Readthis section before replacing any components.
WARNING Foryoursafety,neverremovethePC’scoverwithoutfirstremovingthepower
cord fromthe power outlet, and any connection to a telecommunication
network. Always replace the cover before switching the PC on again.
CAUTION Static electricity can damage electronic components.
Turnall equipment OFF. Don’t let your clothes touch the accessory.
To equalize the static electricity, rest the accessory bag on top of the PC while
you are removing the accessory from the bag. Handle the accessory as little as
possible and with care.

network. Always replace the cover before switching on the PC again.
Removing the Cover
1Switch off the display and the PC.
2Disconnect all power cords and any telecommunications cables.
3Unscrew the three thumb screws at the back of the PC. If it is the
first time you are removing the cover, you will probably need to use
a screwdriver to loosen the screws.
4WhilestandingatthebackofthePC,slidethecovertowardsyouand
then lift off the PC chassis.

1Make sure that you have installed all your accessories and that all
internal cables are properly connected and safely routed.
2aStanding at the back of the PC, lower the cover onto the
PC chassis (aligning the rails on the inside edges of the
cover with the sides of the PC chassis), and firmly slide the cover
forwards into position.
bLower the cover onto the PC chassis and slide it into
position. Make sure that the two guides at the bottom of
the cover slide into the two rails at the base of the chassis,
and that the guides at the front of the cover slide into the rails at
the front of the chassis.
3Tighten the three thumb screws at the back of the PC.
4Reconnect all cables and power cords.

1Remove the computer’s cover (page 3).
2Remove the Front Bezel:
aDisconnect the power and data cables from the rear of the floppy
disk drive and hard disk drive(s).
bRemove the two retaining screws from the floppy disk/hard disk
drive tray, and then carefully lift the tray from the PC. Place the
tray on a table/desk top.
cUnclip the front bezel and gently remove it from the chassis.
3Remove the Status Panel:
aDisconnect the status panel cable from the system board.
bPush inwards on both sides of the status panel, then pull away
from the chassis.

4Replace the Status Panel:
aInsert the status panel cable through the opening and then under
floppydisk/harddiskdrivetraysupport.Connectthestatuspanel
cable to the ‘Front Cable Connector’ on the system board.
bEnsure that the status panel is positioned the right way up.
cAlign the two notches of the status panel with their
corresponding slits in the chassis. Push inwards on both sides of
the status panel, then forwards until it slots into place.
5Replace the front bezel.
6Carefully put the floppy disk drive/hard disk drive tray back into the
PC, and secure it in position using the two retaining screws you
removed earlier. Reconnect the power and data cables to the floppy
disk drive and hard disk drive(s).
7Installanyotheraccessories.Replacethecover(page4).Reconnect
all cables and power cords.

1Remove the computer’s cover (page 3).
2Remove the Front Bezel:
aMove the computer to the edge of a table, so that there is enough
room to place your hand under the front bezel.
bStandinginfrontofthePC,placeonehandontopofthebezeland
the other hand under the base of the bezel. Then carefully lever
it away from the chassis.
3Remove the Status Panel:
aDisconnect the status panel cable from the system board.
bFrom the top of the status panel, carefully push down until it
comes free of the chassis. Then from the bottom of the status
panelpushupwardsuntilbecomesfree,thenpullthestatuspanel
away from the chassis.

4Replace the Status Panel:

to the ‘Front Cable Connector’ on the system board.
bEnsure that the status panel is positioned the right way up.
cAlign the bottom two notches of the status panel with their
corresponding slits in the chassis, and then push into place.
dCarefully push down on top of the status panel, then push into
position.
5Replace the front bezel and cover. Reconnect all cables and power
cords.

3Insert the new memory module(aligning it) and close the two tabs.

1Remove the computer’s cover (page 3).
2Remove any cables connected to the accessory board.
3Remove the screw that holds the old board in place.
4Hold the old board firmly and carefully pull it out.
5Aligning the new board carefully, slide it into position,
then press it firmly into the slot and tighten the
retaining screw.
6The accessory board may need a special connection, such as:
aNetwork cable to the WOL (Wake On Lan) connector.
bSound cable to the CD-ROM drive.
7Replace thecover (page 4).
