Short Description
WiFi HD CarKey Dummy Remote Control Spy Camera is available to order online or simply

delivery. Ideal nanny cam, handheld spy camera or miniature body worn camera. This new
miniature WiFi spy camera is simply remarkable.
Hidden Camera Surveillance WiFi 1080P spy CarKey remote control looks like a standard car
remote control but it’s really a remarkable piece of engineering. Who thinks of these things?
What looks like any normal car key remote is really a dummy CarKey or car remote control
which conceals unbelievable technology. Live view, listen and record in HD 1080P quality
exactly what the dummy remote-control CarKey can see directly on your mobile phone or
concealed micro memory card…are you kidding me?
Description
Pictured below is our new Hidden Camera Surveillance dummy car-key remote control spy
camera. All camera functions are controlled directly through your mobile phone App via local
P2P or remote WiFi. Live view the camera from your smart phone or PC from anywhere in the
world. Even receive mobile phone push alerts when motion is detected. However, even if you
are not connected to WiFi, the local P2P (peer to peer) allows the user to view and access this
spy camera on any smart phone provided the hidden cam is within wireless range of your
phone, similar to Bluetooth but in this called P2P.
What makes this Hidden security spy camera different from so many others? If someone were
to pick up this dummy remote control and closely examine it (perhaps that person is a bit sus)
there’s no reasonto suspectit’s anything other than agenuine car remote. The pinhole camera
is so small and concealed, even with a magnifying glass, it won’t be found.
To make the WiFi HD Spy CarKey Remote Control Camera even more discreet, attach a bunch
of real keys to it. Hold it in your hand as most do or simply lay the keys on a table and record
audio and video to the concealed internal micro-SD memory card (optional) anywhere from
16GB to a huge 128GB capacity. Everyone carries car keys so what could be better hidden?
It’s important from a customer’s point of view not to be paranoid or concerned. You know what
it is but no one else will.

2
Typical Scenario
Let’s say you are due to have a conversation with a person or several people, and who said or
did what during that conversation, could be important. Perhaps an ex-spouse, employer, or
employee, DVO breach, someone stealing etc, the implications are endless. The fact is you
need video and/or audio evidence to prove your case and this could be just what you need.
The recording is also genuine with the exact time and date stamp watermarked onto the
recording. The CarKey spy camera automatically takes the time and date from your mobile
phone with no need to manually set it.
There are various means of recording and just to explain, the camera is the recorder.
Concealed within the dummy CarKey spy camera is a micro-SD Class 10 memory card. Open
thecamera settings on your mobilephone andchoose whetherto activate Constant Recording,
Motion detection Recording or Scheduled recording.
The great thing about this camera is you DON’T need to be in a WiFi zone to record. For
instance, you may be sitting on a park bench where no WiFi is available. However, the camera
can still wirelessly communicate with your mobile phone in local P2P mode. Similar in some
ways to Bluetooth but in this instance called P2P. That means you have live control over the
hidden spy camera directly from your mobile phone. Whilst the optional SD memory card is
slotted into and concealed within the camera casing, you could in effect record directly to your
phone memory thus bypassing the camera SD card.
If on the other hand you’re at home or the office and you know your WiFi password, now you
have live access to the camera from anywhere in the world, provided the car-key hidden
camera remains in range if the router. This allows you to view both locally and remotely. In
other words, with the camera in a WiFi zone, even if you’re 50ks away, login to the camera live
on the 4G cellular network or WiFi whatever you prefer. Only the username and password
authorised user can access the camera.
When in use the camera has a power battery capacity of around 1 to 1.5 hours. However, it
can be connected to power for a more permanent use. Connecting to power will also charge
the battery. Please note this is NOT a CCTV camera and therefore should not be left
unattended and powered indefinitely. If you don’t have power available but need the camera
to be powered longer term, we do have an optional USB Power Bank which will power the
camera all day on one charge so there are plenty of battery and other powering options.
Hidden Camera Surveillance (HCS) also offers its customer only, not just easy to understand
instructions with pictures but also a no extra cost Australian 5V USB power supply. This mini
power supply can recharge the camera battery but also power the CarKey camera whilst being
charged.

3
Obviously, one would not hand hold the camera when connected to power, it would look silly
to have a remote control connected to a power point. However, The CarKey camera is so
small it’s very easy to hide and be powered if preferred.
If setting the dummy CarKey spy camera to Motion Detection mode, this is the best means to
conserve memory card capacity. Motion detection mode doesn’t conserve battery power, only
SD card memory which also makes for easier motion event searching.
When motion is detected, you select how long you want the camera to record each time it
senses motion. That could be 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes but we suggest 1 minute. If a
person walks past the camera it will record for 1 minute, then stop recording. If on the other
hand someone walked past the camera then came into the motion zone again and again, the
dummy car-key spy camera will basically continuously record anyway and save those
recording to memory in 1-minute increments or events. Each video clip will be 1 minute long
allowing you to look at those time date stamped events locally or remotely, playback in real
time with audio and/or save any desired recording to your mobile phone or PC.
Customers also ask what happens when the SD card is full. The dummy CarKey spy camera
app allows the user to select LOOP recording or STOP recording when full. Loop recording
basically means when the SD card is full, it will slowly overwrite commencing at the oldest
recording date and it will do that repeatedly. It doesn’t wipe or format all memory from the card
and start again, it’s simply overwriting from the earliest date.
If you have any concerns that the camera may overwrite an important event recording, then
select stop recording when full.
Scheduled Recording is another smart dummy CarKey spy camera option. The app settings
allow the authorised user to arm and disarm the camera between certain times. For example,
if the camera was hidden somewhere, it’s possible to auto activate the camera at 7.00am and
disarm at 4.00pm on a daily or weekly basis. It’s actually very intelligent for what it is. If
constant recording is active, the camera will record nonstop for 9 hours otherwise only record
upon motion during that time span.
How fast will it use my SD card memory when recording?
This is the key and there are many factors to take into consideration including the set resolution
or recording quality as this camera also supports UHD. For each minute of recording at
standard HD it will consume about 7MB of SD memory per minute which is amazing. 1GB =
1000MB or 142 minutes of recording per GB. In this regard a 32GB SD card can store about
75 hours of video. If higher resolution is required then yes it will use memory at faster rate so
in those circumstances, perhaps it wise to select a larger 64 or 128GB memory card.

How does it work?
Spy security cameras are commonly designed to discreetly monitor a specific zone. You may
wish to keep an eye on valued goods and belongings. Is the cleaner suspected of being
potentially light fingered? It may be that you have a co-worker or nanny suspected of stealing.
Perhaps when a child is being minded, it’s peace of mind if nothing else to know the child is
being well treated.
The reasons for needing a hidden camera are endless but the point is, even if this device
doesn’t suit your needs, we do have a range of other WiFi and DVR spy cameras that work in
a similar fashion but look completely different. Hidden Camera Surveillance even has DIY
Hidden Cameras that can be hidden in home items of your choice. If you feel that introducing
something new into the home or office could potentially arouse suspicion, our DIY spy cameras
could be the answer as YOU then hide the camera in a device of your choice.
What’s the difference between a WiFi & DVR Hidden Camera?
There is a fundamental difference between this Car-Key HD WiFi Spy Camera and a similar
albeit cheaper DVR Car-Key spy camera.

5
HCS offers both camera options but to briefly explain, a DVR hidden camera is armed and
disarmed with the push of a button. Uses will normally feel a short vibration on and a double
short vibration off. This enables the camera to be switched on/off and stop/start recording by
simply pressing a button whilst being hand held. A DVR hidden camera on the other hand
doesn’t support remote access and that’s the main difference.
The DVR Carkey Spy Camera looks similar however, to view or playback recordings it’s
necessary to remove the SD card concealed within the camera and replay those video clips
on a PC or MAC with our SD card reader. Both the DVR and WiFi versions of this spy camera
can be powered for long term recording, but the WiFi version supports higher resolution and
optional recording duration. The DVR camera on the other hand is cheaper and perhaps easier
to use. Our WiFi Hidden Camera is significantly more advanced in terms of features and
functions.
The WiFi carkey hidden spy camera requires the authorised user to download a free App. The
App supports both Iphone, Android and PC. Users may view the camera live from anywhere
and/or share with others. Users also have the option to select the desired recording quality
whereas the DVR CarKey Spy Camera will normally have a fixed HD resolution.
Tell me more
Our WiFi CarKey Spy Camera has a range of recording options including Scheduled recording,
Constant Recording or Motion Detection recording. It’s important to understand even if motion
detection recording is active and the camera is armed or switched on, it’s still using battery
power regardless of whether it’s recording or not so do switch the camera off when not in use
or not recording. Live remote viewing will also have a bearing on battery capacity.
With live local P2P or WiFi mobile phone camera access, the user can see live camera video
directly to any App linked smart phone. In other words, see and hear what the camera can
see and hear. Depending on network upload and download speed, the video and audio can
be slow, jerky or even drop out at times. This is NOT a camera fault as the same applies to all
wireless devices of this nature.
For that reason, if using an optional SD memory card, the camera will record audio and video
in real time. To view the actual SD card recording in real time, it’s sometimes necessary to
download video clips to PC or phone and save those recordings. Once saved the playback is
in real time with audio in sync.
An SD card isn’t essential, but users can only live view or record to mobile phone memory
when that phone is in an active live viewing camera mode. With an SD card in the camera
device, regardless of any network connection, it will still record to the internal SD card memory
card anytime.
Camera App functions include.
•Scheduled recording means the camera can be set toarm and record at pre-set times.
•Motion detection recording mode
•Constant recording mode
•Receive motion alerts when the camera is in WiFi mode.

•Unique Username and password protection
•Scene switching mode from Half screen to Full screen mode
•Take Screenshots
•Image mirror and flip
•Switch the camera on/off
•SD memory card remote playback and download
•Camera SD card formatting
•Auto recycle recording when SD card is full

6
How does motion detection record work?
The App allows the authorised user (camera access can be shared) to select motion detection
on or off. If this feature is armed, each time the camera detects motion up 6m away, it will
record in real time non-stop including audio for a pre-set period, which could be just a few
seconds or minutes, but your choice. This is commonly referred to as Alarm or Alert recording.
It also allows the authorised user to search recordings by time and date or by time or by alert.
If motion continues beyond a certain time frame, the camera will continue to record until motion
ceases anyway.
Furthermore, if desired and with the camera in WiFi mode (not P2P mode) user/s can receive
mobile phone motion push alerts. By clicking on the alert either locally or remotely, playback
and permanently save any recording without the need to search.
If Constant Recording is preferred over motion detection, the device will constantly record
when armed and stop recording when disarmed. The downside to constant recording is local
or remote playback. A constant recording is a much larger data file so locally or remotely
downloading that file could be difficult or take some time. To view constant recording files, best
to switch the camera off, remove the SD card and connect it into PC USB using an SD card
reader.
The internal camera battery can be recharged from PC USB or we will supply (no extra cost)
a 5V USB Australian power supply. Please note the power supply will charge the battery and
if connected to power (mini-USB lead supplied) the spy CarKey cam will function on power
long term as mentioned previously. Perhaps not wise to leave the camera constantly
connected to power but ideal for longer term recording. Please note this device is not a security
camera it’s a spy camera first and foremost and should be treated as such.
What’s the difference between P2P & WiFi Modes?
This camera supports both P2P & WiFi and just to explain the basic difference, P2P (peer-to-
peer) is a local transmission between a smart phone and the camera. Like Bluetooth, the
camera must be within a certain range of the mobile phone. The two devices connect to one
another (found in the phone WiFi settings) so users will see the camera UID or identification
number in the phone WiFi settings.
To access the camera, you must first download the free App. When the two devices are
handshake connected, users can view and control the camera in local P2P mode, playback
recording and change settings. However, if the two devices become obscured by walls,
distance or other obstacles, the wireless connection may drop out or disconnect. This is
referred to as local or LAN access.
The camera can of course record to internal memory even if P2P or WiFi are disconnected,
provided the camera is on and armed. Users have the option to both view and record directly
to their mobile phone if desired, but the user must be in live viewing mode at the time.

7
As mentioned, the Spy Carkey Hidden Camera also supports WiFi. The App settings refer to
WiFi setup and Hidden Camera Surveillance will supply its customers only with a detailed
instruction manual including screen shots demonstrating how most camera functions work.
Each camera is supplied with standard instructions, but Hidden Camera Surveillance offers a
personally drafted user manual for a much easier setup experience.
To use the WiFi access function, the camera must be within range of a WiFi network and the
authorised user must know the WiFi router password. The router must be set to 2.4Ghz
frequency as cameras of this nature do NOT support the 5Ghz range. Often when looking at
phone WiFi settings, the router may provide for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz so select 2.4Ghz. If
not, then do ensure the wireless router is set to 2.4Ghz frequency.
The App will ask to select your router and your WiFi network password. Input the password
then save. The camera will reboot which takes a minute or two so the next time the authorised
users logs into the camera, it will be in remote WiFi mode.
In this case the camera must remain in wireless range of the router. If the camera is moved
away from the wireless router range, the network will drop out. Assuming the camera remains
in close router range, the user may access the hidden spy camera from pretty much anywhere
in the world.
Login to the camera App from either another WiFi network or via a cellular 3/4G mobile
network.
Other than me, can anyone see the camera?
It’s a question often asked and rightly so. In short, the answer is no. When entering a shop,
home, or office, often your phone will depict a range of wireless routers. Other than your
personal router, all other routers are private and can’t be accessed for security reasons hence
the password access.
In this regard, when the camera is switched on, after a minute or so, you will see a UIDnumber
appear in the mobile phone WiFi settings. The UID doesn’t refer to a camera or anything of
that nature. It’s simply a series of letters and numbers which won’t mean anything to others.
For example, the UID would look similar to HDCAM-27593t49. To any other person who just
happens to see it on their phone or PC WiFi settings, this UID number could be a neighbour’s
router however, clicking on the UID won’t do anything for an unauthorised user. First, the
authorised user requires the correct App and password access etc so it’s not easy for any other
unauthorised person and certainly won’t arouse suspicion.
