1. GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this
power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious
injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-
operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit.Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to
lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce
risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the
risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase
the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a
cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do
not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a
dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to
power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your
finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the
power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and
ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool
will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from
the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged,
have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking
into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and
grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
2. HEDGE TRIMMER SAFETY WARNINGS
Safety instructions for hedge trimmers
Hedge trimmer safety warnings:
a) Keep all parts of the body away from the blade. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be
cut when blades are moving.Blades continue to move after the switch is turned off. A moment of
inattention while operating the hedge trimmer may result in serious personal injury.

b) Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the blade stopped and taking care not to operate any
power switch.Proper carrying of the hedge trimmer will decrease the risk of inadvertent starting and
resultant personal injury from the blades.
c) When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer, always fit the blade cover.Proper handling of the
hedge trimmer will decrease the risk of personal injury from the blades.
d) When clearing jammed material or servicing the unit, make sure all power switches are off and
the power cord is disconnected.Unexpected actuation of the hedge trimmer while clearing jammed
material or servicing may result in serious personal injury.
e) Hold the hedge trimmer by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the blade may contact
hidden wiring or its own cord.Blades contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the
hedge trimmer "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
f) Keep all power cords and cables away from cutting area.Power cords or cables may be hidden in
hedges or bushes and can be accidentally cut by the blade.
g) Do not use the hedge trimmer in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of
lightning.This decreases the risk of being struck by lightning.
Additional safety instructions for extended-reach hedge trimmers
Extended-reach hedge trimmer safety warnings:
a) To reduce the risk of electrocution, never use the extended-reach hedge trimmer near any
electrical power lines.Contact with or use near power lines may cause serious injury or electric shock
resulting in death.
b) Always use two hands when operating the extended-reach hedge trimmer.Hold the extended-
reach hedge trimmer with both hands to avoid loss of control.
c) Always use head protection when operating the extended-reach hedge trimmer overhead.Falling
debris can result in serious personal injury.
Additional instructions
- Check the hedges and bushes for foreign objects, e.g. wire fences and hidden wiring.
- Use of a residual current device with a tripping current of 30 mA or less.
- Hold the hedge trimmer properly, e.g. with both hands if two handles are provided;
- This hedge trimmer is intended to be used by the operator at ground level and not on ladders or any
other unstable support;
- Before operating the hedge trimmer, the user should make sure the locking device(s) of any moving
elements (e.g. the extended shaft and pivoting element), if any, are in the locked position;
- Always use the provided shoulder harness.
- Always wear a protective equipment including, at least a hearing protection, a protective helmet, a
ocular protection, protective clothes and protective gloves.
- Protective gloves must always be worn during the manipulation of the blade.
3. INTENDED USE
The device is only determined for cutting and trimming of hedges, bushes and shrubs around your house.
Any other usage, which do not declared in this manual, can damage the device and cause a serious danger
to the users.
The electric hedge trimmer is designed for use by adults. Adolescents over 16 years may use it only under
supervision. The use of the electric hedge trimmer in case of rain or humid environment is prohibited.
The operator or user is responsible for accidents or damage to other people or their properties. The
manufacturer is not liable for any damages because of the usage against its original functions or incorrect
operation.

product or instruction on its use.

6. ASSEMBLY
6.1 Unpacking
This product requires assembly.
Carefully remove the product from the box.
Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the
product. If any parts are damaged or missing, please contact your authorized service center.
WARNING:
If any parts are damaged or missing, do not operate this product until the parts are replaced. Failure to
heed this warning could result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Do not attempt to modify this product or create accessories not recommended for use with this product. Any
such alteration or modification is misuse and could result in a hazardous condition leading to possible
serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Do not connect to power supply until assembly is complete. Failure to comply could result in accidental
starting and possible serious personal injury.
6.2 Assembling the tool
Before using the garden tool, a one-time assembly is required. When removed from the box, the two poles
are connected by interconnection cord as shown in photo.
6.3 Assembling the two part
Insert the telescopic tube (1) into the cutting head (2). Turn the locking knob (3) to tighten the tube on the
tool.
6.4 Removing the telescopic tube from the cutting head
Press the release button (3) then unscrew the knob. Remove the telescopic tube.
WARNING:
Failure to lock telescopic pole as directed above could result in serious injury or death.

7. OPERATION
This garden tool must only be connected to single-phase AC socket-outlet. Ensure that the mains voltage is
the same as the operating voltage indicated on the rating plate.
WARNING:
Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a
second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.
WARNING:
Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating power tools. Failure to do
so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible serious injury.
WARNING:
Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer of this product. The use
of attachments or accessories not recommended can result in serious personal injury.
7.1 STARTING AND STOPPING
Connect the garden tool plug to power supply.
Attach the outlet end of an extension cord to the plug on the rear of the garden tool. Fix extension cord
through cord retainer.
NOTE: Use only an approved outdoor extension cord as described previously in this manual. Grasp the
telescopic pole with your left hand and the rear handle with your right hand.
To start the blade movement, push the lock-off button and then pull the switch trigger.
To stop blade movement, release the switch trigger off.
7.2 ADJUSTING TELESCOPIC POLE
Disconnect the garden tool from the power supply.
Press the locking button of the telescopic tube and then unscrew its locking knob. Adjust the length of the
telescopic tube following the operation to do.
NOTE: Extend the telescopic pole only to the length required to reach the hedges being trimmed. Do not
extend the handle above waist height. When the desired length is achieved, screw the locking knob.
NOTE: Adjust hand placement on the telescopic pole of garden tool to keep proper balance. Do not attempt
to use the garden tool at a length which does not allow you to achieve proper footing and balance at all
times.
7.3 ADJUSTING PIVOTING HEAD
Disconnect the plug from the power supply.
Push pivot button and adjust trimmer head until it snaps securely into place at one of the four positions
indicated on the button.

CAUTION:
Do not place hand between pivoting head and threaded base. Failure to heed this caution could result in a
pinch point injury.
CUTTING TIPS
WARNING:
Always keep both hands on the hedge trimmer handles. Never hold shrubs with one hand and operate
hedge trimmer with the other. Failure to heed this warning can result in serious injury.
WARNING:
Clear the area to be cut before each use. Remove all objects such as cords, cable or wire which can
become entangled in the cutting blade and create a risk of serious personal injury.
When operating the hedge trimmer, keep the extension cord behind the trimmer. Never drape it over the
hedge being trimmed.
Do not force the hedge trimmer through heavy shrubbery. This can cause the blades to bind and slow down.
If the blades slow down, reduce the pace.
Do not attempt to cut stems or twig that are larger than 3/4 in. thick, or those obviously too large to feed into
the cutting blade. Use a non-powered hand saw or pruning saw to trim large stems.
If blades do become jammed, stop the motor, allow the blades to stop, and disconnect the plug from the
power source before attempting to remove the obstruction.
If desired, you can use a string to help cut your hedge level. Decide how high you want the hedge. Stretch
a piece of string along the hedge at the desired height. Trim the hedge just above the guide line of string.
Trim the side of a hedge so that it will be slightly narrower at the top. More of the hedge will be exposed
when shaped this way, and it will be more uniform.
Wear gloves when trimming thorny or prickly growth. When trimming new growth, use a wide sweeping
action, so that the stems are fed directly into the cutting blade. Older growth will have thicker stems and will
be trimmed easiest by using a sawing movement.
WARNING:
Read the safety information for safe operation using the blade. Extreme care must be taken when using
blades to ensure safe operation. Refer to Important Safety Instructions and Specific Safety Rules.
Hold unit firmly with both hands. Always keep your left hand on the telescopic pole and your right hand on
the rear handle. The unit is used for cutting in either direction in a slow, sweeping action from side to side.
Stand so that you are stable and balanced on both feet. Inspect and clear the area of any hidden objects.
To protect yourself from electrocution, do not operate within 50 feet of overhead electrical lines.
Never use the hedge trimmer near power lines, fencing, posts, buildings, or other immovable objects.
Never use a blade after hitting a hard object without first inspecting it for damage. Do not use if any damage
is detected.

8. MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause
product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing
dust. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
WARNING:
Before inspecting, cleaning or servicing the unit, stop the motor, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
disconnect from power supply. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious personal injury or
property damage.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various
types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil,
grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in
contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic, which may result in serious
personal injury.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in
order to avoid a safety hazard.
All chain saw service, other than the items listed in the instruction manual maintenance instructions, should
be performed by competent chain saw service personnel.
9. STORING THE PRODUCT
Clean all foreign material from the product. Store the unit indoors in a dry and well-ventilated area that is
inaccessible to children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.
Always place the guard on the cutting element when transporting or storing the tool. The protection must be
well adjusted because the blade is very sharp.

11. DISPOSAL
Electrical products should not be discarded with household products. According to the European
Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation into national law,

purpose. Talk with your local authorities or dealer for advice on recycling.

14. PRODUCT FAILURE

THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
• Start-up and setting up of the product.
• Damage resulting from normal wear and tear of the product.
• Damage resulting from improper use of the product.
• Damage resulting from assembly or start-up not in accordance with the user manual.
• Breakdowns related to carburetion beyond 90 days and fouling of carburetors.
• Periodic and standard maintenance events.
• Actions of modication and dismantling that directly void the warranty.
• Products whose original authentication marking (brand, serial number) has been degraded, altered or
withdrawn.
• Replacement of consumables.
• The use of non-original parts.
• Breakage of parts following impacts or projections.
• Accessories breakdowns.
• Defects and their consequences linked to any external cause.
• Loss of components and loss due to insu󰀩cient screwing.
• Cutting components and any damage related to the loosening of parts.
• Overload or overheating.
• Poor power supply quality: faulty voltage, voltage error, etc.
• Damages resulting from the deprivation of enjoyment of the product during the time necessary for repairs
and more generally the costs related to the immobilization of the product.
• The costs of a second opinion established by a third party following an estimate by a SWAP-Europe repair
station
• The use of a product which would show a defect or a breakage which was not the subject of an immediate
report and/or repair with the services of SWAP-Europe.
• Deterioration linked to transport and storage*.
• Launchers beyond 90 days.
• Oil, petrol, grease.
• Damages related to the use of non-compliant fuels or lubricants.
* In accordance with transport legislation, damage related to transport must be declared to carriers within 48
hours maximum after observation by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.
This document is a supplement to your notice, a non-exhaustive list.
Attention: all orders must be checked in the presence of the delivery person. In case of refusal by the
delivery person, it you must simply refuse the delivery and notify your refusal.
Reminder: the reserves do not exclude the notication by registered letter with acknowledgement within 72
hours.
Information:
Thermal devices must be wintered each season (service available on the SWAP-Europe site). Batteries must
be charged before being stored.
