For Your Information You must install an operating system before you can use your new
HP Vectra XW Personal Workstation. This document explains how to
install Windows NT 3.51 WS.
You will find all necessary drivers on the HP Vectra XU/XW Drivers
and Documentation CD-ROM. The latest versions of all the drivers
(and the corresponding installation notes) can be obtained from the
HP BBS and from the HP Access World Wide Web page.
1. Basic Installation
First install Windows NT without network functionality and in VGA
mode. Once you have Windows NT up and running, refer to step 2 for
an explanation of how to install full functionality with OpenGL graphic
acceleration, sound, and network drivers, and how to obtain best
stability and performance with HP provided and qualified drivers for
mass storage devices.
Preparing to Install Windows NT
Before installing Windows NT Workstation 3.51 you will need:
•XU/XW Drivers and Documentation CD-ROM
and XW Boot diskette (supplied with your system)
•one blank, formatted, diskette.
You will need to copy some important files (system drivers) from the
CD-ROM to a blank diskette before attempting to install Windows NT:
1Use the MS-DOS DISKCOPY command to make a duplicate copy of
the “XW Boot” diskette onto the blank diskette, then store the
original “XW Boot” diskette in a safe place.
2Label the duplicate diskette: “XW Boot” diskette.
3Insert the duplicate “XW Boot” diskette in your system’s flexible
disk drive and insert the “XU/XW Drivers and Documentation” CD-
ROM disk in the CD-ROM drive.

4Restart your system and press to enter the Setup program.
5In the Setup program, highlight Operating System and select
Windows NT. Press the key to save the setting and exit the Setup
program.
6When your system restarts, it will start (boot) from the inserted
diskette. Follow the displayed instructions to copy the files needed
for an installation of Windows NT.
7Remove the disk and CD-ROM from your computer when the files
have been copied from the CD-ROM disk to the duplicate diskette.
Installing Windows NT
Please refer to the MS Windows NT Workstation 3.51 manual for
detailed explanations about the installation process.
Before installing Windows NT, make sure you have these disks:
•Windows NT Setup disks
(Setup Boot disk, Setup disk #2, and Setup disk #3)
•Windows NT CD-ROM
•Duplicate Boot diskette.
1Insert the Windows NT “Setup Boot Disk” into drive Aand insert the
Windows NT CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. Restart your system.
2Insert “Setup Disk #2” when prompted by the installation program.
3Press to setup Windows NT.
4Press to select the
Express Setup.
NOTE If you are installing the US English version of Windows NT with a
localized (non-US English) keyboard, you should choose the Custom
Setup. The Custom Setup gives the option of selecting a localized
keyboard.
5Insert “Setup Disk #3” when prompted by the installation program.
6When the installation program reports that the IDE CD-ROM has
been detected as a mass storage device, press Sto specify an
additional device.

7Select Other by pressing . Insert the duplicate Boot disk,
and then press .
8Press to select the displayed Adaptec driver and then press
to continue the installation.
9Remove the duplicate Boot disk and insert the Windows NT “Setup
Disk #3”.
10 Press to install Windows NT from the CD-ROM. Follow the
instructions displayed by the installation program. (Refer to the
Microsoft Windows NT documentation for detailed installation
instructions.)
11 When asked to insert the Adaptec 7800 Family Manager Set driver
diskette, insert the duplicate Boot disk and press to retry.
12 When the files have been copied from the duplicate Boot disk,
remove the disk and press to restart your computer.
13 Follow the instructions displayed by the Windows NT installation
program to continue the installation of Windows NT.
14 When the installation program tries to detect the network adapter,
click Continue, then select Continue in the next dialog box.
15 Select No Network in the Add Network Adapter dialog box, then click OK
to confirm your choice. (The installation of network drivers is
explained in the following section.)
16 Continue the Windows NT installation until a dialog box proposes
the type of display connected to your computer.
17 Click OK to select the VGA Compatible Display, then click OK to save the
configuration.
18 When the installation of Windows NT is complete, click Restart
Computer to restart your computer.

2. Installing the HP Drivers
Windows NT must be fully installed and running on your HP Vectra
before you can install the HP drivers. The drivers are located on the HP
Vectra XU/XW Drivers and Documentation CD-ROM supplied with
your HP Vectra Personal Workstation. (This CD-ROM is referred to as
the HP Drivers CD-ROM in the following instructions.)
NOTE The instructions below assume that drive letter D: is assigned to your
CD-ROM drive.
Installing IDE Mass Storage (CD-ROM) Drivers
1Double-click the Windows NT Setup icon.
2In the Options menu, choose Add/Remove SCSI Adapters.
3Select IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual Channel PCI IDE, click Remove, then
click OK to confirm that you want to remove the adapter.
4Click Add and then click OK.
5Scroll down the list of adapters and select Other.
6Insert the HP Drivers CD-ROM; type D:\IDE\WINNT35 and then
click OK.
7When the next dialog box displays CMD 64xx 32-bit IDE Adapter, click
OK, then click Install.
8Click Continue to confirm the path for the files.
9Close the SCSI Adapter Setup dialog box, then close the Windows NT
Setup window.
10 After the installation, shutdown Windows NT and then restart the
computer.
Enabling Networking after Installation
1In the Control Panel, choose the Network icon.
2Click Yes when the Install Network Now message appears.

3Confirm the proposed setup path, which is the source of the
Windows NT installation files on the Windows NT CD-ROM (for
example, D:\i386).
4Click Continue to install the HP network driver for Windows NT.
To install the driver:
aChoose Do Not Detect to manually select an adapter.
bClick Continue to choose a network adapter.
cIn the list box, choose Other and then select Continue.
dInsert the HP Drivers CD-ROM and specify the location of the
drivers with: D:\LANBT\WINNT.
eSelect the network adapter from the displayed list of adapters.
5The system will continue with the installation. Follow the
instructions displayed by Windows NT to complete the network
driver installation process.
6When prompted by the installation program, click on Restart
Computer.
Detailed technical explanations and information about the network
driver for Windows NT are supplied in a Network Administrator’s Guide
in Windows Help file format on the HP Drivers CD-ROM. The file is
located in \LANBT\DOC\NAG.HLP.
Installing the OpenGL Video Driver
After the basic installation, Windows NT is configured to use a standard
VGA compatible display driver. In order to use the capabilities of the
AccelProT/2500 OpenGL Interface, you must install the HP qualified
OpenGL driver supplied on the HP Drivers CD-ROM.
Detailed installation instructions for the OpenGL driver are supplied in
an OpenGL Configuration Guide in Windows Help file format on the HP
Drivers CD-ROM. Refer to the section “How to ... Install the OpenGL
driver”. The file is located in \OPENGL\DOC\HPOPENGL.HLP.

This guide also contains additional technical information about the
Open GL interface and describes how to configure the drivers for
specific applications.
Installing the Sound driver
To enable the integrated audio interface:
1In the Control Panel, choose the Drivers icon.
2Click on Add.
3Choose Creative Labs Sound Blaster 1.x, Pro, 16 from the list and click OK.
4Insert the Microsoft Windows NT CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
5Confirm the proposed settings in the following dialog box, then click
OK.
NOTE The proposed settings will correspond, by default, with the Audio
Interface settings in the HP Setup program. If an error message appears,
check that the proposed settings are the same as those configured in the
Setup program. Refer to the User’s Guide for more information about
the Setup program.

Zu Ihrer Information Bevor Sie mit Ihrer neuen Personal Workstation HP Vectra XW arbeiten
können, müssen Sie ein Betriebssystem installieren. In der vorliegenden
Dokumentation wird die Installation von Windows NT 3.51 WS
beschrieben.
Alle erforderlichen Treiber befinden sich auf der CD-ROM HP Vectra
XU/XW Drivers and Documentation. Die aktuellsten Versionen
sämtlicher Treiber (sowie die entsprechenden Installationshinweise)
stehen über HP BBS und die HP Access World Wide Web Page zur
Verfügung.
1. Basisinstallation
Installieren Sie Windows NT zuerst ohne Netzwerkfunktionen und im
VGA-Modus. Nachdem Sie Windows NT gestartet haben und das
Betriebssystem aktiv ist, lesen Sie den Abschnitt 2. Dort wird erläutert,
wie Sie sämtliche Funktionen für die OpenGL-Grafikbeschleunigung,
Sound und Netzwerktreiber installieren und die optimale Stabilität und
Leistung mit von HP bereitgestellten und geeigneten Treibern für
Massenspeichergeräte erzielen können.
Vorbereitung der Installation von Windows NT
Für die Installation von Windows NT Workstation 3.51 benötigen Sie:
•CD-ROM XU/XW Drivers and Documentation
und XW Boot-Diskette (im Lieferumfang des Systems enthalten)
•eine leere vorformatierte Diskette.
Vor der Installation von Windows NT müssen Sie einige wichtige
Dateien (Systemtreiber) von der CD-ROM auf eine leere Diskette
kopieren:
1Erstellen Sie mit dem MS-DOS-Befehl DISKCOPY eine Kopie der “XW
Boot”-Diskette auf einer leeren Diskette, und bewahren Sie dann die
“XW Boot”-Diskette an einem sicheren Ort auf.
2Beschriften Sie die Kopie mit: “XW Boot”-Diskette.

3Legen Sie die Kopie der “XW Boot”-Diskette im Diskettenlaufwerk
Ihrer Personal Workstation ein, und legen Sie die CD-ROM “XU/XW
Drivers and Documentation” im CD-ROM-Laufwerk ein.
4Starten Sie Ihre Personal Workstation neu, und drücken Sie die
Taste , um das Setup-Programm aufzurufen.
5Markieren Sie im Setup-Programm die Option Operating System,
und wählen Sie Windows NT. Drücken Sie die Taste , um die
Einstellung zu speichern und das Setup-Programm zu beenden.
6Den Neustart führt Ihr System von der eingelegten Diskette durch.
Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, um die für eine
Installation von Windows NT benötigten Dateien zu kopieren.
7Nehmen Sie die Diskette und die CD-ROM aus den Laufwerken Ihres
Computers, wenn die Dateien von der CD-ROM auf die Kopie-
Diskette kopiert wurden.
Installieren von Windows NT
Detaillierte Erläuterungen zum Installationsvorgang finden Sie im
Handbuch zu MS Windows NT Workstation 3.51.
Achten Sie darauf, daß Ihnen vor der Installation von Windows NT
folgende Datenträger vorliegen:
•Windows NT-Setup-Disketten
(Setup-Bootdiskette, Setup-Diskette Nr. 2 und Setup-Diskette Nr. 3)
•Windows NT CD-ROM
•Kopie der Boot-Diskette
1Legen Sie die Windows NT “Setup-Bootdiskette” in Laufwerk Aein,
und legen Sie die Windows NT CD-ROM im CD-ROM-Laufwerk ein.
Starten Sie Ihre Personal Workstation neu.
2Legen Sie die “Setup-Diskette #2” ein, wenn Sie dazu vom
Installationsprogramm aufgefordert werden.
3Drücken Sie , um Windows NT einzurichten.
4Drücken Sie , um das Express-Setup auszuwählen.

HINWEIS Wenn Sie die US-English-Version von Windows NT mit einer
landesspezifischen (nicht US-English) Tastatur installieren, sollten Sie
Benutzerdefiniertes Setup wählen. Das “Benutzerdefinierte
Setup” ermöglicht Ihnen die Auswahl einer landesspezifischen Tastatur.
5Legen Sie die “Setup-Diskette 3” ein, wenn Sie dazu vom Installa-
tionsprogramm aufgefordert werden.
6Wenn das Installationsprogramm anzeigt, daß das IDE-CD-ROM-
Laufwerk als Massenspeichergerät erkannt wurde, drücken Sie die
Z-Taste, um ein weiteres Gerät anzugeben.
7Wählen Sie Andere durch Drücken von . Legen Sie die
Kopie der Boot-Diskette ein, und drücken Sie dann .
8Drücken Sie jetzt , um den angezeigten Adaptec-Treiber
auszuwählen, und drücken Sie dann nochmals , um die
Installation fortzusetzen.
9Nehmen Sie die Kopie der Bootdiskette aus dem Laufwerk, und
legen Sie die Windows NT “Setup-Diskette 3” ein.
10 Drücken Sie , um Windows NT von der CD-ROM zu
installieren. Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, die
vom Installationsprogramm angegeben werden. (Detaillierte
Installationsanweisungen finden Sie in der Dokumentation zu
Microsoft Windows NT.)
11 Wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden, die Adaptec 7800 Family Manager
Set Treiberdiskette einzulegen, legen Sie die Kopie der Boot-Diskette
ein, und drücken Sie , um fortzufahren.
12 Nach dem Kopieren der Dateien von der Kopie der Boot-Diskette
nehmen Sie die Diskette aus dem Laufwerk, und drücken Sie
, um Ihren Computer neu zu starten.
13 Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen des Installationsprogramms von
Windows NT, um dessen Installation fortzusetzen.
14 Wenn das Installationsprogramm versucht, den Netzwerkadapter zu
erkennen, klicken Sie auf Fortsetzen. Wählen Sie dann im nächsten
Dialogfenster Fortsetzen aus.

15 Wählen Sie im Dialogfenster Netzwerkkarte hinzufügen die Option Kein
Netzwerk aus, und klicken Sie dann auf OK, um Ihre Auswahl zu
bestätigen. (Die Installation der Netzwerktreiber wird im folgenden
Abschnitt erläutert.)
16 Setzen Sie die Installation von Windows NT fort, bis in einem Dialog-
fenster der an Ihrem Computer angeschlossenen Bildschirmtyp
vorgeschlagen wird.
17 Klicken Sie auf OK, um VGA-kompatible Graphikkarte auszuwählen. Zum
Speichern der Konfiguration klicken Sie anschließend auf OK.
18 Wenn die Installation von Windows NT abgeschlossen ist, klicken Sie
auf Neu starten, um Ihren Computer neu zu starten.
2. Installieren der HP-Treiber
Bevor Sie die HP-Treiber installieren können, muß Windows NT auf
Ihrem System komplett installiert und aktiv sein. Die Treiber befinden
sich auf der CD-ROM HP Vectra XU/XW Drivers and Documentation,
die im Lieferumfang Ihres Systems enthalten ist. (Diese CD-ROM wird
im folgenden als HP-Treiber CD-ROM bezeichnet.)
HINWEIS Bei den nachfolgenden Anweisungen wird vorausgesetzt, daß Ihrem
CD-ROM-Laufwerk der Laufwerksbuchstabe D: zugewiesen ist.
Installieren der Treiber für IDE-Massenspeichergeräte (CD-ROM)
1Doppelklicken Sie auf das Symbol Windows NT-Setup.
2Wählen Sie im Menü Optionen die Option SCSI-Adapter
hinzufügen/entfernen....
3Wählen Sie dann IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual Channel PCI IDE, klicken
Sie auf Entfernen und dann auf OK, um das Löschen des Adapters zu
bestätigen.
4Klicken Sie auf Hinzufügen... und dann auf OK.
5Blättern Sie in der Liste der Adapter, und wählen Sie Andere.

6Legen Sie die HP-Treiber CD-ROM ein. Geben Sie D:\IDE\WINNT35
ein, und klicken Sie dann auf OK.
7Wenn im nächsten Dialogfenster CMD 64xx 32-bit IDE Adapter angezeigt
wird, klicken Sie auf OK und dann auf Installieren.
8Klicken Sie auf Fortsetzen, um den Pfad für die Dateien zu bestätigen.
9Schließen Sie das Dialogfenster Setup für SCSI-Adapter, und schließen
Sie dann das Fenster Windows NT-Setup.
10 Führen Sie nach der Installation bei Windows NT einen System-
abschluß durch, und starten Sie den Computer neu.
Aktivieren der Netzwerkfunktionen nach der Installation
1Doppelklicken Sie in der Systemsteuerung auf das Symbol Netzwerk.
2Wenn die Meldung Netzwerkeinstellungen erscheint, klicken Sie auf Ja.
3Bestätigen Sie den vorgeschlagenen Setup-Pfad. Dieser entspricht
dem Quellpfad für die Installationsdateien von Windows NT auf der
Windows NT CD-ROM (Beispiel: D:\i386).
4Klicken Sie auf Fortsetzen, um den HP-Netzwerktreiber für
Windows NT zu installieren. Installieren Sie den Treiber wie folgt:
aWählen Sie Nicht erkennen, um einen Adapter manuell
auszuwählen.
bKlicken Sie auf Fortsetzen, um einen Netzwerkadapter
auszuwählen.
cWählen Sie im Listenfeld die Option Andere und dann Fortsetzen
aus.
dLegen Sie die HP-Treiber CD-ROM ein, und geben Sie das
Verzeichnis der Treiber wie folgt an: D:\LANBT\WINNT.
eWählen Sie den Netzwerkadapter aus der angezeigten Liste der
Adapter aus.
5Das System setzt die Installation fort. Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen
von Windows NT, um die Installation des Netzwerktreibers
abzuschließen.

6Klicken Sie auf Neu starten, wenn Sie hierzu vom Installations-
programm aufgefordert werden.
Detaillierte technische Erläuterungen und Informationen über den
Netzwerktreiber für Windows NT finden Sie im “Netzwerk-
administrator-Handbuch”, das sich auf der HP-Treiber
CD-ROM im Windows-Hilfeformat befindet. Die Datei finden Sie unter
\LANBT\DOC\NAG.HLP.
Installieren des OpenGL-Grafiktreibers
Nach der Basisinstallation verwendet Windows NT einen VGA-
kompatiblen Standard-Bildschirmtreiber. Um die Funktionen der
AccelProT/2500 OpenGL-Schnittstelle nutzen zu können, müssen Sie
den auf der HP-Treiber CD-ROM gelieferten, von HP empfohlenen
OpenGL-Treiber installieren.
Ausführliche Installationsanweisungen enthält das Konfigurations-
handbuch zum OpenGL-Treiber, das sich auf der HP-Treiber CD-ROM
im Windows-Hilfeformat befindet. Lesen Sie den Abschnitt “How to ...
Install the OpenGL driver”. Die Datei finden Sie unter
\OPENGL\DOC\HPOPENGL.HLP.
Dieses Handbuch enthält außerdem zusätzliche technische Daten zur
OpenGL-Schnittstelle und beschreibt, wie die Treiber für bestimmte
Anwendungen konfiguriert werden müssen.
Installieren der Sound-Treiber
Aktivieren Sie die integrierte Audioschnittstelle wie folgt:
1Doppelklicken Sie in der Systemsteuerung auf das Symbol Treiber.
2Klicken Sie auf Hinzufügen....
3Wählen Sie aus der Liste die Option Creative Labs Sound Blaster 1.x, Pro,
16 aus, und klicken Sie auf OK.
4Legen Sie die Microsoft Windows NT CD-ROM im CD-ROM-Lauf-
werk ein.
5Bestätigen Sie im nachfolgenden Dialogfenster den Einstellungs-
vorschlag, und klicken Sie dann auf OK.

HINWEIS Der Einstellungsvorschlag stimmt standardmäßig mit den Einstellungen
der Audioschnittstelle im HP-Setup-Programm überein. Wenn eine
Fehlermeldung erscheint, überprüfen Sie, ob der Vorschlag den
Einstellungen im Setup-Programm entspricht. Weitere Informationen

Pour votre information Vous devez installer un système d'exploitation avant de pouvoir utiliser
votre nouvelle station de travail personnelle HP Vectra XW. Ce
document explique comment installer Windows NT 3.51 WS.
Vous trouverez tous les pilotes nécessaires sur le CD-ROM
HP Vectra XU/XW Drivers and Documentation. Vous pouvez obtenir
la dernière version de tous les pilotes (accompagnés des notes
d'installation correspondantes) sur le BBS HP et sur la page HP Access
du World Wide Web.
1. Installation de base
Installez d'abord Windows NT sans fonctionnalités réseau et en mode
VGA. Une fois que Windows NT est opérationnel, reportez-vous à
l'étape 2 pour savoir comment installer les fonctionnalités complètes
avec l'accélération graphique OpenGL, le son et les pilotes réseau, et
comment obtenir les meilleures performances en toute stabilité avec
les pilotes fournis et agréés par HP pour les unités de mémoire de
masse.
Préparation de l'installation de Windows NT
Pour installer Windows NT Workstation 3.51, il vous faudra :
•Le CD-ROM XU/XW Drivers and Documentation
ainsi que la disquette XW Boot (fournie avec le système)
•une disquette vierge formatée.
Avant d'installer Windows NT, vous devez copier quelques fichiers
importants (pilotes système) depuis le CD-ROM sur une disquette
vierge :
1Utilisez la commande MS-DOS DISKCOPY pour créer une copie de la
disquette “XW Boot” sur la disquette vierge et rangez la disquette
originale en lieu sûr.
2Etiquetez la disquette copie : disquette “XW Boot”.

3Insérez la disquette copie “XW Boot” dans le lecteur de disquette et
le CD-ROM “XU/XW Drivers and Documentation” dans le lecteur de
CD-ROM.
4Redémarrez l'ordinateur et appuyez sur pour lancer le
programme Setup.
5Dans le programme Setup, mettez Operating System en
surbrillance et sélectionnez Windows NT. Appuyez sur la touche
pour sauvegarder le paramètre et quitter le programme Setup.
6Lorsque l'ordinateur redémarre, il s'amorce depuis la disquette
insérée dans le lecteur. Suivez les instructions affichées pour copier
les fichiers requis pour une installation de Windows NT.
7Retirez la disquette et le CD-ROM de l'ordinateur une fois que les
fichiers ont été copiés depuis le CD-ROM sur la disquette copie.
Installation de Windows NT
Reportez-vous au manuel de MS Windows NT Workstation 3.51 pour
des explications détaillées sur la procédure d'installation.
Avant d'installer Windows NT, vérifiez que vous possédez les disques
suivants :
•Disquettes d’installation de Windows NT
(disquettes Amorçage pour l’installation, Disquette 2 et
Disquette 3) ;
•CD-ROM Windows NT ;
•Disquette copie Boot.
1Insérez la disquette Windows NT “Amorçage pour l’installation” dans
le lecteur Aet le CD-ROM Windows NT dans le lecteur de CD-ROM.
Redémarrez le système.
2Insérez la “Disquette 2” lorsque le programme d'installation vous le
demande.
3Appuyez sur pour installer Windows NT.
4Appuyez sur pour sélectionner Installation
personnalisée.

REMARQUE Si vous installez la version américaine de Windows NT avec un clavier
fonctionnant dans une autre langue que l’américain, choisissez
Installation personnalisée (Custom Setup). La configuration
personnalisée vous permet de sélectionner un clavier fonctionnant dans
une langue autre que l'américain.
5Insérez la “Disquette 3” lorsque le programme d'installation vous le
demande.
6Lorsque le programme d'installation signale que le CD-ROM IDE a
été détecté en tant qu'unité de mémoire de masse, appuyez sur S
pour spécifier une unité supplémentaire.
7Sélectionnez Autre en appuyant sur . Insérez la disquette
copie Boot et appuyez sur .
8Appuyez sur pour sélectionner le pilote Adaptec affiché et
appuyez sur pour continuer l'installation.
9Retirez la disquette copie Boot et insérez la disquette Windows NT
“Disquette 3”.
10 Appuyez sur pour installer Windows NT depuis le
CD-ROM. Suivez les instructions affichées par le programme
d'installation (reportez-vous à la documentation de Microsoft
Windows NT pour des instructions d'installation détaillées).
11 Lorsque le programme vous demande d'insérer la disquette du pilote
Adaptec 7800 Family Manager Set, insérez la disquette copie Boot et
appuyez sur pour réessayer.
12 Une fois les fichiers copiés depuis la disquette copie Boot, retirez la
disquette et appuyez sur pour redémarrer l'ordinateur.
13 Suivez les instructions affichées par le programme d'installation de
Windows NT pour poursuivre l'installation.
14 Lorsque le programme d'installation tente de détecter l'adaptateur
réseau, cliquez sur Continuer, puis sélectionnez Continuer dans la boîte
de dialogue suivante.

15 Sélectionnez Pas de réseau dans la boîte de dialogue Ajouter une carte
réseau, puis cliquez sur OK pour confirmer votre choix (l'installation
des pilotes réseau est expliquée dans la section suivante).
16 Poursuivez l'installation de Windows NT jusqu'à l'apparition d'une
boîte de dialogue vous proposant le type d'écran connecté à
l'ordinateur.
17 Cliquez sur OK pour sélectionner l'option Carte d’affichage compatible
VGA, puis sur OK pour sauvegarder la configuration.
18 Une fois Windows NT installé, cliquez sur Réamorcer l’ordinateur pour
redémarrer l'ordinateur.
2. Installation des pilotes HP
Windows NT doit être complètement installé et opérationnel sur votre
HP Vectra avant d'installer les pilotes HP. Les pilotes se trouvent sur le
CD-ROM HP Vectra XU/XW Drivers and Documentation fourni avec
votre station de travail personnelle HP Vectra (il est fait référence à ce
CD-ROM sous le nom de CD-ROM Pilotes HP dans les instructions
suivantes).
REMARQUE Les instructions ci-après supposent que la lettre D: est affectée à votre
lecteur de CD-ROM.
Installation des pilotes de mémoire de masse IDE (CD-ROM)
1Cliquez deux fois sur l'icône Installation de Windows NT.
2Dans le menu Options, choisissez Ajouter/enlever des cartes SCSI.
3Sélectionnez IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Canal double PCI IDE, cliquez sur
Supprimer, puis cliquez sur OK pour confirmer que vous voulez retirer
la carte.
4Cliquez sur Ajouter, puis sur OK.
5Faites défiler la liste des adaptateurs et sélectionnez Autre.
6Insérez le CD-ROM Pilotes HP ; tapez D:\IDE\WINNT35 et cliquez
sur OK.
