1. INTRODUCTION AND SAFETY
Thank you for choosing this shower valve. Please read the manual before
installation.
This installation guide is for the Single Control Valve with an Integral Shut Off.
It covers the installation, maintenance and operation of the Shower Valve.
The Single Control Valve is thermostatically regulated by a wax element. It is
designed to provide a flow of water at a safe temperature when installed as
described in this manual.
For use with shower heads rated at 9.5 L/min (2.5 gpm) or higher.
OPERATING CONDITIONS
Hot Water Inlet Temperature
52 °C to 65 °C (125 °F to 149 °F)
Cold Water inlet temperature
5.0 °C to 20 °C (41 °F to 68 °F)
We recommend that this product is fitted by a fully qualified installer. The
installation must comply with all current local water regulations.
Please note: This valve MUST be commissioned on site to suit site conditions.
In order for this product to operate as designed it must be installed,
commissioned and maintained as stated in this manual.
Handle & plate design may vary depending on model chosen.

3. TECHNICAL DATA
Single Control Valve with an Integral Shut Off. The flow and temperature
is controlled by the same handle.
½” NPT or ¾” NPT depending on model selected.
The valves have integral serviceable check valves and strainers. Please see
the components section.
The cartridge is reversible. If the valve body is installed with the water
feeds going to the wrong side of the valve, simply remove the cartridge,
turn 180° and replace. It is also perfect for back to back installation.
The cartridge is constructed of an engineering polymer which is highly
resistant to calcium build up, even in hard water areas.

WARNING
CARTRIDGE REVERSAL:
Please note that the pipework on site should be plumbed with the hot on
the left and the cold on the right as you look at it. If this is not the case,
NB: PLEASE AVOID OVER HEATING THE BODY
TO AVOID PLASTIC COMPONENTS BEING
DAMAGED. REMOVING THE CARTRIDGE AND

instead of turning the valve body around to match the pipework, the
cartridge can be taken out of the valve body, turned 180° and placed back
in the valve body. The Hot & Cold inlets will now match the incoming water.
When removing the cartridge, please undo the retaining nut and then pull
gently on the cartridge. There may be some residual water behind the
cartridge. Remove the cartridge from the valve body and turn it 180° so that
the positional lug on the cartridge lines up with the slot in the valve body.
Push the cartridge into the valve body making sure the lug is in the slot.
Replace the retaining nut being careful not to over tighten.
INSTALLATION:
1. Remove the chrome sleeves from the shower valve body, and leave to
one side in a safe place.
2. Determine the fixing position for the valve and make a recess in the wall
to house the valve. Please see the Dimension section for the depth of
recess required.
3. Screw the shower valve body in position, using the mounting lugs that
are cast into the base of the body.
4. Now the shower valve body is securely mounted onto the wall, make
sure the pipework is thoroughly flushed through to remove any debris

9
from the system before connecting the water supplies. Failure to do this
could result in debris entering the product and hindering performance.
5. The plumbing connections should then be made to the HOT & COLD
water inlets (which are clearly marked).
6. Make the plumbing connection to the water outlet. This will take the
water to the chosen auxiliary product (shower kit) you have selected to
run with this shower (fig 1).
7. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
8. Please make sure the shut off position is correctly set and that there is
no water coming from the valve when in the off position. If there is
please see the shut off position adjustment section.
9. Check the max water temperature from the terminal fitting with a
thermometer. The recommended maximum terminal outlet is 47 °C
(116.6 °F). If you need to change the water temperature please see the
temperature adjustment section.
10. Re fit the chrome sleeves to the shower body. Please tile up to the valve
as in fig 2.
11. Apply a small bead of silicone behind the chrome concealing plate (this
will give a water tight seal so water cannot ingress into the wall cavity).
Slide the plate into position over the chrome sleeves, and fit up against
the finished wall surface.
12. Fit the chrome control handles. The thermostatic control handle is
clearly marked with H & C. Your shower valve is now ready for use.

7. FLOW SHUT OFF ADJUSTMENT
If the valve is not shutting of completely when in the fully off position, please
follow these steps:
1. Remove the handle and/or the brass stop ring (if there is one with the
handle type).
2. Loosely place the handle or brass stop ring on the spline and turn
clockwise. As soon as the water stops flowing remove the handle or brass
stop ring.
3. Replace the handle or brass stop ring with the lug (fig 3 or fig 4) against
the cartridge lug so that the handle or brass stop cannot turn any further
clockwise. This sets the flow off position.
4. If you need to you can now set the max temperature. Please see the next
section.

8. MAX TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
1. Turn the handle to the max temperature setting by turning the handle
anti-clockwise (fig 5). Measure the temperature with a thermometer.
2. Remove the handle and brass stop ring if there is one, being very careful
not to turn the temperature spindle again.
3. Using a small flat head screw driver (3mm), undo the plug screw located
inside the spindle which will allow you to access the calibration screw.
Water may leak from inside the cartridge now, this is normal.
4. Using the same screw driver, locate the calibration screw inside the valve
and turn it clockwise to decrease the temperature and anti-clockwise to
increase the temperature. Please turn the screw driver in small
increments allowing time for the valve to adjust. Measure after each
adjustment until you reach the desired temperature. We recommend a
max of 47°C.
5. Replace the handle or brass stop ring so that the stop lug is against the
cartridge stop lug and cannot move any further anti-clockwise. This sets
the max temperature.
6. Turn the cartridge fully clockwise to the off position until it reaches the
stop. There should be no flow from the valve. If there is then the spindle
was most likely moved anti-clockwise during temperature adjustment and
the shut off position needs to be reset.

9. AFTERCARE
When cleaning the valve please do not use a substance that could
possibly damage the surface finish. We recommend that soapy water
with a mild detergent is used.
Please take care not to damage the surface finish of the valve. The
finish is polished chrome and can be easily marked.
10.FAULT DIAGNOSIS
Fault
