TM Instructions
IMPORTANT: Please read the following instructions before operating your iSun™ unit
Important NotesImportant Notes
• ALWAYS connect the power cable and adapters first, then your electronic device last. Otherwise it may cause a short circuit.
• DO NOT attempt to recharge NON-RECHARGEABLE alkaline batteries.
• When using iSun™ in your vehicle, make sure your vehicle's temperature is within the allowable specified range (see General Specifications).
Step 1: TESTING
Open the iSun™ by pushing on the small black latch at the front of the unit. Place the iSun™ in
full sunshine and test it by pressing the yellow test button to the right of the latch. The green
LED will light up indicating sufficient sunlight is present and your unit is working properly.

Step 2: POSITIONING
Always select a location where your iSun™ will get the maximum sunshine. Tilt the iSun™
towards the sun for best performance.

Step 3: WINDOW MOUNTING
Your iSun™ comes with 2 suction cups . This allows you to mount your iSun™ directly to a
window. Before mounting to a window, secure the suction cups in the holes on the inside of
the frame (see FIG. 1).

Step 4: CHOOSING 6V/12V
On the back of the iSun™ you will find a
6V/12V switch. Select the 6V position when
connecting to electronics requiring 6V or
less (i.e. mp3 and minidisc players, digital
cameras, and electronic games). Select the 12V
position when connecting to electronics requiring
12V or when using the female socket adapter cable . Always check your electronic's
specifications before using your iSun™.

Proper Adapter Connection
Connect to iSun™ female
socket ➤
Connect to Electronic Device
Start by connecting the power
cable to the female socket
of the iSun™, then connect
the adapter that best fits your
electronic's power jack to the power cable
.
Connect the adapter to your electronic device.
VERY IMPORTANT: Most iSun™ users in North America must match the adapters to
the power cable + to + (positive to positive) if their electronic device displays the symbol
. This symbol is usually found next to the power output of the electronic device.
Conversely, most iSun™ users in Europe must match adapters to the power cable + to
-
(positive to negative) if their electronic device displays this symbol . No charging
will occur if the incorrect polarity is used.

plugs into the female socket . Then plug the male cigarette adapter plug (*not
included, see FIG. 3) into the female socket adapter cable. Plug your male cigarette adapter

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: CAN THE iSun™ DRAIN MY BATTERY AT NIGHT?
A: No. The iSun™ has a built-in diode for reverse current protection.

Q: CAN MY iSun™ BE LEFT OUTDOORS WITHOUT A PROTECTIVE COVERING?
A: Yes. The iSun™ is weatherproofed and may be left outdoors. However, the iSun™ is not waterproof and should be brought indoors in the event of
rain or snow.

Q: CAN I CHARGE MORE THAN ONE BATTERY AT A TIME WITH THE iSun™?
A: Yes. For example, the charge can be applied to a bank of small AA batteries. When connected to a bank of 2 or more batteries, the total power input
will be divided into that number of batteries. The higher the number of batteries, the longer it will take to recharge the battery bank.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I USE THE WRONG POLARITY?
A: No charging will occur. See section on Proper Adapter Connection.
Q: WHAT DO I DO IF NONE OF THE PLUGS WORK FOR MY APPLIANCE?
A: ICP Global is planning to launch new adapters. To find out more, please check the iSun™ website for details.
Multiple iSun™ ConnectionMultiple iSun™ Connection
If you have more than one iSun™ you can double its charging power by connecting them together using
the sliding male plug on the back of the unit. Remove the rubber cap, slide the switch into its locking
position (see FIG. 6), insert the male plug into the female socket of another iSun™ (see FIG. 7).
