First Use of Your Dessert Maker
During transportation, the incline angle of the cabinet should not be over 45°. Do not turn the
Ice cream maker upside down, especially when cleaning it. Problems could occur in the
compressor and sealed system.
Remove all packing material and please check carefully that your ice maker is in good overall
condition. Check for damage to both the main unit, the power lead and the plug.
The ice cream maker should be placed horizontally on a properly leveled surface. To ensure
proper ventilation for your ice cream maker allow at least 10cm clearance at the top, back and
on each side. Please do not install the ice cream maker near an oven, or other heat source.
Before using the ice cream maker for the first time, please wait 2 hours after positioning
it to let the refrigerant settle.
Plug the power chord (J) into a standard electrical outlet (220~240V/ 50Hz)
Read all instructions BEFORE USINGTHE MACHINE.
Do not use outdoors.
WE DO NOT ISSUE A QUICK-START GUIDE FOR THIS MACHINE BECAUSE IT IS
IMPORTANT THAT THE PARTS ARE SET UP CORRECTLY AND THAT THE PREPARATION
PROCEDURE IS FOLLOWED CAREFULLY TO MAKE YOUR DESSERT.
Operating Instructions
1Before using your appliance, remove the bowl and wash in warm water and dry thoroughly
inside and out. The lid and motor drive should be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Note: Do not place any part in the dishwasher. Thoroughly dry the bowl and stainless
steel parts inside and outside into the lid/churn motor assembly and set aside.
2With the LCD display (I) facing you remove the motor unit (G) from the churn motor power
plug (F) and remove the cover (E) by turning it in an anti clockwise direction
3Take out the removable bowl (C) and pour approximately 30ml (23g) of cooking alcohol into
the fixed cylinder (D). This is necessary to transfer the cold from the fixed cylinder to the ice
cream bowl and ensures faster ice cream production. WARNING: the alcohol should be
poured into the fixed cylinder and not the bowl where your ingredients are mixed.
4Insert the removable bowl back into the fixed cylinder. Insert the paddle (H) and replace the
cover, making sure that the paddle gearing stick goes through the hole in the cover. Lock the
cover by turning it in a clockwise direction. Replace the motor unit carefully.
5Plug in the machine. The power supply light (13) will illuminate and the display will
indicate 00:00.

6Pour ingredients according to the selected recipe into the bowl. Chilled ingredients work better.
Do not pour warm ingredients into bowl and do not overfill because ice cream will almost
double in size as you mix it.
7Start the chilling process by pressing the ON/OFF button (11). PLEASE NOTE: The
machine is equipped with a refrigeration safety device so the compressor and churner
will start a few minutes after the machine has started. The chill light (14) will illuminate
when the chilling process starts and the paddle starts churning. You should not need to press
the mix button (12) unless you want to stop churning or restart churning during operation.
8The display will show the countdown from 50mins which you can adjust (10) depending on
the quantity and recipe. When the ice cream has reached the correct consistency, the paddle
will slow down until it locks up. At this point, stop the blade by pressing the mix button, even
if the countdown has not finished, and remove the paddle to prevent it freezing in the mix.
The dessert will continue to chill while left in the bucket so if you are making soft
desserts like yoghurts or sherbets make sure they do not become too hard.
9When the set time has elapsed to ‘0’ on the timer display, the buzzer will beep, alerting you
that the dessert is done. Remove the lid/churn motor assembly and check the ice cream. If it
is ready shut off the main power switch and remove the ice cream using plastic or wooden
utensils, never metal, to avoid damaging the bowl.
10 If your mix is not ready just press the timer to extend the mix period. WARNING: the mixing
time can only be adjusted while the paddle is operating. The machine will still continue
to chill your dessert after the mixing is finished but cuts off automatically after 70 minutes of
continued use as a safety feature.
11 The chilling phase can be started again by pressing the On/Off button. Chocolate chips,
raisins, sesame seeds, ground almonds and other ingredients may be added via the small
window (L) during the preparation phase. For alcoholic desserts and cocktails a-dd alcohol
or liquers only at the end of the preparation phase otherwise the chilling process is delayed.
12 When ice-cream is ready, it should be consumed within 20 minutes or stored in a freezable
container in the freezer. You can place the whole aluminium bucket in the freezer
temporarily and make another batch in the cooling cylinder (D) without the bucket. Just
be aware that you will need to clean out the cylinder carefully with a cloth, NOT under
running water. Also, do not store the bucket in the freezer for more than a few days.
13 There will be a variation in the time it takes for a batch to freeze depending on the amount and
on the temperature of ingredients used. If you want quicker results, use less ingredients and/or
refrigerate them before use. Soft ice cream, sorbets and the like will take as little as 25
minutes.

Maintenance:
Clean the machine frequently. When cleaning, unplug the unit and remove the ice cream. Use
a diluted solution of water and vinegar to clean the inside and the outside surface of the Ice
cream maker. Do not spray Ice cream maker with chemicals or diluted agents such as acids,
gasoline or oil. Rinse thoroughly before starting.
Remove the mixing blade assembly from the appliance before washing the assembly.
Always unplug the unit from the outlet when not in use.
Do not spill on or immerse cord plugs, main housing, motor assembly or other non-removable
electrical parts of this appliance in water or other liquid.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
Be certain unit is “off” before inserting or removing plug from wall outlet.
Keep hands and utensils out of container while operating to prevent the possibility of personal
injury or damage to the appliance machine. A scraper may be used, but must be used only
when the appliance is not running.
To operate the appliance you must have the cover lid in place.
If the compressor stops for any reason wait 3 minutes, and then re-start.

TROUBLESHOOTING
•The paddle is not turning: if the machine has just started there is a delay for a few
minutes as a safety precaution. Make sure too that the transparent cover is locked into
place and the churn motor is plugged in properly. Alternatively, you may have added to
many hard ingredients like nuts or the mix may have become too frozen in which case stop
the Mix button, remove the motor and lid, and GENTLY remove the paddle. If it is
difficult to remove, switch the machine off and wait for the mix to soften first.
•I broke my paddle! Spare parts are available from your original supplier or just contact
the address below
•My mix is too hard: just take the bucket out of the machine and allow to defrost but
remember not to re-freeze once it has softened
•My mix is too soft after 50 minutes The default timer is set at 50 minutes but you may
need to continue mixing and/or chilling depending on how much you are making and what
type of dessert. Remember, the warmer the room temperature and the ingredients the

longer it takes. Use alcohol between the bucket and cylinder to speed up the chilling
process
•My dessert tastes off: home-made dessert is susceptible to bacterial contamination.
Always use the freshest ingredients when appropriate, especially fresh milk, and do not
store for longer than about a week in the freezer. Make sure the temperature is at least
-12C in the freezer and that the container is sterile. You must clean the bucket thoroughly
as well to make sure there is no old residue.
•The motor is not working: the motor assembly is not plugged in properly into the motor
plug beside the cooling cylinder. Switch the machine off and carefully re-house the churn
motor
•The Chill light has switched off. The machine automatically switches off after about 70
minutes. This is a safety device in case the machine is left unattended. Just switch it back
on again but make sure the mix inside has not defrosted because you will start to re-freeze
it.
•I cannot adjust the timer. The timer can be adjusted only while the paddle is operating:
pressing the timer button will not change if the paddle is not operating
•The mix has spilled over the top Only fill the bucket to about halfway for ice cream (no
more than 800g). The volume of ice cream will fill the canister during the last few
minutes of operation.
•The machine seems to be too warm Make sure there is at least 10cms of space all around
the machine and that it is not near a heat source. The motor will heat up during preparation
but the cylinder remains insulated.
