STARTING AND STOPPING THE SAW
Always move the saw at least 10 feet (3 m) away from the fueling
area before starting.
Place the saw on clear ground. Ensure that secure footing is
established and blade is not contacting any objects.

PRE-CUT CHECKLIST
• Ensureproperbelttension.
• Ensurethebladeismountedcorrectly.
• Ensureallsafetydevicesareproperlymountedandfunctionalandthatallcontrolsareinproper
workingorder.
• Besuretherearenoobstructions(plumbing,electricalconduit,airducts).
• Alwayswearprotectiveclothing,includinghardhat,eyeprotection,hearingprotection,non-slip
safetyboots,gloves,andavoidwearingloosefittingclothing.
PLANNING THE CUT
• Outlinethecutwithapermanentmarkerforavisualcuttingguide.
• Avoidpinchingtheblade.Alwayscutthebottomofanopeningfirst,thentop,andthenthesides.
Savetheeasiestcutforlast.
• Forthestraightestcutsusethe“StepCut”method.Firstscoretheentirecutlineapproximatelya
half-inchdeep.Next,deepenthecutbyabouttwoinches.Thencompletethecut.
• Besurecutconcretecannotfallandinjureoperatororbystanders.Concreteisveryheavy,one
cubicfoot=12”x12”x12”=150lbs.(30cmx30cmx30cm=68kg).
WARM ENGINE STARTING PROCEDURE
Usethesameprocedureasstartingcoldengine,butDO NOT pull choke lever out.Ifchokeis
used,thecarburetorwillfloodwithgas.
Iftheenginedoesnotstartin3hard,fastpullswiththethrottlelocked,unlockthethrottleandpull
the starter cord 3 more times.

CUTTING WITH THE RZ60C CHOP SAW
Tostartacut,holdtriggeronfullthrottleandslowlyplungethebladestraightintothewall.
CUTTING TIPS
• Alwaysoperatethesawatfullthrottle.ApplyenoughfeedforcesothatthefreerunningRPM
drops20to30%.Iftoomuchforceisapplied,thesawwilllugorstall.Thebladewillnothave
enoughspeedtocuteffectively.Iftoolittlefeedforceisapplied,thediamondswillskidandglaze
over.
• Forstraightercutsusethe“stepcut”method.Firstscoretheentirecutlinewiththeblade
approximately1/2inch(12mm)to1inch(25mm)deep.Next,deepenthecutbyabout2inches
(50mm).Thisgroovewillhelpguidethebladeforastraightcut.Thencompletethecut.
• Plungecutinsteadofstartingatthetopofthewall.Thiswillreducechatter,extendbladelife,
createastraightercut.
• Whencuttingheavyrebar,movethebladeinandoutofthesteelsothatthebladeisalways
cuttingconcreteaswellassteel.Thiswillhelpkeepthediamondsexposed.Also,expectless
diamondbladelifewhencuttingheavyrebar.

MAINTENANCE
Follow these simple maintenance guidelines
and your RZ60C Chop Saw will keep running at its very best.
• Removethecoverandprefilter.
• Cleanbyshakingpre-filtervigorously.
• Donotusecompressedair.
• Washpre-filterwithwarmsoapywater.
• Drythoroughly.
• Re-oilwithfoamfilteroil.
NOTE: Itisrecommendedtokeepspare
pre-filtersonhand.Regularexchangewill
prolongthelifeoftheprimaryairfilter.
AFTER EACH USE
FollowthedirectionsontheDailyMaintenanceLabel,
locatedontheairfiltercover.
• Cleanthesawwithwaterifcuttingwet
andwipeoff. • Blowoffthesawwithairifcuttingdry.
