This mounting kit supports multiple AP models. Your AP might look different
than the AP shown in this document.
Installation
Complete the following steps to install your access point using the HP 355/365 AP Wall
Mount Kit.

Ethernet cable routing options
There are three options for routing the Ethernet cable, depending on the placement of
your AP in relation to the source of the Ethernet cable.
Installing an Ethernet cable from below the AP
1. Route the Ethernet cable through the channel in the rear of the mounting bracket.
See Figure 1.
2. Loop the Ethernet cable over the top of the mounting bracket, and direct the cable
through the opening that leads to the AP Ethernet ports.
3. If required, route the power cable through the bottom right of the mounting bracket.
4. Install the mounting bracket as described in Installing the mounting bracket on page 7.

Installing an Ethernet cable from behind the AP
1. Route the Ethernet cable through the large opening in the center of the mounting
bracket. See Figure 2.
2. If required, route the power cable through the bottom right of the mounting bracket.
3. Install the mounting bracket as described in Installing the mounting bracket on page 7.

Using the Ethernet cable adapter
1. Attach the Ethernet cable adapter(s) to the mounting bracket as shown in Figure 3.
The adapter is secured when it clicks into place.
2. If required, route the power cable through the bottom right of the mounting bracket.
3. Install the mounting bracket as described in Installing the mounting bracket on page 7.

Installing the mounting bracket
1. Hold the paper template included with this mount kit against the wall where you want
to install the mounting bracket, and mark the location of the screw holes.
2. Install wall anchors if necessary. Wall anchors are not included in this kit.
3. Align the screw holes in the mounting bracket with the previously installed anchors or
marked screw points. See Figure 4. Ensure that no Ethernet cables are obstructing
the screw holes.

4. Use screws to secure the mounting bracket. Screws are not included in this kit.
5. Attach any necessary cables to the AP.
6. If using the Ethernet cable adapter, connect the Ethernet cable through the opening
on the side of the mounting bracket.
To disconnect the Ethernet cable from the adapter after the installation is
complete, you must remove the AP from the bracket to access the RJ45
locking tab.

7. Push the metal slider located on the bottom of the mounting bracket up to allow the AP
to connect.
8. While still pushing the metal slider, align the mounting posts on the bracket with the
mounting holes on the AP. See Figure 5.

9. Install the T8 Torx security screw into the screw hole on the bottom of the mounting
bracket to complete the installation.
