer support bracket holes. Mark center of fascia. Mark 3” wide section centered on the center line of fascia. Mark 5” long section
perpendicular to edge of fascia. Trim marked section from fascia to give clearance for the receiver tube of the hitch. (See Figure 3)
Note: Do not use middle support bracket hole for measurement, hole is not centered in fascia.
7. Reassemble Fascia –Reinstall center section of fascia and signal lights removed in Step 5.
8. Fish Wire –Attach items jand kto item nand insert in access hole in vehicle frame, follow the instructions in Figure 2. Leave item nattached until the hitch is raised into position.
Note: If plastic caps are covering the access hole remove and return to vehicle owner.
9. Install Hitch –Raise hitch into position, be careful not to push the hardware into the frame. Remove item nand attach item land hand tighten item mto item j.
Note: Conical washer can be used to hold bolt in place while removing fish wire and installing hex nut.
Note: Use second person or jack to steady hitch while lifting into position and hold until all bolts are installed.
10. Install Fascia and Bumper Assembly –Using alignment pins in bumper as a guide, reinstall fascia and bumper assembly onto vehicle. Hand tighten bolts to hold bumper and hitch in place. Align
and re-engage all clips. Reinstall all screws and push pin rivets removed from fascia.
a) USA built models: Secure hitch to vehicle using supplied M10 bolts, item o(2) per side and 7/16” conical washers, item l(teeth side toward hitch).
b) Korean built models: Secure hitch to vehicle using supplied M8 bolts, item p(2) per side and 3/8” conical washers, item q(teeth side toward hitch).
Note: Use second person or jack to steady hitch while lifting into position and hold until all bolts are installed.
11. Torque Fasteners –Tighten all M8 fasteners to 27 Lb-Ft. (37 N*M), all M10 fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M), and all 7/16 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
12. Install Cable Ties –Insert cable ties through holes in underside of fascia previously used by support brackets, wrap cable ties around hitch tube. Tighten cable ties and trim excess.
13. Raise Exhaust –Raise exhaust into position by reattaching the rubber isolators to the hangers.
14. Replace Underbody Panel –Reinstall nuts and pushpins removed in Step 2.
15. Reinstall Taillights –Install taillights in reverse order of Step 1.
Note: Ensure filler panel is properly installed on each taillight before installing onto vehicle.

passenger side rear tire, (1) located by driver side rear tire.
4. (D). Bumper Fasteners –Using a 12mm socket, remove (2) bolts
holding bumper beam to end panel. Repeat on other side of
vehicle. Return bolts to vehicle owner.

5. (B). Remove Center Section –Disengage retention clips around
perimeter of fascia center section. Set fascia section aside.
5. (C). Remove Support Brackets –Using a phillips head screw driver and
trim tool, remove screw and push pin rivet from fascia support
bracket. Remove (3) plastic fascia support brackets from bumper beam
and return to vehicle owner.
5. (A). Disassemble Fascia –Remove signal lights: Remove (4) phillips
screws, unhook electrical connection, disengage retention clip. Set
lamp assembly aside. Repeat on other side of vehicle.

4. (E). Unclip Fascia –Using a plastic trim tool, remove the fascia and
bumper beam assembly starting at the outer edges near wheel wells
while gently pulling rearward on the fascia. Disconnect the wiring
harness, located near driver side taillight.

lights removed in Step 5.
6. Trim Fascia –On underside of fascia, measure between outer
support bracket holes to find center of fascia. Mark center of fascia.
Mark 3” wide section centered on the center line of fascia. Mark 5”
long section perpendicular to edge of fascia. Trim marked section
from fascia to give clearance for the receiver tube of the hitch (See
Figure 3).

11. Torque Fasteners –Tighten all M8 fasteners to 27 Lb-Ft. (37
N*M), all M10 fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M), and all 7/16
fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle
when towing.
12. Install Cable Ties –Insert cable ties through holes in underside of
fascia previously used by support brackets, wrap cable ties around
hitch tube. Tighten cable ties and trim excess.
10. Install Fascia and Bumper Assembly –Using alignment pins in bumper as a guide,
reinstall fascia and bumper assembly onto vehicle. Hand tighten bolts to hold
bumper and hitch in place. Align and re-engage all clips. Reinstall all screws and
push pin rivets removed from fascia.
a) USA built models: Secure hitch to vehicle using supplied M10 bolts,
item o(2) per side and 7/16” conical washers, item l(teeth side
toward hitch).
b) Korean built models: Secure hitch to vehicle using supplied M8 bolts,
item p(2) per side and 3/8” conical washers, item q(teeth side
toward hitch).
Note: Use second person or jack to steady hitch while lifting into position
and hold until all bolts are installed.

13. Raise Exhaust –Raise exhaust into position by reattaching the
rubber isolators to the hangers.

14. Replace Underbody Cover –Reinstall nuts and pushpins removed in
Step 2.
15. Reinstall Taillights –Install taillights in reverse order of Step 1.
Note: Ensure filler panel is properly installed on each taillight before
installing onto vehicle.

1. Remove Underbody Panel –Using a 10mm socket and flat head screwdriver, remove (4) hex nuts and (3) push pin rivets from underbody panel on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
2. Remove Taillights –Open liftgate. Remove small access panel from behind taillights. Using a 10mm socket, remove (4) hex nuts that secure taillights, both sides. Unplug the wiring
and remove the taillights by gently pulling rearward.
3. Remove Fascia and Bumper Beam Assembly –
a) Remove (1) push pin rivet and (1) phillips head screw from fascia under taillight area, both sides.
b) Using a phillips head screw driver, remove (3) screws from wheel well liner and fascia, both sides.
c) Using a 12mm socket, remove (2) M8 bolts holding bumper beam to end panel, both sides. Return existing M8 bolts to vehicle owner.
d) Using a plastic trim tool, remove the fascia and bumper beam assembly starting at the outer edges near wheel wells while gently pulling rearward on the fascia.
Disconnect the wiring harness from fascia if present.
4. Remove Lower fascia from Upper fascia –Using a flat head screw driver, remove (2) push pin rivets from bottom edge of fascia, (1) per side. Using a plastic trim tool, unclip all tabs
from lower fascia.
Note: Lift the foam piece above the bumper beam to gain access to some of the tabs.
5. Remove Support Brackets –Using a phillips head screw driver, remove (2) plastic fascia support brackets from bumper beam and return to vehicle owner.
6. Reinstall Upper fascia –Reinstall Upper fascia and bumper beam assembly to vehicle. Be sure to reconnect all wiring.
7. Modify Heat Shield –Bend edge of heat shield down near exhaust hanger area to allow hitch side arm to sit flat against bottom of frame on passenger side.
Note: Check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C.

8. Install Hitch –Tape spacer blocks (item 9) to end panel aligning holes in blocks with weldnuts in bumper beam. Raise hitch into position and loosely install (4) M8 bolts and 3/8”
conical washers supplied, (2) per side. See Figure 1. Using a ½” drill bit and the hitch as a template, drill a ½” hole in bottom of frame at center of slot in hitch, both sides. Remove
rubber plug from forward access hole in bottom of frame, (1) per side. Feed coiled end of fishwire through drilled hole and out of forward access hole. Attach 7/16” carriage bolt and
¼” spacer block to fishwire and pull fasteners into position, both sides. See Figure 2. Loosely install the 7/16” conical washers and hex nuts onto carriage bolts, (2) places. Tighten all
fasteners to specifications below.
Tighten all M8-1.25 CL10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 27 Lb.-Ft. (37 N*M)
Tighten all 7/16-14 fasteners with torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M)

9. Trim Lower Fascia –Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, cut a 5” wide X 3” deep notch in the bottom center of fascia. See Figure 3. Using a utility knife, carefully remove
the (2) raised areas, used to connect plastic support brackets, flush to inside surface of lower fascia. See Figure 4.
10. Reinstall Lower Fascia –Reinstall lower fascia aligning tabs in lower fascia with upper fascia and snap into place.
11. Reinstall Taillights and Wiring –Using the original hardware, reinstall taillights and reconnect wiring. Reinstall small access panels.
12. Install Cable Ties –Measure 13” from center of vehicle and 2-1/4” from forward edge of lower fascia and drill a ¼” hole through fascia. Install cable tie (item 10) through hole,
around hitch crosstube, and tighten cable tie. Trim excess length from cable tie. Both sides. See Figure 3.
13. Reinstall Underbody Panel –Using original fasteners removed in step 1.

1. Remove Underbody Panel –Using a 10mm socket and flat head
screwdriver, remove (4) hex nuts and (3) push pin rivets from underbody

socket, remove (2) M8 bolts holding bumper beam to end panel,
both sides. Return existing M8 bolts to vehicle owner.

trim tool, remove the fascia and bumper beam assembly starting
at the outer edges near wheel wells while gently pulling rearward
on the fascia. Disconnect the wiring harness from fascia if present.
4. Remove Lower Fascia from Upper Fascia –Using a flat head screw driver,
remove (2) push pin rivets from bottom edge of fascia, (1) per side. Using
a plastic trim tool, unclip all tabs from lower fascia.
Note: Lift the foam piece above the bumper beam to gain access to
some of the tabs.
5. Remove Support Brackets –Using a phillips head screw driver,
remove (2) plastic fascia support brackets from bumper beam and
return to vehicle owner.

from forward edge of lower fascia and drill a ¼” hole through
fascia. Install cable tie (item 10) through hole, around hitch
crosstube, and tighten cable tie. Trim excess length from cable tie.
