To Install Thermostat
ELECTRICALSHOCKHAZARD
–Turnoffpoweratthemainservicepanelbyremoving
thefuseorswitchingtheappropriatecircuitbreakertotheOFFpositionbefore
removingtheexistingthermostat.
IMPORTANT:Thermostat installation must conform to local and national building and
electrical codes and ordinances.
Note:
Mountthethermostataboutvefeetabovetheoor.Donotmountthethermostaton
anoutsidewall,indirectsunlight,behindadoor,orinanareaaffectedbyaventor
duct.
1.Turnoffpowertothecoolingsystem.MovetheMode switchtoOFF
.
2.Toremovecover,insertandtwistacoinorscrewdriverintheslotsonthesidesofthethermostat.
3.MovetheFan switchtoAuto.
4.Putthermostatbaseagainstthewallwhereyouplantomountit(Besurewireswillfeedthrough
thewireopeninginthebaseofthethermostat).
5.Marktheplacementofthemountingholes.
6.Setthermostatbaseandcoverawayfromworkingarea.
7.Usinga3/16”drillbit,drillholesintheplacesyouhavemarkedformounting.
8.Useahammertotapsuppliedanchorsintomountingholes.
9.Alignthermostatbasewithmountingholesandfeedthecontrolwiresthroughwireopening.
10.Usesuppliedscrewstomountthermostatbasetowall.
CAUTION!
:
Besureexposedportionofwiresdoesnottouchotherwires.
11.Tightenscrewsonterminalblock.Gentlytugwiretobesureofproperconnection.Doublecheck
thateachwireisconnectedtotheproperterminal.
12.Sealholeforwiresbehindthermostatwithnon-ammableinsulationorputty.
13.Replacecoveronthermostatbysnappingitinplace.
14.Turnonpowertothesystematthemainservicepanel.
To Remove Existing Thermostat
ELECTRICALSHOCKHAZARD
–
Turn off power at the main service panel by removing the fuse
or switching the appropriate circuit breaker to the OFF position before removing the existing
thermostat.
1. Turnoffpowertotheheatingsystembyremovingthefuseorswitchingtheappropriatecircuitbreakeroff.
2. Removecoverofoldthermostat.Thisshouldexposethewires.
3. Labeltheexistingwireswiththeenclosedwirelabelsbeforeremovingwires.
4. Afterlabelingwires,removewiresfromwireterminals.
5. Removeexistingthermostatbasefromwall.
6. Refertothefollowingsectionforinstructionsonhowtoinstallthisthermostat.

Replacetheoldlabelswiththeenclosednewlabels:

Operation
Setting the Room Temperature (Setpoint Temperature)
Step1:Presstheupordownbutton;thecurrenttemperaturesepointdisplays.
Step2:Presstheupordownbuttonuntilthedesiredtemperaturesepointdisplays.
Thenewtemperaturesettingisautomaticallysaved.After5seconds,thedisplayreturnstoshowing
thecurrentroomtemperature.
Setting a New Temperature Differential
Thedefaulttemperaturedifferentialis1°.Whenyourroomtemperaturevariesby1°F,thethermostat
turnsonyoursystem.Ifyounoticeyoursystemturningonandofftoofrequently,increasethe
temperaturedifferential.
Step1: RemovecoverandpresstheResetbuttononce.
Step2: Fortherst10secondsofoperation,thetemperaturedifferentialisdisplayed.
Presstheupordownbuttontoselectdesiredsetting.
