underthiswarrantyshallbelimitedtotherepairorexchangeofanypartorpartswhichmayprovedefectiveundernormal
useandservicewithintwo(2)yearsfromthedateofmanufactureoreighteen(18)monthsfromthedateofinstallationby
theoriginalpurchaserwhicheveroccursfirst,suchdefecttobedisclosedtothesatisfactionofHE-APGafterexamination

Mounting Requirements
Oncethepaneldesignhasbeencompletedusingthecriteriaandsuggestionsinthefollowingsections,usethefol-
lowingstepstopanelmounttheEXL6&XL6PrimeOCS.
1. RemoveallconnectorsfromtheEXL6&XL6PrimeOCSunit.
2. MakesurethegasketisinstalledontheEXL6&XL6PrimeOCSandisfreefromdustanddebris.Checkthat
thecornersofthegasketaresecure.
3. Passtheunitthroughthepanel.
4. Inserttheeachofthefour(4)mountingclipsintotheslotsintheEXL6&XL6PrimeOCScase.Oneclip
shouldbeinstalledoneachcorner.Lightlytighteneachscrewsotheclipisheldinplace.
5. Tightenthescrewsontheclipssuchthatthegasketiscompressedagainstthepanel.Recommendedtorque
is4-8in-lbs(0.45–0.90N-m).

nTheEXL6/XL6PRIMEutilizesaclipinstallationmethodtoensurearobustandwatertightsealtotheenclos-
ure.Pleasefollowthestepsbelowfortheproperinstallationandoperationoftheunit.
nThisequipmentissuitableforClassI,Division2,GroupsA,B,CandDornon-hazardouslocationsonly.
nDigitaloutputsshallbesuppliedfromthesamesourceastheoperatorcontrolstation.
nJumpersonconnectorJP1shallnotberemovedorreplacedwhilethecircuitisliveunlesstheareaisknown
tobefreeofignitableconcentrationsofflammablegasesorvapors.
1. CarefullylocateanappropriateplacetomounttheEXL6/XL6PRIME.Besuretoleaveenoughroomatthe
topoftheunitforinsertionandremovalofthemicroSD™card.
2. Carefullycutthehostpanelperthediagram,creatinga131.9mmx175.0mm,witha+1mm/-0mmopening
intowhichtheEXL6/XL6PRIMEmaybeinstalled.Iftheopeningistoolarge,watermayleakintotheenclos-
ure,potentiallydamagingtheunit.Iftheopeningistoosmall,theOCSmaynotfitthroughtheholewithout
damage.
3. Removeanyburrsandorsharpedgesandensurethepanelisnotwarpedinthecuttingprocess.
4. RemoveallRemovableTerminalsfromtheEXL6/XL6PRIME.InserttheEXL6/XL6PRIMEthroughthe
panelcutout(fromthefront).ThegasketmustbebetweenthehostpanelandtheEXL6/XL6PRIME.
5. Installandtightenthefourmountingclips(providedinthebox)untilthegasketformsatightsealNOTE:Max
torqueis0.8to1.13Nm,or7to10in-lbs.
6. ReinstalltheEXL6/XL6PRIMEI/ORemovableTerminalBlocks.Connectcommunicationscablestothe
serialport,USBports,Ethernetport,andCANportasrequired.
