HS aqua Platy LED AQUARIUM
Als eerste willen wij U bedanken voor de aankoop van
een HS aqua Platy aquarium. Het aquarium wordt
geleverd met een uitgebreid pakket van accessoires.
De set bestaat uit HS aqua Platy Aquarium inclusief LED
verlichting, binnen lter of bio lter ( afhankelijk van
het model), verwarming, thermometer en schepnet.
Wij raden u aan om vóór gebruik deze handleiding
grondig door te lezen. Zo bent u ervan verzekerd dat
het aquarium veilig, correct en optimaal gebruikt
wordt. Bewaar deze handleiding zodat u deze, indien
nodig, op een later tijdstip nogmaals kunt raadplegen.
Veiligheidsaanwijzingen
• Het HS aqua Platy Aquarium is alleen binnenshuis
te gebruiken.
• Bij onderhoudswerkzaamheden dienen alle stekkers
uit het stopcontact verwijderd te worden.
• Bij beschadiging van de kabels mag het desbetreende
apparaat niet meer gebruikt worden.
• Bij het aansluiten van alle elektrische apparaten
op het stopcontact dienen de laagste punten van
alle elektriciteitskabels zich lager dan het stopcontact
te bevinden. Dit ter voorkoming van waterdruppels
die van de kabels in het stopcontact zouden kunnen lopen.
• Dit aquarium is niet geschikt om door kinderen of niet
bekwame personen zonder toezicht gebruikt te worden.
• Knik de kabels niet.
• Het aquarium dient waterpas opgesteld te worden op
een schone, vlakke en stevige ondergrond om barsten en
beschadigingen te voorkomen.
• Verplaats nooit een gevuld aquarium en til het niet op aan
de randen van de glazen bak of de deksel.
• Voordat u onderhoudswerkzaamheden in het aquarium
uit gaat voeren is het aan te raden een kleine hoeveelheid
water uit het aquarium te verwijderen om te voorkomen
dat het water overloopt zodra u met uw handen in het
aquarium komt.
Opstellen, inrichten en opstarten
Voordat u het aquarium voor de eerste keer gebruikt dient u
de bak grondig te reinigen. Gebruik hiervoor geen chemische
middelen maar alleen leidingwater. Plaats het aquarium
waterpas op een schone, vlakke en stevige ondergrond en
bij voorkeur niet in direct zonlicht om in een later stadium
overmatige algengroei te voorkomen. Daarnaast zijn er
minimaal drie stopcontacten nodig om alle benodigde
apparatuur aan te kunnen sluiten.
Na het kiezen van een geschikte plaats kan het aquarium
ingericht worden. Voor een mooie plantengroei adviseren
wij een dunne laag HS aqua Humalit 5+, een speciale
plantenvoedingsbodem, aan te brengen. Deze wordt afgedekt
met een laag aquarium grind of aquarium zand naar eigen
keuze. Anders dan HS aqua Humalit 5+ dient u de afdeklaag
van tevoren goed uit te spoelen met kraanwater om stof
en ander vuil te verwijderen. Hierna kunt u het aquarium
tot de helft vullen met water. Doe dit wel voorzichtig om te
voorkomen dat de bodemlagen zich mengen. TIP Plaats een
omgekeerd koeschoteltje op de bodem van het aquarium
en laat het water met een gieter of slang via het schoteltje in
het aquarium lopen.
Nu kunt u eventueel decoratiemateriaal plaatsen en
aquariumplanten in de bodem inzetten. Om een mooi
eect te creëren kunt u het beste de hoog groeiende
planten achterin het aquarium plaatsen en de laagblijvende
bodembedekkers op de voorgrond.
Plaats vervolgens de bijgeleverde lter en de verwarming in
één van de hoeken van het aquarium. Schakel het lter en de
verwarming nooit in als deze zich nog niet volledig onder het
waterpeil bevinden.
In de tegenover liggende hoek plaatst u het bijgeleverde
thermometer. Controleer de temperatuur van het water en
vergelijk dit met de temperatuur die de door u aangekochte
vissen nodig hebben. Als de benodigde temperatuur afwijkt
van het water in het aquarium voegt u naar gelang warmer of
kouder water toe. Vul het aquarium dan tot 80% van de totale
inhoud. Let op dat u het aquarium nog niet volledig vult in
verband met eventuele werkzaamheden die u nog uit zult
voeren, bijvoorbeeld het inzetten van vissen.
Omdat vers leidingwater niet geschikt is voor aquarium
doeleinden, dient u het voor te bereiden met het HS aqua
Procell S . HS aqua Procell S verwijdert eventueel aanwezig
schadelijk chloor en bindt giftige zware metalen. Bovendien
voegt het een component toe aan het water die de slijmhuid
van de vissen beschermt. Voor een goede biologische ltering
van het water zijn daarnaast nuttige bacteriën noodzakelijk.
Deze voegt u met HS aqua Bacto Turbo S eenvoudig toe
aan het water. De bacteriën in HS aqua Bacto Turbo S zijn
speciaal aangepast aan aquariumomstandigheden en
ontwikkelen zich vele malen sneller dan andere verkrijgbare
bacterieculturen. Het is met HS aqua Bacto Turbo S niet
meer nodig om 14 dagen te wachten alvorens vissen in het
aquarium geplaatst kunnen worden. U kunt direct na het

inrichten van het aquarium enkele vissen erin doen.
Na het uitzettenvan de vissen kunt u het aquarium volledig
vullen. Omdat nu alle werkzaamheden in het aquarium zijn
afgerond kunt u de lter en de verwarming in het stopcontact
aansluiten.
Installatie van het verlichtingssysteem
Het bijgeleverde verlichtingssysteem is uitermate geschikt
voor aquaria. Het verlichtingssysteem is ontworpen volgens
de behoeften van aquatische planten en dieren zodat de voor
hen meest geschikte leefomgeving wordt nagebootst.
Gebruiksaanwijzing en waarschuwingen:
1. Het verlichtingssysteem is een elektronisch apparaat.
Controleer vóór gebruik de kabels op beschadigingen.
Schakel een apparaat met een beschadigde kabel nooit in!
2. Bij het aansluiten van de lichtkap op het stopcontact
dient het laagste punt van de elektriciteitskabel zich lager
dan het stopcontact te bevinden. Dit ter voorkoming van
waterdruppels die van de kabel in het stopcontact zouden
kunnen lopen.
3. Het is ideaal om een tijdschakelklok te gebruiken om
de verlichting van het aquarium te regelen. Het licht dient
minimaal 12 uur en maximaal 14 uur per dag te branden
om de planten voldoende licht te geven.
Het vervangen van een lamp.
Alvorens te beginnen met de werkzaamheden verwijderd
u van alle elektronische apparatuur de stekkers uit het
stopcontact.
Open de volledige lichtkap en verwijder de schroees van de
LED-Strip. Vervang de lamp door een nieuwe lamp. Schroef
hierna de nieuwe LED-strip weer op de juiste manier vast.
Na het beëindigen van de werkzaamheden sluit u de lichtkap
en schakelt u alle elektronische apparatuur weer in.
Onderhoud
1. Gebruik schone en zachte doeken om het aquarium te
reinigen. Gebruik geen harde voorwerpen of ruwe doeken,
dit om krassen te voorkomen. Voor het verwijderen van
groene aanslag aan de binnenzijde van het glas gebruikt u
het beste de HS aqua Scraper en/of de HS aqua Scrubber
2. Alle chemische schoonmaakmiddelen zijn schadelijk
voor aquarium bewoners! Gebruik deze dan ook nooit
voor het schoonmaken van het aquarium. Gebruik
uitsluitend kraanwater.
3. Na iedere schoonmaakbeurt voegt u HS aqua Bacto
Turbo S toe om de verstoorde bacterie cultuur weer aan
te vullen.
4. Controleer na het reinigen altijd goed of al het materiaal
op een goede manier terug geplaatst is in het aquarium.
Vul de bak dan met water totdat het gewenste
waterniveau bereikt is. Schakel alle apparatuur weer in en
controleer of alle onderdelen naar behoren werken en of
er geen lekkages zijn. Hierna is het aquarium weer
gereed voor gebruik.
Verwijdering
Dit product mag niet met ander huishoudelijk afval
verwijderd worden aan het einde van zijn gebruiksduur.
Om mogelijke schade aan het milieu of de menselijke
gezondheid door ongecontroleerde afval verwijdering te
voorkomen, moet U dit product van andere soorten afval
scheiden en op een verantwoorde manier recyclen zodat
het duurzame hergebruik van materiaalbronnen wordt
bevorderd. Hoe dit product kan worden gerecycled kunt U bij
de winkelier vragen waar U het product gekocht hebt of bij de
gemeente. Dit product is volgens de verschillende nationale
voorschriften en richtlijnen erkend en komt overeen met de
EU-normen.

Garantie
Op het HS aqua Platy Aquarium is een garantietermijn
van toepassing van 2 jaar. De garantie geldt niet
voor glasbreuk, lampen en rubbers, bewegende
onderdelen die aan slijtage onderhevig zijn, de as, de
rotor, defecten die ontstaan zijn door ondeskundige
behandeling, bij uiterlijke veranderingen aan het
apparaat en bij schade als gevolg van het openen van
het motorhuis. De garantie kan alleen worden verleend
als het originele aankoopbewijs kan worden getoond.
Bij een storing of probleem neemt U contact op met de
vakhandel.

HS aqua Platy LED AQUARIUM
First we would like to thank you for purchasing a HS
aqua Platy aquarium. The aquarium comes with a
comprehensive range of accessories. The set includes
the HS aqua Platy aquarium including LED lighting,
internal lter or biological lter (depending on the
model) , heater thermometer and shnet.
In order to use this appliance safely and correctly
we recommend you to read this instruction manual
carefully before use. This also exerts the optimal
performance of the aquarium and prevents accidents.
Keep this manual properly for future reference.
Safety instructions
• The HS aqua Platy aquarium may only be used indoors
• During maintenance disconnect all power plugs from t
he power supply
• When a power cord is damaged, the device should
no longer be used.
• When connecting any device to the power supply,
the lowest points of all the power cords should be located
below the power supply (drip loop). This prevents that
water droplets from the cable can get into the power
supply.
• This device isn’t suitable to be used by children or not
qualied persons without supervision
• Don’t kink or fold the power cord
• The ground on which the tank is placed should be clean,
at and rm in order to avoid damage or break
• Never move a lled aquarium and never lift or move the
tank by holding the upper frame or tank cover.
• Before any maintenance is carried out in the aquarium
it is recommended that a small amount of water from the
tank is removed to prevent overow when you reach into
the aquarium.
Preparation, setup and startup
Before using the aquarium for the rst time it should be
thoroughly cleaned. Don’t use chemicals for cleaning, only
tap water. Place the tank on a clean, at and rm surface,
preferably out of direct sunlight. In a later stage this prevents
against excessive algae growth. There are at least three
power points necessary to connect all necessary equipment.
After choosing a suitable location, the tank can be arranged.
For a good plant growth we advise to apply a thin layer of HS
aqua Humalit 5+, a special substrate. This is covered with a
layer of aquarium gravel or aquarium sand. Unlike HS aqua
Humalit 5+ the top layer of gravel or sand has to be rinsed
well with tap water to remove dust and other dirt. Now ll
the aquarium to approximately ½ of the total height. Do this
carefully to prevent the soil layers to mix. TIP Place a plate on
the bottom and allow the water to ow onto the plate.
Now you may place decorative ornaments and aquarium
plants. To create a nice eect you can best place the high
plants in the back of the aquarium and low-growing plants
and ground covers on the foreground. Now ll the tank till
80% of the total height. Make sure you don’t ll the aquarium
completely until the total aquarium setup is done.
Then insert the heater and lter in one corner of the
aquarium. Please read the manual of these equipment before
switching them on. Never turn the heater and lter on while
they aren’t fully under the water surface.
Insert in the opposite corner where the heater and the lter
are placed, the thermometer. Check the temperature of
the water and compare with the temperature the sh you
purchased need. If the required temperature deviates from
the temperature in the aquarium, add warmer or colder water
when you completely ll the aquarium.
Because fresh water is less suitable for aquarium purposes,
you have to prepare the water with HS aqua Procell S. HS
aqua Procell S removes any harm full chlorides and binds toxic
heavy metals. Moreover, it adds a component to the water
which protects the mucous membrane of the sh. For a good
biological ltration of the water, also benecial bacteria
are needed. With HS aqua Bacto Turbo S you can easily add
these benecial bacteria to the water. HS aqua Bacto Turbo
S is specically adapted to aquarium conditions and the
special bacteria develop much faster than other available
bacterial cultures. With HS aqua Bacto Turbo S you don’t have
to wait 14 days before sh can be placed into the aquarium.
Immediately after setting up the aquarium you can place the
sh into the aquarium
After releasing the sh you can completely ll the tank with
water. Because all the maintenance on the aquarium is
completely done now, you can enable all the electrical devices
like the light, the HS aqua Platy Heater and the HS aqua Platy
Filter.

Installation of the Lighting System
The provided lighting system is equipped for the aquarium.
lighting system is designed according to the needs of the
aquatic plants and animals, so as to have them live in a
suitable environment, and to optimize family breed aquatics.
1. The lighting system is an electro-appliance. Before use
please check if the cord is broken. Never use any appliance
when there are any defects.
2. When connecting the light hood to the power supply, the
lowest points of the power cord should be located below the
power supply (drip loop). This prevents that water droplets
from the cable can get into the power supply.
3. It is ideal to use a timer to illuminate the aquarium. The
light should be burn at least 12 hours a day and up to 14 hours
a day to give the plants enough light to grow.
Replacing the lamp
Before any activities in the aquarium make sure all electronic
equipment are unplugged from the power supply.
Open the entire lamp cover and remove the screws from
the LED strip. Replace the lamp with a new lamp. Then
screw the new LED strip back on properly. After nishing
the maintenance close the light hood and turn on all the
electronic equipment again.
Maintenance
1. Use a clean and soft cloth to clean the aquarium. Don’t
use hard objects and rough cloths to prevent scratching
the glass. For the removal of green deposits on the inside
of the aquarium use the HS aqua Scraper and/or the HS
aqua Scrubber.
2. All cleaning chemicals are harmful to aquarium habitants!
Never use them for cleaning the aquarium. Only use tap
water.
3. After each cleaning, always add HS aqua Bacto Turbo S to
replenish the disturbed bacterial culture.
4. Check, after each cleaning, if all the material is placed back
in the aquarium in a proper way. Then ll the aquarium
with water from the right temperature until the desired
water level is reached. Turn all equipment back on and
check if all components are working properly and that
there are no leaks. Then the aquarium is ready for use
again.
Removal
This product should not be disposed with other household
wastes at the end of its life. To avoid possible harm to the
environment or human health from uncontrolled waste
disposal, please separate this device from other types of
wastes to promote responsibly re-use. Contact the retailer
where you purchased the product or the municipality for
any questions how to recycle this product. This product
is qualied in accordance with the respective national
regulations and guidelines and meets EC standards.
ENGLISCH
Warranty
We give a warranty of two years for the HS aqua
Platy Aquarium. The warranty does not apply to glass
breakage, rubbers and lamps, moving parts, the
shaft, the rotor, defects caused by improper handling,
changes on the exterior and damage caused by opening
of the device. The guarantee can only be granted if the
original receipt can be displayed.
When the device fails, please contact your dealer.
