Description
The RDX Utility is a Windows® application that allows you to diagnose problems with your RDX
Removable Disk Backup System. It is important to install RDX Utility 2.20 (HP RDX Tools 1.44)
immediately after connecting the RDX unit to ensure that the eject function operates correctly.
With the RDX utility, you can:
•Identify RDX Removable Disk Backup Systems attached to your server
•Retrieve device and cartridge status information
•Upgrade the firmware in the RDX Removable Disk Backup System
•Test the unit and the cartridge

Prerequisites
If the RDX utility is not installed, the eject button and right-click eject will not work properly. Be sure
that the RDX unit is connected to your system before running the RDX Utility.
Installation instructions
To run the RDX Utility for Windows, click Start > All Programs > RDX Utility > RDX Utility. For instructions
on using the RDX utility, click Help. For further details see the RDX User Guide found on your HP
StorageWorks CD or at http://www.hp.com.
Determining current version
Navigate to the Help > About > Utility option in the HP RDX menu.
