Conventions used in this guide
In this user guide, we use the following symbols to indicate useful and important
information:
This is a note. A note often gives additional information, such as what happens

careful about to prevent potential problems.
7 Conventions used in this guide
Safety precautions:
a) Use a wireless hands-free system (headphone, headset) with a low power
Bluetooth emitter.
b) Make sure the cell phone has a low SAR.
c) Keep your calls short or send a text message (SMS) instead. This advice
applies especially to children, adolescents and pregnant women.
d) Use cell-phone when the signal quality is good.
e) People having active medical implants should preferably keep the cell
phone at least 15 cm away from the implant.

§If you want to use a screen protector, please don’t cover and block the proximity
sensor. You can purchase the dedicated screen protector for Desire U dual sim
that already has a small opening for the sensor.
§You need to insert and use a storage card to store your photos, videos, music, and
other files.

Back cover
Removing the back cover
1. Securely hold Desire U dual sim facing down.
2. With your thumb or finger, open the back cover from the small opening at the
bottom of Desire U dual sim.
Replacing the back cover
1. Align the back cover onto the top part of Desire U dual sim.
2. Press the sides and the bottom part of the back cover down to lock the cover
into place.
You will hear a click when the back cover is locked in place.
9 Unboxing

Dual SIM cards
Desire U dual sim has two SIM slots that allow you to insert up to two GSM SIM cards.
Slot 1 (near the camera lens) supports WCDMA and GSM. Slot 2 supports GSM.
Inserting the SIM cards
1. Take the back cover off.
2. Insert a SIM card into either SIM slot. If you have another SIM card, insert it into
the other slot.
When inserting, make sure the gold contacts on the SIM card are facing down and
the cut-off corner is facing out. Slot 1 is near the camera lens.
Removing the SIM cards
Make sure to switch off Desire U dual sim before removing your SIM cards.
1. Take the back cover off.
2. Slide the SIM cards out from their slots.
