Oracle Parallel Server Configuration Guide

Introduction
This document defines the supported HP NetServer LXr Pro configuration for Oracle Parallel Server. This
configuration minimizes single points of failure, provides maximum availability, and has been certified by
Hewlett-Packard and Oracle. This guide is prescriptive; it describes the HP NetServer LXr Pro
configuration supported by HP. Any configuration not expressly allowed by this guide will not be
supported by HP.

Cluster
Type of SPUs HP NetServer LXr Pro Model 1
Each node must be the same model SPU, but may have different size main
memory, cache, and number of CPUs (at least 2 are required).
Number of nodes 2-4
Shared Storage HP AutoRAID Model 12H. See Shared Storage below.
LANs:
Public LAN Any NIC that is HP approved. See Client LAN below.
Intra-cluster
(Private) LAN HP D5013A. See Intra-cluster LAN below.
Power source Direct from power mains, power conditioner or uninterruptible power
supply (UPS) using any power conditioner or UPS.
System software: Oracle 8.0.4.1.4

Navigator version G.01.00 or later
Operating System Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Enterprise Edition or later
Service pack SP3 and TCP/IP patches.
