1 Placing the Device
Do not install the LG8245X6 outdoors or in an outdoor cabinet.
Keep 10 cm clearance on all sides to ensure adequate ventilation.

It is recommended that the computer and LG8245X6 be put far away from electric
appliances that generate strong magnetic or electric elds, such as microwave
ovens.
1. Mark the positions of two holes used for mounting the LG8245X6, and ensure
that the two holes have the same spacing as the two mounting holes.
2. Select a proper drill according to the outer diameter of the screws. Use this
drill to drill the marked positions on the wall. Then, clean the wall and install
two expansion bolts.
3. Use a screwdriver to fasten the screws into the expansion bolts, leaving the
heads of the screws 10 mm over the wall. Then, install the LG8245X6.

● You can also place the DSL home gateway horizontally on the desk.
● The appearance shown in this document may be dierent from the actual
appearance of the product. The actual product provided by the carrier prevails.

O The device is powered o or faulty.
WAN Steady green ● The WAN port is connected to a network
cable.
Blinking green Internet connection is being activated.
O ● The WAN port is not connected to a
network cable.
Internet Steady green The device is connected to the Internet in
router mode, but no data is being transmitted.
Blinking green ● The device is being connected to the
Internet in router mode. (Blinks 4 times per
second.)
● The device is connected to the Internet in
router mode, and data is being transmitted.
(Blinks twice per second.)
O ● The WAN port is not connected to a
network cable.
● The device is in bridge mode.
VoIP Steady green The device is registered with an SIP server, but
no data is being transmitted.

Blinking green ● The device is being registered with an SIP
server. (Blinks twice per second.)
● The device is registered with an SIP server,
and data is being transmitted. (Blinks 4
times per second.)
O No VoIP service, or no VoIP WAN conguration
exists.
LAN1–LAN4 Steady green The LAN port is connected to an Ethernet
device (such as a computer) with a network
cable, but no data is being transmitted.
Blinking green The LAN port is connected to an Ethernet
device with a network cable, and data is being
transmitted.
O The LAN port is not connected to any Ethernet
device.
WLAN Steady green The WLAN function is enabled, but no data is
being transmitted.
Blinking green ● The WLAN function is enabled, and data is
being transmitted. (Blinks twice per
second.)
● The device is attempting to connect to a
wireless client over the WLAN using the
WPS function. The WLAN indicator blinks
for 120s. (Blinks once per second.)
O The WLAN function is disabled.

1 Reset Restores the DSL home gateway to its default settings or
resets the DSL home gateway.
● To restore the DSL home gateway to its default
settings, press and hold the Reset button for more
than 6s after the DSL home gateway is powered on,
and then release the button. After the DSL home
gateway is restored to its default settings, all
customized data will be lost. Therefore, use this
function only when necessary.
● To reset the DSL home gateway, press and hold the
Reset button for not more than 6s after the DSL home
gateway is powered on.
2 USB Connects to a USB device.
3 WAN Connects to an Ethernet device that provides Internet
access, such as a modem or switch.
4 LAN1–LAN4 Connects to Ethernet devices, such as computers, set-top
boxes (STBs), and switches.
5 Phone1/2 Connects to a telephone.
6 Power Connects to a power adapter.
7 WLAN/WPS ● When the wireless function is enabled, press the
button for not more than 5s to start Wi-Fi protected
setup (WPS) negotiation.
● When the wireless function is enabled, press and hold
the button for more than 5s to turn o the wireless
function.
● When the wireless function is disabled, tap the button
to turn on the wireless function.

How do I log in to the LG8245X6 web page?
● Wireless login
1. Connect your mobile phone, pad, or PC to the Wi-Fi network of the
LG8245X6.
2. Enter the IP address in the address bar of a browser and press Enter. On the
displayed login page, enter the account and password. (For details about the
IP address, login account, and password, see the product nameplate.)

● Wired login
1. Use a network cable to connect the LG8245X6 to your PC.

2. Log in to the web conguration page.
a. Open a browser. In the address bar, enter the web address (printed on the
nameplate of the LG8245X6). Press Enter.
b. Enter the login user name and password (printed on the nameplate of
the LG8245X6). Click Log In.
NO TE
● Before you log in to the LG8245X6 web page, ensure that the computer used for
the login is connected to the LG8245X6 and has been congured to automatically
obtain an IP address or assigned with a static IP address.
● To protect against unauthorized access, change the password after the rst login.
● The system will be locked if you input incorrect user name or password three
consecutive times. After one minute, it will be unlocked.
● If you do not perform any operations after logging in to the system for ve
minutes you will exit the system and the system automatically returns to the login
interface.
How do I change the Wi-Fi password?
1. Log in to the LG8245X6 web page using your mobile phone, pad, or PC. For
details, see "How do I log in to the LG8245X6 web page?"
2. On the web page, click Fast Setting (not for the rst login). The Fast Setting
page is displayed.
3. On the Wi-Fi conguration page, enter a new password, and click Next.

What can I do if I forget the Wi-Fi password?
1. Log in to the LG8245X6 web page using your PC by wired login. For details,
see "How do I log in to the LG8245X6 web page?"
2. On the web page, click Fast Setting (not for the rst login). The Fast Setting
page is displayed.
3. On the Wi-Fi conguration page, enter a new password, and click Hide.

How can I hide the Wi-Fi name?
1. Log in to the LG8245X6 web page using your mobile phone, pad, or PC. For

2. Choose Advanced > Wi-Fi > 2.4G Basic/5G Basic or Advanced
Conguration > WLAN > 2.4G Basic Network Settings/5G Basic Network

What can I do if the network speed is slow?
1. Check whether network cables are properly connected. Remove and then
insert the network cables. Then, check whether the network speed is normal.
2. Check whether downloading, network video watching, or other operations
occupy a large amount of bandwidth. Due to bandwidth restrictions, if some
network applications occupy a large amount of network bandwidth, the
network speed is slow.
3. Use another PC, mobile phone, or pad to check whether the network speed is
aected by the poor performance of the mobile phone.
How do I restore the LG8245X6 to factory setting?
Press and hold the Reset button for more than 6s to restore the LG8245X6 to
factory settings. Exercise caution when performing this operation. Otherwise, the
device may fail to access the Internet. If so, contact your service provider.
