Precautions
1. Attention to the electric shock. The electrodes (needle parts) have high voltage.
● This is not a waterproof equipment. Do not use in a wet place or where it is
easy to get wet. It accompanies an insulation problem which causes a fire or an
electric shock.
● Be sure to put off the power when cleaning the unit.
Do not touch the plug with wet hands. This could cause a shock.
2. Do not use anything other than the accessory Ac power adapter to connect this
unit to the power supply. The specified power source is 100 to 240 Vac (50/60Hz).
Operating with the wrong power source causes a fire or a burning.
3. Pay attention to the working condition.
Do not use it at the place where it is affected by abnormal vibration, corrosive gas,
inflammable gas or dust.
There is a possibility of an explosion, a fire or an electric shock.
4. Pay attention not to allow to suck things from the air intake of the back. Do not fill
the intake with things.
5. Do not use in a state of removing the grille.
Warning
2
Warning and caution symbols
These symbols are used throughout the instruction manual to alert the user to potential
safety hazards as follows :
Warning …Notice when incorrect handling could cause the user's death or serious
injury.
Caution …Notice when incorrect handling could cause injury to the user or material
damage.
Even if the instructions do not have Caution mark, there are some possibilities for
a serious situation. Follow the instructions.
1. Do not disassemble the station. As the high voltage circuit is included inside, this
could cause a shock.
2. Keep a daily care to maintain a good effect of removing static electricity.
● It is suggested to have regular cleaning of the electrode to maintain a good
effect to remove electricity for long. (Refer to P4)
● In case of deterioration of unit performance, the electrode must be replaced.
Ask your HOZAN dealer.
3. Do not handle the power cord roughly.
● Do not carry the unit by cable or yank it to disconnect from the wall outlet.
● Do not put the cable near to the heat, oil or any sharp edge. There is a
possibility of getting an electric shock or short circuit and cause a fire.
4. During operation, especially when using high level output, there may be a
slightest smell of ozone. This is not bad for the human body. However, do not
inhale it directly, for the cleaning filter is not installed in this unit.
Caution

3
Operation
Place on a stable horizontal surface.
1
2 Adjust the angle so that the outlet port aim the objective to be discharged.
Adjust the distance against the object referring “Efficiency of neutralization” on page 6.
3 Make sure that the power switch of the main unit is in the OFF position. Connect the
accessory ac power adapter to the dc jack of the main unit, and then insert the other
end of the ac power adapter into a properly rated power outlet. Convert the plug if it
is not adapted to the outlet.
4 Turn the air control knob clockwise until a click is heard. The unit will then turn on
and the fan will operate. (The power lamp will illuminate.)
5 Turn the air control knob further to adjust the air speed to the desired speed.
6 It is dissipated the moment ion blow hits the object.
Adjusting the angle
Tighten the knobs after adjusting the angle of the
main unit.
2
Adjust the angle of the main unit if necessary in the procedures below.
Loosen the angle set knobs, right and left, turning
counterclockwise.
Do not loosen the knobs excessively. The main unit
could be fallen down from the stand.

Dairy care
4
Care of the electrodes
Charge dissipation performance could reduce when the electrodes are covered with oil,
soot or dust. Clean the electrodes periodically.
[Criterion for checking efficiency of neutralization]
If it needs 20 seconds or more for reduction from ±1000V to ±100V, that apparatus
does not function as an ionizer. Investigate using a charge plate monitor.
Turn the power switch off and pull the plug out.
1
2
Clean the electrodes once a week. Check the electrodes once every six months.
Replace the electrodes if only cleaning the electrodes is not effective.
Care the electrodes taking 10 minutes or more after turning the power switch off, since
they keep high voltage for a while.
Warning
Four electrodes
Using an applicator with IPA, clean the elec-
trodes.
* The grille must not be removed when cleaning.
[Criterion for checking abrasion of electrodes]
New electrodes have sharp points like a sewing needle. Exchange to new electrodes if
the points have become to like a ball-point.

3 Draw the existing electrodes.
While depressing the part where the electrodes
are planted, draw the electrodes using pliers.
Work carefully not to fly the electrodes.
Insert new electrodes until snug.
Securely insert with pliers.
4
1 Turn the power switch off and pull the plug out.
Leave the unit as it is for 10 minutes or more.
Return the grille.
5
2 Using a Phillips type screwdriver No.2, loosen
the four screws to remove the grille.

Antistatic standards
HOZAN’s ESD-safe products are controlled with reference to the Japanese standard (RCJS-5
-1*) which is based on the international standard (IEC61340-5-1).
Products which bear the “ “ mark are products to which the standard values (see table
below) apply. The “ESD Standard” listed on each of the product pages denote the HOZAN
standard for the product.
