It is recommended that 4x6 mm2cables be used for the active power supply to NetCol8000-C220
and NetCol8000-C260 when they are equipped with heating and humidification functions. If 4x10
mm2cables are to be used, change the screws on the power cable clip. Find the corresponding
screws in the accessory.

Pipe Support
2.2
1. The height of a U-shaped pipe clamp equals the diameter of the pipe with thermal insulation
foam minus 5 mm. The pipe supports are to be purchased.
2. The material for pipe supports and clamps should meet outdoor application requirements.
3. Install a support every 2500 mm in the straight sections of pipes, and 1000 mm away from each
bending point in the turning section.

Checking the Nitrogen Pressure and Exhausting Nitrogen
3.1
3Installing the Cabinet
1. Use insulated tools when installing the equipment.
2. Only engineers certified by the manufacturer or its agent are allowed to install, commission, and
maintain the smart cooling product . Otherwise, personal injury or equipment damage may
occur, and the resulting smart cooling product faults are beyond the warranty scope of Huawei.
3. The electricians onsite must be qualified.
4. The minimum front maintenance distance should be 900 mm.
5. If cabinets are not placed abreast and pipes are routed from the bottom, the height of the raised
floor should be greater than 400 mm, and the minimum distance between smart cooling product
s should be 300 mm for upflow units and 500 mm for downflow units.
6. If cabinets are placed abreast and pipes are routed from the bottom, the height of the raised
floor should be greater than 800 mm.
7. If pipes are routed from one side, the net height of the raised floor should be greater than 400
mm for downflow units; otherwise, the fan lowering will be affected. The raised floor is optional
for upflow units. The minimum distance between smart cooling product s should be 600 mm.
8. During installation, place the packaged top panel on the top of the cabinet to prevent the dust.
Remove the top panel before the power-on commissioning.
The equipment is charged with nitrogen before delivery. Rotate the exhaust valve
counterclockwise. If there is a hiss sound, the system is well sealed, and you need to open the
exhaust valve to exhaust the nitrogen. If there is no hiss sound, contact Huawei technical support.
After nitrogen is exhausted, remove the desiccant bag bound to the fan.
When there are multiple modules, you can exhaust nitrogen at any exhaust valve.
You can open or close the exhaust valve using a flat-head screwdriver.

1. For a single-door and double-dour cabinet, remove the four screws from both sides.
2. For downflow units, remove the fan maintenance baffle plate at the front door before removing
the bolts.

(Optional) Cabinet Assembly (Applicable only to Downflow
Units with Four Doors)

3. Use a 15# socket wrench to remove
the hold hoop that secures the main
pipe, remove the black sealing ring,
and remove the pipe plug.
1. Remove the side protection cardboards and rear door panels of
module 2 and module 3. Open the front doors of module 2 and
module 3, and remove the fan protective cover.
2. Use quick release screws to secure the front and rear columns
of the module 2 and module 3 to assemble the unit.
1. Operations should be conducted in a spacious and safe environment.
2. After the cables are connected, mark the terminals and bind them along the cabinet beam using
cable ties.
3. Ensure that nitrogen is completely exhausted from the exhaust valves of all modules.

(Optional) Disassembling Equipment Before Entry
3.4
1. Cut off cable ties securing the cable terminals using diagonal pliers. Disconnect the fan power
cable terminals (X101, X102, and X103) and signal cable transfer terminals (X301 and X302).
2. Remove the condensate pipe hose clamps (one needs to be removed for a double-door cabinet,
and two need to be removed for a triple-door cabinet) at the rear of the cabinet using a
screwdriver, and disconnect the condensate pipes.
3. (Optional) Open the front door and disconnect the cable from the electric heater (only
disconnect the cable from the electric heater in the second module).
4. Cut the thermal insulation foam around the pipe hoops using a utility knife, and tear the foam.
1. This method applies to the scenario where the cabinet is too large to directly enter the
installation site.
2. Exhaust nitrogen in the system before disassembling the cabinet.
3. Number each cabinet door after disassembling the cabinet to avoid mixing them up. After you
move the cabinet to the installation position, assemble the cabinet in reverse order of the
disassembling procedure and based on the cabinet door numbers.
4. The following uses a triple-door cabinet as an example to describe the disassembling
procedure.
5. Save the removed screws, hold hoops, and thermal insulation foam, for later use during
cabinet assembling.
6. Connect every two modules together using eight quick release screws, four on the front door
and four on the rear door.
7. Collect the cables in the first module after removing the terminals from the fan power cable,
electric heater power cable, and electric heater signal cable to avoid damaging the cables due
to module separation.

5. Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the hold
hoop from the condensate pipe joint of the module
3. Pull out the condensate pipe from the module 2,
and connect and secure the condensate pipe to the
module 3 using hold hoops.
4. Connect the main pipe using hoses.
Secure the pipe ports using black sealing
rings, and clamp them using hold hoops.
6. Pull out the fan power cable terminals X103 and X104 of module 2, connect them to the power
cable terminals of fan 3 and fan 4 respectively, and bind the power cables along the cabling
beam.
7. Connect the signal cable terminal X302 of module 2 to that of module 3, and bind the power
cables along the cabling beam.
8. Install the rear doors of module 2 and module 3 as well as the fan maintenance baffle plate, and
close the front doors.

5. Unscrew the pipe hold hoops using a 15# socket wrench, move the black sealing rings to the
other end of the pipes, and disconnect the pipes, as shown in the following figure. Save the
black sealing rings for later use during cabinet assembly.
6. Remove the quick release screws securing the cabinet, disassemble the cabinet, and move
the cabinet to the installation position.
7. Assemble the cabinet in the reverse order after the cabinet is moved to the installation position.
1. Shock absorption pads need to be attached to the top of the bases.
2. For a single-door and double-door cabinet, tighten the four screws on both sides.
3. Eight screws need to be tightened to secure a quadruple-door cabinet. Tighten the four
screws at both ends of the cabinet and one diagonal line of each of the two modules in
the middle.

Attach the thermal insulation foam to pipe joints after water is injected and air is exhausted.

1. Exercise caution when raising or lowering a fan to prevent personal injury.
2. When removing the fan beam, assign one person to hold the fan.
b. Remove the screws securing the fan to the fan
support beam, remove the screws securing the
fan support beam to the cabinet, and remove
the fan support beam.
Lowering a Fan (Applicable to Downflow Units)

a. Open the front door. Loosen the fan
maintenance baffle plate and remove it
from the cabinet.
1. Secure the base to the ground using six M12x60 expansion bolts.
2. Move the cabinet onto the base. Secure the cabinet to the base using six bolts. Install a shock
pad between the base and the cabinet.

c. Turn the fan to 45 degrees to the
cabinet bottom, push the fan along the
guide rails at both sides, and press
down the fan until it is level.
d. Place the fan support beam under the fan, secure
the beam to the cabinet using screws, and secure
the fan to the cabinet.
Connecting Pipelines (Upflow)

1. To avoid deforming the pipe, use a 75# open-end wrench to fix the pipe nut, use a 36# open-
end wrench to fix the plug, and then remove the plug.
2. Apply thread sealant evenly on the joints of external screw threads, and install the pipes from
inside out.
3. Use a 75# open-end wrench and an 18# pipe wrench to fix the pipes. Wrap the pipes with
thermal insulation foam.
Bottom Pipe Routing
Remove the thermal insulation foam before connecting pipes.
If the cabinets are not placed abreast onsite, you are advised to route the pipes from one
side of the cabinets.

Side Pipe Routing
1. Loosen the left knocking-off padding cover of the cabinet using a Phillips screwdriver. Take out
the cover and remove the knocking-off padding.
2. Remove the elbow hoops securing the horizontal pipe using a 15# socket wrench, and then
take out the bend.
3. Remove the hold hoop securing the bend using a 15# socket wrench. To avoid deforming the
pipe, use a 75# open-end wrench to fix the pipe nut, use a 36# open-end wrench to fix the plug
at the lower part of the bend, and then remove the plug.
4. Connect the threaded connecting ends removed from the straight pipe to the external pipe
(apply thread sealant on the joints of external screw threads), and secure them using a 75#
open-end wrench and an 18# pipe wrench.
5. Connect the other end of the straight pipe to the pipe of the smart cooling product using a black
sealing ring (seal the pipe connection point using a black sealing ring).
6. Secure the pipe using hold hoops.
7. After wrapping the pipes with thermal insulation foam, install the left knocking-off padding cover.
The direction (in step 2) in which the main pipes are tightened by using hold hoops is for reference
only. The onsite situation prevails.
1. Remove the baffle plate at the bottom of the cabinet, and knock off the U-shaped hole in the
baffle plate.
2. To avoid deforming the pipe, use a 75# open-end wrench to fix the pipe nut, use a 36# open-
end wrench to fix the plug, and then remove the plug.
3. Apply thread sealant evenly on the joints of external screw threads, and install the pipes from
inside out.
4. Use a 75# open-end wrench and an 18# pipe wrench to fix the pipes.
5. Install the pipe baffle plate at the bottom of the cabinet, and wrap the pipe and the baffle plate
with thermal insulation foam.
Bottom Pipe Routing
Remove the thermal insulation foam before connecting pipes, and wrap thermal insulation foam
around the pipes after connecting the pipes.

1. Remove the pipe clamp securing the
vertical pipe using a Phillips screwdriver.
(Install the removed pipe clamp to the
cabinet side door in step 7.)
2. Remove the elbow hoops securing the
horizontal pipe using a 15# socket wrench,

using a 15# socket wrench. To avoid

using a black sealing ring).
6. Secure the pipe using hold hoops.
7. Attach thermal insulation foam to the pipe,
and then install the pipe clamp on the side
panel of the NetCol8000-C using a Phillips
screwdriver to secure the pipe. Wrap the
pipes with thermal insulation foam after
installing the pipes.
Side Pipe Routing
The direction (in step 2) in which the main
pipes are tightened by using hold hoops is for
reference only. The onsite situation prevails.

(Optional) Leakage Test with Nitrogen

1. Open the general water supply valve.
2. Verify that the chilled water valve is open (100%
or OPEN). If not, press the button on the side of
the actuator, and manually rotate the valve
handle to the maximum.
3. Slowly open the exhaust valve to discharge air.
4. Adjust the air exhausting speed until no air flows
out of the valve. Then close the exhaust valve.
5. (If a leakage test with nitrogen has been
performed, skip this step.) Raise the water
pressure in the chilled water pipe to 0.8 MPa. If
no leakage occurs after 30 minutes, retain the
pressure for 24 hours. The expected result is
that the pressure drop is less than 0.01 MPa
and the pipe does not leak.
6. Release the pressure in the pipes, and manually
close the chilled water valve.
Leakage Test with Water
3.12
To avoid blockage of the heat exchanger in the smart cooling product due to foreign matter
from the main pipe during the construction, you are advised to clean the main pipe before
water is supplied to the smart cooling product . Turn off the isolation valves on the water inlet
and outlet pipes before the cleaning and turn them on afterwards.
If a cabinet has been disassembled, check that hold hoops on the pipe connectors do not
leak. If there is no water leakage, wrap the hold hoops with thermal insulation foam.
Open the exhaust valve of each heat exchanger to exhaust nitrogen onsite.
1. Rotate the chilled water valve to the maximum
openness (OPEN).
2. Check that the needle valves and exhaust valves
on the pipeline are closed.
3. Connect the reducing valve and nitrogen cylinder
to the following needle valve, inject 0.8 MPa (when
the pressure is stable) nitrogen, and leave them for
24 hours.
4. Then, check that the pressure reading on the
pressure gauge remains unchanged.
•If the pressure decreases, apply soapy
water on the pipes, especially pipe
joints to check for any leakage.
•If the pressure is stable, wrap all pipes
and connectors with thermal insulation
foam.
•Install a reducing valve at the outlet of
the nitrogen cylinder. The outlet
pressure of the reducing valve must
be not more than 0.8 MPa.

4Connecting Cables
Cables must be routed in through cable clips.
Route and bind the cables along the beams and columns of the unit.
The cabinet has no input neutral wire. You can cut the blue neutral wire and wrap it using
insulation tape.
Cables can be routed from the bottom or side of the upflow units and cables can be routed
from the bottom, side, or top of the downflow units. Knock off the padding of holes at the
proper positions based on the onsite cable routing method, and route the cables through the
holes.

A ground cable must be routed from the equipotential bonding point of the cabinet to the

(Optional) Connecting a Differential Pressure Sensor

Upflow
1. Secure the differential pressure sensor inside the cabinet using two M3 screws.
2. Connect the longer PU hose to the port without the Lo (-) silk screen under the differential pressure
sensor, and route the hose through the top of the cabinet to the supply air pipe plenum chamber.
(There should be two binding points adjacent to the pressure inlet. The distance between the
binding point closer to the pressure inlet and the pressure inlet should not exceed 25 mm, and the
distance between two binding points is within 20–30 mm.)
3. Connect cables to the differential pressure sensor.
The pressure tube at the air return side needs to be bound to the top cabinet beam horizontally. If a
motorized damper is configured, route the pressure tube through the hole reserved in the damper
enclosure frame, and bind the pressure tube to the cable bridge inside the damper enclosure frame.
After powering on the NetCol8000, choose Settings > System Settings > Common Settings, and set
Air-side difference pressure sensor type to 0–500 Pa.
Bind the pressure inlet tube along the pipeline, and the distance between two binding points should not
exceed 2.5 m.
Install either the differential pressure sensor or the cap. If the cap is installed, skip this section.

(Optional) Connecting the Direct free-cooling plenum

For details about how to install the direct free-cooling plenum, see the documents delivered with it. After
powering on the NetCol8000, choose Settings > System Settings > Indoor Fan, and set Direct free-
cooling to Enable.

(Optional) Connecting the Water Leakage Sensor

1. Secure the differential pressure sensor
inside the cabinet using two M3 screws.
2. Connect the shorter PU hose to the Lo (-)
port above the differential pressure
sensor, and secure the hose to the air
return side using cable ties. (The
pressure inlet is suggested to be at the
middle of the top beam in the figure.
There should be two binding points
adjacent to the pressure inlet. The
distance between the binding point
closer to the pressure inlet and the
pressure inlet should not exceed 25 mm,
and the distance between two binding
points is within 20–30 mm.)
3. Connect the longer PU hose to the port
without the Lo (-) silk screen under the
differential pressure sensor, and route
the hose to the outside through the cable
hole at the bottom of the cabinet. (You
are advised to bind the pressure inlet to
the base closest to the smart cooling
product at 1/2 height of the raised floor
under the air supply vent, with hose end
facing downwards. For details about
securing the PU hose, refer to the
binding requirements in step 2.)
4. Connect cables to the differential
pressure sensor.

Install the water leakage sensor 0.5 m away from the cabinet. If there is a raised floor, install the
water leakage sensor under the raised floor and keep the water leakage sensor contact downwards.

(Optional) Connecting the T/H Sensor Outside the Cabinet
4.9
The T/H sensors should be installed 1.5 m (33 U) above the floor. Connect the T/H sensors
outside the cabinet and the T/H sensors at the return air side in series, and secure them with
cable ties or other fasteners. Each smart cooling product supports three T/H sensors in cold
aisles and the other three in hot aisles at most.

1. Connect one end of the two-core cable for the water leakage sensor to the water leakage
sensor.
2. (Upflow) Route the cable through the cable hole from the bottom of the cabinet, and bind it
along the beam at the bottom of the cabinet. (Downflow) Route the cable through the cable hole
at the bottom, and route it along the post and beam of the cabinet through the cable trough
under the electric control box.
3. Connect the other end of the two-core cable to terminals X2.9 and X2.10 on the terminal block.
4. Secure cables to the water leakage sensor using cable ties.
